Filitheyo Resort is truly a slice of paradise. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. Our beach bungalow was pristine and super comfortable with easy access to snorkelling sites. The views above and below the water are stunning and the nearby reef is teeming with fish. The food is fresh, delicious, plentiful and varied and we were well looked after by our wonderful waiter Jamal. Both bars have gorgeous ocean views and excellent service. Totally recommend!

We just returned from 4 nights at the beautiful Filitheyo. Have to say it lived up to all our hopes. The underwater world is nothing short of amazing. We saw so many fish, sharks, turtles, rays, absolutely beautiful. Possibly the best snorkeling we have ever done, and just off the beach - amazing!||We had a superior villa which we loved, plenty of shade around and just a few steps to the beautiful beach. Our villa had to be in the best position as well, we had requested one within exits 4 to 7 and they definitely obliged, so thank you Filitheyo.||Meals were amazing. All buffets for breakfast and dinner, loved it all. We were on half board so no lunch included but lunch at the pool bar was always great food and great entertainment from Raj.||We are seriously co spidering a return at the same time next year. Such a great time and loved everything about the island. Amazing happy staff always helps at any resort.||Wifi is expensive so we just didnt bother, in fact 4 days without was great! ||We hadnt heard of Filitheyo before researching for good snorkeling so it obviously flies under the radar but if a great reef is what you are after, Filitheyo is your place. Definitely ours!

Our 4th time staying at Filitheyo Resort. House reef is incredible, all inclusive meals were delicious. We love the natural look of the island. Staff always helpful. Only negative is they charge for wifi - better to puchase a SIM card when you arrive at Male airport

Food is excellent, wide choice of food and cuisine. Really enjoying it, coffee provision slightly off, instead of providing a jug of coffee and a jug of milk so we make it how we like it, the staff pour a cup and add the milk! Not been to any hotel/resort that does this!||We are here to snorkel and dive, the house reef is excellent, probably the best house reef we have had, good for snorkelling and diving, lots of pristine coral and loads of fish even in the very shallow water, suitable for novices.||Dive centre excellent, good range of boat dives available for experienced and novice divers, kit hire available.||Would definitely recommend this resort

We were very impressed initially on arrival , glorious white soft sand and coral lagoon and long beach with direct access to the wonderful house reef . |The overall atmosphere was very relaxed , with the majority of the staff friendly and very helpful .|We stayed in an over water villa , very large and exceptionally clean , however very tired in places especially the floors which are wooden and are need of sanding and replacing . Our housekeeping gentleman was fantastic ( Kasheem) nothing was to much trouble , always had our soft drinks , water , tea & coffee replaced daily . A lovely touch of turn down service was also a lovely touch.|We would not recommend the Water Villa during the rainy season as the waves crashing against the structure during the night made it difficult to sleep . Also entering the water off the steps was very tricky and not for anyone that was not an experienced swimmer . |The Deluxe detached villas are on the lagoon and looked beautifully maintained . The semi detached villas on the main beach are very dark and looked like they needed some TLC , however no walk to the reef beach as it’s on your doorstep. |The main dining room was sand based with boardwalks to navigate around the areas with tables . |The area where the buffet was located was on very soft deep sand , this made it difficult to move around , most people were barefoot .|Food was very good , great selection , pasta station , fresh fish , curries galore , delicious ice cream & sorbet different varieties every meal time . |Sadly a big negative was the waiter , you are allocated your own table for the duration of your stay. |Our waiter was very surely , never smiled , seemed totally disinterested and made us feel very awkward making meal times a very unpleasant experience ( I do have his name and will gladly give this to the hotel if requested) |Our only enjoyable day was when a lovely gentleman from Nepal replaced our water due to his day off. |On our departure morning he didn’t acknowledge us at all whilst we had our very early breakfast , so upsetting .|We have never experienced this in all the years we have travelled . |We noted several of the waiting staff were standing around chatting whilst other waiters were very busy . Definitely an area that needs to be addressed . |The Sunset Bar was lovely fantastic staff led by the very friendly and funny Raj , afternoon tea with yummy pancakes were fabulous all staff in that area were amazing. |The library has a great stock of books ( lots of German books as the guests are predominantly from Germany) still a good selection for the Brits . |A small bar adjacent to the restaurant is very cosy again staff lovely. |The house reef is unbelievable, so many fish , turtles , black reef tip sharks , Nurse sharks , ray’s just incredible , it was very choppy but my hubby was able to Snorkle with no issues between exits 5 - 7 . Dont forget your reef shoes as the coral is sharp .|The staff who look after the grounds are so smiley and happy and worked so hard clearing the numerous leaves due to the high winds . |Would we return to Filitheyo , sadly the answer is no … |We have given 4 stars purely on the magical House Reef .

The Filitheyo Island Resort is located in the quiet Faafu Atoll of the Maldives, about 120 km from Malé. It can be reached by seaplane followed by a short boat transfer. The island features white sandy beaches, tropical vegetation, and a clear lagoon with a vibrant house reef, perfect for snorkeling and diving. The food is also very tasty and varied.

I have been to the Maldives 6 times already. I was there 4 weeks ago with my husband and kids and because I felt so overwhelmed with joy in this happy place I decided to come back with my dad 4 weeks later. ||Upon researching islands I stumbled across Filitheyo island resort and liked the fact that it is in an Atoll I had not been to before and because it is so secluded and therefore decided to book.||Having spent a couple of days here I can only share my sheer admiration for this gem of an island. The beaches are serene and the housereef is stunning. It only 2 took me two snorkeling attemps to tick off one huge chunk in my bucket list: swimming with a turtle! The reef next to exit 4 is amazing and one can see nursesharks, a variety of fish and we even came across a muray eel. ||The food is varied and very tasty and I have especially appreciated the green salad and the crunchy, juicy tomatoes. The staff is lovely as well (for example, we were greeted with a complimentary massage upon arrival or just today while I was chilling on my sunbed I was offered a free coconut they had just retrieved from a palm tree - in the resort 4 weeks ago you had to pay 10 dollars for this - but here in Folitheyo luxury is spelled differently). ||If you are looking for some peace and quiet whilst endulging in the pristine underwater wildlife, unspoiled nature and lush gardens, this barefoot island is for you! I am looking forward to to spending another 11 days here and can only warmly recommend Filitheyo.

Been on the island three days now, island is lovely with a great house reef, made even better as we have access from our water villa ,food is excellent at both the main restaurant and sunset bar and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, only couple of downsides so far are having to pay for WiFi ?? Seems questionable given the price paid to get here and also having to pay for the pool table? Again seems penny pinching given the amount people pay to come to the island.no entertainment on an evening which is fine however a tv showing news, live sports etc would help in the bars
