Great breakfast place

Austin, TX

Google
Fantastic brunch spot with great healthy options and excellent service! I had the oatmeal with fresh berries, which was hearty and delicious, along with the Morning Meditation juice—vibrant, refreshing, and packed with flavor. The lime cupcake was a delightful treat to top it all off. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely a great place for a balanced and tasty meal. Highly recommend!

We were going to leave Austin earlier but decided to have brunch with my daughter and son-in-law. She has been to First Watch before and knew how good the food was to eat. Being that I like to try new restaurants, I knew it would be a good opportunity to try it out. I had heard from my other daughter that it was really good as well. They got pancakes, I had an omelet, and my wife had a bowl. The food was excellent, and if I'm ever near another First Watch, I will definitely stop there to eat.

Google
Nice place for breakfast and brunch. The choice is various and delicious. We ordered omelets made by fresh eggs for our first meal in Austin . We think we pick up right place to start trip in Austin . Recommend this place .

Google
Eli was the absolute best! My sister and I didn’t know what to order, so he gave us pointers and helped me find something I’ll definitely be back for (get the SoCal hash while you can!!!). Overall 10/10 service + food + atmosphere. P.S. drinks pictured are the honey caramel crunch and mint mocha

I have been here quite often in the last few months. Good coffee, seasonal menu, great food and very good service. Prices are really good for the food and service.

Google
Invited to try this place in Austin that I have never heard of. First Watch! They were not kidding, this place is great! Started off with the Millionaire Bloody Mary which got the wheels turning! For breakfast, I had a wonderful Avocado Toast. Quite filling too! Our server, Michal, did a great job and I was totally impressed by everything here! Definitely will come back!

On a not-too-busy Friday morning, the wait time was not long to be sat for a group of 5. Once sat, it took maybe 10 minutes before our server came to take our drink order. By this time the table was ready to order food as well. The drinks, mostly waters, came out with the food. I ordered over easy eggs because I find that most restaurants give you uncooked egg whites when you order sunny side up. Pictured is my pool of yolk with uncooked egg whites. The server initially dropped the water when coming to the table, which is fine, accidents happen. But the service other than that was pretty non-existent. Usually the wait staff revisit the table to see if everything came out alright but we had to flag someone down to ask for additional items. They did come back and ask if we wanted anything else at the end of the meal, but with how long it took to get anything back, it would probably be another 30 minute wait in a half filled restaurant.

Yelp
Shelby was patient and thoughtful. The food came out lightning fast and tasted good. Only downside were inconsiderate parents who allow their child make a mess with no effort of helping clean it up. Shelby should not have to clean up all the food thrown everywhere?! Didn't see those parents provide extra gratuity either.. smh! In the future, I will ask to be seated furthest away from the circus acts.

Yelp
I would place this restaurant at about the same level as Applebee's. Food is generically inoffensive and fine without ever rising to the level of good. The service was excellent right up until the end when I went to the counter to pay and was completely ignored for quite some time. The restaurant itself was very very cold. It's a giant cavernous space and I'm sure quite hard to heat, and we were there pretty early so maybe things just hadn't warmed up yet. Also would have helped if I had asked not to be seated next to the windows. That's my fault.

Yelp
We returned as our start to our Staycation. I tried the breakfast tacos with cajun chicken and chorizo with black beans. Side of Chicken sausage patties and ham. The chicken sausage was amazing as usual. The tacos were large, stuffed to overflowing but kind of bland. If the chicken or chorizo hahad spice you couldn't taste it. The ham was also good. Shana tried the black beans as she prefers them and they were ok. She got fresh market veggie oomelet and stated it was delightful and that the eggs were fluffy af. The staff was pleasant and fast. Less Christmas decor at this place then others. The alcohol is VERY limited so keep that in mind. It is usually busy but we got lucky and had a less busy time. The last visit didn't go as well but this one and previous ones before that did.

Yelp
I got Chile Chorizo Omelet, it was a perfect breakfast combo. A bit of salad, savory toast and delicious Omelet. Our server (Brittney) moved quick like a lightning. Tip: You can get in line on their website.

Yelp
First Watch is my go to breakfast/brunch place. I had a little time before work, so I thought I would treat myself to breakfast. Had the best service and the food is always outstanding. I wasn't sure what to get because I have favorites, but I really want to try to eat something new. And then I saw it. Like a halo around it, biscuits and gravy. Like, duh. Comes with biscuits, sausage gravy, 2 fried eggs. And potatoes. Sausage gravy is very flavorful. Biscuits are flaky, buttery, southern, I mean, it should be a good group of its own. 2 fried eggs medium. A little runny, but the whites are cooked through. Enjoyed everything. Coffee was really good as well. Excellent service. She was really nice to me and answered my questions. Even gave the suggestion of biscuits and gravy. For a Monday they seemed pretty business. 1 table had a lot of people. Looked like maybe they were coworkers or something. Other tables were couples. Few people sitting at the bar area.

Yelp
Another great breakfast here! My server was nice and sweet. I tried the morning market veg for the first time and it was super tasty. I love how much butter is on the bread since it's on the grainier side. It was fairly busy for a Monday morning, but the staff work well together to make sure that everyone is happy.

Yelp
Second visit in a week bc of nearby car repair. Greeting from the manager Cameron who we met a few days ago and seated right away. I was in the mood for lunch so got a 1/2 combo of a club sandwich and maple pecan salad - soooo tasty! Would order again for sure! Previously had only gotten breakfast food. Partner got blueberry pancakes and the infamous Million Dollar Bacon - both of which were delish! Coffee is always good too. Cameron came back to chat before we left - appreciated the superb PR and friendly approach. Food and services at this location far surpass others! Will go out of our way to go back.

Yelp
Service was slow but food was great as always. The fall menu is delish - definitely recommend the brussel hash

Yelp
Super disappointing delivery food. I've purchased this exact breakfast many times while dining in, but this is my first time for delivery. The yogurt looks prepackaged, as the one dining in has much more going on. There's hardly anything besides the yogurt. There is a dash of fruit and granola. Photo is after I mixed it in. Not worth $13. Also why no utensils? I saw the bag has a check box for it, but I don't recall seeing it as an option on the delivery page. Just throw in the 5 cent fork and spoon so customers can eat on the go. The juice is tiny with no straw. Again, something I order often dining in and it comes in a big pint glass. Why do places assume we don't need or want a straw? I ordered a side of bacon (not pictured), and after tax and tip this was $30. Insane for what you get.

Yelp
First watch always has great breakfast and they are always adding seasonal items on their menu. I recently visited this location and tried their million dollar menu. I got their honey caramel crunch iced coffee which was really delicious but also sweet. The toffee crumbles were a great addition and texture to the drink. I had to try their million dollar bacon. Topped with brown sugar and drizzled with honey on top. A perfect combination of flavors. Then got their million dollar sandwich. An English muffin with sausage, Gouda cheese, an egg, arugula, and hot honey drizzled on the sandwich. The sandwich was also really delicious the whole million dollar menu is a great addition to the already great first watch menu. We had to wait a bit on a Saturday morning for a table but we were able to get one within 10 minutes. The service was also great. You can never go wrong with first watch for breakfast.

Yelp
Dude. That was a delicious breakfast. We have all been wanting to come here for what feels like forever, and we made it happen this Friday. The entire menu looks so dang delicious. But we settled on the breakfast bowl off the specials menu- the Million Dollar harvest hash, a singular lemon ricotta pancake, the million dollar bacon, and the traditional breakfast with turkey sausage. And the delicious coffee which is called Project Sunrise! (And they even had mini pumpkin spice coffee-mates on the table!) I only snagged one potato with a little goat cheese off the bowl, but it was delish, and I didn't get to try the traditional breakfast, but it was definitely well received and devoured. I ate every bite of my lemon ricotta pancake. In fact, I am so pleased that when I asked for help making a choice between those and the breakfast sandwich, the waitress mentioned that they were a) her favorite and b) she only gets one. Because I would have eaten two, and regretted it later. Crispy edges, the perfect balance of tart and sweet with the lemon curd and the strawberries with a little sugar sauce on them (much appreciated since it is the end of peak berry season). I can't recommend them enough, and a slice of that million dollar bacon was the perfect complement. Delish. In fact the food was SO good, that we took these food pics and forgot to take one of US! Highly recommend!

Yelp
First Watch is a great place to get breakfast, brunch, and / or lunch, however after several terrible experiences at this location, we will never be back here. We made a reservation online, and arrived to find the host table was tucked away, so we tried to talk to the cashier who ignored us multiple times. We decided it was best to get in line and wait with those who were waiting to pay for their meal. As we started to get in line, the cashier who ignored us happily greeted two parties right in back of us, back to back and got them seated right away. When we tried to get help from someone else, but they stated the cashier will help us. It was clear they did not care to help everyone like us, just the people they wanted, so we left. I have no idea why they would treat us like this but we hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. We do not recommend this location, and we will never back ourselves.

Yelp
Please sample food other than the ones you are selling to customers. Part of this review is also on yelp. Why do I need to add so many characters?

Yelp
This is a favorite place for breakfast in Austin. All of the food is very good, and service is friendly. Mike, my server today, was polite, attentive, and efficient, making the experience a very good start to my day. I usually get the Bacado Omelette, which is quite good. I appreciate the fact that it comes with mixed greens, making for a less-heavy breakfast. The atmosphere is pleasant, not too loud, and congenial to beginning the day. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I recently had a delightful brunch experience at First Watch. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a diverse range of brunch options, and the food was both flavorful and beautifully presented. The portions were satisfying without being overwhelming, allowing me to savor every bite. I particularly enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Benedict which stood out for its perfectly poached eggs. First Watch is definitely one of my top restaurants for brunch!

Yelp
Amazing food !! I had the pumpkin pancake and eggs! The service was impeccable, Mar was an exceptional waitress and ensured we had a great breakfast experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Melanie took extra care of me as I enjoyed the sugar high from the caramel coffee with Hershey heath candy and sweet honey butter on my cornbread. The ambiance was quite and not to busy. The only thing that I wish was better was the food.

Yelp
This is the best breakfast place we've found in Austin and this location the best we've tried. The food is well seasoned and fresh. Our server Mike was friendly and good vibes

Yelp
I have one thing to say and one thing only...MARA! She was the cutest, more than happy to help us with what we need, and had great recommendations. the fresh squeezed juice is phenomenal and we always have to get the cinnamon toast crunch cocktail and the million dollar potatoes are always super yummy
google avatar

Leah L.

Yelp
My current favorite breakfast spot. Also if you sign up for the email newsletter, you'll receive a free birthday meal. I'm a huge fan of the Project Sunrise coffee (which you can also buy by the pound, and I did) The food is always great, super fresh, and they're very accommodating with requests. For example, my friend wanted the burrito on the seasonal menu but wanted everything inside rather than "wet" as advertised and they were happy to do it. Be prepared to wait for a table, I recommend downloading their app and that way you can put yourself on the list ahead of time and alleviate some of the wait time. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had to wait a while to get a to-go box, and the bathrooms were dirty. Otherwise another great experience.

Yelp
Great breakfast with the granddaughter! Waffles, breakfast tacos, hot cocoa with whipped cream! Delicious! And Mara provided us with excellent service!

Yelp
Love the food, ambience and fantastic service. Everything was wonderful. I got the classic Italian omelet and mimosa.

Yelp
Mara was the best most attentive waitress. She was so kind and knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations and was on top of everything. Highly recommend this place for their service and good food.
google avatar

Yelp
Always kinda hit or miss here. Million dollar bacon was cooked perfectly! Biscuit and turkey gravy - not great. Biscuit burned and gravy was sour. Potatoes cooked nicely. Scrambled eggs were pre made because they were very cold. Blackberry sweet was very refreshing.

Raine N.

Yelp
Mara was an awesome server. First time here. Loved the farm to table vibe. Would love the idea of homemade salsa for my tacos but Cholula works too.
google avatar

Dori E.

Yelp
The food we ordered was great and our server was very friendly. There was no wait on a Tuesday morning. We will be back!

Yelp
Food is always super solid, carrot cake muffin is dang good. Mara is a great server! Had the breakfast quesadilla this go around to get something I don't normally eat and it was delicious, I was hoping to have left overs for lunch and that did not happen.

Leticia O.

Yelp
Food is great and the service was amazing! Always happy to have breakfast in this location. Thank you Mara!

Yelp
Great menu and great service. Their summer menu offered some nice choosings. Went on a Sunday morning and the wait was only about 5 minutes. Strawberry French toast was really good.

Lauren R.

Yelp
Mara was super attentive and sweet. Helped me work to create my idea of a dish that wasn't on the menu. Also these drinks were soo yummy!

Yelp
If you are coming here to dine... you might want to rethink that. I have been to "First Watch" at other locations and enjoyed their food so we decided to try this location. I'm sure I'll never be back. For starters, there is no way to get your name on a waitlist from the Yelp app. I know other restaurants have this ability but you have to go to their website to "get in line". We tried to do this from home but their website wasn't loading so we just figured to walk in. When we arrived (before 10am) they said it would be 20-30 minutes. Perfectly acceptable... but it ended up being 55 minutes and that wasn't until we went up and reminded them we had been waiting and many had been seated before us. So, "1 Star" for the wait and ability to get a table. Once seated, it took 15 minutes before any even came to our table to greet us. And when someone finally did, although this person was friendly, it was just to take a drink order and then left. We have now been here for almost an hour and a half and we are very familiar with the menu. He was aware of our long wait and should have anticipated we were ready to order but only took drink orders and again, disappeared for quite some time - we only ordered iced tea and juice so I don't know the reason the long disappearance. When we finally got to order our meals, I asked if they could do a special order. The server nicely enough said it depended on what I wanted. I explained how I wanted an egg white scramble with mushrooms, spinach and feta cheese with sourdough toast and for an extra, we ordered the million dollar bacon. It should be no surprise but it was another 40 minutes before we received our meals and this wasn't without having to ask someone when they thought our food might be ready. When the food arrived, I thought it was a joke. I was given a small cold plate with scrambled egg whites on the side. Next to it was a side of sautéed spinach and mushrooms. Another small plate had one slice of cold dry sourdough. It was apparently toasted, but it must have been hours ago because it was as cold as loaf of bread from a grocery store... and it was dry (no butter). I'm sure someone thought because I ordered egg whites I would want dry toast but then you should have included butter on the side. However, if I want dry toast... why would you sauté my mushrooms and spinach in butter!?! And this isn't even mentioning there was no feta cheese. The meal I ordered is just a slight variation of the "Tri-Athlete" breakfast. But that meal comes on a full plate with a side of fruit and house preserves for the toast. I never said anything about wanting this ala carte and I have ordered this same meal at many a restaurant throughout the U.S. and have never had it served this way. After delivering the food, the server disappeared without refilling our drinks or checking to see if we were satisfied. The next time we saw him was when he dropped off the check. No food is worth a two hour experience. Clearly they are short staffed but that's a management problem. I've worked in food service when I was younger so I'm very familiar with how it works. There were many tables that were routinely empty and yet a line of people going out the door. Your website, while functional, doesn't provide the option right on Yelp to get on waitlist like so many other restaurants. The first time we ate at a First Watch, the wait was minimal and the food good and fresh. This location was anything but. Food served on cold plates? Have you ever heard of plate warmers? Pretty common in the restaurant industry. If you are going to serve me dry toast without asking... how about asking if I want butter on the side or just brining it to me. And because I ordered a meal with special ingredients, doesn't mean I want them all individually and I have to assemble myself. I cooked for eight years in restaurants so if you need someone to come and educate them on how to make a simple egg scramble, happy to share my experience. But if you are thinking of coming here... there are many other places with excellent "HOT" breakfasts where you don't have to wait so long

Yelp
Food came out fast, food was good and Mara was very nice! Never really had any issues coming out to this location.

Shayla G.

Yelp
My friends and I came out to eat and enjoyed Mara as our server, she was the best! Food was great and YOU NEED TO GET THE KALE TONIC.
google avatar

Kenn M.

Yelp
The food was fine. Here is why I won't go back. I should have been skeptical when I saw that the drinks on the menu had no prices. I should have asked. But I did not. And I was appalled that they charged four bucks for a plain coffee. I would have been angry even if the coffee was good. But I paid four bucks for bad coffee. I won't make that mistake again. That's guaranteed, considering I won't be going back.

Yelp
Mara was a great server!! Best place to come and get brunch! The iced coffee and million dollar bacon are a must have.
google avatar

Yelp
Love all these locations but if u are at 183 and braker, ask for Mara! Thank me later, she's the best!

Yelp
First time! The presentation of the food is nice. I got the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl. The ambiance was nice. Wooden tables and floor makes the place seem comfortable and the smell of food is always great. I felt that overall everything was too salty and sour. The flavors don't mix well together. The two pieces of lemon on the side is also kind of random since the sauce was already sour. I enjoyed the kale the best. There should be more napkins on the table. The service is fine. My server guided me to a table and guided me to a table. When I was almost done with my food, she told me I could pay at the counter in the front. Both of the toilets were not and could not be flushed in the women's restroom.

Cristina L.

Yelp
Brunch and service were excellent. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Fast and well presented. Come see Mara , she is A++

Yelp
Mara was our waitress and was so kind to a big group of nurses after a long shift. Bloody Marys were delicious, too. Thanks, Mara!

Amy K.

Yelp
Our food and drinks were delicious, and both came out really quickly! I had the biscuits and gravy, and the million dollar bacon. Our server Mara was super sweet and took care of us really well. Will definitely be back here!

Yelp
The food was great as always! Our server Mara was so attentive and kind. This keeps us coming back!

Yelp
Absolutely loved the Salmon Eggs Benedict, the coffee and the Morning Meditation drink were also good. The Million Dollar bacon was talked about by a staff at a different restaurant which brought me here to try it. I can't say I was impressed by it as I am not a bacon eater to begin with but it also didn't taste anything like bacon because it had syrup with a touch of spice. It was good, but 4 pieces of sugar. The waiter was great and very personable the wait was 30mins to an hour but we were able to sit in a timely manner at the bar to eat. The environment was cute and cozy with some interesting decor noted in other reviews.

Yelp
Food always hits the spot. It's a great place for leisurely coffee drinking during the week, and festive on the weekends. Kudos to Ayesha for perfect service every time.

Yelp
We have not eaten at this location for 2 years due to previous poor service and food wasn't up to our standards. This time everything was top shelf especially the service rendered by Marance!

Yelp
I normally love First Watch. This is my first time at this location. Service was decent. Restaurant is bright and open. It wasn't busy at all for a Monday morning around 9:30AM which I found surprising. I ordered the million dollar hash off the fall menu. I specifically requested no onions and the waitress came back after I ordered to ask if I didn't want any potatoes in my dish. She said they were cooked with onions. Since that is the entire base of the dish, I said to leave them in. I don't know why they couldn't have cooked fresh potatoes without onion. Like I said, they weren't busy at all. Plus, who cooks onions with sweet potatoes? Anyway, the food came out. It was okay but not amazing. I forgot how sweet their million dollar bacon is, so that's on me. As you can see in the last picture, there was so much grease in the food. That is not appetizing at all. I won't order this dish again, and don't know that I will visit the location again either.

Tyson W.

Yelp
Mara was great! Got our food out quickly and Helped us time a to go order. The food and atmosphere was amazing as well. We will be back!

Vanessa F.

Yelp
I love Saturday brunch here. The only thing I would improve is the wait time. Otherwise anything on the menu is amazing. Especially the farmhouse hash
