We've stayed here many times and have come back because it was nice. The prices were reasonable, they offered a simple breakfast, and they had a working jacuzzi. This time was different. On the plus side, the property is right across from the lake, so you can have a nice view (or you can have a peak of a view), and the rooms are fairly well kept, and have a fridge, a small microwave, and a Keurig type coffee maker. On the down side, they've switched to keypads on the door which worked only the 2nd or 3rd time we punched in our number, the prices have gone up quite a bit and the breakfast went away. The lobby is shut and everything is now done by an app including reserving, checking in and out, etc. Check in time is at 4, which is not unreasonable, but check out time is 10, which is bright and early if you'd like to have a pre-departure jacuzzi. But oh, turns out the jacuzzi stays locked until noon (WHY??). I had an extenuating circumstance this morning and requested a noontime checkout so i could attend my 9-10:30 meeting, and then still have time to have a jacuzzi. They offered us an 11 a.m. checkout but if we wanted to pay $50 we could stay the extra hour. Their rooms undergo extra cleaning, of course, due to the pandemic. However, we all know that most folks do not check out on Saturday in Lake Tahoe, and many folks aren't even getting their rooms serviced daily these days. And we all know that if they did have to clean all the other rooms, most folks are gone skiing pretty early, so they would have plenty of rooms to clean in the 2 extra hours we were requesting. In the end, it was probably better, because when we sat in the jacuzzi after our ski day, we noticed that there was black scum along the sides of the tub--pretty gross. So I'm pretty frustrated, and sad because I thought we'd pretty much found the right place to say for our needs in North Lake, but it looks like the search goes on...
