La Donaira (Montecorto, Andalusia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Finca La Donaira is more than a hotel — it’s also a working organic farm, a high-end stable dedicated to Lusitano horses, and a collection of active experiences scattered about its extensive Andalusian grounds. It sums up the southern Spanish good life rather neatly, and on a firmly eco-conscious foundation. The restored farmhouse shelters nine individually decorated rooms, each furnished with tasteful antiques and an intoxicating medley of weather-worn stone, reclaimed wood, adobe, and luxe textiles." - Tablet Hotels

Fantastic experience. The hotel centres arounds its amazing food and creative menu, using fresh ingredients sourced direct from their farm. Set dinner times of 7:30 and 9:30, with wine parings for each course. The food is delicious, imaginative and will keep foodies happy, whilst the less adventurous may look longingly at the children's menu (or ask the amazing chef to accommodate a specific request)||The hotel only has 9 rooms, so there is a personalised touch from the staff and a feeling of privacy throughout. We stayed in the Sophia suite for 5 nights. The children loved the upstairs loft. The rooms were extremely well presented, cleaned daily, the beds and bedding were amazingly comfortable.||There are two pools, indoor and outdoor. The outdoor is filled via a natural spring. Both open 24hours, and incredibly relaxing, and mostly empty. There is a self service bar, and a button for service also. ||The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the experiences kept the children occupied with all the activities we did including; horse riding, carriage ride, aerial yoga, archery, soap and lip balm making, farm tour and a sounds of nature walk with the donkeys. ||The location is amazing, a garden of eden with a maze of pathways winding through the medicinal garden (with over 150 types of plants), cobbled walkways up to the pool where you can grab an amazing view of the sunset.||Overall it was an excellent experience, and one we both said we would return again to do,

Unique hotel with personalized service that is connected intimately to its biodiverse and gorgeous setting. Food: The food wonderfully highlighted the many vegetables and herbs grown on the property. We toured the gardens and farms from which we were eating. We also enjoyed letting the talented chefs decide what we would be eating for every meal. They even made purees for our baby to eat. Activities: Scenic hikes starting right from the hotel with sightings of many horses, donkeys, foxes, small birds, vultures, and eagles. The location is incredibly scenic. We had a wine tasting with the sommelier who had made many of the wines we were tasting by hand (and foot). The massages and spa were also top notch. We had plenty to do without leaving the property. Overall, an unforgettable and special experience.

I don’t ever do reviews, but I’m making an exception because this place was amazing. My only reservation is that it might become too popular. The atmosphere, the accommodations, the gorgeous historic buildings and gardens, the, degree of service, and the food and activities were beyond , beyond. The most effective and kind and caring concierge services I have ever encountered. Always available to address any detail or issue. If you’re an equestrian, the Lusitano horse breeding operation is world class. If you’re more adventurous, they can arrange paragliding and canyoneering down gorgeous waterfalls. Or you can just chill next to the pool or in the spa.Virtually everything you eat and drink comes fresh from the ranch. No chemicals, no additives, no hormones. Everything absolutely fresh. Overall an amazing and enlightening experience. Will return as soon as we can.

La Donaira is an absolutely stunning place, but what truly makes it unforgettable is the incredible team. Every single person is kind, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive to your every need. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home — more like part of a family than just a guest. A magical experience in every way. We hope to be back very soon!

Wow wow wow! I mean… in a very tranquil, balanced, restorative sort of way. ||My wife and I just returned from a couple of days at La Donaira. I took her as a surprise for her 40something-th (I won't tell) birthday. This is someone who hates surprises, and was weary of whatever I had planned. But upon arriving at La Donaira, my super-hard-working, oft-exhausted wife’s shoulders dropped for the first time in a long time. From the moment we were checked in at the office in nearby El Gastor by a smiling quadralingual woman with a cool glass of water and homemade cookies, we knew we would be well cared for. But nothing prepared us for the depth and degree of our experience. It's only in returning to our lives now that we realize quite how special La Donaira is. The gorgeous landscape as far as the eye can see. The incredible food, pretty much the very definition of farm to table. You can’t get more local than looking out at the fields providing the meals while you're eating them. And the food itself? Last night’s lunch started with the best soup I’ve had in my life. I even took a picture, which doesn't do it justice.||Not to mention 100 (no exaggeration) of the most gorgeous horses in the world, and the opportunity to ride and interact with them. The most incredible wines, grown organically on the property. (My wife lived in Napa Valley when we met. She came home with 4 bottles of what she says is the best red she’s ever tasted.) An exceptional massage. A tour of the medicinal gardens (that alone a 90-minute experience). Magnificent sunsets. Skies full of stars. Exceptionally helpful and kind staff: there for your every need, but unobtrusive all the same. And, as much as anything else, the absolute tranquility. *That* is what we experienced most deeply, and we only know by the stark contrast of returning to our lives away from this magnificent experience. ||The manager of the place, Ronald, approached us at one of our meals and asked how we were doing. My wife responded that this might be the best day of her life. Mission accomplished, and so much more. ||My wife and I have travelled all over the world, to somewhere between 40 and 50 countries. We live to travel and have experienced the best and the not-so from the mountains to the sea. I’ve very rarely written reviews of the places we’ve been. But the experience we had at La Donaira has been transcendent. I’m almost hesitant to post this review—to disgorge such a precious gem and expose it to the world. But I now see that there are a ton of other 5-star reviews for this place. So, add us to that list.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Place Like No Other – A True Home for the Soul I’ll gladly admit it: I’m a repeater. I’ve had the joy of staying at Finca La Donaira three or four times already – and by now, it no longer feels like being a guest. It feels like coming home to friends, to family. La Donaira is a place full of magic. You’ll find absolute peace, beautifully designed spaces and rooms, and quite possibly the best service you could ever imagine – not just in Europe, but on this planet. From the moment of booking to the massages, yoga sessions, and the truly extraordinary food – everything is handled with care, authenticity, and soul. The cuisine is a world of its own: almost entirely sourced from the farm itself, fresh, organic, and prepared with incredible skill and love. I especially want to mention – even though I still don’t know all the names – the wonderful team: Laura, Emma, Miriam, Sonja, Fernando, David, and David Raya Moreno, whose passion for natural wines turns every lunch and dinner into a unique experience. And of course, Manuel and his wife – what they create from the finca’s produce is simply beyond words. La Donaira is more than just a place – it’s an experience that touches you deeply and stays with you long after you leave. Thank you for creating this rare, soulful retreat. I will return again and again – and each time, it feels more and more like coming home.

Beautiful place. Literal garden of Eden feel to the place. This is a hotel that is for families. So we experienced lots of kids running around. So, if you go as a couple, prepare for the noise kids can bring:). Food requires the adventurous type of person. I found myself longing for a simple hamburger. All in all, beautiful place to unwind. Glad we gave the place a try.

Much more than a hotel, staying here is a complete experience and an immersion into a new ecosystem. If you have the privilege & opportunity to book, do not hesitate. I stayed during the summer - an overdue review - and the freshwater pool was an incredible feature of my stay! Every detail on the property feels thought out and rooted in place. It’s inspiring to see the insects and animals happily interacting with the lush surroundings and a treat to taste items from the gardens and farm on your plate. The meals are nourishing, creative and delicious plus the staff always make you feel at home. The service from the booking process to the final waving goodbye felt so personalized. Throughout the stay everyone does a brilliant job leaving you to your own devices while also making you feel looked after. I hope that I’ll have another chance to visit and that others will have a similarly transformative experience here.
