Spectacular location. Perfect if you can get a seat on the riverbank. We enjoyed a riverside coffee, walked along the river abd returned for lunch. Good ploughman's and ham egg and chips. Prices reasonable for location .

Been here a few times and while you have to time it right to get a table outside when it's sunny, it's always a pleasant experience. A fair few gluten free options (my personal favourite is the falafel) and friendly staff. Dogs are also welcome and it's great to sit by the river and enjoy the sun. Would easily recommend.

We stop here on a detour off the Two Moors Way for some much need food. It was Easter Sunday. We are practicing some sections before the whole lot in July. I have to say so much impressed me about our visit! It was crazy busy but the welcome and professionalism of all the staff was fantastic. They seated us after a 10 or so minute wait and our order was taken with perfect amount of time for us to have made our choices. Drinks came quickly and food not long after. Food wasn't cheap but the portions were really good and service and efficiency to match! We will be back 22nd July definitely! Great example of how to manage a busy venue.

We stop at this picturesque pub quite often. The location is great and you’d expect a great score on the review BUT it’s the most weird service which lets the place down every time we stop in. They actively discourage you from walking up to the bar, which is frustrating when you want to see what drinks are on offer. They also do a strict wait to be seated thing, even when pub is nearly empty. It’s almost like the management love partial Covid restrictions still. All very odd. The other thing is the decor - it’s stuck in the 80s so best to get a table outside if weather permits (and of course staff) permit!

Lovely old fashioned pub in a superb location. So pretty. Plenty of parking and tables both inside and outside by the river although I should imagine it gets very busy in the summer months. Did not take bookings and tables on a first come first serve basis. Great pub food and good quality with a fair choice of dishes so something for everyone hopefully. Can also get a cream tea. Great spot for walking the dog and splashing about in the river. Dogs allowed off lead and in water if kept under control. Really enjoyed few hours here and would thoroughly recommend. The lane down to the pub and parking is narrow and bumpy so need to bear this in mind. Ford transit size vans are able to get down to pub but anything larger or with low skirt would have difficulty.

Pub or Restaurant? Upon arrival we was greeted by a roped off area and wait to be seated sign then handed a menu by very friendly staff member, told him I want to look inside pub and drinks on offer before I choose where to sit to which I was then followed and made to feel uncomfortable, I ordered my drinks at bar then told they'll be brought out to me, after finishing our drinks I then had to go back into bar to pay. Strange experience which can easily be remedied by allowing customers to sit where the want whether drinking only or eating.

What an amazing place and pub to visit after a walk at Castle Drogo. Good selection of drinks and really enjoyable food. The staff were brilliant but have to say the riverside setting is stunning. Updated June 25 - glad to report the Inn is still a top spot with lovely staff and definitely well worth a visit if you're in the area.
