This was booked as part of a walking holiday, and we were due to stay just 2 nights before moving on. The stunning house looks like it has evolved over centuries, but was actually built by the family less than 40 years ago. The rooms were suites, with sitting area / child's room and up to date en-suites They were very comfortable, as was the rest of the house. The large orangery with spectacular views, the sitting room with large open log fire, and the outside sitting areas were all special. The Covid-19 'shut down' came on our first day, which meant we couldn't travel on. Sam and Jeannie & Family couldn't have been more helpful, agreeing to us staying on for another 3 days until our rearranged flight, despite the pressure to close. The hospitality was exceptional. The food was the best gourmet, and would have been reason enough alone to justify the stay. (If you know of Ballymaloe, think of it as it was in the early years, and to my mind when it was at its best). We really felt looked after when everyone else from the travel and insurance companies had abandoned us. We are determined to return, but this time will book directly with Buenvino, as there were plenty of walks, of varying difficulty, that could be taken from the house, and you would not get a better place to stay.
