The location is amazing, I honestly didn't know what to expect from a hostel but the other guests and staff were so friendly and I had a total blast. The staff didn't let you want or need for anything always asking for opportunities to go above and beyond. The history ofthe building is palatable the accommodations very comfortable, they even offer bikes to check out the parks and downtown they are located right in the middle of.I'm so glad I didn't book a traditional hotel for this trip I will be coming back!

Bed bugs. Had I had booked for two nights, but came back midday after the first night and all of my stuff was in trash bags, as another resident in the men's quarters had bed bugs. Made other accommodations.

This place was great. I booked it last minute, like 10 minutes before getting there and it was in a great spot. It's right at the Fine Art Museum and a nice grassy park with a pond. It's not far from "Midtown" where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. Good food and live entertainment likely regularly. I stopped at several places. Everyone in the male dorm was running the Little Rock Marathon in the morning, but the staff was really cool about a relaxed check out schedule for everyone running. The place itself is just really cool too, with a really warm feeling, lot's to look at, and cozy seating. I'm so glad this place is available and so affordable.

I had an awesome 2-night stay for my first hostel visit, and highly recommend the Firehouse Hostel & Museum! I stayed in the Captain's room, not the men's dorm, and it was great - clean, comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hostel's common areas with firehouse memorabilia, equipment, info and more were very cool. It's a short walk to downtown, with several pubs, restaurants, etc. only a few blocks away through the quiet neighborhood. The hostel has a few bikes that guests can borrow, too. The amazing re-imagined Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts just opened and is literally next door, along with the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. I'm already recommending the Firehouse to my friends.

It is pretty ridiculous that this place charges $35 a night when most hostels charge less. The beds are okay and there is a cool museum in the lobby. However, the front desk is a disorganized mess run entirely by volunteers. The manager is nowhere to be found. It took me a long time to check in and nobody seemed to know answers to my questions. Like all hostels, the Firehouse can only take guests who have an out of town driver's license. The purpose of the hostel is to attract tourists to town. However, when I was there I noticed a good number of people who were clearly homeless and just living there permanently. This was especially true of the volunteers. One volunteer told me that she had never been to a tourist attraction in town and or even in a restaurant there. The local government supports this place. Hence, the taxpayers of Little Rock are funding a homeless shelter for out-of -towners.

Fantastic hostel, very detailed lounge and cool history on the firehouse itself. I slept well and had no problems with checking out, super easy. There were friendly people I met. Clara, maci, and mach were all cool peeps who helped me on my stay. Also, big thanks to the manager working out my booking date error. Thanks for being a compassionate person! Would definitely book here again.

The Hostel was super cool. They have a fire station museum and you could asked them about a tour, so it was awesome. The rooms are really great, that have restroom inside, what's really convenient. The location is little bit far away of downtown. It's not to far but if you want to go in the middle of the night there is not a lot of lights. The good point of this is that it isn't noisy at all. I discovered that they offer a continental breakfast (toast, cereal, juice and milk). It could be a great point but in my case the bread was out of day. A part of the breakfast (I didn't expect it because when you booked it they didn't mention it) I think that it's a good Hostel.

Easy to get to. Convenient location in historical district. Clean, comfortable. Prepared food in kitchen. Nice dining area. Quiet surroundings. Pleasant staff. Felt like staying in someone’s home without a tv or bathroom in every room. Put your dirty towels and bed sheets in laundry bin. You’re a houseguest!

Yelp
Comfortable, clean accommodations with cool firehouse memorabilia. Friendly people! The women's dorm was quiet and comfy. Outlets are easily accessible in bathrooms and the dorms. Complimentary simple breakfast and basic linens are provided. Overall a great deal and I will definitely stay here again

Yelp
My mother and I checked in 4.11.23 at 9:00pm. The man whom checked us in was so polite, but didn't show us around. We checked into a private room, which had a couple dead bugs on the floor, and the linens on the bed were dirty. The linens also were very old and held a bad smell, although when we entered the hostile there was a very bad odor. We were shocked that there was no public TV or even a TV in the room. The quite time was to start at 10pm, but that did not happen until after mid-night which was bad for us as we had to be up and out by 3am. We feel as if it was a waste of our time and money to stay here, $80+ down the drain.

Yelp
It's a great location, and cool place to meet people. While I already had plans to meet a friend living in Little Rock, it definitely was easy to meet people. I already have plans to meet up with someone I had met there. The volunteers/hosts there was super friendly and informative. The place was clean and I really didn't have trouble with noise or anything of that sort.

Yelp
This was my first time staying in a hostel and I loved it! Definitely a good experience. My favorite part was the people. I got to meet people from around the world and even got to play a fun game of pictionary with the hosts. Everything was super clean. Everyone was considerate in the dorms, so I slept well. Definitely was a good first experience for visiting a hostel!

Yelp
I stayed here for two nights which was $62. The staff was very courteous and quick to give suggestions for stuff to do in Little Rock. The hostel is literally next door to the Arkansas Arts Museum which has free admission. There is Stones Throw brewery which was a 5 minute walk away. From the hostel, you can walk to the river market and downtown Little Rock. The space itself was super clean. I was in the 12-man dorm which consisted of bunk beds. The bathroom was attached and had two showers - make sure to bring shower shoes. There was coffee and a light breakfast of toast and cereal provided in the mornings. Overall, a great value for the price you're paying. Very clean facility. Safe area. Easy walk to great breweries and restaurants. Short drive to the state Capitol building and the Clinton library. 25 minute drive to Pinnacle Mountain.

Yelp
One of the best HI hostels I've stayed in. On a Saturday night, I had a 6-bed coed room to myself for the price of a dorm bunk. The hostel is immaculately clean and the staff were friendly. A delight in Little Rock. Also, the first floor bathroom features a long mirror positioned directly across from the toilet so you can watch yourself while sitting on it, if you're into that kind of thing.

Yelp
This is a wonderful new hostel and museum which just opened at the end of August 2016. The building was used as a fire station until the late 1950's. A group of local Little Rock firefighters have spent the last several years lovingly transforming this building into a firefighting museum, as well as a hostel for travelers. The museum contains a plethora of antique pieces of firefighting equipment, including a wide selection of nozzles, buckets and axes. The museum also has an array of interesting photographs providing insight into prominent fires that have occurred throughout American history. I stayed at the hostel for two nights over Columbus Day weekend. Jennifer, James, Scott and the rest of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. They gave me some great recommendations of local restaurants, breweries and bars in the vicinity. The dorm rooms in the hostel were very clean and well-kept. The craftsman-style building provides a unique and cozy atmosphere for visitors. The hostel is within easy walking distance of the River Market District and the Clinton Library. Finally, the hostel is a great value for your money and perfect for those on a tight budget. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Little Rock.

Yelp
I came to Little Rock for the 4th of July Pops on the River, fireworks event. I had been to it about 5 years ago with my daughter and had fond memories of the event. It was everything I remembered, very family friendly, a very diverse crowd and like the last time, I did not see any heavy drinking, during the event. I wanted to be, a walking distance from downtown, to not have to deal with the event parking, so I chose the Firehouse Hostel & Museum. I stayed for 2 nights and although I was sleeping in a men's room with 14 beds, only 4 of the beds were taken during my stay, with 2 being the hostel volunteers. They also offer a woman's room, as well as a coed room and even a private room. Keith, the senior volunteer, was super nice and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. They even walked a group of us to the fireworks show. The breakfast is a light continental version, with plenty of coffee and full access to their kitchen, refrigerator and ice machine, if you should choose to fix your own meals. Even though I am 6'2" tall, I still was able to fit on the bunk bed and it was more comfortable than I expected. The entire place was immaculately clean, including the kitchen and bathrooms. The price was unbeatable and this being my first stay in a hostel, I really enjoyed getting to know the staff as well as other guests. Everyone has a unique life story, which helps bring mine, back into perspective. I will be staying here again!

Yelp
I stayed at this hostel on New Year's Eve on my way from San Diego, CA to Raleigh, NC. After three long days of driving, this place is exactly what I needed. I was instantly warmly welcomed by James, a member of the staff. He gave me a tour and let me choose where I wanted to stay. I have traveled to several countried and stayed in dozens of hostels and I can easily say that this was one of the best I stayed in. Every inch of the hostel was spotless! It was almost sparkling, it was so clean. The firehouse theme and artifacts made this an educational and exciting place to stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and came with the softest blanket I have ever slept with. The bathrooms were impeccable and I was very pleased to find good quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. This beautiful facility was made even better by the wonderful. James offered to drive me downtown for NYE and gave me a little tour. He even picked me up well after midnight and did not let me pay him a dime. in the morning, I was warmly greeted by Linda who gave me a wonderful history of the development of the hostel. I only stayed one night but would have gladly stayed more if I had time. The hostel is located in MacArthur park which is very pleasant to take a walk and explore. I loved this hostel and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Little Rock!!

Yelp
The staff/volunteers at the Firehouse Hostel have been so accommodating to our group. I highly recommend this hostel to groups that are looking to come into the Little Rock area! The beds are comfortable and you'll get a great night's sleep.
