It’s so disappointing to see foreign staff not saving the environment. Yesterday took the children to witness fireflies at this place. Here they have a foreign staff and keep going to the side close to the branches and catch the fireflies even to the point of breaking the branches thinking this will impress us to give him a tip as he keeps requesting for a tip. |In return I told him stop catching the insects and destroy them. |Really annoying I hope the owners of the resort will teach their on saving the environment

Clean room and big with 2 rooms inside. But no water heater as advertised (functioning as pump only). Aircond is good. Basic facilities only are provided. Pool is big but not well maintained. There is lots of sand at the bottom. They are not resort. More to basic guest house.

One of among few local operator that providing boat services for visitors to have a sight of the 'magical' fireflies. Reasonable boat ride fees and friendly elderly villagers as the boatman. However the facilitiy especially the jetty and visitors life jackets perhaps need to be replace as its already aged. Do bring mosquito repellents, umbrella or rain jacket just in case.

Great nature. Kids have fun with monkeys and fireflies. However, need to improve on overall maintenance, which includes swimming pool and chalets. Front house lady is responsive and accomodating.

Resort is average with chalet type. Big chalet with 2 rooms and 1 bath. I am happy with the size. It can easily fit in 4 pax or maybe more.||The bathroom however need some attn whereby the sink was leaking so cant use it comfortably plus the water heater is not plugged in.. I suppose its not working.||The swimming pool is huge. Ideal for family activities especially the younger ones.||The jetty for fireflies watch is within the resort itself that is why I think this location is the best for fireflies trip.||Parking is ample. The restaurant nearby was closed that time so had to go bit far outside to find food but it was OK. I dont mind that.||The fireflies trip was great experience for me and my family. We even ask for an extended trip and just pay some tips. Fireflies really amaze us all..|Overall this resort is the best for its location since its so convenient for fireflies trip. Also one of the best option for family chalet.

The price is also affordable. Adult RM 16 and kids RM 9 without 30mins Tour and they provide life jackets. To view the firefly,we have ride the motor boat. Nice adventure experience. Most of the firefly were on the tree so it decorate the trees like Christmas Trees! Got a lot of mosquito remember to bring lemongrass spray.

The resort itself is a decent place to stay for a night if you want to go see the fireflies. They have a direct service to it and I have to say, while the fireflies were pretty, the night sky and the stars were the best part about the getting on the boat. The resort has a BBQ station but you need to bring your own meat and stuff. They also have a huge swimming pool - good for children I think.

Have been firefly watching on few occassions but always at Kampung Kuantan, decided to try Firefly Park Resort this time. And I wasn't disappointed...| |I felt this venue was far less commercialized, perhaps because they run a 'resort' as a whole and firefly watching is just one of their businesses. Definitely less people (and tourists) here, making the wait much shorter. ||Upon purchase of tickets, you'll be given a queue number. Just walk through the Resort to the jetty, grab a life vest and wait for your number to be called. You'll be arranged onto a fiberglass boat with a 'canopy', each boat takes 12 pax I think and off you go. ||Make sure to apply sufficient insect repellant, loads of mosquitoes around!!!||By comparison to Kg Kuantan, boats were more modern, fiberglass body, quiet electric powered motor (compared to the wooden rowboats) and larger. Guides were chattier and more informative as well, probably because they didn't have to row the boat, leaving nothing else to do!! And I felt there were significantl more spots where we sighted fireflies here (although this may be purely coincidental to the season, weather, moon etc and nothing to do with the location of this resort). ||Overall, had a very pleasant trip and were done fairly quickly. From time of ticket purchase to end of tour, probably 1 hour max. ||Just take note that firefly watching attractions in Kuala Selangor are not 'professionally' run attractions, mainly family businesses that has grown (Kampung Kuantan has had some help from local municipal council). As such, do manage your expectations of the facilities, service, toilets etc. ||For non-local visitors, I would suggest taking the numerous day trip packages offered which includes visit to the Fort, seafood dinner and firefly watching rather than staying out here in Kuala Selangor overnight. Not unless you're really into small town homestays (with minimal facilities) and have plenty of time to spend. Otherwise, this attraction is about a 1.5 hour journey out of the city, very manageable as a day trip.
