I recently visited First Hotel Grand in Odense and was very impressed. The hotel has charm with its historic architecture and elegant décor. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had a warm atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, making my stay a pleasant experience. The location is very convenient, right in the heart of Odense, close to major attractions like the Hans Christian Andersen Museum and various shops. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of fresh options. If you’re visiting Odense, I highly recommend this hotel

Definitely a classy hotel, with a scent of England and floating memories of the Victorian Area. I loved the antiques, bearing witness to the love and passion of the craftsman, the paintings in the walls, the light, romantic and erotic at the same time. It was like I was in a fairy tale! Located downtown, in walking distance to the city center.

I've stayed at this hotel several times, and I come back deliberately. I love the charming, old world style of the exterior and lobby. The rooms are nice, fairly large and very functional. The breakfast buffet is terrific and included. The staff is first-rate, very friendly and supportive of any need. The fitness room is fairly strong, but it would be nice to see some newer equipment.

I recently stayed at First Hotel Grand and have mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the dining was truly exceptional—delicious food with attentive service. The hotel lobby was also a standout, offering a warm and welcoming ambiance that gave the impression of a high-standard establishment. Unfortunately, the quality significantly dropped when I entered the most important part of any hotel stay—the room. For a hotel with a 4-star rating and such a reputable name, I expected better. The shower head was moldy and leaking, which was both unpleasant and unacceptable. The curtain in the room emitted an unpleasant smell, making the space feel old, neglected, and forgotten. If the intention was to create a vintage or aged theme, it should at least have been maintained and cleaned to a reasonable standard. There were no drinking amenities in the room, such as a kettle or coffee maker, which would have been a basic expectation for a hotel of this level. However, the views in the morning were a redeeming feature—the sunrise was absolutely breathtaking and provided a moment of peace amidst the disappointments. Overall, the hotel has potential, but the state of the rooms needs serious improvement to match the quality of the public spaces and dining experience. Until then, I’d hesitate to recommend it fully.

Stayed at this hotel several times over the years. Centrally located for the town and 5 minute walk from the main train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. Rooms can vary in standard depending on which one allocated. Our room on the first floor lacked any storage space (drawers) and the water pressure in the sink was low. That said it is a fine hotel and worth a stay if you intend to visit Odense.

The hotel has been thoughtfully decorated, and there’s even a massage chair in the gym for relaxation. The breakfast is amazing, with high-quality butter, and the bartender at the hotel bar is really skilled—the drinks are fantastic! The only downside was one morning around 8 a.m., when housekeeping knocked to ask if we needed our room cleaned. My husband and I were still sleeping, so we didn’t hear her. She then entered with a key card and, seeing us still asleep, asked if we needed cleaning. It was honestly quite shocking

I recently stayed First Hotel Grand and was extremely disappointed with the level of cleanliness. From the moment I entered my room, it was clear that it had not been properly cleaned. The floors were dirty, the bathroom had not been sanitized, and there were visible stains on the glasswall in the bathroom. Dust on lamps and stains. Despite bringing this to the attention of the hotel staff, no action was taken to address the issues. This was particularly frustrating as I had experienced the same problem during a stay in April, and it seems nothing has improved since then. The lack of response and the overall state of the room made my stay very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and pleasant stay. Only plus is the nice reception staff, the breakfast and the location.
