Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa

A family of 4 with kids 11 and 8 stayed at Hideaway resort for 3 nights. I booked this hotel after reading great reviews and I wanted my kids to experience the Fijian culture for a partial time of our vacation in Fiji. You get what you paid for. This sums up all reviews. First impression was bad when we arrived as the receptionist was rude and when we got to the partial ocean view bure, the washroom wall was infested with hundreds of ants and everything looked dirty. Dirty wall, mouldy ceiling and tiles in the washroom, dirty toilet…The rooms need updating. After I reported the ant issue, a very nice cleaning lady came in with the insect repellent and sprayed way too much of it that the smell of the chemical stayed in the washroom for awhile… Ants kept reappearing… We told the kids that it is more like camping. But the swimming pool with the water slide and the view of the ocean was AMAZING. Kids loved it. The breakfast was also great as you get to order a choice of eggs, sausage/bacon/baked beans and fresh fruits and bread/pastries. The people who worked in the restaurants and cleaning ladies were kind. We did kayaking which was the best and the kids enjoyed playing on the beautiful beach everyday. You come to Hideaway to witness the beautiful scenery!

Absolutely awesome holiday was had by Ruthie and myself at Hideaway Resort and Spa. The staff were great, at the restaurant, bar, activities, etc. The pool was well used, (so was the bar). The main restaurant was very good, the Japanese restaurant great.. Our unit was very adequate, inside and outside shower, safe etc, a good place to sleep. All in all very good. Brilliant super king bed, was of very good quality. We were there for 10 days, so really got to know the place well. We have travelled a fair bit and have decided this was one of our best holidays. While the resort is a little older and less “luxury” than others, it makes up with heart! The food is delicious, they offer endless daily activities (some free and some a small price) that are suitable for families and adults, they give rich lessons in their culture with things from dances to village tours. But the most amazing thing about this resort is the people. The staff are the most friendly, genuine people I have ever met. They truly go above and beyond to make your experience a good one. A lot of the staff make an effort to learn and remember your name, they will encourage you to join them in dancing and even participate in the activities with you. I will come back to this resort just for the beautiful people. Important to note while this is probably more a family resort, my partner and I had a wonderful time.

My wife and I just enjoyed a week at the Fiji Hideaway along with our family, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They always made us so welcome and even arranged the local village choir to sing their Fijian version of Happy Anniversary during our anniversary dinner. The food was always great, although a bit more variety would be good. ||Our beachfront villas were a little dated, but they certainly had plenty of space and were clean and tidy. Thank you to all the staff for making our family holiday so enjoyable. ||We will certainly be returning to the Fiji Hideaway.

My partner and I stayed at this lovely resort for 2 nights and could not have asked for better service or friendlier staff! The stay is not only reasonably priced but the additional activities they offer are also value for money. We had the wonderful Kini take us on a tour of the local school and the access they gave us tourists was incredible. The staff learn and remember your name making the stay more personable, making you fall in love with the place even more. The food was delicious with the Lovo Buffet a must try. While the resort is more suited to families and some amenities are a little outdated, if you are a couple looking for a budget stay we could not recommend this resort enough.

Really enjoyed my stay at Fiji Hideaway. The resort is definitely showing signs of wear and tear, getting old but is great value for money. The room was spacious / comfortable and staff super friendly. Wifi is only available in the reception/bar area but had 4G phone service that worked in my room. Nice onsite spa for massages at affordable prices and a great location with nearby restaurants if you don’t want to eat at the resort all the time. Really enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others

We had a lovely time during our time at Hideaway. Everyone was very welcoming and very friendly. Food was good. Rooms basic. Beds comfortable. Rooms serviced daily. Loved the fact that there were no TVS in bures and only internet in the main areas. Massage was great.

Just spent our 10th anniversary here. it exceeded expectations. there have been improvements made that are not shown in current photos. the staff are incredible. the gardens are beautiful. the surroundings are amazing. They have so much to do on their activities list and much cheaper than the tour companies. Also, their Indian food is delicious and fresh, with fresh roti made from scratch. Kokoda is good too. Perfect place to "hideaway" forget about troubles and enjoy fiji time. The only slight let down was the soundproofing between rooms, this needs improvement (room 29). We will definitely be back. next time with the kids! Vinaka Vakalevu!
