Fióka Étterem és Borbár in Budapest is a cozy bistro and wine bar with imaginative small plates and a fantastic wine selection in a charming garden setting.
One of my favorite restaurants in Budapest on the Buda side. Even so you could be afraid that the restaurant is geographically seen awfully located - at a very busy crossroad where even the tram is going around the restaurant - you will be surprised how you will not notice that at all once sitting there. You can sit inside or outside in their beautiful garden, which also provides some toys for smaller kids. Due to the rather limited space inside you should rather reserve a place. Food has high quality. At the moment they offer kind of tapas of different kinds. Staff is always friendly. So definitely a place to recommend!

Monday early evening (around 5pm) we arrived at the restaurant and the very nice gentleman said the kitchen was already closed unfortunately. The kind man was so nice we decided to come back and try the next day. Lovely small establishment nice ambiance. My friends had eaten here before and couldn't wait to take me. We ordered dishes to share and unfortunately the dishes were not as good as friends had before. It was my first time and honestly the dishes were not in balance. The pomegranate sauce in the artichoke dish was way too much, which made the dish quite sour. The chicken and sweet potato curry were not bad, but also not exciting.
The service...the young lady in my opinion was not experienced. They were out of olaszrizling wine and she said she could recommend the grüner veltliner and that the olaszrizling in her opinion wasn't even that special. Why would you say that about something you have on the menu? Although there were only two tables which needed service we had a hard time getting het attention. Long story short in my opinion lovely place however it needs a bit more professional service.

This place has been excellent already for years, and after their new smaller menu concept it has probably gotten even better! The prices are a bit higher than before, but I think the food is well worth the prices - the kitchen is really on top of their game and I am glad to pay for this quality and innovative portions.
The service here is always excellent, fast and kind. The place itself is very cozy, especially the terrace with the small ”fireplace” is very romantic during the cold winter days. Also their wine selection is worth mentioning!
Lovable gem!

One of the best places to go nowadays in Budapest.
Small plates idea is absolutely brilliant and offers a wide variety of options to try.
Today’s lunch was one of the best ones I’ve had in months.
Mixing Greek, Indian, Italian, Hungarian kitchen, spiced up with fish and some gorgeous desserts unveils how much hidden talents are in kitchens all around Hungary.
Bravo for team working today in 40 degrees, Bravo!!!

We had a lovely dinner with the family, the food was incredible and there’s something for everyone - for picky eaters or for people who eat anything under the sun. Very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic comfy atmosphere.

An excellent dinner, in a convivial atmosphere, in a small neighbourhood locality very convenient for Hotel Budapest. Not a vast range on the menu (and very limited for vegetarians) but nevertheless high quality food, with extra friendly service, and not on the tourist trail. I would (and will before our stay is over) go here again, and would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in this area of Budapest.

Beautiful setting next to the park, cozy, warm place with excellent dishes combining traditional Hungarian and French bistro style using quality ingredients. The service is friendly and very polite. Prices on the average quality bistro level, had a 3 course lunch for two for about 50 euros. A place to come back and taste some more from the menu.
