We visited FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill & Bar at Pier 39 with 7 adults and 5 children and went for the signature interactive grill experience. It was a great and fun lunch experience, especially with kids. The concept is simple and enjoyable — you build your own bowl by choosing your proteins, carbs, vegetables, sauces, and spices, and then the chef cooks everything fresh right in front of you. You can go for multiple rounds after finishing your bowl, which makes it totally worth it. The pricing is very reasonable for the experience: • Kids: $12.99 • Adults: $24.99 We went around 2 PM, and it was perfect timing — we were full for the rest of the day 😂. They also have a good variety of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We tried the Irish coffee, one of their signature drinks (with vodka), and it was excellent. There’s plenty of space, the service was great, and we spent about 2 hours without feeling rushed. The food tastes amazing if you know how to balance your sauces and spices — remember, less sauce is more, because the chef cooks everything you pick 🤣. Great food, great taste, great service, and a really fun experience. Highly recommended for families, groups, and anyone looking for something interactive and filling.

My wife and I first discovered Fire + Ice in Lake Tahoe and absolutely loved it, so when we saw they had a location at Pier 39 in San Francisco, we knew we had to check it out. While we were walking through to look at the menu and buffet line, the manager greeted us with such warmth and sincerity—it instantly set the tone for the visit. We decided to come back later for dinner, and when we returned, we were seated at a fantastic table with an even better server, Nathan. Both the manager and Nathan were amazing—genuinely friendly, attentive, and kind. The food was fresh, plentiful, and fun! My wife, two daughters, and I all went back for multiple helpings. For those who haven’t been, Fire + Ice is an all-you-can-eat experience where you fill a bowl with whatever ingredients you like, bring it to the big circular grill, and watch the chefs cook it right in front of you—sometimes with a little show. They even did a small fire trick for me right on the grill! The whole staff was smiling and made us feel more like friends than customers. The atmosphere, food, and people were all top-notch—honestly, even better than the Lake Tahoe location (sorry, Tahoe!). My daughter already said she wants to come back every year for her birthday, and I told her she doesn’t have to wait that long. Pro tips: Lunch is served until 2:30 p.m. and costs about $25. Dinner starts after that and runs around $35. If you’re going on a Friday or Saturday night, make a reservation—it gets busy! We went on a Sunday evening and it was pleasantly active but not packed. Absolutely beautiful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend—you won’t regret it!

We have just had excellent service, Nathan our waiter was wonderful, cheerful, patient and genuine. Jorge the chef breezed through cooking 6-8 people's meals at a time whilst holding engaging conversations with us, the meats were cooked perfectly and he is a asset to the team. Would love to give a shout out to the barman Patrick for mixing up some fabulous cocktails. We landed here from the UK yesterday and will definitely be back!!!

Fire & Ice made our wedding experience truly unforgettable! The staff was beyond amazing. I wish I remembered everyone’s names because they deserve all the credit. They went out of their way to accommodate my request and even reserved space for 30 people earlier this month. The food was absolutely incredible, and the view was stunning; there’s nothing like enjoying a delicious meal while overlooking the bay. Over 85% of our guests had never been to Fire & Ice before, and by the end of the night, every single one of our family and friends LOVED it! The food, the location, and most importantly, the outstanding staff made this such a special experience. Thank you, Fire & Ice, for being such an amazing host and for helping make our wedding so memorable! 💙🔥❄️

The best thing about this place is the view and location. The service was pretty good and the staff were friendly. The food was a bit disappointing. Most of the food/ingredients options at the food bar appeared fresh. There were a variety of sauces to choose from that were all well labeled/easy to read and understand. I appreciate that the cooks used separate spatulas for the veggies versus the meat. There was plenty of seating and the view of the bay was beautiful. It was a little pricey if you’re not very hungry. You can just order appetizers, instead of the all you can eat buffet -but those options are limited and not that exciting. One of those appetizers, the chicken Caesar salad, wasn’t that good.

Great Food, Great Service and Great View! We recently stopped in at FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill and Bar at Pier 39 on our holiday from Australia. We actually went in as the name intrigued us. We were seated at a window table where the views over the San Francisco Bay were awesome with huge windows providing a view from any seat. The whole concept is to select a bowl of your own food combination of rice, pasta, noodles, fresh vegetables and salad, meat and seafood and then from a combination of sauces, which you then take to the huge round BBQ grill to have a chef grill it up and serve to you to devour! The option to go back as many times as you like, filling your bowl to have various food combinations is different to the usual buffet style restaurants, where food is already pre-cooked and pre-prepared, so having it cooked fresh is so much better. The staff, waiters and chefs were very friendly and accommodating and we even had the pleasure of meeting the manager and talking at length with him personally. I would thoroughly go back to FiRE+iCE Interactive Grill and Bar for a feed if I was in San Fran again and recommend going there for a great feed and an awesome cocktail while looking over the bay! Fire & Ice is an amazing "All U can eat" place right at Pier 39 in San Francisco. We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday and man it was nice. Great views of Pier, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, lots of ferries and boats passing, etc. We visited on Sunday in the afternoon around 2:30PM and it wasn't that busy at all. We tried different variances of sauces and pasta/veggies combination every time we got up to get seconds. Being a strict vegetarian it was very important for us to not get our food mixed up with meats and loved how they have separate sections for pasta/noodles/rice, veggies, meats, seafood, sauces and spices to make sure it doesn't get mixed with each other. We requested our food to be cooked separately and the two gentleman at the grill were more than happy to accommodate it and cleaned a quarter section (for 5 of us) for our food to be cooked. Because of not so busy times, there were only 2-3 servers and it took some time to get our drinks served. If they are busy or if you strict Vegetarian or Vegan like us, you can also request your food to be cooked inside the kitchen as they have a separate grill or something they can cook your meals separately. One suggestion to keep in mind: I called in and made a reservation for Sunday afternoon on Friday and I was give a verbal confirmation, but when I called in on Sunday morning on our way to the restaurant, I was surprised to hear that there was no reservation for us. I talked to Jerry and he saved our day by making another reservation and immediately received a confirmation text as well as email. So please make sure you receive a written confirmation if you make a reservation. Shout Out to JERRY & Chelsey for accommodating us and going over and above to make our experience enjoyable and comfortable. Parking: There is a parking garage right across from Pier 39 and also there are many other street parking, other garages, etc options around the restaurant. Location: Great location (all the way at the end/back of Pier 39). You'll have to make your way through tourists, but per our experience, it's worth the efforts. Dietary Restrictions: Good place for Vegetarians & Vegans alike. Please request to have to food cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. Coupons or other offers: We're a VIP members for this restaurant and were suppose to receive a Birthday Discount since we were celebrating my wife's birthday, but were told by our server and manager that this location does not accept or honor and coupons or offers. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent from start to finish—fast, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff were incredibly sweet and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The warm atmosphere, combined with their kindness, really made the meal enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for great food paired with even better service!

Good food good service. It's an all you can eat so come hungry. I have been to the one in Lake Tahoe very similar experience at the end of Pierre 39 check it out fire and ice. The manager Ken is amazing.

Okay, so I had settled on a 4 star review of the restaurant, but bumped this up to a 5 star after my interaction with the wonderful staff. Going in, we were familiar with and fans of the Fire & Ice dining concept having previously visited the Anaheim & S. Lake Tahoe locations. Mongolian-grill type restaurants are 1 of my absolute favorites! Here in S.F., there were some minor unforseen hiccups, but this was more than compensated for overall. It's a bit of a task and maze getting here dodging throngs of tourists and making it to the restaurant entrance from the opposite end of Pier 39 alongside the Embarcadero. However, once here, diners are rewarded with "ooh-ahh" priceless views of San Francisco Bay during the meal. A jaw-dropping backdrop, in short. Another smaller issue fairly mentioned is the cut-off time policy between lunch & dinner pricing transparency. And a wonky, work-in-progress Rewards sign-up that we weren't able to launch during the visit. On-duty restaurant manager Ken, an East-coast native was a gem of a fellow who introduced himself and a great interaction followed. Equal praise for server Luka, a native of Serbia...and a sweetheart of a hostess whose name I didn't get. They, along with the great, fresh food really aced this 1st time visit. Speaking of the food, they've got offerings you won't find at most any other Mongolian grill. Such as sirloin steak, fresh seafood like prawns/shrimp and overall much higher quality choices than at similar places. And it's AYCE (all you can eat)! Just use a fresh bowl everytime cave people (jk). An inviting bar area where single diners can nosh is a plus too. The bathrooms were very clean and kept up nicely. All things considered: the million dollar views of the Bay, the wonderful food, staff hospitality and the notorious affordability of the S.F. area in general...and Fire & Ice delivers one heckuva' dining value here @ Pier 39 in my humble opinion. The builders really aced it with this one. Give them a try and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Great job staff. You created an unforgettable dining experience.

Came here after a night tour of Alcatraz. I was worried we'd be turned away because we came within an hour of closing and reservations were closed online but the hostess was warm and welcomed us in, no problem. Upon being sat we were walked through the experience but I was too hungry to follow along because I missed the memo on sauce in a separate container and my husband missed the memo on pack the bowl. Needless to say our first round was mediocre at best, but that may have been our fault. The second round we learned from our mistakes and were both more satisfied with our second plate. Still, overall I don't think I would go out of my way to come back despite the social media appeal. Pros, staff is friendly. All you can eat is all you can eat, even after closing which was a big bonus. Cons, the build your bowl stations are a bit of a mess in terms of sloppy and bottle necks. The cooks can be hard to communicate with, my friend had her order messed up by a cook using another patron's sauce which soured our whole experience. Tips, if you're hungry, a bowl of veggies and seafood will cook quicker and may result in a shorter wait time. I can't imagine the wait during a busy time, so maybe come during off peaks. Go surf and turf only if you're a fan of well done meat. Also do not come here with allergies as this place screams cross-contamination hazard. I was really looking forward to this place because the closest Mongolian BBQ spot near me was shut down with the latest closure of your old school malls. I thought this would fill a void for me but the truth is that it didn't because it was Mongolian and then some... Italian, Mexican, and American. Not for me but may be for diverse groups of folks craving different cuisines.

This place was Awesome!!! I took my Goddaughters here for lunch and it was really cool. You have sooooo many options for food choices that can be cooked on the grill from Italian dishes, to fajitas, grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and Mongolian noodle bowls. The best part is its all you can eat and isnt expensive at all. I was stuffed when I left!! They also have a full Bar but I didnt try any drinks. Our waiter was very friendly & attentive and lowered our bill because of a issue.. im overall impressed with this place and cant wait to go back. Food - 5 Drinks - N/A Service - 5 Ambiance - 3 it has beautiful views of the water & of Alcatraz but the indoor design & decor is kinda hideous.

This restaurant sits at the very end of Pier 39, which means you'll need to make your way through a stretch of tourist chaos to get there--but the reward is worth it. The views are incredible, with clear views of the bay and "The Rock" Alcatraz. The concept of Fire + Ice is fun and interactive, though during peak hours, expect long lines both to fill your somewhat small bowls and to get them cooked. The selection of proteins was a bit odd--ranging from scallops and steak to hot dogs and hamburgers--which may not suit all tastes. The flavor sauce section is also overwhelming, with dozens of options and little guidance, making it difficult to know what pairs well. The bar staff was very friendly and welcoming, which helped balance the experience. However, the cooks at the grill seemed rushed and not particularly approachable. Cleanliness could also use a little attention. Despite the quirks, the location and views give this place strong potential. With a few adjustments, it could become a much more enjoyable spot for both tourists and locals alike.

We had a great experience at Fire and Ice interactive restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us build our bowls. The meals are all you can eat so you definitely get value for your dollar. The ingredients were fresh and we loved being able to pick all our favorites for our bowls. I chose the noodles with lots of fresh veggies, steak, and shrimp. I went back twice and was stuffed by the end. They are located at the end of the pier so the views are fantastic. Great food at a great value!

Wanted to try this newly open place. And it was ok. They do have a good variety of proteins along with a variety of carbs. They have a good variety of vegetables too. They need to put signs up on where the line begins it's very confusing. Also the 2 guys cooking the food are NOT good they do alot of personal talking and the one guy does WAY to much banging of the spatula flipping it high smacking it down and who can do it the hardest. I noticed the other people were getting annoyed with it too. The cooks just spent way too much time banging their spatula. Hardly saw out server i had to flag another server for some more iced tea. I dont think I'll come back. Maybe later down the road.

We were celebrating my best friend's birthday and went to a different restaurant on the pier first and didn't like the vibe so we gave Fire and Ice a try and we both loved it. It was so good and our first time but won't be our last. Our waiter Nathan was amazing from start to finish he was very professional and tentative to our needs. Our cook Jorge was amazing as well and very professional. We'll definitely be back soon

This was a first time visit for my best friend and I, and we will be back real soon. The food was good, the service was amazing, especially the waiter Nathan on evening shift. Nathan was kind, informative, and attentive. It has a very nice ambiance, sitting at the end of pier 39 overlooking the water was very nice and the drinks from the bar tasted good, the signature Mai Tai to be exact. Our experience was a 10 out of 10. If you have not been, it's a must try!

The view here is very nice. The restaurant is at the very end of the pier and has a great view of the water and of alcatraz. The food was only okay. The food here was expensive considering the quality. We also ordered tequila shots but weren't given any limes. The service was very friendly. I would consider dining elsewhere but if you're in a pinch a fine place to go to.

We made a reservation for 8:30p as the website and everyplace stated it closes at 10p. When we got there, we were immediately told they close at 9p but we can still eat. We were sat down and immediately grabbed our food. Didn't get a full explanation of how it works since the employees were chatting and cleaning tables. We eventually ordered drinks and sat to eat. Food and experience was alright but I feel like they need to update their website with the hours. We felt rushed to eat and weren't attended to properly. Food was good at least.

Fire + Ice Blazes into Pier 39 - and It's Already the Hottest Seat on the Bay Let's get the headline out of the way: those floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Bay like it's hanging in a museum. From one swivel of your chair you're staring down Alcatraz, the Golden Gate, and the sea-lion mosh-pit below. I've eaten all over SF and very few dining rooms can touch this vantage. Bring a phone with storage - you'll fill it. SFGATE Service that actually hustles. Our server greeted us like we'd just parachuted in, broke down the "build-your-own-bowl" drill in 60 seconds flat, and circled back every time a drink glass hinted at empty. The grill crew turns the giant circular flattop into dinner-theatre, carving, tossing, and lightning-searing whatever combo you dreamed up. Food = Fresh + Fun. You hand over a bowl loaded with veggies, noodles, steak tips, whatever, choose a sauce, and watch the flames do their thing. My teriyaki-ginger shrimp came off the grill still snapping hot, veggies bright, noodles smoky but not mushy. At ~$36 for unlimited trips, plus a cocktail list that isn't afraid of mezcal, it's a steal in tourist-land. SFGATE Little details that push it to 10/10: A soundtrack that leans old-school hip-hop and Y2K pop - keeps the energy up without drowning conversation. Clear allergy labeling and gluten-free rice noodles ready to go . Bottom line: Fire + Ice has taken the prime real estate at the very tip of Pier 39 and delivered an experience that's equal parts postcard view and hands-on culinary playground. Tourists will obviously swarm, but locals craving a stress-free, big-view night out should claim a table before the lines stretch back to the Embarcadero. I'm already plotting my next bowl - and another round of that smoky-peach margarita. Verdict: 10/10. Pier 39 finally has a restaurant worth the hype - and yes, I'm coming back.

Was curious to try based off the social media coverage during its recent opening. Pier 39 isn't the ideal spot because HI TOURISTS. But what the heck, we went in for a late lunch on Friday and the place was empty (so note the timing if you'd rather not deal with crowds.) Upon entering, we stepped into a bright, clean, spacious new space, a sprawling view of Alcatraz, ample seating and tables, and the grill and DIY stations toward the back. Priced at $36/pp, all you can eat. Honestly, after 1 pass, I was almost full. The 2nd pass was almost forced and I chose veggies only. I am definitely not the type of person to do well at an AYCE. But if you crave quantity and have an empty stomach on cheat day, this is your place. You have a huge assortment of noodles, rice, proteins, veggies and sauces to choose from, which could be daunting for newbies or those who can't make decisions on the spot. Pack your ingredients into a small steel bowl, hand it over to the grill master who will cook it up--he'll ask if you'd like butter, salt and pepper--and the server picks it up and brings it to your table. Interesting concept. Our server was attentive and friendly, frequently checking in on us, offering us napkins and refills. It was a pleasant experience and satisfied my own curiosity. However, I'm not sure I'd return for the price. I think if there was a location in the peninsula, it could be a hit. But Pier 39 is an acquired taste for locals.

I was curious about the business model because I've never seen a restaurant like this. Service was really good too. The host brought me to the buffet line to check out the food first before sitting me down. I was sold! She was super friendly and made sure I was taken care of. This is a really unique spot that has AYCE cruisines ranging from Asian, Italian, Mexican. They have a giant grill to cook right in front of you, sort of like Mongolian BBQ spots if you know what I mean. Bonus: Great views of the ocean while you eat.

Celebrated my moms birthday here on a Friday night and we had the best server Nathan who was always smiling and very hospitable great service the space was beautiful and vibrant fun place for any special occasion the food was pretty good but it's a build your own so it's as good as you make it there was a large selections of veg and protein to choose from.

This was our first time coming here. Came on a Saturday 3pm, there was open seating everywhere! Staff and cook were friendly, we sat at the window overlooking the water, food was good. I had 3 bowls, husband had 4 bowls, and I could have eaten more if I wasn't so full (2 bowls only pictured) Money is worth it especially if eat a lot. Service was fast but there weren't a lot of people at the time. It definitely started to get crowded towards the end of our stay. They have burgers and hotdogs on the menu as well to offer even more variety.

Food was mediocre at best. Long lines to fill your bowls and get your food cooked. The restaurant was not very clean. The floors were greasy; someone is going to slip and hurt themselves. Not enough staff. Tne lines to fill your bowls were long and then a long wait to get it cooked. Touristy location worth stellar views. The kids in our party enjoyed. The grownups not so much.

Had a reservation for 12:30 and were seated immediately, which was a nice start. The waterfront view at the end of Pier 39 is definitely a highlight -- gorgeous location. The food selection is interesting, but calling this "Mongolian BBQ" feels like a stretch. Instead of the usual flavors, they offer seafood like salmon and tuna, steak bites, ribs, bacon, chicken cubes, and even hot dogs and hamburger options (with buns). Sauces range from Alfredo to green tomatillo -- again, not exactly traditional. The biggest issue? The value and the hygiene. For the price, the quality of ingredients was incredibly underwhelming -- cheap cuts and filler items. You're paying a premium for a gimmicky concept and a nice view, not great food. And while the grill cook was friendly and clearly passionate, the showmanship quickly crossed into unsanitary and obnoxious. Throwing used bowls that guests have handled onto the grill area -- just to try to bounce them into a bin and miss most of the time -- was gross and unnecessary. Even worse was seeing him wipe sweat from his face with a towel and then keep working without washing his hands or changing gloves. That's just unacceptable in any food service environment. Overall, it's a fun concept in theory, but overpriced and poorly executed. Between the questionable food quality and hygiene concerns, I won't be coming back -- and wouldn't recommend it to others.

There is so much variety of food here and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. Our server Cassius went out of his way to make our experience great. Would definitely go back here again

Went here on what ended up being their opening night! Staff is exceptional drinks were amazing, View is to die for, only had an appetizer but it was wonderful too! Try this place, the fresh stir fry bar cooked in front of you looked fresh and delicious!

I only have great things to say about this place. The staff were very attentive. If you're unfamiliar with how the restaurant works, they are happy to give you a tour and walkthrough the process. The cooks were friendly and happy to make suggestions. You could tell they were having fun putting on shows for the guests. Everything was immaculate. The view from the restaurant was incredible overlooking the bay. The options for different food options is only limited by your imagination. They have something for everyone; large fresh seafood selection, steak, chicken, sausage, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, tons of veggies. You can make stir fries, pasta, fajitas, pilaf, etc. I will definitely be a frequent patron here.

10/10 would recommend, the food was amazing and the staff was phenomenal. we got the all you can eat buffet for lunch and I got an Elysian space dust which was great and the misses got a fire + ice lemonade cocktail which was smooth and not to strong. If your looking for a nice eating spot with a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz with a dash of the San Rafael bridge i would highly recommend it and don't forget to say hi to the lovely bartender/host Moises as he is super funny and very informative about everything and made our first time that much more amazing

Worst experience ever! First, we walked in on a Tuesday when it wasn't busy at all. The good news was we got to choose our seats at an amazing window view of Alcatraz island and the bay. After sitting down for a bit, no server came so we went to the interactive grill and followed the directions on the wall. I've been to interactive grill places before but this one had very mediocre meat choices and sauces and tiny bowls. It was underwhelming to say the least. Some of the dishes were not washed well and some sauces were empty. I looked past this though. The best part was being our food up to watch the cook grill it. My son loved this part! The plate was filled with the small portion but you could go back unlimited times. I had steak and veggies with noodles and teriyaki sauce. It was good.... Not amazing. It was exactly what I could make at home. Then, I went back to try a different flavor with Alfredo sauce and fettuccini noodles and broccoli and chicken. It was horrible because it was mixed with the flavors that were already on the grill. My son loved the noodles! Which I could make at home for $1. The whole time we were eating, I was wondering about drinks. Nobody ever came to talk to us, so I drank my water bottle. Finally, I asked a lady how we can pay to leave. Then, a man came apologizing that he didn't know we were there and he was supposed to be our server. So, he offered my son and me free sodas. We reluctantly accepted. But... 20 minutes later, he came with what was supposed to be Starry soda. He apologized that he didn't come earlier. There were about 2 families eating in the whole restaurant at this time, so I'm not sure what he was doing. But.... The soda was not soda... there was no flavor at all. Finally, after he came back to give us the check, I told him about the soda and he apologized that the soda machine was at its end and he'd look into it. Then, when I saw our check was incorrect, I waited another 20 minutes. I hardly saw this guy so we kept waiting forever to see him. Then, he still didn't give us soda. He said they haven't fixed it yet. Then, he fixed the check. And offered free cheesecake. My son wanted to try the dessert even though we were there forever. So, we accepted. The cheesecake was fine, not amazing. We finished half of it. I left still hungry and thirsty. It was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great service, drinks and views!! Only came for drinks but food sounded amazing. Immediately was seated and served quickly.

Came to eat dinner with my wife on fleet week weekend and this is definitely the highlight of our weekend. Great ambiance, food, and the staff from the waiters, cook, manager, etc. Go out of there way to ensure you are enjoying your experience.

Nathan, Moses, Dimitri, and Evelia were the best staff ever!! Ambience was amazing and they all gave us the best service that we have received in SF so far. We will be back very soon to see them !!!

My friends and I came in one afternoon and, despite there being maybe 10 people in the entire restaurant, we waited over 25 minutes for our drinks. When they finally arrived, every single drink was incorrect, but we didn't bother saying anything because we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Our server seemed more focused on pushing appetizers or food that it felt like the delay was intentional so we'd get hungry and spend more. The staff overall weren't very attentive; we even saw a couple of people walk in, sit down, and leave after getting no service. The views were nice but that's about it.

Excellent service and great food. You can't beat the view from the bar of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Terrible service they dropped a plate on the stove and laughed at us and told us it's fine but we argued with them they also didn't check my id or my friends id

My family and I went here Sunday. Almost a perfect experience! Luka was our server. He was awesome. Very kind and accommodating. The food is awesome. Really good and good quality. You add that to sitting next to a window. The food plus the view made it an awesome super fun experience! We are all excited to go back. The only thing I hope they change is their napkins. Their napkins are nice. But they're made out of some material where as soon as you touch them or use them small pieces start falling off and floating around the air. It was a bit annoying. Overall though a super fun time. I'm already hungry to go back. The all you can eat steak and shrimp alone make it worth while.

I had brought a group of friends from all over the country to try this place during our vacation and boy was it a mistake. Upon entering the establishment we were greeting and sat right away, we were given a small explanation of how the menu worked. A few people in the group ordered alcohol but no IDs were checked. The waitress stated that since we "had no kids" in our group it was ok (we didn't but still) once we had all of our drinks in we got up to check the selections. The cook began telling us what we could and couldn't do but didn't really explain what he wanted us to do exactly. Several in our group hadn't been to a Mongolian style kitchen and weren't used to the choices. When most of us finished filling our bowls the chef asked us to line up as he began putting the bowls on the grill. There were 9 of us in the group so there were several bowls on the grill. Things were going well and another cook had joined him. Upon the other cook joining, both of cooks began to have causal talk in Spanish and distracted each other leading to a plate being dropped directly on the grill. One of our party spoke Spanish and heard them joke and laugh about dropping it. we asked them to please clean the whole grill since the shards of the plate could have gotten into the food. We received push back on that request as they stated that they had cleaned the affected food, we requested again that we wanted it clean as it was a health violation. They got upset but did eventually agree. It was at this point we did not feel comfortable eating here as that is not a situation that a chef should joke about nor should it be something that it argued against. We left for the sake of our health and don't plan on returning. Please train your chefs to be safe when it comes to the food and don't argue with customers when it come to their health.
