Compelling location surrounded by interesting new food and drink spots. A bold building and bare entrance, totally unlike a commercial cinema. All sorts of films from everywhere, always in the original version. Comfy seating and good sound. Totally delighted it's in my neighbourhood.

Filmoteca de Catalunya has two salas you can see movies olds and news from the current festivals all in original version, you also can buy passes for a few shows at a moderate price or only one session, the building is modern and well design, I love it.

A little paradise for cinema lovers in the most multicultural neighborhood of Barcelona, El Raval. Every month they have a special program with classic films from all of the world and for a really good price.

They have specialized cinema books, magazines and movies. You can ask for the one year credential and take for home the films or books. I love this place, they have a very interesting compilation of documentary exercises of the film schools at Catalunya: UAB (documental creativo) ESCAC and UB.

Went to a free session. Great cinema, spacious, incredible film (Ma vie de Courgette). Helpful staff, free programme guide. Would definitely go back.

It's a real shame that a place like this, subsidised with public money, has such a "bar", to call it so, dirty with some of the staff disgustingly ill-mannered and totally unprofessional when they are simply reminded that there's not even toilet paper in none of their bathrooms. Disgusting place that shows a real picture of what is going on in many places of a city which lives on marketing and cheap tourism. A real bomb-shell. "Filmoteca" & the city deserves something else. That kind of uneducated staff would never be hired in any civilised place not even if they payed on top.

Very nice building, the library is great, very quiet and has many seats with charging stations. Besides, there is a restaurant and a small museum, and the staff are very kind and friendly. It cost 1€ for one day visit, or 5 euros for a year subscription. I enjoyed it.

Best & cheapest place in Barcelona to watch classical films. Credit cards accepted. Yet sometimes captions are in very formal or normative Catalan. Also there's a bookshop devoted to cinema. There's always a very disgusting smell in the room cinemas like waste water.

Yelp
Went here for the free exhibition. Amazing pictures of Hollywood history, movies, and actors/actresses. Yet another free attraction in Barcelona that is definitely worth going to. I do want to mention the exhibition plaques/explanations are not in English.

Yelp
I love cinema, and when I was in LA I used to go to the Aero in Sta Monica. Here in Barcelona you have to go to the FilmoTeca de Catalunya. The new location was opened 4-6 ago. It is completely new and the new theaters are amazing. The chairs are super comfortable and the big theater is huge, I think it can it 500 people, with a huge screen. Sound quality is also top notch. Don't expect to see blockbusters. You will have old movies, or new movies that don't get to the normal theaters. Also they host thematic movies, for instance, they showed a selection of german movies with the help of the Goethe institute. Don't look for popcorn, you wont find them in the FilmoTeca. ON the other side look for a great cultural experience.
