Me & my fiancée stayed at this hotel for a total of 4 nights. The area is beautiful and definitely away from the noise of the main city. The room we stayed in was private and was not connected to the main hotel establishment - giving a little sense of privacy. There was also an area for us to park our rental vehicle during our stay near our bedroom, it was like our temporary house. ||Customer Service 1.0/5:|The check-in to the hotel was very easy and straightforward. We paid roughly $50.00 per night which is not bad for the activities near the finca. Talking about the activities near the finca, there needs to be better advertisement from the staff about the activities nearby. Only during our last day did we learn that there was a cavern nearby that could be explored, a little lake trail in the finca grounds, and available horses for touring. Fortunately, we were able to do the horse tour but wish we were informed of the other activities. The only way we figured out all of these activities was from a group of volunteers working in the finca. ||Room Service 1.0/5:|There was minimal room service. We got clean towels and soap every day, however, our beds were never made at any point during our 4-night stay and I saw no evidence of cleaning. We also asked to use a clothing iron and instead of getting a straightforward answer we instead got from the front desk staff that to use the iron we would have to put a Q200 deposit. Which seemed a little ridiculous since we are guests staying at the finca. I understand that there might be some concern about possible customers stealing the clothing iron… however, the right approach is to explain the situation and ask for the deposit. Not just ask for the deposit in a hostile manner. This was surprising as it was one of the people in charge as they had a black “Finca Ixobel” shirt. We were eventually allowed to borrow the clothing iron without a deposit.||Food Quality & Taste 3.5/5:|The food was a little overpriced for the quantity of food provided, but it was worth it for the taste and quality. However, the finca makes its own bread which was very delicious. We highly recommend that you try the cinnamon roll and the guava spread (which is made in-house). ||Summary 2.0/5:|Overall, if you care about pricing, privacy, the lack of noise, and the activities near the finca then I would recommend coming to Finca Ixobel. Otherwise, if you prefer a hotel experience with standard customer service, room service, and basic amenities I would go with another place. We aren’t personally interested in staying here our next time in Poptun.
