Stopped for lunch in the middle of a walk at Castle Drogo. Lovely day in September so outside tables nearly full but service was prompt. Very good ham & tomato and tuna mayonnaise baguettes. Fab walks by the river, parking & dog friendly.

We had cavary for a birthday party and had two long tables in their event space easily seating 20 people with room for lots more. They also had seating outside and in the bar! The food and service was brilliant and the location very picturesque. Plenty of parking with river walks.

Spectacular location. Perfect if you can get a seat on the riverbank. We enjoyed a riverside coffee, walked along the river abd returned for lunch. Good ploughman's and ham egg and chips. Prices reasonable for location .

Been here a few times and while you have to time it right to get a table outside when it's sunny, it's always a pleasant experience. A fair few gluten free options (my personal favourite is the falafel) and friendly staff. Dogs are also welcome and it's great to sit by the river and enjoy the sun. Would easily recommend.

We stop here on a detour off the Two Moors Way for some much need food. It was Easter Sunday. We are practicing some sections before the whole lot in July. I have to say so much impressed me about our visit! It was crazy busy but the welcome and professionalism of all the staff was fantastic. They seated us after a 10 or so minute wait and our order was taken with perfect amount of time for us to have made our choices. Drinks came quickly and food not long after. Food wasn't cheap but the portions were really good and service and efficiency to match! We will be back 22nd July definitely! Great example of how to manage a busy venue. EDIT We came back and really enjoyed our second visit too.

What a beautiful setting for a Pub. Lunch out side by the river (even on drizzle day) Food was amazing, super well catered for diety requirements. Be prepared to leave full, good portion sizes. Lovely staff Dog friendly
