"Set just north of Cancún, Finest Playa Mujeres pairs bone-white sand dunes and deep-blue Caribbean vistas with artful landscaping and wood finishes throughout the resort design, making it feel beautifully integrated with the landscape. Family-friendly amenities are extensive—kids club, baby care, spa treatments for all ages—and the resort’s 12 on-site dining options range from a casual food truck to a Brass Steakhouse, promising repeat visits rather than a one-and-done stay." - CNT Editors

Great attention to detail in exteriors and interiors. Clean and hygienic. Very accommodating in special food requests as a vegetarian - loved Shoji- fried rice and udon noodles - breakfast/brunch at The Market Kitchen, Egg whites and waffles at Duke’s Lobster. Every restaurant we had as a vegetarian was great food. Food truck nachos were refreshing alongside the fresh Coconut Water and juice blends at the Sweet Corner Cafe were amazing. Kid loved the day time/night time play area - Isabelle was so welcoming - as well as the water slides. Room service was quick round the clock to help with any requests we had for our toddler. Lovely smiling staff all around the property.

Hector, Kevin, and Alexander were all absolutely amazing!!! But all the staff was genuinely amazing!! The Mexican Party on Thursday is a must!!!! Food was delicious and the show was fantastic!! Also loved the Tappanyaki at the Japanese restaurant...food was delicious!! It is a very family friendly resort but also we're alot of weddings as well. I liked that they had a separate adult pool, so my daughter and I could have some time away from the kiddos. The resort was also able to coordinate a catamaran tour to the island which was perfect!! Definitely recommend!! Some of the food was great...some could be better!

It was okay. Honestly was a bit upset that they switched out the rooms last minute and told us few days prior even though we booked it months in advance. Got stuck in the last room of a building which attracted too many mosquitoes for some reason. Elevators are very small and has one per building so stairs were faster. Food was mediocre, seems like they all tasted pretty much the same. Restaurant portions were small given that it was All Inclusive but the service was great and everyone was helpful. Nothing really stood out even though each restaurant had their special theme. Location is bit north compared to the main hotel areas so its definitely quieter and recommend for families with kids. I personally don’t recommend for adults only trip. The resort is very secure and secluded hotel that is good for families with younger children. Rooms were a bit disappointing and had just the bare minimum to get by. Transportation was good, finding them at the airport might be tricky for some, but if you follow the directions given by the hotel management, shouldn’t run into any issues with the scammers lurking in and outside of the airport.

Resort Review: Playa del Mujures, Cancun|By a seasoned traveler who’s seen it all|After years of bouncing between resorts around the world, it takes a lot to impress me. Playa del Mujures in Cancun? It didn’t just impress—it set a new standard.|Rooms:|Let’s start with the rooms—spotless. I mean genuinely clean, not just surface wiped or "good enough." Every detail was on point, from crisp linens to the gleaming bathroom fixtures. Housekeeping was consistent and thorough every single day. It felt like walking into a fresh space every time I returned.|Restaurants & Coffee Shop:|The food scene here is seriously underrated. Each restaurant had its own personality, but they all delivered where it counts—flavor, quality, and service. The highlight? The coffee shop. It’s more than a caffeine stop—it’s home to some of the best gelato I’ve ever tasted. Rich, creamy, and served with zero pretension. I may have “stopped by” more than once a day. No regrets.|Beach:|The beach is exactly what you’d hope for in Cancun—crystal-clear water and meticulously maintained sand. No seaweed issues, no trash, no over-crowding. Just clean, wide-open shoreline and plenty of loungers. You could spend hours out there without lifting a finger (which I happily did).|Gym:|Now for the real showstopper: the gym. I’ve seen my share of hotel gyms around the globe—this one tops them all. Massive space, modern equipment, well-ventilated, and shockingly clean. But what really sets it apart is Fernanda, the in-house trainer. She’s the real deal—knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely passionate about fitness. Whether you’re looking to fine-tune your routine or just get moving after a beach day, she’s the person you want in your corner.|Bottom line:|Playa del Mujures isn’t just another resort—it’s a resort that gets everything right. Clean, comfortable, delicious, and refreshingly human. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Bernie M

Booked a Two-Story Ocean Front Excellence Club suite 8 months before arrival. The day before we left on the trip I received a call telling me that my room was not available and that the only room was a junior sweet garden / pool view. Ugh. Tried to talk to a supervisor but to no avail. Arrived at the original resort (Excellence next door - Adult only) to be told that our room was in Building 1 and that there were no other rooms available in the whole resort. This is mid-October, the slow season. Not one other room??? You put us in the worst room possible, the farthest away from anything, when I reserved one of the top rooms? Doesn't make any sense. I asked again to speak to a supervisor and had to go through two people to finally talk to the higher up, only to be told again, there was nothing they could do and it is what it is. I was not ok and asked if they could speak to the sister resort next door (Finest Playa Mujeres). In the end they were able to shift us over to this resort to a swim up pool room for 1 night. I spoke with the GM, Adrian G. and she found a room the next day that was close to what we asked for originally (partial ocean view). The staff at Finest took care of us the rest of the trip with excellent dinner setups and nice room arrangements every day. Overall it was a good trip, just started off really bad.||Would we go back ???? That is where I am stuck. We like the resort location and really wanted to try out the Excellence adult only side but with the terrible service at that resort and not holding a 8 month reservation I fear it will happen again. We want to take our entire family next year for our 25th anniversary but I have some thinking to do about it.||Overall the resort is clean, good food, beach is clean, no sales people, staff is attentive to what you need, very friendly. I would recommend Finest Playa Mujeres to anyone looking to travel to Cancun.

Okay, here’s my very long and exhaustive Finest Playa Mujeres review: ||The Room: We were in building 2 with a private pool. Overall the room was nice - they folded out the couch for us. However some things don’t make sense. The light switches aren’t actually switches and are instead just squares on the wall that seem to do something different every time you touch it lol. ||There are no hooks which is super frustrating. The only hooks are the two towel hooks that are inside the shower, so that isn’t helpful. There’s also a lot of wasted space on the wall that could be used as storage but isn’t. ||The room says it can accommodate up to 4 people, but when we ordered room service, we had to sit on the floor around the coffee table because there isn’t seating or table area for four people. ||We got a room with a private pool and it was perfect for us - the baby was able to nap while we swam or hung out on the patio. ||The room also has a giant jacuzzi tub that was perfect for playing in when we needed something to do but didn’t want to get sandy or chlorine-y. ||We did have an issue with our phone where their system would show the wrong room number when we called to order room service, which resulted in our food being delivered to the wrong room multiple times despite our best efforts to make sure they knew which room we were actually calling from. ||The Bathroom: There isn’t a door that closes/latches, so my husband was always a little nervous while showering because he didn’t want one of the girls barging in by accident. ||The shower isn’t closed either - it’s quite large, and open at the end. The size would be nice if there was more than one shower head. There is a rain shower head and a handheld one, but you can’t have them both on at the same time, so for a family like mine where us girls like to shower all at once, someone is freezing all the time. The shower floor is also incredibly slippery. Next time I will bring something that can go on the shower floor to make it less slippery. ||The Beach: Very well cared for. We saw the tractor come by multiple times a day to clean up the seaweed, and each morning the sand closer to the sitting area had been raked and cleaned up. ||We reserved a beach cabana which is fantastic, highly recommend, but I’d like if the server came around more often. I thought maybe it was because it was slow season so they didn’t have as many people working, but there didn’t seem to be a staffing shortage - workers all over the place. ||We weren’t part of Finest Club, but we did have access to the Finest Club beach concierge because of our cabana, so we were able to use the sand toys which was a game changer for the kids. ||The Service: The service in general was not Beloved-level, but it was still well above the other AI resort I’ve experienced (Planet Hollywood). The turndown service is my favorite. Absolutely love coming back to a room at the end of the evening with the curtains drawn, the lighting low, and the spa channel on the TV. ||The Spa: I got a 50 minute massage which was lovely! They clearly go out of their way to make sure you feel relaxed. ||The Food: We’re sad to see the Beach Snacks menu be cut down so significantly. Fish tacos and ceviche were our favorites. Now all there is to choose from is a burger, hot dog, and quesadilla. Food was good though. ||We went to Shoji (Asian) twice and it was great. ||Mexican Night: This was the most fantastic food experience ever. They spent the entire day decorating the space, and the food was phenomenal. I wish I got more pictures of the food. It was buffet style with a ton of authentic Mexican dishes. There was live music and the show was Coco themed. ||Kids Club: We didn’t drop our kids off at the kids club, but we did go check out the swimming area. The blob for older kids was super cool, and there’s a structure with 6 or 7 slides of varying sizes for kids 3+. ||Entertainment: We saw the Peter and Pirates show, as well as the Michael Jackson show. Both were impressive and enjoyed by the whole family. ||Overall, I would highly recommend this resort for families! We will be back!

First of all, I really don’t understand why the rate is 4.9 here. That’s so misleading! When we arrived in, there was no hot water in the room. We called the front desk, but no one answered. Every time we had to call room service, then got transferred to correct department! The technicians came twice, but still cannot get HOT water, only warm, and this cost almost 3 hours. We asked to get a new room cause we didn’t want to deal with the problem, the supervisor said the hotel was fully booked, and we needed to pay extra to get a better room. Hello??? This was not even the peak period. Looked at the empty lobby empty theater, and she told us fully booked. What a joke! Obviously, she just wanted us to pay more than what we expected. This is like an ancient trick in the hotel industry. Not surprised! Room was super stinky as well. Grateful we also booked the excellent club room for two nights which is way better. Even though the room was noisy because of the AC, we finally got some hot shower water! Unfortunately, we got sick because of the cold water in the first room…..I would say the pool outside had more warmer water than the room… the food is okay, but serviced super slow. We were the second table and only ordered 5 dishes in the Asian restaurant, while it took 2 hours to get the food ready……. Anyways, this hotel is kinda wasting money and time. I have been visiting Cancun every year in the past 5 years. I love this city. Everybody I met was so nice, welcoming and friendly! But never felt this upset and wanted to go home when I stayed in this resort! Overall, giving two stars because excellent staffs/event staffs were friendly to us and they would get 5 stars for sure. But the room itself minus 10 stars!
