In a way, I don’t want to give 5 stars because I love this place so much. I’ve been here frequently and it is good! What a wonderful place to hang out and it’s good coffee. I appreciate their coffee variety for the drip coffee and those specials are so good. I’ve had a couple of their breakfasts and each one is very good!

John Thompson

Google
We stopped here for a cup of coffee and water to refresh on a hot afternoon. It is very nice with good seating, a few interesting things to read, and many interesting posters, etc.

Amanda Whiting

Google
Only been here a couple times and everyone who works here is an absolute gem. They're all so kind, the place is so cute and you feel relaxed!

Luella Schultz

Google
I had their cranberry walnut bread with turkey on it, and the bread was dry. I have had it when the bread was fresh and it’s the best thing in town. I was disappointed that both of my friend and I got these sandwiches, and the bread was dry on each of them. I mentioned that to the owner and the response I got was oh sorry. The gal who is making the sandwiches explain that sometimes the bread that is thawed out is that way. Shame on you …use fresh bread!

Lillian Goold

Google
Such a fun little spot! Me and my mom stopped in looking for coffee and this place did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and chatty and the coffee was delicious!

Google
The staff was so friendly. I ordered hot chocolate with whip cream. It was amazing!

Google
Cute little spot conveniently located in downtown Helena. I like the setting. Not a quiet coffee shop and I love that it's social. They don't have cold brew in the winter and the food is a tad spendy.

Cole Johnson

Google
Nord is a downtown staple and amazing guy. Great vibes and great coffee. Love this place.

Susanne R.

Yelp
Fun funky sandwiches, great coffee, friendly service. If you love music memorabilia you will love this place. Album covers, guitars, artwork all over. I put the menu of funky sandwiches in the photos. And I love the sign on the bathroom, very open to everyone.

Susan H.

Yelp
This is the "Friends Coffee House" of Helena, MT. From the time you enter the staff welcomes you with a smile. My favorite lunch location serving original fresh sandwiches and much more. Thank you

Tom G.

Yelp
Cute place to have some good coffee and a breakfast in downtown. Wife and I had an enjoyable morning.

Renee W.

Yelp
I love Firetower! The ambiance is chill with a nice fireplace and vinyl all over the place. It's very homey actually. I enjoyed a coffee and breakfast burrito the last time I was in and the burrito was yummy! Anything that has black olives is a thumbs up in my book. The service is also friendly and just nice.

Erma R.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch immediately felt comfortable. I was greeted immediately by the staff and really appreciated the fun and funky 70's music decor. The Tuscan chicken panini was calling to me, and it certainly didn't disappoint--grilled chicken, black olives, spinach, and provolone wrapped in a flour tortilla and grilled to perfect crispiness. It's served on a pretty plate with chips and a pickle slice. Looks like a good place to meet up for coffee and pastries, too.

John N.

Yelp
The service was amazing. Great place to just hangout. Vibe is nice. Workers love to be here. AMAZING CHIA

Thomas M.

Yelp
I love this place. The turkey sandwich is killer, it's my default every time. Friendly staff, a selection of coffee, always a treat.

Terry M.

Yelp
Excellent coffee shop. Good coffee. Friendly staff. Good basic coffee shop food. Norde, the owner, is welcoming and friendly and obviously loves his shop and the people who patronize it. Helena is lucky.

Michael T.

Yelp
The service here is laughable! I wait in line for 5 minutes just to get to the front of the line and be told "I'll be with you in a minute," while the person taking orders is making drinks. One person taking orders and making coffee and one person making food during lunch rush. Ordered a $13 panini that has a small amount of meat and toppings on it. (See picture) comes with a bag of chips. Lol! Go eat somewhere else and get better service, food, and value.

Miguel V.

Yelp
Great service friendly staff and good food. I love the them and ambiance hear great place for a quick bite or a casual meet up.

Shannon K.

Yelp
Really cool vibe, friendly and patient staff. Prices totally reasonable. Pastries, tea and hot chocolate all very good. Loved it and could spend all day here.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Enjoyed a late breakfast at FT with my child. Even though I had extra needs because of the baby, the staff was very welcoming and helpful when I had my hands full.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Service is SLOW and very RUDE. I was so disappointed. Great location and decor. Coffee was more tea than coffee. Also got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese. I assumed that the spread would be served on the side as no one asked how I wanted it or so I could decide just how much I would like. Nope. Waaaaay too much cream cheese just heaped into the middle of my tasty bagel. Yuck.

Dan G.

Yelp
Ok, we've been back to Firetower Coffee quite a few times since our original visit. We usually just get drinks or a cookie, no more sandwiches. We have yet to be disappointed! Service is always spot on! Price is always good! Atmosphere is top notch! Quickly has become my favorite place to visit....and I don't even like coffee! I did notice that one worker made better "steamers" than the other worker. No big deal. Seriously, this place is amazing!

Gary L.

Yelp
Very nice location, walkable from any parking the area. It is 9am on a Saturday morning. The crowd is lively. Price is not too bad at all. Haven't eaten yet... to come Okay, I had an omelette dish, surrounded by 4 pieces of good sized sourdough toast. Dish was good and the bread was great. I recommend trying this place out!

Joe D.

Yelp
My wife has been eating here for years, usually lunches with her gal pals while on shopping trips. It's taken her the same number of years to get me in the front door. It's a coffee house with popular breakfasts and lunches. It screams hipster....hence my reluctance. After her solid argument about the number of breweries I've dragged her into over the years, what could I do but relent. Her favorite meal is the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and apricot mayo, on cranberry-walnut bread and is usually accompanied by a cup of creamy potato-bacon soup. I have to admit, unusual as it sounds, the lunch was very good. I might of even enjoyed the place if I hadn't had to watch an x/y-gen sitting at a nearby lunch table that seats 4 working on her computer and drinking a cup of coffee...the same cup she was drinking when we arrived; the same cup when we left over an hour later (yes, the lunch service was slow). With people waiting for a table to eat their lunch, she defined the word "entitled". With couches and coffee tables or 2 person tables available for computer use, there she sat in all her hipster splendor, oblivious to any semblance of courtesy. I can't hold the management responsible for their inconsiderate customers (I met and liked the owner), so I will let my wife talk me into another of these unique and tasty sandwiches but ... I will wear my x/y-gen blinders. Post script: My wife wants to amend this review by detailing my grouch tendencies, but I assure you, I am a truly pleasant baby boomer.

Jenni O.

Yelp
A great place to grab your morning coffee. I got a cappuccino and bagel, then sat on the patio to enjoy it with a friend. The perfect place to meet up and chat!

Jason S.

Yelp
Terrific little spot to get together with friends! I took my office staff of 8 for a lunch out. ( I let them know we were coming ahead of time.) They did a great job! Sandwiches were great. Looking forward to my next lunch at the Firetower Coffee House.

Darla W.

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop with delicious hand crafted coffees- nice food and bakery selections. Friendly staff in a nice location for shopping.

Tim M.

Yelp
Friendly staff with a good sense of humor. Large, comfortable shop. Really good coffee. What's not to love?

Bailey G.

Yelp
A busy little coffee shop with unique decor and LOTS of local goodies featured. Good coffee, patient staff, fun vibes.

Donna R.

Yelp
The Owner is a hoot!! The atmosphere is really cool and friendly. Coffee is wonderful! We buy our coffee for home brewing here too!

Hal B.

Yelp
Straightforward coffee house. Hours are a bit unfortunate if you have an evening craving, but good for your daytime jitters. I ordered a latte and a snicker doodle. The latte was served in a mug, not a paper cup, which is a huge plus. Mugs always remind me of "So I Married and Axe Murderer", which is a good thing. The espresso was a bit on the bitter side for my taste, but not terrible. I would have preferred a smoother pull. The cookie was good, but I would have liked it a little softer and chewier. I really liked the music selection, but I'm a few year out of cool, so your mileage may vary. I don't know if I'd go back, it just didn't make me want to ignore all other possible options in Helena, but I'd definitely drive past starbucks to get here.

Shannon M.

Yelp
The owner here is so cool. He orders in fresh bread every day (the cranberry bread with turkey is so tasty!) And I've never ever had a person serve me who was less than fantastic. Way to go Firetower!!!!

michael b.

Yelp
So disappointed in myself it's taken this long to stop here. Awesome atmosphere, super friendly/helpful staff, TASTY coffee & the food....wow. Thank you Firetower, already looking forward to coming back!!

Cody L.

Yelp
The peppermint patty latte is crazy good. Got a burrito as well and loved it. Awesome overall vibe highly recommend

Brendie W.

Yelp
Stop in here before leaving Helena. The service was friendly, the atmosphere is quaint. The coffee was not the best. I had a vanilla latte that was extremely bitter. No taste of vanilla. I couldn't even finish it, I had the burrito which was all microwaved. Not a huge fan.

Kaori M.

Yelp
Somehow we needed coffee on the way and found this place. Unexpectedly good...also unexpectedly found Yelp sticker on the entrance door. I had latte and really good!

Paul G.

Yelp
Great coffee, served with bad attitude. Used to be me favorite coffee shop in town and I would go out of my way to stop in whenever I was in Helena. After this morning I think I'll go someplace where I can order the drink I want and not have the barista snark at me. There's a joke in here somewhere - how can you tell when a coffee shop is too popular?

Jamie G.

Yelp
Decided we needed a cup of coffee during our recent visit to Helena and found this little gem. We ordered ice Americanos which were good, but I was very pleasantly surprised how delicious the smoked turkey sandwich was. It's served on a soft cranberry bread. Sounds odd, but trust me, it's so good. The vibe is fun. There are concert posters everywhere and it got my husband and I chatting about past concerts.

Taylor M.

Yelp
We made a quick stop here for some cold brew and it certainly delivered! The coffee house was full of friendly locals and great decor. I would definitely stop back if passing through Helena again in the future.

Gayle H.

Yelp
We found the place on a recent visit and can't wait to go back. The customer service and in-house roasted coffee were phenomenal. Our food and coffee were fresh, well-priced and exceptional. The location has a wonderful "Old West Montana" vibe and the great experience made us thankful we took a chance stopping in.

Devon D.

Yelp
After having a horrible experience at The General Mercantile across the street, we came here in hope of a better experience. Being a college student, we needed a cozy place to study. This place is exactly what we were looking for. They even offer discounts for Carroll College students! The owner was very polite; we even had a brief conversation regarding his daughter with whom I attend college with. The drinks here are above average, the atmosphere is friendly and inviting, and the WiFI is a plus. I do plan on coming back when I need a coffee break. Keep up the good work!

Dannigan P.

Yelp
Adore this coffee venue. Have a layover on a flight from Helena to California. Great coffee, food, people and staff. Internet connection and great seating with a fireplace. You must stop by when you are in town.

Angeline G.

Yelp
We are visiting from out of town and we walked by and it smelled delicious so we decided to stop in to eat, best Small coffee shop and eatery ever. Wonderful service and mouth watering food. This is my new stop next time I come back!

Roger S.

Yelp
Great relaxing atmosphere - wonderful people - great coffee - great food. This was my first stop in the morning over the summer. A great way to start the day. I had a few lunches and they were always great. I love the local feel - and supporting local businesses. Highly recommended.

Gail J.

Yelp
Beware of the 1 hour parking limitation! You too can gets coffee and a $25 parking ticket if you linger over you lunch or drink. Shopping the 400 block can get very expensive if you are not very careful! I won't be back.

Mark H.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwiches in MT (and And the coffee is darn good as well. This is a great place to hang out on a sunny or rainy day, enjoyable atmosphere, fun Beatles decor, courteous staff, super owner and delicious food.

Joan S.

Yelp
Delicious (and inexpensive) breakfast and great organic coffee. Very friendly service. Feels like home!

Tom W.

Yelp
We love their Dave's Breakfast Burrito. They are struggling to stay in business now, but we have still had great service. This is one of Helena's great local meeting spots and the food is always good, not to mention great coffee.

Mark H.

Yelp
Best breakfast sandwiches in MT (and more). And the coffee is darn good as well. This is a great place to hang out on a sunny or rainy day, enjoyable atmosphere, fun Beatles decor, courteous staff, super owner and delicious food.

Emily D.

Yelp
We arrived at the coffee house for an early morning outing. We ended up having to wait 20 minutes for drip coffee that was majorly watered down.

Walter A.

Yelp
Worst thing I have ever paid for and put into my mouth. When I hear the microwave ding before my breakfast burrito is up, I know I'm in trouble. Canned tinny olives, microwaved eggs, processed cheese and generic brand food lion tortilla chips. I was thoroughly depressed after this one. I was on the road and had a long drive ahead...I didn't even bother to turn the radio on. I think I even called my father to say I love you. I began to reevaluate my life after this breakfast. Don't eat this stuff you'll enter a dark period. Great espresso though!

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Has anyone actually tried the breakfast burrito?Horrifying. It was definitely microwaved..not really my thing. The cheese tasted processed and it also had tinny tasting black olives. What?? Since when does a microwaved burrito with Tostitos salsa on it go with black olives? Gross. But the coffee was great!

Tyler A.

Yelp
I don't often write reviews, but want to spread the word about this place: Such a nice place to work, or to converse with friends and family. You'll find good coffee that they roast themselves, and fresh, high quality ingredients (local when possible, it seems). I had the Tuscany chicken sandwich for lunch (w/ delicious organic, never-frozen chicken) and conclude that they serve some of the best food around for a very fair price. I highly recommend paying Nord and his crew a visit!

Neva D.

Yelp
Very nice, comfortable, quaint, original, family-friendly place to go for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch. Personnel is phenomenal, very very friendly, and very efficient. Couldn't ask for more of a coffee place than what you get here at Fire Tower. They have a soup and sandwich for every taste bud. Whether you are from here or just passing through you don't want to miss out on this treat.

Helena W.

Yelp
Things I ordered: - iced coffee huckleberry - $2.50 - garden patch sour dough sandwich - $6.45 The coffee huckleberry was alright, a fun Montana twist. The sandwich was horribly bland. I was on a road trip and had been eating lots of junk food and in the efforts to eat something a bit healthier, I ordered the garden patch. Who knew it literally tasted like vegetables...and nothing more. Boo. The atmosphere is really cute though and pretty large. I wish I had a coffee shop designed like theirs where I live - very welcoming, yet large. Hours here don't apply (just like all of Montana). If there is doesn't look like a busy day, they close up early. I'm just glad they were open when we came though because there was nothing else opened on the street when we came through. Nice atmosphere, but what I ordered was nothing special.

Blaze O.

Yelp
A classic coffee house: relaxed atmosphere, various seating options, limited cafe menu, local flair, (art or music) and friendly staff who take a little pride in their service. I've sampled this experience from Seattle to San Francisco and love when businesses get the experience right. This place would do well with occasional local music and possible a long table for the occasional larger group. Otherwise they've nailed the recipe on the head.

Ben A.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, friendly staff. Cappuccino was so-so, orange caramel bun was delicious. Scrambled eggs were disappointing--very firm and taste as if they've been sitting in a tray too long. I'd look elsewhere to eat.
