My friend and I recently stayed 5 nights at Finca Ixobel. We found our stay very comfortable and a good value for our money. We had lived and worked for several years in Poptun often visiting the Finca for day escapes during that time. On this visit back to visit friends and their families we stayed at the Finca. ||Our room in the Galaxia was very pleasant --- the second floor room was like a screened in treehouse in the jungle with a private clean bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the balcony was a nice place to relax in the evening. WiFi connection was excellent. ||The previous reviewer was quite negative about the changes---that was not our experience. Indeed, some things have changed as does everything, but not the character of the place. The patio dining area was being remodeled during our visit. ||The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating to us. We had 2 breakfast/lunch meetings/gatherings with friends and everything was great! The food brought back memories of years ago and I enjoyed the cinnamon biscoches!|Thank you for a making our return visit to Poptun a pleasant stay!

On our way from Rio Dulce to Tikal we stopped at Finca Ixobel for one night. Beautiful grounds, good restaurant and clean rooms.

Really lovely staff and well kept grounds with large clean rooms. Restaurant was very good and popular with locals. We stayed 4 days before leaving for Flores. Staff were helpful with travel plans too. It was rather quiet in terms of guests but it was low season. Wild swimming pool was nice too.

I have visited Finca Ixobel before, and my family and I had fond memories of it.. I so wanted to visit the River Cave again, eat their wonderful organic food from their gardens that I remember and experience the menagerie of eco-friendly people from all over visiting...|Unfortunately things have changed...|The River Cave is off limits, the food is really really bad... no gardens any more, they are using very unhealthy additives like Hydrogenated soybean oil and monosodium glutamate in the form of Maggi chicken bouillon for everything.... The staff seems very unhappy and some of them are right unfriendly and rude.. needless to say, I will never go back.

I don't know much about this place so I am commenting only on things I know. I went there with a group for a coffee. The coffee was very good. I also wandered around (their garden) and photographed beautiful flowers. So did my companion. See a few attached pictures.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We had damaged our car on arrival which was attended to by a handy man on site free of charge and staff were happy to prepare a pack lunch when we had to leave very early. The place has a relaxed, casual feel. The rooms align with the environment and the food at the restaurant is fantastic. They have a bakery on site and meals are big enough to share and reasonably priced. Highly recommend

It is one of the most beautiful places between Rio Dulce and Flores. We stayed there with my two kids (7 and 3 yo) in a tree house. Awesome experience and the sounds of the nature during the night were beautiful. We did some short trekking and even though the path was muddy and challenging, the kids adore it. The food was enough and the homemade bread was delicious.

The treehouses are located on the campground. This is a very nice area with lots of birds. Although the bathroom is downstairs, the comfort of the treehouse is good. The restaurant serves good food for a reasonable price and the staff is friendly.||There is no wifi in the treehouses, so you have to walk 150 meter to the main restaurant for wifi.We had a nice and comortable stay!
