The name alone suggests a certain standard. Reality check: here, “quality” feels more like a marketing experiment than a promise.||From the outside, the hotel resembles a Cold War–era concrete block. Step inside, and the décor suddenly swings into a Moorish fantasy, complete with pillars and random artwork. If architecture is supposed to tell a story, this one reads more like a confused draft.||Even before checking in, the first impression wasn’t great. The basement parking garage greeted us with a vulgar, unpleasant smell of sevage — hardly the welcome one expects when arriving at a hotel.|After a long drive, we were simply hoping for a decent dinner. We were warmly greeted by two genuinely friendly waiters – but communication was a challenge. Both German and English proved tricky, and ordering turned into a mix of charades and guesswork. To their credit, once the food and wine arrived, it turned out to be surprisingly good – a small miracle given the surroundings.||The restaurant “ambience,” however, deserves its own review. Right by the entrance stood a foosball table, a popcorn machine, billiards, and other games. A group of very young guests had claimed the sofas, sprawled out with plastic bags full of beer, soda, and chips. The soundtrack to our dinner? Shouting, laughter, and the unmistakable vibe of a Friday night student dorm party.||Breakfast the next morning was the icing on the cake. At 8:30 a.m., the chaos from the night before was still untouched. Empty bottles, spilled popcorn, and crushed French fries littered the carpet on the way to the buffet. The selection was large, but the hot food was cold, and the cold food was lukewarm. Starting the day by navigating what felt like the aftermath of a nightclub did little for the appetite.||Bottom line: If you’re into brutalist nostalgia, Moorish kitsch, mime-ordering your dinner, and eating breakfast in what feels like the wreckage of a student rave – all topped off with a stinking basement garage – then this is the place for you. But if you’re expecting actual quality, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
