First Hotel Statt

This hotel has 4* on booking.com. While it is true that this hotel doesnt show 4* anywhere on location, meaning it probably doesn’t have them it is atill deceiving that there are 4* on booking. The fact that this is very old hotel i am fine with, but this is not at all maintained. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor. The entire hallway on the 3rd floor smells like old heavy dust, the walls look like they haven’t seen freah paint in decades. The room (338) had an insane amount of spiders, spider webs. The remote control from the very old model tv was missing, the bathroom was smelling funny, the walls were dirty, the windows were dirty, the bedsheet had holes in it, the bathroom door was dusty, the curtains were dusty, the bed was old and uncomfortable, there was dust on the bed frame, i haven’t seen a shower head so old in 30 years. I took pictures ( can provide upon request). The room wasnt cleaned and the trash was not taken out between the days. There is no coffee machine or phone or fridge in the room as u would expect at 4* or thon/first hotel places. Staff was nice, breakfast ok. But this kind of hotel i never want to experince again. Had booked 3 nights but left after 2.

A very cool and beautiful hotel in the centre. So much history and interesting details. Great breakfast, big rooms and comfy beds.

Close to unacceptable. If I weren’t here on a business trip, I’d have never stayed at this hotel. I’ll be suggesting it’s removed from our company’s approved hotel list in future. The room was dated, dirty, and smelled musty. Furniture was very, very old and there were stains and hairs in the bed. Shower is the poorest I’ve ever seen in Europe. I’ve included photos. Stay elsewhere.

The hotel needs a renovation. The breakfast is cheep and poor…||A nightclub next door kept us awake untill 4 am.

An emblematic and historic hotel full of information and historical events, rooms and details of the era, located in the center of the city, on the boulevard, surrounded by emblematic and historical sites. A hotel set in the period, nothing technological, but it has an elevator, good televisions, fire system, Wi-Fi. The staff service is spectacular, EVERYONE, polite, attentive, very willing. The food, as good as the service, very good alternatives, very well distributed, good selection of tea, very good coffee, the taste of the food is good, healthy, clean, neat, tidy, large historic rooms to enjoy the food of the setting and the view. If you need to make alternative purchases, they have everything a few meters from the main (automatic) door. Little close to the train station.

Hotel is old and smells old, but otherwise clean. Room was warm and did smell bad. Very kind staff. Breakfast was good.

This hotel not only allow dogs but also treat them like human guests The room came with a doggy bed (huge!), food and water bowls. I have read the bad review but our room wasn't anything like he described. It was renovated and fresh. Sure, the hotel is in a old building and it feels outdated. But I felt like it was as good as it gets for the price and location (right in the center of the city!) They don't have their own parking. You can either park at Åhléns parking for 80kr overnight (it closed at 21:30 but the hotel has the key if you need to go get something in your car), or on the street by the main square "Stora torget" for 13kr per hour (Between 16:00 and 9:00 next day is free of charge). We parked on the street and it ended up being cheaper.

I had room 334, top floor. Negatives: - Black stains in shower at cemented seams, also but floor seams (mold) - Yellow/orange bacterias on shower muzzle and holder - One toilet roll to spare, and one half used on holder (not very fresh..) - Hazardous old hair dryer, 70´s-ish brown-ish and rest of bathroom looks kind of fresh and new.. why save 30€ on that I ask myself.. - Broken chair(wooden) back is broke and loose - Not functioning power outlet to the right of desk - Rotten window frame (the right) so one window (6 in 1) almost falls out - Mold on window sill - Unwashed blanket (smells a little old) - Business discount price: 1150 SEK (about € 115) - When I chose not to book at my companies "covenant": 790 SEK (about € 79) Not very fresh/healthy to sleep in moldy room.. Positive: - OK breakfast - Soft bed - Nice and cozy pillow and duvet - Nice employees - Free wifi - Recommended parking (free on town square after 16:00 and on sunday) and closed parking (fee 0-24) - Cozy room, top floor secluded feeling - Fresh lobby, with coffee
