Quality Hotel Grand Falun

Avoid this hotel at all costs. My room did not have a mattress, but rather a 2 inch foam pad (picture attached). The foam pad was also heavily soiled with bodily fluids (pics attached). The rest of the hotel was very dirty. ||The hotel is simply very run down and in desperate need of an overhaul. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. ||It is also the smallest hotel room I have been in, it was hard to walk around the bed without hitting the TV. I just wore the same outfit.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. |It was so cozy, so welcoming and the staff was great. Whoever decorated this hotel last is a genius. No overhead lighting, instead really well thought out placement of warm lighting to make it feel welcoming, warm and cozy. My room was small and I would’ve usually felt a bit claustrophobic in a room like that, but the way they have decorated this room instead felt like my little private luxurious sanctuary. |The breakfast buffet was top notch, great variety and quality of products, and presented really really well. I adore the space where breakfast is served, the murals are stunning and it has a really lovely courtyard feel. ||I will definitely book in again when I have an excuse to visit Falun next. And that time hopefully won’t be traveling on my own so I can take advantage of that great games lounge!

Inspect the room before you sleep in it! I got a room infested with bedbugs! (Room 287!) I had to throw my luggage away and seal all my clothes in bags. Overall, the cleanliness was very poor. I was told that management would contact me about this, but I’ve never heard from them since — no apology, no email, no compensation of any kind. Be careful!

The hotel has a bit of an old feel, and unfortunately, my room was quite cold as they don’t seem to heat it properly—I was freezing! Apart from that, the service was nice, the breakfast was great with a good variety, and the gym was well-equipped. If they could improve the heating, it would be a much better experience.

Dirty hotel. Especially the bed mattresses and linens. Bodily fluids visible. Felt uncomfortable using it and didn’t want to stay. Very worn down and dirty in hallways etc. Barely room to move in room. Beware if you are a person with a larger body or tall. Also beware if you have a disability/accessibility issue. It was hard to maneuver around one side to the other. Very small.

It's amazing to give such a good impression on me with an ongoing renovation. but I give First Hotel Falun 5 out of 5. Fantastic staff who gave me advice on more suitable room. Clean and Quiet just like I wanted. Access to coffee, tea and fruit at the reception. The breakfast which gets 10 out of 10 from me who is so difficult to flirt with. I have probably never tasted such good coffee as at this hotel, the dining room is like a museum with all the fantastic paintings from 1930, so many details that lift the whole experience of starting this day well.|renovation begins to be noticeable in terms of sound from 08:00.|Highly recommended, trust the staff, enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere.

We had a wonderful stay! The staffs are friendly and helpful specially the staff in the reception who made a big effort to arrange a surprise for my son's 6th bday. She managed to communicate to the breakfast staff (on a Sunday night) about our son's birthday and everyone has given an extra mile of service by fixing a reserved table decorated with balloons and a reserved sign with my son's name. He was really happy and it meant alot to us. |The food in their ala carte menu are highly recommended! Compliment to the chef! |The location was also good. Close to the center so it is easy to move around for a stroll.|Breakfast buffet has also good varieties.|And yes! An added bonus is we got to see the northern lights from our room!

very clean and puristic room, ie kept simple and equipped with just the necessities. comfy beds if you dont prefer to rest on a very hard matress. breakfast is continental with local delights. everytime we stay at this hotel we book only half board, because it would be a sin not to eat out and try the restaurants in close walking distance. if you are in for meat, you've come to the right place. hotel staff is very welcoming, friendly and happy to help. to sum it up, you'll have a nice stay for a moderate price.
