Fisherman's Village

A wonderful place where the ocean seems to smile down on you! The view of the bay and sailboats is simply a postcard, especially with a cocktail in hand and a whole weekend ahead. The restaurants are excellent—you can come for lunch and just stay until dinner. The only downside is that there's no live music on weekends anymore. It used to be magical: sun, food, and someone singing about their love for the sea and beautiful girls! Now all you can do is sing to yourself, but the crowd is definitely welcoming! 🎶⛵🍹

Nice little fisherman's wharf area with restaurants, boutique shops, bike rentals, escape rooms, and boat rides. Got to enjoy the seals and wildlife at the harbor. Great for biking and for taking walks along the harbor. Plenty of paid parking but no public restrooms.

We visited on a Sunday evening. It’s a calm and quiet spot — not too happening, but nice if you’re looking for a peaceful outing. ✨ What to expect: • Beautiful sunset and skyline views with boats in the backdrop. • Affordable boat rides (around $1) in the backwaters. • Several waterfront restaurants and cafes, great for a meal or drink. • Plenty of parking space. • Small carousel 🎠 and bike ride for kids. Good place to visit if you live nearby and want to relax by the water. 🌊

Cute place by the water. Nice to walk with a nice view. We saw seals out stealing the poor fisherman's catches. Restaurants and refreshment places around. The crepe place was great.

Quick afternoon walk near Lax. We came for the sea lions and we saw them!! Walking along the marina with small shops and saw dancing ladies that afternoon! Such a great vibe! Perfect for those having a quick stopover in LA.

Cute little spot on the marina. A couple nice restaurants, and several art galleries. Plus a couple other shops. However, if you go at night, look carefully for the parking kiosks! We did not see them because they were unlit and the signs were not regular parking signs, with the big blue P in a circle. We ended up getting a $63 parking ticket. Which sucks, because we were actually looking where to pay and couldn't see them.

There aren’t that many stores and the parking machines aren’t kept up. Watching the birds, the boats, the sea lions, and the people is kind of fun. There were people dancing to music. That wad kind of cool.

Nice during the day. When the sun goes down the security cameras shine bright red and blue lights at you. Kills the vibe. It’s obnoxious enough certainly to discourage people from visiting, and maybe to discourage crime.

Most Recently: February 25, 2026 | Marina del Rey | Fisherman's Village is a super cute area with pretty pastel color shops, views of the Marina, boats & yachts of all shapes and sizes, restaurants, cute little shops inside and a variety of restaurants! I always enjoy walking around and taking in the views, as well as dining! Inside & All Around | Souvenir shops, MDR Historical Society, clothing shops, places where you can rent boats, go on Harbor cruises & so much more! I've also been on the weekend and while dining, there was live music, and even people dancing around...Fun!! Also, I can always spot a variety of gorgeous flowers all around, so pretty! Dining Experience | I've dined at KC's Crepes for delicious, savory, and sweet Crêpes! I've eaten delicious Mexican food at El Torito! Also, had delicious Lobster Rolls several times at Whiskey Red's, which has a beautiful waterfront view, especially from the outside patio! Surprise | One evening, a friend, and I stumbled upon a total dance party outside, which included outdoor shopping, which was a win because one particular item (Vintage Coat) from a vintage shop caught my eye, and I had to have it for an upcoming concert! Hahaha! The owner of the shop even invited me to his full vintage collection at a warehouse in Downtown Los Angeles! I've also enjoyed shopping at Istanbul Home with my cousin when she was in town! Fun shopping here! Parking | Be sure to remember to stop at the parking station and pay once you park, which will also ask for your license plate number! Tickets will be given otherwise! Also, be sure to park in the correct direction or tickets will be given! Overall | Yes, I highly recommend, as it's a super cute area, both charming & quite serene as well as incredible views all around! It's fun to walk around, as well as a great place to take someone who is in town visiting!

You could come one time and not be back for years. Me, this was the second time within a couple of months here. Sunday funday with friends and the meet up spot was here so it was nice to be back. Plenty of parking in the massive parking lot. The fees are quite reasonable hourly or 8.00 for all day. Pretty cheap compared to other places. There's a few eating spot with two main restaurants on either side. The boardwalk isn't that long but quite nice. Theres benches along the way so prefect spots for just sitting and watching the boats come in and out. Theres some small vendors along the waterfront. A couple souvenir and trinket shops. As well as a few quick eating spots. Plus an escape room which we did partake in that I didn't even know was here. It was quite busy for a Sunday with people out and about enjoying the day. The sun was shining which is alway a plus hence the crowd was out in full force. Would you spend a day here, probably not. It's someplace you walk around for a bit or stopping over for a meal and then walking around.

Fisherman's Village carries lots of memories since I was a kid. I love coming here mainly to enjoy the view of the tranquil waters and the sailboats. Just strolling the boardwalk is truly a peaceful experience. If you're a tourist it might be nice to have brunch or lunch and enjoy a cruise around the harbor, just be sure to plan ahead. There are a few tourist friendly shops but honestly, nothing special. The retail experience is decades overdue for an upgrade, which is probably my only gripe. There are a few restaurants in the village and dozens of restaurants along Admiralty Way. There a live outdoor bands in the spring and summer that attract locals and visitors alike. During the week it's pretty quiet but on the weekend you'll see lots of people. There is ample metered parking, but the pay machines are a mess and often require patience and persistence to get them to work. Overall, I'd say come here for a stroll and to enjoy the spectacular waterfront views.

This review is for the GIFT SHOP. We were so happy to find this place, but when we went into the gift shop (I forgot the name of it), the lady was super pushy to make a sale. She actually had a lot of nice souvenirs that we wanted to buy for our family, but she kept asking over & over what our budget is, who we're shopping for, and the moment we looked at one sweatshirt, that was it... She was relentless. Even after we repeatedly asked nicely if we can just browse first, she'd only stay quiet for maybe 5 seconds then kept pushing us to try on the clothes and how much money we have to spend. I think we would've bought a number of souvenirs here, but the experience literally made us leave. If you can put up with an excessively pushy sales lady, then this place actually has some cute items.

Friday was the first day of the summer kick off to all the activities in the Marina.fantastic one of a kind shops. And restaurants I really enjoy the boat rides and nostalgic memories I get walking around the fisherman village. Bring your family or a date enjoy the 1 dollar boat ride

Excellent Italian restaurant. The server's face was sweating. Many , many flies buzzing around diners at indoor tables. Strange - this is Southern California, not Boston! The doors were all propped open. Too hot inside. Turn on AC and close doors, please. Great bread, antipasto, friendly staff. Fabulous deserts .

A neat little harbor in Marina del Rey. You can grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and enjoy the view. Waterfront, plenty of parking, and beautiful views of boats. There are a few restaurants for lunch and shops to browse. If you walk or ride to the village, I like the fact there is a public restroom that is always relatively clean. Inexpensive self-pay parking.

The good: This is a great spot to see sea lions. They sun lounge on the dock here and are very close and visible. You can also see them swimming around nearby. There are restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and plenty of parking. You can paddle board, jet ski or rent a boat here. The jet ski was $130 for 1 hour. The bad: There are certain areas of the pier that smell really bad from the fish or the bait. The buildings are old and a bit run down. I came on a Friday and it was not popping. The water is dirty by the boat areas. There was trash floating around. The interesting: You're supposed to pay to park but the meter was covered when I came by a plastic bag.

What a quiet little relaxing place! It was our first time visiting this place and spent 2 hours by the harbor enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The seals were fun to watch. We paid $2 for 2 hours...which was not bad. I was surprised to see how clean their public toilets were...great jobs! We didn't go to any of the restaurants but went to a gift shop. I ended up buying 2 rings and a magnet for $84 0_0 ...now kinda thinking if they overcharged me for the items :/ None of their stuff were labeled with price tags, so couldn't tell if they were just making up the price. (& therefore the 4 stars instead of 5, sorry) Overall it is a beautiful place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Yes, Fisherman's Village is dated but it's still concerts and the Marina itself that make this place special for many people. Some of the bands are very good and it can be a fun place to walk around since this is the largest man-made Marina that I know of. The bottom line is I will continue to come here and enjoy what it has to offer but I hope someday that they do a major upgrade, especially on the restaurants.

Practically deserted on a Friday morning. Beautiful weather and views of the marina and water. Cute restaurants and shops. Tourist stores.

I was there last night to take my parents for their 72nd wedding anniversary dinner. The parking situation was insane. My mom has a disabiiity placard but there are few spaces allocated and, of course, all were occupied. Fortunately my son was with us so I dropped them off and found a space halfway across the parking lot. Okay, so now I have to go find a parking kiosk and them make my way all the way back to the car, then back to the restaurant. I get to the kiosk and there are 10 people standing in line and it's not moving. I go to another and there's less people, but the kiosk isn't working. At that point, I decided to risk getting a ticket because it was at the point of being ridiculous.

How about fixing the parking pay machines???? Or allow payment to be made online since this IS the 21st Century!?!

I had an absolute blast on this HornBlower cruise for a company mixer and the food was surprisingly delicious!! The dj was great as we were dancing and sailing around for hours. Thank goodness it was such a large boat. Didn't even feel the waves or if we were on the water. I highly recommend this to network with your peers. Boat interior was very outdated and the carpets were old and worn so a little love to the interior would be more presentable. Meanwhile at the Village-My friend got charged $75 for a sweatshirt in the village which was no bueno!!! That was so taking advantage of a cold night!! Parking machines don't work well so it's not you or your credit card! We all needed to try about 3 or 4 times to get a ticket. Trick is to take out the card quickly after it says "remove card" and lingering may say it's not readable so bring cash just in case. Many things outdated in the cute Village. Some attractions and updates can make this place a festive hangout if they can find some good investors and PR!!

The fisherman's village is a waterfront mall and commercial boat portarage located in the world's largest man-made small boat harbor at Marina del Rey. The merchants here used to validate parkings, and nowadays it's all self paid parking, first two hours $2, and two to four hours $4 in total.

This location has been a family favorite for years to get away from the City a little bit and enjoy the scenery. There is a large parking lot which is about a dollar and we tend to come here for a Birthday event at the El Torito for the million dollar view and take a walk afterwards to see which sea animals we see! Fisherman's Village is really just a walkway along the Marina: there are several restaurants, but not a lot to choose from. Maybe one souvenir shop, but there are docks for hornblower cruises, as well as for private boats. It's a picturesque place and peaceful; unless you're going on a boat, it is NOT an all day activity as there's not a lot "to do" here. Definitely worth coming once or twice a year, to read a book, walk the dog or meditate. It's very chill for a slower pace to your day!

Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey is a representation of a New England fishing village. The faux buildings house shopping, eating, and offices. For a company excursion, we went to Fisherman's Village in Marina del Rey. I've never been so I was quite excited but I also didn't know what to expect. The area was so cute. It reminded me of Hilton Head Island in SC. There were bright buildings and a tall lighthouse. We also saw some seals/sea lions. I wish I could've explored it more.

Lovely place to walk around and see the boats in the marina. You can rent bikes and kayaks, too. Not much open at the moment due to coronavirus, but it was cool to see the open water and sea lions sunbathing on the dock.

They changed the parking and it's pay to park but the signage is terrible and we got our first ticket for $65... first ticket in 40 years!!! FIX THE SIGNAGE or business will continue to suffer here.

Fishermans village is a nice place to go especially if you're in the area and or hanging out before or after a cruise! It has a few restaurants and shops--a mini waterfront mall or promenade. It is a small area; it's cute, colorful, and picturesque. There is a light house, bicycle and boat rentals, Catalina Island ferry service, cafe dining, and live music entertainment. It was a Sunday afternoon and the crowd was definitely there but not overly. Most people were there to board the brunch cruise. Very nice views and the water was mesmerizing. I could hear sea lions off in the distance but didn't see any. After the Hornblower brunch cruise we ended up paying $6 with validation. Parking: $1.00 for each 20 minutes--bring ticket with you to get the stamp validation for 2 hours for the hornblower brunch cruise. $15 MAX Hours: M-Sunday 8am-6pm

Amazing place! Los Angeles' hidden gem! So many great restaurants with a variety of different foods, best lobster rolls ever at La Sirenetta! So many different things to do, the Escape Rooms are incredibly unique, including one of King Tut! A variety of boats, kayaks, and jet-skis are available to rent for great prices, and sunset cruises happen often! If you're looking for a shopping experience like no other, Fisherman's Village is the place! Whether you're looking for a date night, a girls day, family time, or a day to treat yourself, they have it all.

Wow ! Our first time here and I had to say I loved the ambiance . Such a peaceful pleasant place to visit with family . There's a little something for everyone . My 15 year old had ice cream while we had cocktails . There was a band while we visited yesterday for The 4th of July and the firework show was amazing !

i wanted to update this location & say there currently is free parking which is a big bonus in Marina del rey since parking is usually heinous. It was a gorgeous day Sunday 2/19, this was a nice way to spend some time. they have little mini concerts on Sundays. (It looked like a senior zoomba class on 2/19). There were restaurants & a few shops. we walked around a bit, not that big so maybe 10 or 15 minutes from one end to the other, still nice gorgeous views with benches & log seating seaside. expect inflated prices on the waterfront.

This place brings me special memories with my grandmother back in the 1960's. I take my daughter here and we love seeing the sea lions and there were at least 8 if not more.

Very disappointing. There are barely any shops now. This has become more of an area for boat tours. But not much else. There are a couple of restaurants but that's it. If you are looking for shops to browse through and fun times, don't come here. If you want to just walk, see boats and maybe catch dinner or a boat cruise, this is your place.

The Marina waters are beautiful. The Fishermen's Village was deserted. We went on Sunday, 2:00 - 6:00, for walk and restaurant with the hopes of seeing people, music and upbeat place. None of that. But there were Pelicans looking at us like what the H are you doing here. The shops and restaurants were pretty empty but for couple of private events. Several businesses were closed down and I am sure the rest will not survive without customers. Even though looking at the Marina and boats was beautiful, there was a sad feeling or bad energy unless you like walking around like a survivor of apocalypse. We went to a restaurant at the end of the path, and it was completely empty so walked some more and returned and then just few people seated to eat. But still empty and low energy. Nice area destroyed by CA economics.

COVID Review Fisherman's Village is not handling COVID well (or at least not on the day we went). When we arrived, there were multiple large groups of people waiting to board boats or yachts who were not wearing masks (or frequently taking them off) and were not social distancing. There wasn't any staff or security presence managing the situation. Some of the restaurants (e.g., Whiskey Red's) seemed to be doing a good job following regulations -- outdoor seating, tables more than 6-feet apart. Other restaurants (e.g., El Torito and KC Crepes) were not. The tables were too close, in my opinion. There already isn't a ton to do in Fisherman's Village other than eat and look at the seals. When you take a lack of things to do and add safety concerns -- it's just not worth going back.

Love this place. Love the cool foggy mornings and evenings, and it's a great place to walk a dog. In the early morning you see boats going out to either go fishing or whale watching. Lots of restaurants and shops, everything right along the marina.

Delightful and cute area that deserves some attention. A few restaurants from fancy-ish to simply ice-cream and quick food; a marina where one can charter a fishing boat, or just take a water bus; or observe some marine life like the friendly sea-lion and tens of cranes, gulls et al. Two hour parking is free when validated. By chance, there was a Beatles Tribute band playing on Saturday afternoon from 2-5pm. They were great. Dancing allowed!

Don't come here for more than 2 hours unless you want to pay high parking fees! Came here for a hornblower cruise which was a couple hours. Stayed for dinner at el Torito which was a couple more hours. Validated parking at both places. Parking attendant said she could only validate for 2 hours. Had to pay $11 for parking on a Wednesday with an almost empty lot. They only want your business for 2 hours. Not coming back.

Really nice on the weekend. Come and eat at a restaurant right on the water at the marina. Beautiful boats, little shops...some gorgeous houses on the water too. You can go on a dinner cruise as well with Hornblower Cruise lines. You can walk around the marina just to take in the view. You have to pay for parking so come prepaid. No free street parking. Or just Lyft over to avoid parking issues.

Since I walk, ride, bike, or drive past this every day, I hesitate to write a review, but honestly there isn't a lot to do at Fisherman's Village. There are really only two choices: eat or get on a boat. The shopping is negligible and the fun consists of renting a bike, kayak, or jet ski. We catch the Water Bus here. Restaurants include El Torito, Shanghai Reds and some other middle of the road establishments. I'll be posting reviews on them soon, but basically there aren't any really great restaurants at Fisherman's Village. Often there is a live band performance on weekend afternoons, but it is in front of the fake lighthouse without much space to sit/relax/enjoy the bands. Parking isn't cheap, but can be validated for a couple hours at the restaurants. The vibe is very similar to Shoreline Village in Long Beach or even Ports o' Call in San Pedro, but with less shopping and weaker restaurants. It's wrong for me to bash on one of the main attractions in my own city, but I truly wish Fisherman's Village was better. Please improve the parking, bring in some cool restaurants (I'm looking at you YARD HOUSE), and offer some hip shopping options.

It took us more than 40 minutes to get there from LA downtown and got out of there in less than 20 minutes. The place has lots of potentials but it was just not maintained well. Unless you are here for restaurants or biking, there are nothing much to do.

Over the years Fisherman's Village has fallen apart. There is not one restaurant I would recommend and I have been to all, even the outdoor eatery. I have lived here in LA all my life and have seen the Village go from a great place to visit, have a good meal and just walk around and look at the lovely boats. The boats are still there and if you want to just walk around a Marina, then this is for you. But if you want good food or are a tourist, don't bother. There are so many other things to do in the City and in the Marina. I will update if the County ever fixes this mess, but I am not holding my breath.

I don't know what I was expecting, but quite possibly not this. I suppose it cannot be helped that this is just a strip of shops by the seaside and that's all that is. It's certainly not as impressive as SF's Pier 39, but you already have an inkling that it's not going to be. From across the marina, my friend and I saw the cute colored shoppes and people renting out kayaks so we took the water boat and rode all the stops to get to Fisherman's Village. About 5 minutes in, we were ready to head out. It's a short walk that is definitely very touristy with overpriced food items and a couple of fishing boats docked by the pier. I really don't have any more to say about this because that's all it was!

Fisherman's village is so cute and picturesque! I discovered it for the first time when riding along the strand. I saw the brightly colored buildings ahead and kept riding just to see what they were. I haven't really checked out any of the shops in the village, just walked around a bit as a break from biking. There are a few shops, restaurants and snack stands here to peruse but overall it's pretty quiet. Of course if you have watched arrested development, this will all look very familiar to you! If only the banana stand was there!

This place was a little disappointing. We went there in the morning around 10am and nothing was open. It was neat looking at the boats and water but I was left wanting more. There were a few cool spots for pictures but that is about all. Maybe if you go later in the day or on a weekend there would be more. I was hoping they would sell fresh seafood and have some cute seaside stores.

Arrested Development fans -- this place is a must! You'll recognize Fisherman's Village from the show as the set location for Bluth's Original Frozen Banana Stand. Of course, the Bluth Banana Stand isn't really there, but you can still buy a frozen banana at the shop next to the lighthouse! Parking is cash only, OR you can get validated for 2 hours by making a purchase at any shop. Don't worry, there are plenty of parking spots. There's live music, and the locals (mostly older) seemed to really enjoy it. This place is fairly desolate compared to Newport Beach's Balboa Pier. It's definitely ideal for someone who wants private thinking time, while enjoying a beautiful view. But just be warned that most of the shops here have gone out of business, so don't come with an itch to shop.

Cash only public parking lot. Free 2 Hours with validation. Was at Shanghai Red's and I could hear the live music from a reggae band from all the way over here. Told the rest of the table "we're here, we might as well check it out." It has the requisite ice cream shop, candy shop, gift and craft shops and a couple of nice restaurants by the water. But what made this, in my humble opinion, better than the San Pedro Port's o' Call are the following: * Live band * Less empty units. * Equipment rentals! What made it not as nice as POC is that the god seafood options are more expensive. They don't have as many affordable seafood places. But this is a good, CLOSER, alternative.

Nice little area for a bike or a stroll along the gorgeous marina. Parking is expensive but you can get it validated at the local shops there. They have bike rentals and boat excursions to see whales too. Even parasailing which I've been meaning to try. Will probably book an appointment when my cousins come to visit next month. The best part of this area is the scenic views of the harbor.

Barely anything there (literally one shop to walk through and shop but it was just a very small cheap and cheesy souvenir shop). We walked the whole thing in 15 mins and were done. There are 3 places to eat but we weren't hungry. Since nothing was there and we didn't eat, we couldn't get validated parking and had to pay to do nothing.

Feels like the concept didn't survive the economic crisis or the concept was flawed from the beginning. Except for a couple of restaurants, the area is pretty much empty and there are no stores left. In other words, not worth the detour.

Enjoyed walking around and listening to live band music. Nice place to relax and enjoy . Not o mention paragliding ,sail boat rentals are also available for those hoe seeks extra adventure.

Great place for an ice cream or lunch and to look at boats and sea lions and pelicans.. I only dropped a star because they have shops that need serious help, a makeover and a clearance section to get rid of the merchandise that has collected dust for years and limiting them from bringing in new and desired souvenirs. Best of luck to them, perhaps they can interview people visiting ask what they would like to see in the shop.

The first word that came to mind was: quaint. Fisherman's Village is pretty picturesque, I have to admit. Although there really isn't much to do there. Yes, there are shops, yes there are places to eat (chain restaurants and then some) and the ocean view is much less crowded than what you would find in Venice or Santa Monica. I come here from time to time to run along the beach, unfortunately both paths (meant for runners and cyclists) are overrun by some agro guys on bikes who gruff "ON YOUR LEFT!" and nearly sideswipe you in the process. I like that it's pretty easy to get your parking validated, but at the cost of paying $3 for a smart water. Seriously?!

If not for the small size of "Fisherman's Village," I would give it 5 stars. This is a quaint and adorable little area adjacent to the marina which includes many places to eat (burger stands to expensive restaurants). There are also some businesses where you can rent equipment if you wish to partake in aquatic activities such as paddle boarding, sailing, and jet skiing. I went parasailing twice leaving from here, and absolutely loved the experiences. It may get a little crowded in the afternoon on the weekends, but overall this is a great place for a romantic date or just to relax and escape from the middle of the city. Parking: some business validate an hour or 2 for the lot, which charges $1 per 20 minutes.
