Finn Lough

The cabins are nice, quite large with a nice bed and large bathroom. About the size of a hotel room. The Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch. The restaurant is a big let down, portions are tiny and after spending £100 on food I left hungry. The breakfast bap was okay but again it won't fill you. It's delivered to your cabin gate in a wood box. The sauna is free from 8.30am to 10.30am which is great but when I went down at 8.30am it was stone cold. It didn't warm up until about 09.10am so was useless. It's a lovely sauna with views out over a lake but needs to be turned on about 45 minutes before opening. All the staff were really nice and helpful at all times. Overall it's not good value for money. It's a very expensive place which should be five star standard for the price but falls short. I'm being generous given it a four star review.

We received a gift voucher and chose to stay in the premium dome — an experience that had been on our list for a long time and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The dome was very private, warm and cozy with a super comfortable bed, a great shower and plenty of thoughtful little touches that made the stay feel special. We ate in the restaurant, Lasair, which was delicious. Each dish was bursting with flavours and the staff were genuinely lovely, so easygoing and welcoming.. The whole setting was quiet and peaceful, perfect for slowing down and unwinding. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would happily return.

This was my second stay at Finn Lough this year, and it was every bit as magical as the first. With the autumnal colours, the resort had a completely different feel making for a very different experience.||We stayed in a Lake Suite which was stunning. Spacious, comfortable, and complete with a log fire, it was perfect for this time of year. The views over the lake were breathtaking and as we had a clear night we could see so many stars which was absolutely unforgettable.||The Elements Spa Trail was another highlight. Having the experience to ourselves as a couple made it even more special. From dipping into the lake to sipping Prosecco whilst enjoying the views from the hot tub, it was pure relaxation from start to finish.||We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant that evening which was excellent. We chose their sharing style menu and every dish we tried was delicious. We ended our stay the next morning with a peaceful lakeside walk and then through the forest trail. ||What really elevates Finn Lough is their wonderful team. Every single person we met was warm, friendly and a real credit to the resort.||Finn Lough is a such a unique place and the perfect escape if you love nature, exceptional food, and a spa experience like no other. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

I have hesitated about writing this review, as the incident happened some time ago, but seeing a recent advert for Finn Lough reminded me of the experience and I feel it is important to share it. During our stay, the room next to ours was the scene of what appeared to be a serious and violent domestic incident. There was sustained screaming, shouting, objects being thrown and what sounded like physical fighting. It went on for a considerable period and kept us awake for much of the night. It was distressing and, at times, genuinely concerning to listen to. I messaged the front desk while it was happening but received no meaningful response and there was no apparent intervention. At checkout, I explained to the receptionist what had occurred. The response was deeply disappointing. There was no visible concern shown, no apology offered and no reassurance that the matter would be documented or looked into. When I asked whether a note would be made of the incident, particularly as it may be relevant should there ever be future reports involving the same guests, I was told to stop discussing it because other guests were in the reception area. I understand that hotels cannot control the behaviour of guests and that incidents do happen. My concern is not that it occurred, but how it was handled. A simple acknowledgement, an apology and confirmation that the matter would be formally recorded would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the lack of response and the dismissive attitude at checkout left us feeling unheard and disappointed.

We loved it; went for one night to premium bubble dome. Its very relaxing; Domes are very comfortable; Views are stunning. Very clean' . It was like sleeping outside. We had a cloudy sky , only a few starts but was still amazing. Toilet area a bit small . Nice mini bar drinks. Food in restaurant was gorgeous. We went for vegan tapas menu. Every morsel was lovely. Desserts too chocolatey. It was the night of storm Amy so really noisy but it didnt affect our relaxation. Breakfast delivered; husband had everything bap; I had avocado/tomato bap . There as also pastries and granola. Nice not having to interact with others. We did Spa trail, you have it completely to yourself. I didnt feel rushed. Would have liked a bit more time in relaxation area. It is expensive; but is unique; genuinely recharged our batteries and very relaxing, Wished we were staying 2 nights

I recently stayed at this spa for what was meant to be a relaxing and luxurious break, but unfortunately the entire experience left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. The spa itself felt incredibly rushed. We were given a timer for 20 minutes on each section of the spa, which completely defeated the purpose of trying to unwind. Instead of being able to switch off and relax, we were constantly aware of the clock, moving from one area to another before we’d even had a chance to properly enjoy it. For a spa day, that pressure made it impossible to truly relax. Considering how much money we had already spent on what was supposed to be a premium experience, it was extremely disappointing to find additional charges being added on. We were even charged for a bottle of water after specifically asking for tap water, which felt unnecessary and petty given the cost of the stay. On top of that, after already paying a substantial amount for dinner, we were told we had to pay extra to have a steak. When you’re already spending a significant amount on a set dinner, you don’t expect to be met with more add-ons for what feels like a standard option. Breakfast the next morning was another letdown. Our doorbell wasn’t working, so we had no idea our breakfast had been delivered. By the time we realised it was outside our room, it was freezing cold. To make matters worse, no plates or bowls had been provided, so we couldn’t even eat it. We then had to call and wait for someone to bring basic crockery, which should have been included in the first place. Our plug sockets weren’t working in our dome so we couldn’t charge our phones that evening also. We also requested an ice bucket and glasses for the room, but when we arrived back, nothing had been set up. After asking again, they eventually came — but with a bottle of Prosecco we never requested. It just felt like constant miscommunication and poor attention to detail throughout our stay. Given the high price of this experience, I genuinely don’t feel it was worth the money. Even small requests felt like a big inconvenience to the staff — for example, when we asked for a lift back to our room while it was pouring with rain, it seemed like an unreasonable request, despite the amount we had paid. Overall, this was meant to be a special and relaxing stay, but instead it felt rushed, disorganised, and full of unexpected extra costs that left a sour taste.

We had the best time away, this was a wedding gift and one item on our bucket list. The whole place was amazing, the food was exceptional and the staff were so welcoming. The spa was an absolute bonus, Nula was amazing. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed at Finn Lough from the 1st–4th and it was an absolutely awful experience, especially for what we paid. The dome was freezing the entire time with no proper heating. We had to wait 10–15 minutes just to get hot water every time, which is ridiculous for “luxury” accommodation. The toilet was open with no real privacy, which made my fiancée extremely uncomfortable for the whole stay. Breakfast was very poor and nowhere near the standard you would expect for the price. The worst part was when two members of room service walked into our dome without knocking or announcing themselves while my fiancée was lying in bed. This was a complete invasion of privacy and extremely upsetting. For the amount of money charged, this experience was nowhere near acceptable. We were expecting a relaxing, high-end getaway and instead it was stressful, uncomfortable, and disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.
