We stayed here for one night and really enjoyed it. The room was very spacious and clean, and although the shared bathroom was well maintained, there was only one for several rooms, which felt a bit limited — at least we had a sink in the room. For dinner, we ate at the restaurant just across the street and had an excellent fish & chips, the catch of the day, and a very good local beer — all at a reasonable price by Icelandic standards. Breakfast was also very good, with Skyr, several kinds of muesli, fruit, coffee, and a savory selection. Overall, a great experience and definitely recommended.

Late morning stop. They had just cleared their breakfast service but very kindly offered to make us plates to go with our hot drinks. Cute place in heart of town. Info about the Fisherman seafood tasting tour (I think this is one of the stops). Lysi fish oil shots were offered, which I tried. Friendly service for sure!

The town is lovely. We stopped here as part of a tour. The accommodations are mediocre. The room had a strong odor and couldn't open the windows because There was a festival going until the wee hours of the night right outside our window. Zero sleep. Breakfast was awful. They put out rotten fruit on the display to be eaten.

Both dishes were satisfying and well-prepared — the lamb was tender, well-marinated, and rich in flavor, while the fish and chips were perfectly crispy, served with a tangy sauce and fresh salad. A hearty and comforting meal overall.

We wish we had more days here. Perfect guesthouse in a picturesque town. We had a late check in after 12:00 am the attendant was kind enough to wait for us; they also put an instruction note stuck on the door, in case, we were too late. The beds were comfortable and the room had an electric kettle, sturdy table, WiFi was great and lastly the attached bathroom was cherry on top. We booked through booking.com and the rate included breakfast (served between 7 to 10 am). There were moderate food options and the coffee was good. You can also buy souvenirs from here :)

We stopped here during an excursion from our cruise ship. This place has friendly service, is clearly used by locals, and has bathrooms. The beverage selection is limited but of high quality.

If I spot “fish of the day” on a menu, chances are high that’s what I’m ordering. It’s usually the freshest thing the kitchen has to offer—and in a charming fishing village like Suðureyri, the fish was probably caught just a few hours earlier. At Fisherman, the fish of the day was excellent: perfectly pan-fried cod with a tasty caper sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. The guesthouse is warm, welcoming, and easy to recommend—just the kind of place that makes you feel right at home.

Went in their little restaurant across the street from the guest house. Had really great cherry cake and espresso, nice people.
