This was our first time to the Maldives, and we did a lot of research before choosing Filitheyo. We wanted an excellent house reef, and an island with plenty of natural beauty. We definitely found both of those in Filitheyo! We had a water villa which was clean, spacious with every amenity we could wish for, |(the young man who looked after it for us did an exquisite job including splendid bed art for our 45th anniversary) and had the added feature of steps leading straight down into the turquoise water with a short swim to the fantastic reef. We’ve snorkelled in many places including the Red Sea but this excelled them all for the sheer abundance of fish and colourful coral, and the freedom to go where you choose. |We loved the no shoes feature of the resort, its laid back vibe, beautiful food (best all inclusive buffet we’ve ever had, ) fantastic jungle-like greenery, free boat trips (we went island hopping which included a snorkelling stop), the sea plane transfer, Filitheyo international airport, the sunsets from our west facing villa, etc etc etc… Also, it was one of the friendliest places we’ve ever stayed at, the staff of course (massive shout out to Jamaal!) but also our fellow guests, a rich blending of many nationalities who all got on well with each other. The Filitheyo effect??|Management: if we could make one suggestion: we don’t drink pop so the 8 cans of fizzy drinks in the mini bar were wasted on us. It would have been pleasant to have a beer or glass of wine on our terrace while admiring those fantastic sunsets.. Many fellow guests had visited the island multiple times, which is a recommendation in itself. We hope to join that happy group in the future. In other words, we WILL be back!

We went to Filitheyo at the middle to the end of May. The staff were friendly, our waiter Abdulla was the perfect blend of friendly, helpful yet not over the top. The bar staff were again the perfect blend of helpful yet not intrusive. We stayed in an over water villa. And although the rooms were tired they were scrupulously clean, the bed not very comfortable although they did add a mattress topper for us, which helped. Food was amazing so much choice I had sushi nearly every day! The reef is good but currents were very strong but I’m thinking it was the time of year we went. This was our 16th visit to the Maldives and the gardens were the best we have ever seen. We felt at home instantly upon our arrival. What a gem of an island.

Our time at Filitheyo Island Resort was nothing short of perfection. We stayed in Bungalow 108, and it truly felt like our own little piece of heaven on earth.||The bungalow was beautifully located, just steps from the turquoise water, with palm trees swaying in the breeze and total peace all around. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying sunsets right from our terrace was pure magic.||The entire team at Filitheyo made us feel welcome and cared for. From the friendly reception to the attentive waiters and the discreet, hardworking housekeeping staff – everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special.||Dining was a daily highlight – a wide selection of tasty, fresh dishes and stunning views at every meal. We especially enjoyed the Maldivian touches and themed nights.||Snorkeling around the island was phenomenal – vibrant marine life, healthy reefs, and calm waters made it ideal even for beginners. We saw turtles, rays, and countless tropical fish!||This resort is a gem for anyone looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and simply enjoy the beauty of island life. We left with full hearts and lifelong memories.||Can’t wait to return – thank you, Filitheyo!

It’s our first time in Maldives and found this resort to be one of the best resorts we have been to. I highly recommend stayin on the water villa. Exotic fishes are literally at your footsteps going down the ocean from your villa! It was amazing! The staff are all friendly and pleasant. Very helpful too! I will definitely come back! Attached are some photos I took during our first day. We had a half board but would recommend doing the all inclusive.

WHAT WE LOVED: the food, the over-water villa, most aspects of the snorkeling, and the affordability. We saw huge schools of fish, a 4 foot long moray eel, a 3 foot eagle ray, a turtle, many black tip sharks, a nurse shark and a white tip shark. Filitheyo is one of the best bargain resorts for an awesome house reef (even though we had to pay $40 for a Sim card at the airport, and pay for water and soft drinks at meals.)| |WHAT WE DID NOT LOVE: (1) The current! Swimming against the current was usually too difficult. When we snorkeled we had to get in at exit 4 and swim out at exit 7 (or vice versa, depending on current direction) and then walk back to pick up our towels and stuff. The current was like being on a lazy river water ride, but sometimes 2 or 3 times as fast. We saw a lot of cool sea life and because of that we’d consider coming here again, if we don’t, it will 100% be because of the current. |(2) The hot water/water pressure was not great in the superior villa, but we eventually discovered that we had to let the water run for 5-10 minutes to get hot.||TIP: Bring USD or Euros for tips. It was a little more obvious at this resort that staff was hoping for a tip, and we didn’t bring enough cash. Reception only let us use our credit card for a max of $20 USD cash. ||ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: *Be aware that bottled water and soft drinks are not included, even if you pay for half board or full board. It’s about $4-5 for a big bottle of water or a can of soda, and about $6.50 for draft beer. |*The resort no longer feeds nurse sharks, but they hang out at the dock near the dive shop. |*They have fruit bats! We were excited to see one on the north side of the island. |* Don’t be nervous about the sharks, they buzz right past you and don’t give you a second glance.

Our stay at Filitheyo Island was absolutely gorgeous! The island and its house reef are simply breathtaking, with stunning coral formations and an incredible variety of fish. Our villa was perfect—just a few steps from the reef, making it easy to explore the underwater beauty. The food was incredible—delicious and diverse, with a different cuisine to enjoy every night. The bar was fantastic, and the staff truly made our stay unique. A special thanks to Rabiul and Raj at the bar, who were always kind, friendly, and had the best attitude. The only issue we encountered was during checkout. We had planned for a late checkout to have lunch at the main restaurant and enjoy a few last drinks at the bar, but our departure time was suddenly changed without prior notice. We only found out because we happened to ask at reception. As a result, we left the resort earlier than expected, only to wait nearly an hour on the boat near the airport, which didn’t make much sense to us.Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay!

This is the second time we visited Filitheyo. It is awesome, paradise, outstanding, phenomenal. A lot of people revisit and that tells you how amazing Folitheyo is. Some guests we met have been 10’times. We totally understand why and we will come back again and again too.||It is so relaxed, I literally feel my brain clear of all its lists and this island is a healer for the kind body and soul.||Filitheyo has its own reef - you will see turtles literally thousands and thousands of beautiful fish. Yes there are black tip and white tip sharks but they are safe, I was initially scared but love watching g them cruise by, we saw eagle rays and snorkel from the water villas to bay 7 there is a bit of rock that sticks up and lion fish hang on it, look deep between bay 5and 6 and you will see eagle rays. Turtles spot by again looking frequently around and you will see when they pop up for air, we often saw them at the stick in front of the sunset bar and behind the water villas.||When snorkelling try to get a full body snorkelling suit as we were often in for 4 h and the back of our legs burnt despite factor 50 we had y-shirts on. Indhu in the shop was amazing and went out of her way to help and I was able to buy a snorkelling suit to cover my head hole body and after sun that literally she orders in specially as it is so hood and believe me it is my legs in one application felt much better.||The food is amazing, wide variety and I am usually a cereal and toast lady but i loved roti and spiced coconut mix, I loved the flavours of everything I ate.||That brings me on to Abdulla. We met Abdulla last year as I constantly went to the wrong section to eat and we used to laugh together. We love Abdulla, he like many more staff gives is heart to you. He is the nicest and friendliest and most genuine person we have ever met. He knows what drinks to get. He even made me necklaces and a boat! We adore Abdulla. He has created beautiful gardens.||Rai is so professional, he gives his heart and soul to his job, he works hard to ensure your never without a drink, or a towel or swat cushion and he makes you feel so happy and welcome. I loved Rai last year and was pleased to see him again.||As we had visited a second time we got a free return dinner on the beach. I can’t tell you in words just how wonderful that was. A lifelong memory was created that evening and Jerome was amazing, the food absolutely delicious. We also got a lovely shiraz (the red wine is lovely) and fruit. ||Kasheen - we adore Kasheen he worked so hard to ensure our room had everything we needed and his attention to detail and making a room wonderful was really appreciated including the little flower in the glass and milk. Kasheen was lovely to talk to.||Hussain, is really hood with card tricks he made us very welcome the first time and he went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel very special. ||All staff we have met have all been professional and they work phenomenally hard, they all work long hours and days away from family for long periods of time, yet each day they genuinely smile and give you their heart and soul and they do everything they can to make your holiday a dream come true.||There are many Maldives resorts, I have only been to Filitheyo and I believe it’s perfect. I love walking bare foot, It’s down to earth, naturally beautiful with no snobbery. We love FIlitheyo, you will too. ||Money - take american dollars.||Electricity plugs UK 3 pins are fine||All staff are

We can wholeheartedly recommend Filitheyo. The island is exactly how you imagine the Maldives: stunning vegetation, white sandy beaches, and simply paradise.||We traveled as a family with a 5-year-old child, and I have never encountered such child-friendly staff anywhere before. At the reception, he always got a high five, various waiters would constantly give him little gifts, and everyone always asked how he was doing. They even remembered his name immediately! At the pool bar, he would always get some cocktail cherries to snack on and often a little extra drink. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive.||One time, after swimming, he was feeling cold, and without us even asking, someone immediately brought him a large towel to keep him warm—even though we didn’t have a lounger there.||As a mom, this completely won my heart. But beyond that, everything was perfect for us. The food is excellent (the ice cream is amazing!!), the rooms are beautiful, and the house reef is simply fantastic.||All in all, an amazing vacation. A huge thank you to the entire Filitheyo team!
