Great place for climbers and socializing although at times it can be very crowded. Generally we felt very good and the staff(Crespo) was great and helpful but there are 2 issues that I wanted to point out in the La Arana house. The shower was always clogged and there was a lot of mold on the ceiling and a general smell of mold in the whole house which is a public health issue and needs to be resolved.

I booked a “bunk” in their “bunkhouse” I was put on a mattress on the floor that was touching someone else’s mattress. I had about 2 feet to the left I could move the mattress, but moving it caused me to block the entrance to the bathroom. There is almost no airflow in the back room of the bunk house. I have stayed in many hostels, in almost just as many large dormitories. I have never had a worse hostel experience than I did at Finca. Do not stay here unless there are no other options.

Great, vibrant camping for climbers. Well equipped shop at the reception. U can also hire climbing and Ferrata gear. At Fri and Sat the best wood owen pizza!

Stayed in a double room which was small but perfect for the two of us. Generally clean facilities and well equipped kitchen. Reason I give 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of food storage (especially the fridges). I wouldn't care much in a city where you have restaurants and grocery stores everywhere, but in El Chorro you very much depend on being able to bring enough food for days in advance. When I arrived, there was absolutely zero space for storage, and the fridges were already so full that it was hard to close them. We had a bunch of food that went bad much earlier than it should, because the fridges didn't close. Then, when it already was this full, a crew of ~15 arrived with all of their groceries. I'm not even gonna go into what it was like to try to use the kitchen during breakfast/dinner time. It's probably fine when there are fewer people, but it seems like Finca takes guests way past capacity.

We stayed in one of the rustic houses. It had a great view over the hills and mountains in the distance. The guy on reception was welcoming and helpful. Closest decent supermarket is pretty far by car so remember to bring things with you. Otherwise they sell some things at the reception. There weren't many people when we were there but it seems a great place for climbers and those seeking adventure! Less so for families as it's fairly shabby, but that's part of its charm.
