Fillenwarth Beach Resort

We stayed in 156 which is able to sleep 14 but is really only comfortable for up to 8 in four small bedrooms. The others are expected to sleep on three fold out sofas in the main room. But sleeping is almost impossible due to the extremely loud air conditioning. This alone is why I would not stay here again. The inside is nice with two bathrooms plus two extra vanity setups, full kitchen, large dining table in the great room. The outside needs lots of attention. I swept the leaves and cobwebs from the deck and then washed off the table and chairs so we enjoyed lots of time on the deck with a lake view. But the place is in need of paint, repair and cleanup. Thankfully there was enough parking for our six vehicles. We just had to jockey around a few times. Be aware there is only one entrance and it is at the top of a flight of stairs.

The staff at Fillenwarth Beach is totally amazing. They are the friendliest staff I have ever had when staying somewhere. All of the staff you meet on the resort say hi and ask how your day is going. Whoever trains them does an excellent job. The staff in the office is also amazing. They go above and beyond to assist you in anyway possible. Lynn always has a smile on her face and is always so friendly. Rachel in the office really has her A game on at all times. She is willing to help in anyway pods and she always has a smile on her face too. This is such a great place to stay. If I could give 1000 stars I would. Thank you staff for another amazing stay. We will be back.

Fillen-what-now? Can a Resort With a Funny Name Really Be This Good?” Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Heck yes. We booked last minute—as in, "are we really doing this?" last minute—and somehow, during the 4th of July festivities, they still managed to get us in without a hitch. You’d expect things to be a little chaotic that weekend, but nope. The service was top-shelf. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and somehow made our stay feel like we were the only ones on the property. We felt looked after the entire time, and that warmth made our experience even better. Now, I'm mostly a dumb cat fisherman—the kind that chucks out a hunk of meat and drags it around—but even I was able to tie into more than my fair share of largemouth bass right off the resort’s docks. Bass were thick as rats, and I’m not exaggerating. There were even pike and smallmouth lurking around. If the fish were any more cooperative, they’d have been knocking on the door asking for selfies. Location? Unreal. You're parked right on West Lake Okoboji with jaw-dropping views, perfect access to the water, and even complimentary paddle boats to cruise the shoreline like a slow-moving pirate. Between the fishing, the scenery, and the staff’s hospitality, it was exactly the kind of getaway we hoped for—and way more than we expected given how last-minute our plans were. Final verdict: Fillenwarth might sound like a Tolkien side character, but it’s actually a top-notch resort with charm, service, and fishing that’ll make you grin like you just found an extra beer in the cooler. We’ll definitely be back.

We love Fillenwarth Beach Resort. We took our kids there when they were young, and now we got to enjoy it with our grandkids! Our tub did not drain. We reported it 3 times, and no one came to fix it. That did not keep us from enjoying our week there. We enjoyed the activities and walking distance to Arnold's Park. Highly recommend Fillenwarth to anyone looking for a family-friendly vacation spot!!!

Lynn (the owner) gave us a wonderful experience!! The weather was unfortunate when we stayed there, but that didn’t stop our experience from being one our family will remember as a great one!! They had plenty to do despite the rain! The office gals were such a delight that my 4yr old son wanted to play with them the entire time! lol. Loved our stay and we will be back for sure!!! We had one of the cabins that was well maintained plenty of Room. Close proximity to the beach and it's great having an indoor pool when the weather doesn't cooperate just a really great location with close proximity to most everything

I grew up coming to Fillenwarth. My mother grew up coming to Fillenwarth. One of my husband’s aunts grew up coming to fillenwarth. We have had 30+ people family reunions here. Sometimes there aren’t enough hours in the day to do all things we want to do with all of the activities they offer free of charge. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend you make fillenwarth your families tradition!

My family has been vacationing here every summer for over 10 years! Over the years our family has grown so much, and it’s so special to have a place we all love and look forward to going to together. There is so much to do for all ages at the resort and in the area around it. The staff is incredibly kind and always willing to go above & beyond. Also, they are very dog friendly! Our dog absolutely loves the lake and we enjoy the opportunity to bring him with us. If you’re looking to start a new tradition, I highly recommend Fillenwarth ♥️

This summer was our third stay at Fillenwarth Beach. It's kind of rustic, but has everything you need, and then some. A great place for a family vacation. Fishing gear, paddle boats, canoes, ping-pong, crafts, wine tasting, boat rides, water skiing, chocolate tasting. Even if there is bad weather you will find something to do. And it is close to Arnolds Park so there are plenty of shops and restaurants to walk to. We love Fillenwarth and could not recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful family friendly resort. Includes free canoes, paddle boats and kayaks. Enjoy free cruise around the lake in one of their 49 ft boats. Free sailboat rides and water skiing. Indoor and outdoor pools, tennis court, basketball and sand volleyball, shuffleboard and tether ball. There are lounge chairs set up all around to enjoy the view of the beautiful lake and awesome sunsets!! We will definitely be coming back. Julie and her staff are amazing

We have visited Fillenwarth Beach over Memorial Day Weekend for several years and we absolutely love it! The staff is incredibly friendly, the facilities are clean and well kept and there is plenty to keep you busy if you want, or lots of places to hangout if you just want to relax. It's also within blocks of some of the best nightlife in the area. We go during the off-season, so the rates are very reasonable at that time, but I am not sure how things compare during peak times. We recommend Fillenwarth Beach to anyone looking for a great Okoboji experience!

Incredible customer service. Forgot a Yeti thermos and a pair of shorts in our cabin, yet when I called to see if they found my thermos, I was told yes it was found along with the shorts and they were already being shipped to me. Wow.

I stayed in a one bedroom cabin with my boyfriend. We visited in September so we didn't go swimming or spend much time on the lake. We did go on the cocktail cruise, which was included with our stay, and had a lot of fun. The cabin itself was cute and had an efficient layout. The main lodge had ping pong, pool, and vintage pac man to play. We were visiting during the off season, so we got a great rate. It was a cool rainy weekend, but we still had a great time.

Great accommodations included in initial charges (booze cruise, water ski lessons, game room, indoor & outdoor pools, canoes, paddle boats, tons of stuff). Family friendly, fun, clean.
