First Hotel Witt

You have to please update your toilets and showers, it was awful to stand in the minishowers with the plasticcurtains sticking to your leg. The breakfast was good, little full tho. The hotel itself was nice, the swimming are and gym really small but okay for just having some workout. Good location but not worth the money. Not even a bathrobe or slippers to go to the swimming downstairs in the cellar.

I didn't think hotels existed in Sweden 2024 that doesn't have air-conditioning. Wow you must truly like heat and lousy service to enjoy your stay here. The breakfast was horrible as it was served in some huge conference room and not the dining hall they show you in their pictures. Other than their great location, this hotel has very little going for them. I would much much rather pay a little extra for another hotel in the area for my next stay in the city.

Very central hotel and friendly staff. There is a little gym with a tiny pool and a sauna. You can have access to a proper gym nearby if needed through a deal that the hotel has. My room was pretty outdated, especially the bathroom. No toiletry kit was surprising, there's only one bottle of combined shower gel / shampoo. It was also very hot at night in the room, which made it difficult to sleep (there was a tiny portable fan available). There is coffee / tea and some small biscuits available in the lobby but not in the room, however the room's tiny fridge had two small bottles of sparkling water as a courtesy. I wish there was an iron in the room. Bedding was fine and the breakfast was just ok but far from being spectacular.

No airconditioning. If it's hot outside, it's warm inside. No blinds available to mitigate the room heating up. Want to sleep in the dark? Or sleep during the day? Little of that, the blackout curtains are only half decent and let in a clear line of sunlight at the edges that -will- bother, and only juuust overlap. Not a pull down window blocking curtain in sight. Location is excellent, service is great, breakfast is pretty okay.

These were hands down the most comfortable beds and pillows we've experienced on this trip to Europe, and the trip included stays at six Hiltons and several other Hilton properties. Breakfast at FH Witt is also slightly better than at some/most Euro Hiltons. Not way better, good variety but exceptional quality. Room service was amazing. Dozens of good-quality restaurants within 5 blocks. Parking is extremely easy, we parked right in front of the entrance for a few euros every evening. Drawbacks: No air conditioning, room gets hot even with windows open when it's 23 °C outside. Shower spews water everywhere in the bathroom. Towels are small and few. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner within the hotel, although they'll gladly pour you a beer or several. In all, lacking a Hilton property in Kalmar, this is as close as it gets with the only material downgrade being lack of air conditioning! Airline crews flying into/out of KLR stay here. So... it's good.

Excellent hotel and hospitaly. Very welcoming staff, great food and lovely Swedish atmosphere !

Reception: Lousy & unprofessional. Lobby/reception could use some work. Room/atmosphere: Rooms are very outdated and very little character. The atmosphere is very dull at the hotel. I had a standard double room (was upgraded, still). Checked in late, and checked out early, so didn’t see the breakfast albeit when I asked for a bag, I receieved a small one to go. Has two sandwhiches, two eggs, a yogurt and a juice. When asking for another she declined and said “that’s all you get sir”. For the price and circumstance I wish they would be more hospitable. Didn’t seem very well trained. Thankful regardless and wishing and hoping the day goes great for them. Location: Local, very close to central station which is a bonus. Recap: Thankful for some warmth for the night albeit I do recommend saving your money and spending it elsewhere. Not my favorite. 2/5 stars.

The hotel is not a new building and the interior is not brand new either. The hotel is sufficiently equipped for a pleasant stay, and the breakfast offer is rich. Only the coffee from the vending machine at the breakfast buffet is barely drinkable. The sauna and swimming pool are small but well-maintained and perfectly adequate for the size of the hotel. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I stayed two nights and was very pleased.
