My wife and I rented a kayak from First Stop Board Barn. We were a bit apprehensive at first as this was our first time kayaking. Max walked us through the entire process and our experience couldn't have been better!! He went the extra mile and helped us out in many ways. We greatly appreciate it. Definitely a five star experience!!

Don’t understand why this store has a review of 4.9. Went there Sunday for rentals. The staffs’ attitudes are very bad. And on their website they say they have several options for intermediate ski rentals. But when I went there, they only have one type of Nordica ski. You don’t get to choose. The intermediate package has no difference to the beginner one. And their skis for advanced package are also very limited. I couldn’t even find a ski for my height. So whatever package you choose, they are gonna give you what fits you and you won’t be able to choose. And sometimes, you might not even be able to find a boot or ski that fits you.

An excellent shop that is clearly committed to providing its customers with the best experience possible. We had custom boots done and Bill worked tirelessly to make sure we were completely satisfied with the fit. The best ski shop experience I have ever had.

I had an outstanding experience getting heat molded boots here. When I came back in after wearing them for a few days skiing, they were great at making fine tuned adjustments. I demoed a pair of skis and bought those as well. Super knowledgeable staff and super friendly

I bought a pair of Alpine touring boots here last spring and didn’t have the chance to get them heat molded so I stopped in on a weekday. Bill generously heat molded my boots plus another set of boots that I had purchased elsewhere but was having trouble with. He helped me get proper inserts for both pairs of my boots, ensuring a comfortable fit and best possible performance. It is clear first stop takes an individual approach to each of their customers and is dedicated to helping customers find the right item at the right price that will last a long time. Everyone here puts in time and care to make sure the customer is happy and has the best possible year for their needs. I’m so glad I stopped in last year!! I will be giving them my business as frequently as I can going forward!

Randy and Max went above and beyond to completely transform my skiing experience. I’ve struggled for years with finding ski boots that fit properly due to my larger calves, and I was always in pain after just a short time on the slopes. After visiting over 10+ ski shops, I was starting to think a comfortable fit wasn’t possible—until I came here. They took the time to understand my needs and helped me find the perfect pair of boots. They’re so knowledgeable and experienced, and it really shows. They even fitted me with custom insoles, which made the boots even more comfortable. For the first time ever, I was able to ski all day with absolutely no pain! If you’re looking for expert boot fitters who truly care about making your experience as enjoyable as possible, this is the place to go. Thanks to them I’m finally excited to hit the slopes without worrying about discomfort.

Best of the best. We’ve been customers since we came to New England. They go above and beyond expectations to show and try several brand of ski boots and then take meticulous care to ensure the fitting and wear are optimum for both, comfort and performance. Most of my family has bought from them. The owner Will, is a gem of a person and his recommendations are spot on. And as well, Randy and Max have professional knowledge and practice in boot fitting. I can say that I will likely use them for all my boot needs as long as I ski.

I went to them to change my handle bar tape for my next cycling trip. My other one was starting to fall apart after 6,000 miles (across the US and down from Alaska to Seattle, all types of weather conditions). I barely rode 400 miles and this new tape is unraveling. I felt like I was dismissed when I emphasized I needed long lasting quality, and this shows that I was. I can't imagine what is the quality of more important bicycle fixes.
