This place is intimate and cozy with a small menu but everything on it looks amazing. I love how there are so many items to take to go. I've been here once but I'm excited to come back again soon!!

The slices of apple, cherry and strawberry- rhubarb and key lime pie are very generous and delicious. We also tried the meat lasagna and it was incredible, and very filling. It was worth the drive early evening for dinner and after dinner dessert with some tea! I highly recommend this place (just park a few blocks away and walk because non paid parking was a difficult).

I get the pre made family meals from this place. They blow any other meal service out of the water on quality of ingredients and taste. More expensive than HelloFresh and those other companies but 1000x tastier and you’re supporting small business!

Really cute place in my neck of the woods. Tried the buffalo chicken wrap and it was very flavorful and super delicious! Looking forward to returning and trying some of their coffee and other items from the menu!

So I've never been to the physical location but my friends had their pies at a party and ever since I can't stop ordering from First Slice. I'm obsessed with their sandwiches! They have the BEST combo. Sandwich + salad + chips & I always add a slice of pie too. My favorite pie is key lime I think but I've tried a hand full of theirs and they are all delicious. They have a really unique yummy balsamic pear pie. Their apple and cherry pies are phenomenal too. Looking forward to trying more things on the menu. Oh and my daughter loves their Mac and cheese. I have long loved this place for the pies, lunch options, and dinner packages. This week they catered a party and it could not have been better. My favorites were the gluten-free empanadas, tamales, and stuffed mushrooms. Everything was ready and hot exactly on time, the guests loved it all, and ordering was a breeze.

The French silk pie is the bomb. Also the Cuban sandwich is so zesty and tasty!!! Loved them both. Sorry, I ate the Cuban before getting a good picture!

Absolutely amazing pie!!! Freshly baked and delicious. Tea and coffee is good and sandwiched or a pick me up is a great spot! Staff is amazing, friendly, welcoming and always a beautiful smile when you walk in! If you are an out of towner and want some new come here it's the spot! It is vegetarian, gluten free, and some trace tree nut friendly.

We are now obsessed with first slice! We have been meaning to go here for years and somehow everything we are available to go they are closed. We finally found an opportunity after five years and holy crap it's delicious! We started off with fresh lemonades and slices of pie. The winner of the pie is always the peanut butter slice. My husband ordered a sandwich with ham and cheese with a side of chips while mine was a delicious turkey and avocado with a side salad. Guys, this place is so good. Such quick service, nice local feel, and great ambiance. We will be coming back and making an effort to learn their hours and go when they are open.

I love first slice! This was my first time going to this location. It's a bit small and we happen to be there on a super busy day, so we took our food to eat in the park across the street instead of eating inside. I ordered the goat cheese and poached pear sandwich. They really stuffed it with a variety of vegetables! It was amazing! So many places don't know how to do a good veggie sandwich but this place has it down. It had cauliflower, onions, mushrooms, pear, goat cheese, spinach - so many flavors and textures! I also got a slice of the peanut butter and chocolate pie (the last slice!). The pie here is so good it's impossible to not get a piece, and they have so many different kinds to choose from! Even though they were slammed, the food came out pretty quick. And I appreciated that they had free water on a hot day!

My employer also enlisted First Slice for our Thanksgiving Pie Give Away. They have a large variety of pies to choose from. In addition to the traditional pies, they also create some unique ones. The s'more and chocolate peanut butter pies looked divine. The rep was helpful and patient with our orders. Pies were delivered on time for the give away. I'd definitely recommend First Slice to my family, friends and companies looking to cater.

So, I've been going through a tough time recently, and yesterday thus expressed itself as "Heck it, spend way too much money on delivery. Yes, order 5 slices of pie." Ma'am, that was the best decision of my life. I ordered: French silk, coffee toffee, Michigan sour cherry, blueberry cheesecake, and key lime. I started with the key lime...I took my first bite and I had to lie down to process what was happening inside my mouth. And I'll admit that I was skeptical! Because I'm a key lime pie purist, and First Slice has a layer of cream on top. But it's AMAZING. Like....really. Next was coffee toffee. Nice, heavy coffee flavor. Delicious. I just now finished devouring the blueberry cheesecake, which might be my favorite thing in the entire world. Gearing up for the last two, which I have no doubt will make me weep. OMG just give them your money and thank me later.

I just had to walk out of this place minutes ago. They 100% don't want customers and will actively try not to serve you. It's currently 5:48pm and went in to pick up a couple pizzas and a polka dot cheesecake for my kids. Even though they publicly say they close at 7pm, the attendant told me they close at 6 and can't serve me. To my surprise, I said I thought you closed at 7, and also it's only 5:45 right now. He said they can't serve me the pizza because it's past 5:45pm. I'm completely surprised because it's clear they just don't want to work and would rather leave early than make a sale. I hope the owner realizes what's happening and either trains the staff or makes some changes. Otherwise vacate the location and let a business take that spot that cares about customers.

What maniac decided mustard and pickle relish should be on a spinach, mushroom, and cheese sandwich? Because that sort of crazy thinking deserves an award. It's freaking delicious. The polka dot cheesecake is a real treat, as is every pie I've had there. I really appreciate what they do for the community to address food insecurity and was shocked to see that, while I've told everyone I know about them and sung their praises, I have failed to write a yelp review! But I've talked myself into walking down to get dinner, so let's call it even?

I had a much better experience here than my visit to the Ashland location of First Slice. First of all, First Slice in general, has a great cause. They help feed folks in need and help employ those who are in a halfway situation. The food is wonderful. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. It is located conveniently right off the Rockwell Brown Line stop. I enjoyed the French Silk and the Peanut Butter pie. They had been properly dethawed which was not the case at the other location of First Slice. This will definitely be one of my favorite cold day hangouts. I really love the fun wallpaper. The floor also has a lot of character. My only wish is that they had some more seating space for singles or couples. However, I know resources and space is limited.

A neighborhood gem. Their iced coffee is delicious and so is their hot chocolate and their blueberry scones. They are a pie joint, so I'm looking forward to trying my first slice next time. The environment is cozy, colorful, and I really enjoy how natural light radiates throughout the joint. There are a few tables, but seating has never been an issue for me. During the warm months, they also have outdoor seating. Also service is always friendly!

This is a place that really cares about the community. They do a lot of outreach to help feed families who are underserved. Plus, the pies here are delicious. My favorite is the key lime and Michigan sour Cherry. I love pizza Friday's where you can get an entire personal sized pizza for $6-$7! They're delicious! I will say as a word of advice; try to call ahead of time as it is a made to order pizza made fresh so it takes about 25 minutes to make. And for those complaining about the hours (They have the hours posted on the door out front, gues s some people are just too lazy to read) Businesses are sometimes slow to update their websites, so it's always a good idea to check the hours posted out front and not take it out on the employees :)

We love First Slice! They're so involved in the local community and it's amazing to be able to walk a few blocks to get some pie slices in the morning or afternoon. Deeply recommend the Coffee Toffee, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Key Lime pies!

Nice location by the train station attracted me to stop by and try their food. Super welcoming hosts, but I was unpleasantly surprised by the amount of plastic waste generated by each order. No matter if your dine in or take out they give you a box to go with plastic forks, plastic containers for dressing Quite disappointed and likely won't go back

Fabulous pie coupled with a mission to feed the homeless?! Now that's a business I'm happy to support. After meaning to sample the pies for years, I finally stopped in this afternoon for a sweet treat with the fam. The kids chose a piece of the chocolate strawberry cream pie and finished every last morsel. The hubs opted for the French silk and it was pretty darn perfect. I went with a lemon poppyseed biscotti and a hazelnut latte. The biscotti was tasty but the pies are definitely the stars of the shop. The latte was just lukewarm which was a bit of a bummer, but the strangest thing was that the coffee cup sleeve smelled very strongly of perfume. Hmm...In any case, I'd be happy to return to indulge my sweet tooth once again and sample a couple of savory menu items as well. Oh, and one last tip: Bring your own cup and save $.50 off your coffee!

This is a nice little neighborhood gem near my apartment in Albany Park. I have been here a few times and usually have the quiche, which is simply awesome. Filling but not too heavy. The iced coffee is very good (I usually drink iced latte), and I wouldn't hesitate to order one of those again, especially in these warmer months. Last time I was there, I ordered the mac and cheese with lobster. VERY good. Lots of flavor and not super heavy, which isn't great when it's in the 90's outside. Overall, this is a great neighborhood spot. I'm glad I live nearby.

Delicious quiche and pie! The mini quiche is great for four people, and the chocolate peanut butter pie was very rich and almost like eating fudge. And wonderful customer service. A neighborhood gem!

However, no matter what she does for living by day, she will always be a Chicago foodie. This morning I took a walk, with hubby, to the east end of Albany Park on Manor Ave. by CTA Francisco Brown Line station. I've been a resident of Albany Park for two (2) years and have never visited "First Slice." First Slice is a cafe that serves classic western-style quick bites for breakfast and lunch, quality-brew coffee, and of course, gourmet pies. I've been to many cafes in Chicago that are more hipsters-friendly or catered to workers who would only hang out with their PC or Mac. "First Slice" is totally welcoming for the entire family. In fact, I saw many little neighborhood kids patronizing. One (1) of the sweet boys, surprisingly, picked out a bottle of grapefruit juice and helped mama with the door. What a gentleman at such tender age! And he's going to be a foodie in the next generation since he knows his "fruit." Ok, look forward to seeing you at the Yelp Elite event in the year of...2035 (when I turn 50)! Anyways, sorry for digressing. I now have to talk about the Mediterranean quiche and the Chicago veggie sandwich we ordered. The young lady was very personable and helpful for suggesting items on the menu, since their menu was pretty extensive. All the ingredients they used were very fresh. They quiche was seasoned nicely; it had a good texture and wasn't "crusty" because it was made-to-order. On the other hand, the choice of cheese for their Chicago veggie sandwich was brilliant! They used the medium-aged cheddar, which complemented the spinach and onion very well. I almost wanted to order another kind of sandwich, but I knew I would have a plenty of opportunities since I live nearby and I enjoy taking a walk meandering "MY" neighborhood. There was one that would tickle your fancy: "Duck & Mozzarella" sandwich! What would that taste like? I hope it would taste "crack-lissimo." Well, if that wasn't funny, I apologized for trying too hard. Unfortunately, I no longer take the brown line to commute to work. Otherwise, I would pop in here more frequently. I'm not a huge "pie" person, but they complete my equation with other items that are wholesome and healthy. Overall, "First Slice" has left me a great first impression, so I will be back when I can.

There French silk pie is amazing . I went to see their selection and have little expectations because I'm picky when it comes to pie. However, I decided to try their French silk and it was so delicious. I had to go the second day to buy another slice because one slice was simply not enough.

Great hidden gem! You'd miss it if you're just driving through the neighborhood (which I did!) This is a great lunch spot! I went on a Friday at 11am with a friend. She got an iced coffee, I ordered an Americano and a slice of Mediterranean quiche (served with a side salad). FIRST BITE- SCRUMPTIOUS!!! It's very fresh and included goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. Sooooo good! I will definitely come again! Oh yes, and my Americano was delicious. The place got busier as we ate, but wasn't crazy packed. I hope to return and eat some of the delicious pies and sweet treats they offer! Because I love to bake, I almost always skip on desserts anywhere outside my home, but some of their goodies caught my eye!

I went in today in honor of Pi day. They had their pie slices-buy one get one 1/2 off. I was beyond excited! I grabbed 2 cause I'm working 2nd shift today and gluttony. I just needed pie. I have the chocolate peanut butter pie and the traditional apple pie. I tasted the chocolate peanut butter pie. It was so creamy and good! I'm at my work desk just enjoying the deliciousness! Since it's on the route to my job, I'm definitely going back. Update: I went back for French Silk Pie. I have a problem!

Cute little place, clean environment, small but not crowded. Coffee is solid and reasonably priced. Hot chocolate is good. The only gluten-free baked good is a peanut-butter cookie. which is just okay (doesn't hold together well- eat it with a fork). Nice addition to the neighborhood, and perfectly located for commuters. Fair warning: the CTA brown line rumbles by, and creates a bit of noise. It can also get pretty stuffy inside in the summer. There is outdoor seating, though. There is a bathroom in back, through the kitchen.

Some of the best pie I've ever had. We get their pies for every celebration. My favorite is the Apple die, but their Michigan Sour Cherry is amazing too.

Just wonderful! I mean really tasty! Delicious! We needed quick easy take out food, and I knew they also stocked cream top whole un-homogenized milk, which is my milk jam for sure! Two birds with one stone, milk we need and food we want. Three small pies happened; apple - really really good, strawberry rhubarb - even better, and balsamic raspberry pear - this one is by far my fave, not too sweet, all sorts of deep lush decadent raspberry flavor, the consistency makes me smile just thinking of it, I feel like I could just sit and eat a whole one of these (big one) and call that dinner, it's got to be good for me right, all that fruit? We also did a couple triple combo 70's salads and they were all good, figured, we might not like one, and figured do a tour of the 70's salad play list, and they were all good, but I really liked the tuna and chicken cucumber best! Last but not least, a heat in our own oven, Mac and Cheese, it's pretty much my fave simple home style no added meat or gimmick Mac N Cheese ever! Now I am super curious to check out the subscription program which also is for a cause, feeding Chicago's hungry, I'm all about that, especially while eating such delicious, wonderful, tasty, sustenance! Have a slice, you will be glad you did!

Pie-O-My! The Food. Slice Ravenswood Manor ("Albany Park") specializes in slices of pies which rotate based on date and which location (there are multiple locations). Fruit Pies Like Michigan sour cherry, strawberry, blueberry, apple, peach, a mixture of fruits, etc ; or unusual pies like Balsamic Raspberry Pear Pie, Red Wine Poached Pear Streusel; traditional like pecan; cheesecake based like plain, or with fruits, or seasonal flavors like pumpkin. It's a pie place. Soups lean towards "Hearty Soups" with roasted flavors, whole grains, or chili. There are standard and special soups. Food leans towards a touch of something savory or with a twist like goat cheese. There are Community plates which setup multiple items for sharing. There are deli salads to create a duo or trio sampling. Many items have an organic label. Some maybe sourced locally. I tried the roasted veggie sandwich with two sides for $10. It was savory. I added hot sauce to kick it up. The bread was fresh. A suggestion would be to chop the veggies a bit so they don't 'string out' on each bite. Loose Leaf teas are available for tea lovers, presented in a pot. Customers can ask for hot water refills anytime. The Scene The customers on my visit were local, quiet, and some regulars plus a few newbies. There is small playlot nearby which attracts a few parents going to and from. Most customers seem to order and be on their way immediately or after a short visit during my weekday midday visit. The Service On my visit, the front counter was super uber mix of friendly, local, and straight shooter anticipating needs and asking question, plus providing some direction to people on what to try with a curious mind, and where to find stuff in the cafe (Annette). Annette is mentioned in several other reviews and she might be 'not so secret' asset to differentiate this shop's service 'authentic not corporate' feel. The counter can be busy, so you might wait a minute while they provide service to each customer and manage the shop. The Facilities. The cafe is small with 4 tables inside, two of them are community. Outside it's three tables. The cafe had soft indie pop music on my visit. Next to the cafe is the Brown Line, and it has a slow muffled rumble. WiFi is free. The Restroom is in the kitchen, and is Employee grade with a cleaning closet mixed in. recommended for those looking for a local small cafe, local service, local twist on the cafe menu especially if you like to try some locally sourced pie. Give it a try!

Best pies in town! First time customer and definitely a returning customer. We ordered Chocolate Cream and the Coffee Toffee. I cannot get over the freshness of the pie. Staff is friendly. Great pie selection and beverage selection too. I would love to try the Peanut Butter Pie, but it constantly gets sold out.

Live down the street and eat here at least once a week. I think I've tried everything on the menu and liked it all. Last night I had the Cuban Sandwich, found it better than most Cuban restaurants. Staff is always super nice and friendly to boot!

This cafe made my day!!!:) It was raining really hard this morning and I was soaking wet walking toward the Brown Line. I still had a good 20 minutes before I had to board the train so I decided to walk into this little cafe. Let me tell you, when I walked in I was greeted by a wonderful woman. Her name is Annette. She was very personable and I felt so welcomed there! I loved the atmosphere so much that I even asked my friend Anna to meet me there for lunch. We loved the food and Annette even made me a drink which isn't even on the menu. Even though it was my first time coming there, I felt extremely welcomed there!!!! Thank you so much Annette and First Slice Cafe.

I've always loved this place, but due to the pandemic I've been popping in for takeout stuff more than usual. Oh my gosh, anyone who knows this place already knows the quiches and pies are magnificent... But the lobster mac & cheese? Perfectly rich without being overwhelming. The vegetable pot pie? When is the last time you had a vegetable pot pie that changed your entire vision of pot pies? The crust, the sauce, the veggies, the sage vibe... Just beautifully balanced. Tonight is Amish chicken soup, also from them, and we'll be fighting over the last bit of pot pie. Oh, and this stuff is all in the refrigerated section so you can grab it, put it in your own bag, and feel all safe and untouched. I mean you do have to pay but they've got hand sanitizer. Bring a Clorox wipe for your card and you should be fine.

Very cute cafe! The design decor was so nice, too. I couldn't stop staring at their pie selections. I didn't get pie, but I got a white peach tea. It was perfect for the nice warm days that Chicago has been having lately. I'd totally go back since it's right off the brown line.

We ordered takeout lunch from here on the way back from the park, and the salad and sandwiches were great! Very nice service too. We would definitely order again.

My favorite place in Ravenswood Manor. Homey, neighborhood spot for a cup of coffee and slice of pie, or an omelette on the weekend. Every staff member I've interacted with has been extremely nice. The location is great too, it's nice to hear the train go by.

This place is great! First of all they did the pies for my wedding years ago, and had plenty of options for everyone. They were a huge hit! Then, this week, I had a Pie Emergency, and Callie went above and beyond for my delicious Michigan cherry pie. Cheers to this Chicago mainstay!

Beautiful spot, spot on service and taste! I drive past on a daily basis and for a decade or more I haven't had the chance to make it in. I finally pulled myself in and had the chance to try it. I had the Mediterranean Quiche, perfect flavors, texture and healthiness I was looking for. Their coffee was spot on! Perfect balance with the Michigan cherry pie! I'll be back, count on it!! I'll definitely be back for a whole cake or two!

yum apple pie... i like this location so much better than the one on ashland but i couldn't tell you why. the food just tastes that much better i guess? friendly service - i wish i could've stayed and chatted some more. right up against the francisco brown line - can't miss it. tried the pear balsamic pie and the vegan carrot cake (very raisin and coconut heavy - 2 ingredients that aren't my fave - so i was not a fan). would get the pear pie again but the traditional apple is where it's at.

Beagle found this place with his little puppy nose and brought us here. No, really... I have pictures to prove it! Some weekend mornings, I am too burnt out to cook. On those days my handsome Boyfriend will suggest a walk and a coffee. Here, our Beagle wanted pie, or maybe quiche, or maybe baked treats... They were all good but what I really, really adored was the duck and mozzarella sandwich- delicious, wonderful textures and I seriously debated getting another. Yes, two sandwiches, all for me. Shut up, it was that delectable. I got a slice of pie and shared it with Boyfriend and Beagle. Boyfriend had the mediterranean quiche with salad and there were no leftovers- which means it was scrumptious. The guy at the counter was cute and sweet- which I appreciate tremendously. Coffee was decent and the outside benches in the sun are wonderful on a bright Spring morning. We will be back. You can't beat the cause- feeding the hungry!

Iced Coffee and Cashew Snickerdoodle Cookie are my go to for a quick breakfast. They serve Colectivo Coffee. Service is amazing! Very convenient location next to the Francisco Brown Line station.

This cafe is right off the brown line Francisco stop and I heard they have good pie. Well let me tell you everything on the menu is likely delicious. We had the broccoli and cheese quiche and two slices of pie: sour cherry and raspberry balsamic. Everything was really good! This place is definitely a known cafe in the neighborhood and has friendly vibes. I will be back to try more pie.

Love the community model, love the food. It can be a little loud so near the train, but otherwise a really pleasant place to get some coffee and treats and do a little writing or socializing. Also the pie... SO. GOOD. Favorite = Coffee Toffee. But seasonal favorite = strawberry rhubarb. Although the Tabasco Cream pie is also good... PIE!

The First Slice Pie Café on Manor, near the Francisco Brown Line el stop, is an additional location, that joins the one at the Montrose Brown Line el stop. Like, the latter store, the Manor location is part of the non-profit organization that supports food donation and distribution. The web site is worthy of reading. However, you won't find a menu there. The site is all business, the First Slice Pie's business of serving the community. The café has good coffee. It offers some baked goods, and, apparently, it has a pizza night (?). This is the type of space that is ideal for a book club get-together, or for working on your iPad or tablet. There are several tables outdoors. The effect of the patio area is lovely, but the ambiance is marred somewhat by the surprisingly noisy traffic on the street outside. It is not busy, just noisy. The First Slice Pie Café is a great addition to the neighborhood. I plan to visit it more often now that summer is on the horizon.

We didn't taste the pies but we had a good latte! This coffee shop is just next to the metro station, it's located in a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. It's a nice place with a good vibe and it has a cozy decor. I loved the wooden tables. It was packed with people having lunch.
