"Fisherman's Bastion Fisherman's Bastion was built between 1895 and 1902 on Buda's Castle Hill not to provide protection, but rather as a lookout point—and this fairy-tale castle site, with its seven spired towers representing the seven tribe of Magyar (Hungarians) that settled here in the 9th century, is all about providing stunning views of the city, the Danube, and best of all the ornate parliament building across the river. In medieval times, a guild of fishermen protected this area, giving the bastion its name, and its construction coincided with the restoration of the nearby church. You can just walk around and drink in the beauty, or pay a small fee for a walk up a tower spire, to further amplify the amazing view."
ok obviously you're going to go here because it's a big tourist place. however my biggest tip is to go at night, after sunset for sure. then you don't have to pay to actually go up on the walls & you get to see the city at night which is so sweet. there's way fewer people and it's great for pictures as well as getting that good travel feeling (yknow when you feel adventurous and independent and all that)
After the Parliament building this was the most impactful building in Budapest in terms of its striking beauty and architecture. It was very Harry Potter’est looking in places. We walked up there ourselves starting at the Buda Castle and walking along the top which is the best way to explore the area. You can only enter the ramparts of the building with a ticket but you get equal views without having to go on the ramparts. It’s also stunning at night. Don’t forget to also check out the presidential palace near by.

Loved this place so much, visited multiple times during the holiday, day and night. Misunderstood what it's first, as its only few towers and a defence wall kind of structure with a restaurant in one of the passage ways, no museum. Need to pay for one of the higher towers, but we didn't. Needed to wait for picture opportunities, but was fine.

Amazing architecture mixed with unbelievably amazing and beautiful view for big Budapest hill, center of the city and it's amazing bridges. Definitively worth to visit and maybe if You are lucky like me, You will get into folklor festival with bit of cultural songs and dances on stage nearby the church.
This place is a MUST if You are sightseeing Budapest and want to see all of it's most important part's.

Come here for the best views of the Hungarian parliament. They make you pay to actually go up a floor but everything else is free access. To be honest I don’t suggest getting the ticket since the view from elsewhere here is just as good.

This is one of the most beautiful site in Budapest. The structure itself is majestic and will leave you in awe. It also holds a structure of a church and the view from here to the rest of Budapest is absolutely amazing. To go to the top part of the Bastion’s wall will cost you some money after 9am, but the view is well worth it. You can get some wonderful view of the Parliament from here. If there is one place you could visit in Budapest, this would be the one.

The views from Fisherman’s Bastion are incredible. You get sweeping panoramas of the city, the Danube, and the Parliament building—it’s one of the best spots in Budapest for photos. The architecture of the bastion itself is beautiful and adds to the fairytale-like atmosphere.

Fisherman's Bastion is amazing! You can get up there so fast by bus, and the views from inside the fortress are just incredible, especially at night. It's the perfect spot to see the city lights and have a truly wonderful evening.

Beautiful place. If you have the Budapest transportation ticket you can take the bus instead of the tourist vehicle which costs you around 15 euro per person. That's more convenient.
