Visiting La Manuela was an unforgettable experience. Our tour guide, José, walked us through the house and shared detailed stories about the property, as well as the life of Pablo Escobar and his family. His knowledge and storytelling really brought the history to life.
The house itself is impressive and appears to have been built with great taste, clearly reflecting the opulent lifestyle of the drug lord at that time. Seeing it in person gives powerful context to the era and helps you understand the immense wealth involved.
More importantly, the tour offers a sobering perspective on how deeply Colombia suffered during the years when Escobar was literally running the drug cartels. It’s not just a tour of a property, but a meaningful historical experience that helps visitors better understand the country’s past.
I truly love visiting Colombia — its people, its history, and its rich culture. Experiences like this deepen that appreciation even more.
