FILIPPOU Restaurant

I like tablecloths and this restaurant has them! On a corner in kolonaki, Filippo Restaurant has a pleasant and cosy covered area outside. Service was excellent and fast. We started w smashed Fava beans and fresh sweet onions which was delicious. I had chicken souvlaki and my husband opted for the pork souvlaki which he devoured. The prices were very reasonable and we were treated to a sweet semolina and honey cake curtsy of the management

Found this hidden gem in the neighborhood where we were staying as we walked by it numerous times. There is both inside and outside seating. Server was very friendly. We started with the delicious fried feta with honey and sesame seeds. This is a must try for anyone visiting Greece. We also had the tasty Octopus which was chopped with oil, vinegar and oregano. The Artichokes a la Polita was slow cooked artichoke hearts with carrots and potatoes in a lemon sauce. It was quite good. And the meatloaf was cooked with an egg in the middle….definitely different. The meal ended with a moist cake with brown sugar that was quite good. And the beer always hits the spot. Great prices for a meal.

Old fashioned tavern- restaurant with typical well-cooked Greek cuisine. Outside seating during summer time, kind service by knowledgeable waiters. Must try the lamb, meatballs, stuffed cabbage leaves (dolma) and pies of this place. Maybe the most original food in Kolonaki area that is still reasonably priced. Delivery is also available.

The food was decent, but the service was absolutely horrible. The server never came to check on us and our food took way too long. One person at our table wanted to order something else but since the waiter never came back to our table he only ate from the appetizer we ordered and had to go hungry. We ran out of water and he never filled up our pitcher. There was no air conditioning and it was too hot inside. In order to finally pay and leave we had to hunt down the server and get his attention. He wasn't even busy, he was sitting down and playing around on his phone. We probably could've just gotten up and walked out without anyone noticing but we're not trashy people. The server not even so much as apologized or had any manners. Worst service I've ever had in Athens.

A wonderful discovery from walking around the city. It seems like a traditional Greek/Athenian place (that's good for lunch too) 99% customers seem local? In any case, good wholesome food and very reasonable price with good staff. So naturally, I stayed for a second glass of red 😊 🍷 🍷 & dessert 🍨 😊

Great authentic place! It wasn’t the cosiest place ever but it felt very genuine and authentic. They served super tasty greek food and good wine. The prices were really affordable as well! Great service.

I've had lunch at Filippou and absolutely loved it. Tasteful decoration, friendly service and delicious food and wine. I'll visit again next time I'm in Athens. Bravo!
