Best bass fish I ever had! I wish I had know before how tasty bass is. Location is busy but the food taste great. We are definitely coming back soon. I should mention that I have little allergy to gluten and they kindly fry my fish in corn meal there is a guy named Sergio that goes above and beyond to satisfy the customers always with a happy face as a complement. I used to go to aw shucks before but ever since I found this place I have no need to go another places for tasty and delicious seafood. Last picture is of mahi mahi with fries and vegetables.

Food was great!! Favorite was the boiled crab legs. The fried items could have used a bit more spice but overall great experience and pretty good prices!

Bf and I came here for a date night as he has been here before and highly recommended it. I immediately noticed how crowded it was. Definitely a neighborhood local favorite on a Friday night, which is always a promising sign. Menu was diverse and seemed overall quite affordable. You could get many kinds of seafood cooked in practically any way you could imagine with large portion sizes. Bf got a plate with catfish and butterfly shrimp and I got a plate with cod. We split a side plate of fried okra. The okra was above average I would say, and we finished our plate of it. The fries were alright but nothing special, and I’d say the seafood was great. I enjoyed the shrimp I tried off of my bf’s plate more than the cod, but it was all cooked well and portioned generously. The sauce it came with was tangy and paired well with the seafood. Additionally, the coke I was given was absolutely massive and easily 3x what you would get for the same price elsewhere. I’d for sure recommend this place. Just be aware that it’s on the small side and parking/tables are limited!

I randomly stumbled upon this restaurant while in Plano. It was very crowded, so I had high expectations. I ordered the catfish special. I cannot remember if it was a lunch or daily special, but it came with rice and beans. All of the food was hot and fresh. My only complaint is that everything was lacking in seasoning.

The service was amazing, genuinely friendly, happy people. The food was just average though. If you're not from Louisiana, you might find it to be really good. But for us, I'm sorry to say the gumbo was not authentic at all, way too much flour and cornstarch, way too few shrimp and literally one teeny piece of sausage. I think that's what it was. The bread on the Po-Boys is not authentic French bread. The tilapia however, in the po-boy was very tasty. Nice casual, pleasant atmosphere. I wanted to like it more

Your catfish expert is back at it again. I've been spending some time in the Plano area lately, so I'm trying the businesses on that side of town. I tried the Fish Shack and ordered my traditional fried catfish with okra and puppies. The fish was fried perfectly. The fillets were a little on the thin side. Okra was also fried perfectly. The seasoning was minimal at best. From other posts, I believe that is intentional as they offer many sauces, including a bar, to make your own horseradish cocktail along with hot sauces and tartar. I would have liked some spice added, but I get not all are the same. Overall the staff was great. Neat place with some history the decor inside was different as it seems there is a history of stapling dollar bills to the wall making a great wallpaper. Overall, it's a solid place. Good food with some options. Fish fillets could be larger and with some spice. Price was on point as lunch was under $20.00

First time here decided to try a local spot. Had the catfish special. I asked for any signature sides since most of them are fried. They said we have what’s on the menu. I asked do you have any homemade sides she then said onion rings. I did not get that and ordered the rice and vegetables. It was an up charge and the sides were cold and had no flavor.

My family stopped in to the Fish Shack, and the food was reasonably priced, fresh, and the customer service was A+. The employees were friendly and helpful, and I would love to visit again.
