We stop at this picturesque pub quite often. The location is great and you’d expect a great score on the review BUT it’s the most weird service which lets the place down every time we stop in. They actively discourage you from walking up to the bar, which is frustrating when you want to see what drinks are on offer. They also do a strict wait to be seated thing, even when pub is nearly empty. It’s almost like the management love partial Covid restrictions still. All very odd. The other thing is the decor - it’s stuck in the 80s so best to get a table outside if weather permits (and of course staff) permit!

The pub was relatively quiet, but that is to be expected midweek in November. We were greeted and seated quickly by the friendly staff. The food was really good. The meat in my burger was delicious. My wife had a vegan curry pasty, which was also delicious with first-class pastry. The menu might perhaps benefit from a couple more vegetarian options. The food was a good price for the size of the plate and the quality. The staff were friendly and helpful with questions about the menu. The service was good. Overall, it was a lovely lunch in a great location. It is an ideal location for walkers and is dog friendly.

We only popped in for a pint and some cheesy chips, as we were eating at the end of our walk. The carvery looked and smelt awesome! Portion size was good, and prices were very reasonably pitched. Great venue, which will obviously be stunning in summer! Still very busy, but lots of staff to serve you, with table service. Service wasn't the quickest, but they were busy, and it was polite when it came. Atmosphere was more towards the 'family' vibe, so if you're not a fan of lots of kids, be mindful to visit in the week! They really could've done with lighting some of their fires to make it feel cosier as the temperature is dropping! It was quite cold inside! We will be back to eat a proper meal here and enjoy a quieter visit.

Went on a hike from Drogo Castle. Lovely pub with gorgeous scenery. I would say their food was OK but it's was freshly prepared and they had a nice selection of ciders. I would definitely be happy to return if I am in the area.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Great, amazing location. We sat outside overlooking the river on a beautiful, sunny day in June. The food we ordered arrived luke warm and would best be described as low-end school canteen type food. We did raise this with the young man serving us, and he was great. The roads to Fingle Bridge are narrow. There is reasonable parking available along the road. Maybe choose the time and date for your visit to avoid congestion.

What a lovely inn. The setting by the river Teign is wonderful. Stopped mid walk for lunch. Friendly welcome and super quick service. The beer and beef baguette were excellent and very fairly priced. This inn is well worth finding. Once you've enjoyed a great pub meal you can walk up the river and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful setting for a wedding! As a wedding photographer I was spoilt for choice in where to take the couple for photographs here! The wedding reception at the Inn was amazing and the guests were well looked after.

Only dropped a star for food as my meringue was poor, but our beef hotpots were absolutely perfect for a cold wet day. Add in the superb views of the river wending it's very beautiful way past the pub plus a roaring log fire and we have the reason Dartmoor in winter is so absolutely irresistible.
