I recently stayed at Firelite Lodge for two nights with my kids, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. What stood out most was the location, quiet and peaceful, yet still central to everything we needed. It offered a perfect balance of privacy and convenience. The service was also excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made our stay comfortable from start to finish. This is a great spot for families, and I would definitely consider staying here again for the quality of service and unbeatable location.

Google
Nice clean place. Room was large and had a bathroom with tub. Good size hot tub. Love that you do not have to check in or out at the office and no need for a key or card to enter the room. Lodge phone employees were nice and helpful

Google
We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. We absolutely loved the location, and the lake view from our room. The proximity to good restaurants and beaches was a key factor for us. The rooms were very well maintained, clean and conveniently setup. The staff was very helpful and detail oriented with the check-in and check-out instructions. Highly recommended to stay here while you are in the area.

I had a wonderful stay at Firelite Lodge! The room was spotless, with clean white beddings that made everything feel fresh and comfortable. It’s also super convenient and cozy—there’s a microwave, fridge, and even a dining table, which made it feel like a home away from home. One of the highlights has to be the hot tub—if you’re a hot tub person, don’t skip this place! It’s the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. Customer service was also top-notch. Every request we had was handled right away with no fuss. Would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay again!

Google
The hotel has a very good location, across of street there is a small beach and a small marina offering kayak and paddleboard for rent. The beds were very comfortable. There are two restaurants right next to the hotel and an ice cream place with a nice garden. I recommend this hotel

Google
Our room was nice and clean. Comfortable bed. Staff were quick to respond to our needs. Would recommend this place! It’s just across the lake. Close to shops, restaurants and stores.

Google
My group of 4 stayed at this lodge for 2 nights, and was perfect for our weekend trip. It was a great location: easy to drive in from the 80, close to good beaches/restaurants, and right by the water. Check in and check out was easy via text, which was nice since we arrived late in the evening. Would stay here again!

Google
We stayed one night on our way through. Easiest check in/check out I’ve experienced. Simple, no frills, but has all the necessities. Cleanest hotel I’ve seen last few years. Beds are comfortable enough & shower was good pressure & hot water. We stayed in spring & room did get warm. It was nice they supplied a fan. Next time we’ll crack sliding door to bring in cool air overnight. Would definitely stay again next time we come through. Super great location, parking is limited but we found a spot. We could hear teenagers in middle of night who stayed in room above, but rest of rooms around us were quiet.

Yelp
I couldn't be happier with my stay. I only did one night, which does not allow you to enjoy the experience. Will definitely be returning when my schedule allows for longer. First, I'd book directly through the site and not airbnb. This way you can choose your room, to avoid some of the issues other have named, ie. Noise from neighbors, etc. I picked the lake view room which is the top floor. I was at the end which was great as I'm sensitive to sound. Unless you can pick on airbnb which it didn't seem when I tried at least. It was also cheaper directly through the site. View. The lake view is mid, as the kids say ha The trees block some of the view. But it's not a direct lake access hotel, so I wasn't too upset. It was still lovely to look at and relax. There is an ice and water station which is appreciated. The room was very clean. I was excited with how clean it was. You also get 3 seperate cleaning needs in the shower. Not that 1 in 3 mystery blend some places offer. Only thing, I don't think there are actual front desk people, but they are available via text. But I could be wrong. Looked closed when I tried to enter and they had the contact number posted. There is also no elevator that I saw. Last thing, they have a very cute set up for work for all the remote workers which will definitely have me returning to utilize that! It's a perfect remote set up.

Yelp
Would stay here again. Why? Wasn't here for more than an hour while awake. In fact, most of the pictures here on Yelp are unrecognizable because we arrived late, checked in with no contact from anyone (message with door code included) and left without going to the front office. Had WiFi. Big plus. Had mini-fridge and cups. Two sinks (one in bathroom, one in mini-kitchen-ish thing). My gas fireplace was on when we got there. Didn't adjust it so it may have been on the whole time we were there. I think it's a thermostat-regulated appliance but like I said, didn't touch it. Might have been on when we left? Clean towels, clean shower, clean room, fireplace. Weren't there for 12 hours total. Did the trick. Not sure I'd be thrilled about staying here for much longer. Very close to the road, across street from Lake Tahoe.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning location. I wasn't sure what to expect arriving late in the evening. But my goodness the next morning I was glued to the balcony doors. Watching the sunrise was amazing and very close to the beach across the street. Very cozy room great for a solo trip or a couples trip. Love the fireplace and the overall layout. Definitely grab a room if you are looking in the area. Seamless check in. Excellent communication.

Yelp
The view is so beautiful from here you can not see it from certain rooms but when you walk outside you see the lake It was very interesting cause it was all without seeing someone there is legit no one at the front but you can text them and they are pretty good at responding There is a fireplace as a heater and it was beautiful and it was pretty clean the hdmi in the room didn't work but that's okay we were able to screen share so that worked out I do very much recommend here and I would be back when I come back to north Tahoe

Garrett J.

Yelp
If you have an oversize vehicle ( I'm in a semi truck) they wanted to charge me a $75 oversize vehicle parking fee on a $96 room. They were far from capacity so there was plenty of room to park. I can not believe that this is their policy.

esther t.

Yelp
They call it the Firelite Lodge but it should be called the Empty Hearth Lodge. The gas fire place would not stay on. We called for service, they tried to fix it but it couldn't work, it was set to a thermostat. This was not set up this way before new management. The fire place would stay on all night, we stayed multiple times. This new management does not deliver what they advertise! 2. Hot tub was not working initially! they told us there was sand in it and they told another couple that it was a thermostat issue! 3. we turned on the iron and the fire alarm went off!! Too many issues, does not deliver what they advertise...

Yelp
Usually not moved to write reviews, but this experience was so poor I felt taken advantage of. And, since I made my decision off of positive Yelp reviews, felt like I add a dissenting opinion in case someone falls for it like I did. Other than the incredible location relative to the lake, this place was a disaster. As others have pointed out, it's "no contact". Not only does this mean you won't see another human being and no one is on premises to welcome you, staying here was like dealing with the DMV. I am not exaggerating that after booking I had to fill out at least 3 forms and received over 10 different 10 messages with automated info about the stay, checkin, checkout, etc. The room itself was the MOST perfunctory roadside motel, but I paid $300 in the dead of winter. I just needed a bed for a single night en route elsewhere, and I felt taken advantage of. Popcorn walls, uncomfortable bed and pillows, cheapest shower imaginable, not even a bottle of water for $300. Not a single benefit to the premises, room down in a basement effectively, furniture inside was the cheapest possible 2 person table from a cafeteria. Room layout was mega bizarre, bed stuffed on one side with the other half totally clear and the TV 10 feet from the bed at an odd angle. Clock blinking and unset. Clearly virtually no care goes into this place. I felt taken advantage of and insulted, honestly. Don't stay here.

Yelp
Great view! We had the best room with a view! Clean property. Easy self check in that is 100% contactless. No one is on the property. Great value for price & location. I would consider the property a 3 star motel. No frills but for the price, great value. You are directly across street from the lake. Walking distance to good restaurants and the place is clean, well maintained & our room had cozy fireplace. I will definitely stay here again & again.

Yelp
- Everything we expected and more! Highly, highly recommended - The lodge is just a road away from the lake - Beautiful lake and mountain views from the third floor room window - The room had a small kitchenette; sink, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, wine glasses, wine opener - It also had a thermostat-controlled fireplace which was AMAZING - The balcony had two chairs and a table - The bathroom was spacious, no toothbrush/toothpaste provided - Enough drawers in the room for all of your stuff - Pool and hot-tub were closed due to COVID-19 - Free parking - Restaurants nearby, within a 10-15min drive either way - I would come back and stay here next time

Yelp
Flawless room. Amazing customer service. Can't get much better than that. Room had everything, and was a very reasonable price for what you get. My guests and I enjoyed our stay here, and will definitely be returning. If you're looking for a cheap, clean, and cozy place to stay located near lots of stores, restaurants, and gas stations, this is the one.

Yelp
This place has a lot going for it, with some significant drawbacks. The location is stunning and our room had a tiny sliver of a view. The management communicated quickly when/if we had issues. ...but there is no one onsite to help. I think this is indicative of a new concept in hospitality where you log in to portals and get texted key codes instead of actually interacting with a human being. Very convenient for the hotel, less than ideal for the guests. In order to get into my room, I had to access a website, fill out forms, confirm my identity, log into something, etc etc. I can only imagine if my mom ever came here to stay. She'd STILL be standing by the front door trying to figure out how to jump through all the hoops. As others have noted, there was no breakfast and, when we were there, the hot tub appeared closed. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower worked well. The only other drawback was that we had a corner room and someone walked close enough to our room to peek in when we had the blinds open (not realizing we were right next to the walkway from the other side).

Yelp
Friendly staff! Loved the room- clean, spacious, romantic with fireplace. We stayed on the third floor and had a BEAUTIFUL view of the lake. No elevator which made baggage a bit tricky, but we asked the staff for help and they were great. Quiet area, very easy parking and several restaurants and bars within walking distance. I also love the no contact check in! I hate how long it usually takes to check in when you get to a place after driving for hours and you just want to lie down! Their system is quick, easy and painless. I also always lose my key, so keyless entry is fantastic. Can't wait to stay here again!

Yelp
Pro's: right across the street from beach. Close to most other things in Tahoe Vista and Kings Beach. Clean. Fireplace (for winter). Con's: no A/C, only table fan. No bar soap in bath (not a biggy). Right on main road so traffic noise is terrible. Ice bucket in cupboard but no ice machine that I could see.

Stephen G.

Yelp
My first Yelp review but this is needed. This is a "no contact" hotel/motel, which means no staff ever on premises. A single phone number is provided, seems to be a center, possibly out of the country. Agent has no authority to actually correct problems. We arrived mid May. Center court swimming pool had perhaps two feet of slime green stagnant water in it, a cloud of fresh hatched mosquitos rising out of it directly over guest rooms. Our "lake view' room overlooked the pool, was level with the roof of the main office and had 3 thick powerlines 20 feet away from the window at eye level. Looking through them and over the hotel across the street you could see a postage stamp square of lake view. Room was adequate, which is why it gets one star. Contacted the number provided and was met with hostility--and refused to accomadate in any way. Supervisor only responded after we said we were checking out and cancelling payment. Room was left untouched. We received a voicemail after 9pm telling us they were keeping our entire two night deposit after "their ivestigation" into the matter. A complete carnie level scam. So many other lodges available in the area. Please avoid them for your own benefit.

Yelp
I posted some updated photo. We had a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly. I would come back here again. I wanted to stay on the third floor to have that scenic view but they were all book so we were stuck on the first. Turns out when you stay on the first floor you also have a small patio that opens to the pool, parking lot, and walk way to the lake. Parking is free and the lake is literally across the street with kayak rental. This area is great for kids. About a mile up there's a golf/arcade . There are plenty of coffee shop and restaurants in the area but not walking distance unless you don't mind the walk. There's also a Safeway and Rite Aid near by all within about 1-2miles from the hotel. 8/28/20 our room experience Pro: -1st and 3rd floor with small patio deck -Fireplace in room -Bed and drawers modern look -Cable Tv -Small Coffee/dinning table in room -Large space -Wine glasses and wine opener -Heated pool -Lake across the street Con: -No Sink in bathroom instead placed awkwardly outside of bathroom -no actual closet, cloths rack near entrance door

Yelp
What a great place! I have enjoyed staying there. Very clean and nice place. Everything is fully automated. The only thing I wish they had is a boiler for hot water so I could make a tea. It is very close to the lake and sled hill park. I will visit them again for sure in the future. Recommend!

Yelp
Our confidence in this lodge began when we were unable to process the discount online w/the reservation. Within 5 minutes, the owner called back and applied to our credit card. Ring cameras in the hallway, clean, across from the lake and 1st ever black makeup towel-genius! Upon check-out, they called within 5 minutes to let us know we left items in the fridge. So kind. Great location.

Yelp
Everything one could ask for, great bed (and pillows), view of Tahoe (3rd floor room), friendly people. Asked about restaurants and got a list of 20+ that has prices, locations and types of food. Very nice room with a private balcony with table/chairs just outside of our room. A gas fireplace that automatically turns on and off with a switch on the wall. All the usual additions- continental breakfast, fridge/microwave/coffee service etc. It was the 50th anniversary for my wife and I, and we enjoyed it immensely and will be back- soon.

Yelp
Really too bad this place has new management. I made a reservation for this weekend, and contracted Covid today. I reached out immediately but I was 24 hours too late to make any changes to my reservation or cancel without incurring a 50% fee of the original price. I didn't even want to cancel I just wanted to move to a different day. Too bad Firelite lodge, you won't be getting my money anymore, even after years of staying with you guys. I sure hope none of you encounter Covid during this holiday season and have to plead your case to someone equally unsympathetic and greedy as yourselves. Might I add you guys are sold out this weekend and would have had zero issues filling the room I can no longer use.....

Yelp
I normally don't write negative reviews. I try to be nice but I'm very unhappy about the dishonesty that goes on here. I was charged for a stain on my queen bed, which I noticed when I immediately arrived at 11:30pm but it looked like a stain that had been present for many years. I was too tired from my drive of 6-7 hours and just slept on the bed forgetting to tell them about it. After check out I find out that they are charging me for the stained spots that were previously there before I arrived. I was infuriated. It's not about the charge, or the paltry fee. If I did it, I wouldn't mind paying for it. I tipped 20+. But the principle, the dishonesty and charging me for something I did not do. I feel wronged. That is infuriating. I contacted the customer service and they said I should have read the tiny clause and sent them a picture of it. I'm sorry but who reads the clause tiny prints before every hotel stay? Even lawyers don't do that before every hotel stay. I didn't care about the fee but wanted an apology for them dishonestly charging me. But they refused. Next time you go here, take a picture of all the #towels, #blankets in case they charge u for something you did not do. The pure dishonesty is infuriating and unacceptable.

Yelp

Yelp
Decent looking rooms even though the outside looks a little sketch. We stayed on the first floor by the pool which was perfect. Their location is amazing because you aren't far from anything and the beach is literally across the street. My biggest complaint is their beds are small and VERY uncomfortable!!! My 4 year old, husband and I couldn't fit sleeping side bu side. My husband had to sleep on the foot side of the bed so we could fit in the same bed! Give it a shut yourself and see what you think.

Yelp
Nice hotel in north lake tahoe Came to lake tahoe for the new years, and choose this Firelite Lodge because of it's close proximity to the Squaw Valley ski resort. The drive to the mountain is pretty quick, about 20-30 minutes one way, and so we ended up being there everyday before 9am, and was literally waiting for the lifts to start. Talk about being the first to get on the mountain! In terms of the lodge itself, the interiors look very new. In the main lodge check-in area, the lodge itself is small, but look clean and nice. They also serve free breakfast in the main lodge area, and even though the breakfast didn't have fancy scrambled eggs or bacon, there was a lot of tasty items like fresh fruits, a waffle maker, toasted bagels and raisin bread slices, and hard boiled eggs. A lot of pretty tasty, healthy stuff that gives you the energy to tackle the mountains for the rest of the day Inside the individual rooms, the vibe inside is also amazing. The bathroom is pristine clean, and spotless, which is amazing. The bedding looked pretty much new. The heat inside was great--we went their on the coldest day of the year (according to the weather channel), and the heat was so good in the room that we actually felt hot and had to open the door at one point for a few min. There was even an actual fireplace in each individual room. The TV had a lot of channels, and there was a lot of equipment like wine glasses and bottle openers which was a pleasant surprise. It's no wonder this place had no vacancy during the 3 days we were there, with a huge red flashing "no vacancy" sign near the entrance outside. Will definitely come back to this place next time, if I can find a spot!

Yelp
Our Family went here for the first time with other Family's who have stayed here the year before and recommended since we were joining them on this 4day Vacation...As a Mom was really happy they had the shampoo and conditioner and body was pump thing on the wall that was enough for us to use that 4days even though I always take ours coz I don't like those small bottles and the had hand soap my one thing was ok with in the bathroom was that on our last night they only gave us 2large Towels for 4ppl...the other concern was the washer and dryer was not working and the close the ice machine and hot tub at 9pm in the summer should be left open at least till a little later...other than that we loved our stay here and will be back next year....the convenience of it being close to things and place to go was a plus and was really happy to see that they had an envelope for us to leave for our Maid who cleaned our room

Luyi G.

Yelp
We were just having some locals over for after a day skiing in the hot tub and we being quite chill but they terminated our stay. They also tried to make us pay for the entire stay even though it was our second night. Poor service and respect!

Akhand S.

Yelp
Rude and extremely unprofessional service. The only good they have working for them is the location, however its not worth the hassle and dealing with unprofessional and a misguiding service. When we called them before booking the room, they said we have enough parking for a full size passenger van, however this is just wrong and we had to struggle to find parking for multiple days we stayed here. The rooms were not clean and smelled really bad. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

Yelp
CLEAN & COMFY! It's a cute little lodge located right across the water. Staff was very friendly & welcoming. Beds & pillows were comfortable, everything was VERY clean! Definitely a place to stay again!

Yelp
Hotel and service was great, however, there's one person that just ruined the trip instantly. We were near a private room (which is in the inn!!) and my friend's phone dropped on accident. Keep in mind, we were on the side of the inn where there's a path to walk on. Instantly, this guy comes out of the private room and goes "What are you guys doing huh this is private property" and tells us to leave. Like huh?? We're renting a room here we didn't know that whole inn was private. And then he rushes out his other door towards my parents to scold them and to "control their kids". It's as if we did something wrong on purpose. Firelite lodge, get that guy out of here. He's such a buzzkill for no reason. BTW, this guy looked old and has glasses if that helps. His room is towards the front of the inn facing the beach. So TERRIBLY sorry we were there trying to pass by and her phone dropped.

Yelp
Sandra the employee at the front desk was so nice and helpful. Her customer service makes me wanna come back for a second visit.
google avatar

Ian M.

Yelp
I received very poor customer service from the front desk here last night. I had a reservation there last night but due to severe weather on the drive up was not able to make it, so I called to ask if I could change my reservation to tonight instead. I understand that per there cancelation policy I was expected to pay the full room rate, but I asked if there was any way they could work with me. But rather than just politely saying no the person I spoke with interrupted me multiple times, raised her voice with me, and scolded me for even asking. I go up to Tahoe pretty regularly, and was looking for a convenient, inexpensive place to try for future trips. So congratulations Firelite, by being stingy and inflexible you got my money for one night, but I will not be staying with you in the future, when had you helped me out and not been so rude on the phone I very likely would have come back multiple times.

Yelp
I am posting a review on Yelp because my stay was so great at the Firelight Lodge! Starting with the in-person phone service and friendly front desk staff, this place was really nice! Of course, because of Covid, the pool and hot tub were not available, and there was no breakfast service. But the room was amazingly clean, from the bedding to the bathroom, to the extra bar/sink in the room. We use the fridge, the microwave, and the in-room coffee maker. And the fireplace in the room was nice and toasty! Amazing location, we'll be back...

Sarah Q.

Yelp
Stayed two nights here in July 2020. Nice location across the lake but no coffee shops near by. I was meeting family for lunch so they followed my car so i can check in while we look for a place to eat. Staff at front desk Was rude and said if we were only a couple checking in Since other cars followed me. I said yes of course. What the heck? Next time won't stay here. Paid almost $400 for two nights so i expect to be treated with courtesy and good customer service.

Yelp
The Good stuff: Free Continental Breakfast with two cereals (honey bunches of oats, cinnamon toast crunch). There was also water, orange juice, or milk, Coffee, or Tea. They have a pool and spa, but we never used them due to the snow. They are located across the street from the lake and sandwiched in between a lot of restaurants (Captain Jon's, El Sanchos, Spindleshanks, and the Old Range Steak House. I did reviews on all but the steak house. The staff was friendly, room was clean, and we had our own balcony overlooking the pool and part of the lake. The Bad stuff: The television had 8 channels- most of which consisted of infomercials and the tv guide that listed a ton of channels we couldn't get. Their toilet paper was 1-ply and their towels didn't work too well (they would soak up part of the moisture, but stay wet. Usually towels are supposed to soak up all moisture and still be a bit dry.). I could get by with it, but I don't know others would feel about that. The heater worked well, but had to be turned to 80 degrees F in order for the room to reach a comfortable 70 degree temperature. Would I go there again? Yes. It is a cheaper lodge, so I wasn't expecting much. It exceeded my expectations and is in a good location.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here the week of Christmas and were looking forward to a nice winter getaway. The lady at the front desk was nice and recommended we pick up the local magazine next to the door since this was our first time staying in the area. Let's start with the positives. Value - I chose this place because of the free breakfast, supposedly good wifi, and its proximity to the 3 ski resorts on the north side. Being in a hotel, we avoided having to pay the ridiculous holiday up charges of staying in a cabin or renting someone else's vacation home during Christmas. Updated Accommodations - The room had a nice fireplace that acted as the heater. Flat screen TV was nice too. We didn't utilize the kitchenette much but it looked decent with a fridge, microwave, sink, two wine glasses and wine opener. It even had two USB outlets for charging devices. The bathroom is updated and modern. I appreciated how the shower head was against the wall facing in towards our unit (and not the shared wall) because if all the units are this way, the likelihood of hearing your neighbor showering is greatly reduced. Bed - comfortable and warm. The lady at the front desk mentioned that they change the mattresses after summer to make them more comfortable for winter. The pillows are very soft but give little neck support for my liking. Now for the negatives. Bad Internet Reception - Our room (#27) on the third floor had zero cell phone reception with AT&T so getting wifi was very important. However, our internet reception was terrible and dropped off frequently. We were on the side closest to the office but I had to sit on the floor, right next to the balcony to get any decent reception. Seems like they used to have a second router available and I think they would greatly benefit from having it again. If it was there, half of the guests should connect to it if they can't boost the range and bandwidth of their current router. From my testing, I believe the router is in the office. This affected my stay so minus one star. Noise - On the third floor, I expected it to be pretty quiet since I wouldn't have to deal with the possibility of anyone stomping above me. I was not happy about waking up at 4am to the sound of my neighbor's TV through the wall. I could also hear them talking through the walls too. I'm a light sleeper and this is one of my biggest pet peeves about sharing walls with others. Additionally the gas fireplace makes popping noises which sounds much like the dripping of a leaky faucet. Minus another star. Bathroom - These ones are just me nitpicking. The sink has zero counter space but there is a drawer under the sink to store toiletries. The bathroom doesn't have an air duct to air it out after a shower so guests are asked to open the window in the bathroom for ventilation. Problem is, the window is small and located right at the ceiling. I'm 5' 2" and don't appreciate having to drag the dining chair back and forth after every shower. A foldable step stool in the room would've been helpful. Conclusion - a great place to stay when it isn't the busy season and you want to be close to places on the north side. Internet is available but might be unreliable. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. On a side note, there aren't any elevators. If you require wheelchair accessibility, call ahead to ask about accommodations for your needs.

Yelp
We looked at a ton of reviews and hotels before we settled on this place and I'm glad we chose here. Room was clean and neat. Comp breakfast with Belgian waffle maker was very good. Free WiFi was most helpful as being in management, I usually have to work at least for a few minutes even when I'm off. I understand they remodeled last year and they did a good job. I like the bathroom tiles and sinks. The shower head should be changed out. I hate the ones they have but they worked. There is a sink and good size mini fridge with microwave and coffee maker in the main part of the room which was very nice. Only gripe there is that the sink is shallow...standard bathroom size depth so it is hard to wash a water bottle. Doesn't have a DVD player and you can't hook anything up to the big screen flat screen but the desk said that is in the works. Like this place and would have been a 5 except for one thing: the room was too warm. Weird to say that about a room in the winter but we got HOT! We only had the fireplace going to dry out our gloves, etc an the. Had to shut if off. We had a middle floor room so mate everyone around us had their heat on but we couldn't keep ours running for very long without going from comfortable to too hot pretty quick. There is no AC unit in the room so I don't think we'd stay here during the summer based on our winter experience but we would def choose to stay here again.

Yelp
Just got back from this amazing hotel/lodge. This easily has been the cleanest place I've ever been to in a very long time. By clean I mean it's sanitized from the roof to the ground, corner to corner, inch by inch. It is literally 20 feet from the lake and very close to local restaurants and grocery stores which is very handy. Oh and before I forget, the view is mesmerizing. There is a balcony and you can see the entire lake and the forest. We were on the 3rd floor and it was just perfect. And did I mention the little fireplace you get in your room? It's simply awesome. The parking spots are on the smaller side and it's tricky to fit a large truck but that's far from a let down. You are staying in the forest, by the lake, 50 miles from the nearest major city, I don't think parking size matters much. Overall it was a blast!

Yelp
Nice intimate lodge with a beautiful beach directly across the street. Spacious, clean room with a fireplace and kitchenette. Free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast.

Yelp
Stayed here for a night last minute and it's a pretty good place! - cheapest in the area or northshore, 5-10 minutes from northstar ($79 + tax whereas others were $130+) - clean - has a heater in the room (which was good for the cold weather in tahoe) - even has microwave and fridge! - continental breakfast (make your own waffles, bagels, cinnamon rolls, cereal, hot chocolate, tea, coffee) - pool (but it's frozen during the winter time) Only thing that was kind of weird was they closed at 10pm, so when we said we would be arriving at 1am they asked for our credit card info and they would tell us our room and leave it unlocked. Weird. I thought all hotels were open 24hours? That means a hobo can just sneak in and find an open room to stay for the night haha. But overall good place.

Yelp
We stayed there on Saturday night in one of the premium rooms that has a fireplace and couch. It was a spacious room and we were actually impressed by the cleanliness and the overall presentation. It has a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee pot, flat screen TV, and my favorite is the nice and cozy fireplace. We paid $114 (tax included), which wasn't too bad. They also offer complimentary breakfast, but of couse, don't expect too much. I will come back again because the lodge is located in Tahoe Vista, only 10 minutes from Tahoe City and literally 0.2 mile to my other favorite restaurant in Tahoe, Spindleshank's. :)

Yelp
I've been coming up to the Firelite for almost a decade starting around the early 2000s, because it was reasonably priced and convenient to Northstar, Squaw and Sugarbowl. Staying at Firelite was never about staying in a really nice motel, as the rooms were kind of dated (even back then), the WIFI reception was iffy, but the rooms were pretty roomy for a couple of guys crashing at a motel in order to hit the slopes. During those 10 years, nothing ever changed, which was just fine with me. Then the drought hit, and I stopped coming for 5 years. Well, I'm finally back and I was in for a surprise. Walking into the reception, I could see the interior had been updated with a more modern style, less rustic, stuck in the 70's style of the past. I was slightly disappointed not to have been greeted by one of the friendly Polish owners who used to recognize me, but was informed by the receptionist that the ownership had not changed. Entering our room (which I'd stayed in previously, multiple times), it was apparent that they had fully renovated the interior. The bathroom is really nicely done, the heater updated with a nice modern fireplace, WIFI signal strong and relatively fast, and the towels fresh and clean. It has been 5 years since I've been back, but it's like I'm back at my old home in Tahoe, only it's much, much nicer than before, it even got the wife's approval.

Yelp
Great room at a great price! They have done some renovations recently and the place looks great! My daughters and I visited Tahoe for the first time ever and we stayed here. We were able to check in early which was nice. The room was modern, clean, comfortable and cozy. We were on the bottom floor but could walk out to the pool. You could only see a sliver of the lake from our room but that was ok. We had 2 queen beds that were really comfortable. The fireplace warmed up the room quite nicely. The breakfast was simple but nice and you could even make your own waffles. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my family and friends.

Yelp
Loved the log cabin decor in the rooms and having private beach access was awesome! This will be our go to place for all future visits!

Yelp
We've stayed here many times and have come back because it was nice. The prices were reasonable, they offered a simple breakfast, and they had a working jacuzzi. This time was different. On the plus side, the property is right across from the lake, so you can have a nice view (or you can have a peak of a view), and the rooms are fairly well kept, and have a fridge, a small microwave, and a Keurig type coffee maker. On the down side, they've switched to keypads on the door which worked only the 2nd or 3rd time we punched in our number, the prices have gone up quite a bit and the breakfast went away. The lobby is shut and everything is now done by an app including reserving, checking in and out, etc. Check in time is at 4, which is not unreasonable, but check out time is 10, which is bright and early if you'd like to have a pre-departure jacuzzi. But oh, turns out the jacuzzi stays locked until noon (WHY??). I had an extenuating circumstance this morning and requested a noontime checkout so i could attend my 9-10:30 meeting, and then still have time to have a jacuzzi. They offered us an 11 a.m. checkout but if we wanted to pay $50 we could stay the extra hour. Their rooms undergo extra cleaning, of course, due to the pandemic. However, we all know that most folks do not check out on Saturday in Lake Tahoe, and many folks aren't even getting their rooms serviced daily these days. And we all know that if they did have to clean all the other rooms, most folks are gone skiing pretty early, so they would have plenty of rooms to clean in the 2 extra hours we were requesting. In the end, it was probably better, because when we sat in the jacuzzi after our ski day, we noticed that there was black scum along the sides of the tub--pretty gross. So I'm pretty frustrated, and sad because I thought we'd pretty much found the right place to say for our needs in North Lake, but it looks like the search goes on...

Yelp
Great small lodge on the shores of Lake Tahoe. First time staying here and wanted to check in late due to travel time. The staff was great in accommodating me. The location is awesome and the rooms are great. The fireplace and sliding doors opening up to the lake are greatly appreciated. Well cared for, nice pool, and obvious good management. Had an issue late last night with a large Spanish speaking group in a neighboring room having a loud, unruly party. Called the Sheriff's Department but I don't know if they responded or not. I so appreciated the manager who personally went to their room at 2 a.m. and professionally, politely but firmly told them to knock it off. I really liked the fact that she had the courage to tell them they were being rude and disrespectful to the other guests. They were aggressive and confrontational to her, but she kept her cool and stood up to them in a very professional manner. Finally got some sleep. It amazes me how disrespectful people can be these days. That being said, this is not the type of place for loud parties or unruly guests. This is a quiet family or romantic destination. I have a friend staying at a hotel just down the road and he decided to transfer over to Firelite today for the remainder of his two week stay. I come quite often from San Diego, and this is my new spot to stay.

Yelp
As good as they get. Beautiful room, beautiful view, beautiful location. Great customer service, a fire[place in the room and wine glasses provided, with a corkscrew! Because if timing, I asked if I cold check in a bit early. Absolutely no problem at all, and no extra charges! Highest possible recommendation!

Yelp
My fiancé and I recently stayed here over the Labor Day weekend. I had read mixed reviews about this place, and it our first time visiting Tahoe so I was kind of on the fence about booking. But the price was reasonable compared to the other hotels in the area, so I figured why not give it a shot. We had such an amazing stay! Even with a lot of the regular amenities suspended (no continental breakfast and limited housekeeping) due to COVID, the lodge had everything we needed. The front desk staff was very nice- they even let us check in to our room a few hours early. Room had a mini fridge, fireplace and comfy beds. It was clean and cozy, not the greatest view from our room (facing a busy street) and no AC but there is a window fan that gets the job done and the lake is literally right across the street so you can't beat the location. Just a couple minute drive to the supermarket and restaurants. There is a kayak and stand up paddle board rental service right across the street at the lake, and the lodge sits right on the edge of the forest, which has great running trails and a treetop adventure and zip line course! We had a great vacation and we loved our stay at fire lite lodge!
