This is such a wonderful and historic place to come, even if it’s just for a walk. I have been several times now and have always enjoyed returning. The views are fantastic with the Naval Facilities on Garden Island on one side and the Gardens and homes on the other. The sculptures along the boardwalk and inside the wharf help to make the visit even better. I love to come just for the sculptures sometimes. It’s great to just wander from one sculpture to another and just look and appreciate each one. If you wanted to you could enjoy a walk from the wharf around to Mrs Macquaries Chair, The Domain, The Botanical Gardens , The Opera House and beyond. The wharf has several renowned restaurants if you wanted to dine there including OTTO Ristorante, China Doll and more. There’s also the Ovolo Hotel where you can actually stay in the wharf. The Wharf is also Heritage Listed and was a former passenger terminal where it acted as a staging point for troop deployment to the World Wars as well as a disembarking point for migrants to Australia 🇦🇺. It was also a wharf where it mainly handled the export of wool. It was built from 1910-1915 by the Sydney Harbour Trust and designed by Henry D. Walsh. The property is now owned by Transport For NSW and the structure is the longest timbered-piled wharf in the world 🌎. Today, as well as the restaurants and the hotel, the wharf also has residential apartments. It’s a really upscale area now, very expensive to live and the restaurants are quite pricy. Saying this, it’s very nice. I really like it. There is parking 🅿️ but if busy, can fill quick. Or you can get a bus 🚌. I would definitely recommend a visit. A Thumbs Up from me! 👍👍👍
