The Torched Wild Sockeye Salmon is a MASTERPIECE!!! So flavorful! Literally the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. The Salmon Wellington was spectacular as well; it came with saffron cauliflower, which was notably delicious. I hope to return here one day!

Google
We had a lovely dinner. The food was delightful and our server was great. We even ended up getting dessert to keep the evening going! It was also nice weather outside and we were able to sit on the patio. Note: the inside definitely smells like seafood (comes with the territory haha), but many people still say indoors.

Google
It was my first time visiting , but I was looking forward to it because the reviews were good. Pre-dinner bread was served warmly, Oysters were fresh and the food was all excellent. The waitress was calm and kind and gave us chocolate for free. It was a happy hour on weekdays, so I could eat in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. We will surely come back.

Google
Their seafood is absolutely amazing, much better than I expected because we just randomly walked in and didn’t check online review. Excellent and friendly service, warm and cozy interior, food is great! Highly recommended!

Google
Restaurant is quite nice, I really enjoyed the cooked fish. The paella was interesting, not what I am used to as the ones that I’ve had in Spain was a lot more watery, but I am not an expert in Spanish cuisine. There was a bit of a weird aftertaste that I did not enjoy, but that might’ve been a specific herb rather than quality of the ingredients, I will give benefit of the doubt here as I quite enjoyed everything other than that small fact. Service was good and atmosphere was nice, would recommend.

Google
I have not had a lot of seafood but I wanted to try some while being so close to the ocean and I was not disappointed. I had oysters for the first time and they were delicious. I then had scallop Alfredo ravioli and the portions were perfect. The taste was amazing and I still think about it weekly. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to return one day and try more of the menu.

Google
One the best seafood restaurants in GVA. The servers are extremely friendly, the quality and portions of food is amazing compared to the price. I had the salmon Wellington and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon wasn’t overcooked, the green sauce at the bottom added a great tangy touch and vegetables were steamed perfectly. My friends got the seafood tower and there was so much sea food for $40. It said for 2 but I think 3 people could definitely eat it. Will definitely be back here to try different dishes 👏

Google
Fishworks is a seafood lover’s paradise! Their Caesar is hands down the best I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and absolutely refreshing. The oysters? Unbelievably fresh—delivered to the restaurant while we were eating! You can’t get fresher than that. We ordered the seafood tower, and WOW—it was massive, beautifully presented, and every bite was delicious. From the lobster to the prawns to the crab legs, everything was perfectly prepared. To top it all off, the prices were surprisingly affordable for such top-quality seafood. Strongly, strongly recommended for anyone craving amazing seafood. I’ll be coming back as often as I can! Many, many well-deserved 5 stars! 🌟

Yelp
Wow, had a really great meal at Fishworks during happy hour. This was my first time at the restaurant and we got there right at 4pm without a reservation. Seated promptly and ordered a few dishes to share. 1) Complimentary bread and hummus dip - bread was warm and the hummus was tasty. Had a good acidity without being too overpowering. 2) $1.75 happy hour oysters - fresh and creamy tasting. Excellent with a bit of mignonette and hot sauce. 3) Salmon tartare ($15) - SO good. So refreshing, bright - great flavors and texture. Highly recommend, I can eat a whole plate to myself. 4) Grilled marinated octopus ($16) - pleasantly surprised by this dish. Octopus wasn't too tough and tasted great with the chimichurri. Squash purée was a nice texture addition and a little sweet. 5) Caesar ($7) - pretty sure my server forgot my order since it came after the food. Drink itself was good with a kick. Appreciated the delicious chocolates at the end of the meal. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
Recently revisited Fishworks for dinner and came at a good time during happy hour. We got to try some of their oysters that were on special for $1.75. Oysters were very fresh. They also offered bread that came along with a plate of Humus with balsamic vinegar that was really delicious. For dinner I tried the strip steak and my husband had the Egmont Sturgeon but replaced with halibut instead for the fish. We found the dinner menu cooking and flavours a little dissapointing. The halibut was overcooked and tough. And the strip steak was overly salted on top and with the sauce on the side and blue cheese on the top it just made the whole plate even more salty. I noticed a lot of the tables in the restaurant mainly had their seafood tower so that may be their specialty. Service was friendly and attentative. I would visit again for their happy hour items but would probably skip for dinner.

Yelp
Interior is fairly small so make a reservation especially if you have a larger group. They were able to accommodate our group of 7. We stopped by to make a reservation the day before when we were in the area during happy hour. We ordered at least one of everything on the happy hour menu and nothing disappointed. Seconds on the grilled octopus and scallops. One of the best meals we had in the area. Service was also fantastic! Great ambiance.

Yelp
Decent food and pretty quick service. I would have liked to love this place but I ordered my dish with a couple alterations and it came without the requested alterations. When I pointed this out, the server laughed it off. While my requests were preference based, I was dining with a friend who has allergies and it made me uncomfortable that patron requests weren't being taken seriously.

Yelp
Worth the drive across the lions gate bridge! At the time of this review I would probably say this is my favorite restaurant in the city. The food is nothing but exceptional and the service is 5*. Definitely make a reservation as even happy hour had this restaurant fully booked on a weekend. My top recommendations are the salmon tar tar and the salmon Wellington.

Yelp
We went to Fishworks to celebrate a birthday in the family. Featured here: Fishworks Seafood Tower for four Grilled Marinated Octopus Ahi Tuna Tataki Crispy Squid and Prawns Lobster Bisque Prawns pasta Lobster "Mac n' Cheese" Salmon Wellington Lobster bisque wasn't quite up to par, but everything else on the table was fantastic. The seafood was fresh, and while the Seafood Tower was described on the menu as being enough for four people, we were a party of 7 and it was still plenty enough for all of us to share! The pastry on the Salmon Wellington was flaky, and the fish was very nicely flavored. I had ordered a Lobster Mac n Cheese elsewhere in the past and had been quite disappointed with the amount of lobster in my dish. This Lobster Mac n Cheese at Fishworks was quite the opposite. There were large chunks of lobster in my dish and they didn't skimp on it either! The restaurant brought out a complimentary plate of fish shaped chocolate truffles for the Birthday person, with the words "Happy Birthday" written on the plate in chocolate! Such a lovely gesture. We will be back here sometime, for sure! All of us were too full to order dessert but I saw a Strawberry Pavlova on their dessert menu and would definitely love to try that next time! Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the street Location: 91 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver, BC

Yelp
Excellent service here and warm vibes in general. It's a small restaurant, but tables are comfortable. Excellent bread service, and I haven't tried a seafood dish I don't like here. Raw oyster selection and quality is another strong point. The menu is a bit fusion focused in approach, but they do a good job pulling it off as a great offering. Drink and wine offerings are solid and reasonably priced. This place is a winner.

Yelp
Came here for HH and some seafood, which Vancouver is known for. The oysters tasted like the ocean, a nice salty and brine taste. The mussels were ginormous and prawns were absolutely delicious. The paella had its own unique flavor and twist from your typical recipe, which is something to consider. The service was fantastic. I highly recommend stopping here to get some fresh Vancouver seafood.

William H.

Yelp
Service was outstanding. We started with fresh oysters and had the seafood tower for two. Both were great. Loved how the tower comes hot rather than cold. Crab legs were easy to get the meat out which was nice. Highly recommended and we will repeat.

Yelp
Visiting Vancouver we were looking for a restaurant and was so happy to find Fishworks. Service was great and so was the food.

Maria S.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We absolutely loved each dish! The service was great and all of the waiters were so friendly. We reserved online for the happy hour. We were seated right away. Even though the restaurant was busy, the waiter got our orders fast. Such a great experience to have!

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place! The service is top notch- the servers are very attentive and made us feel welcomed. Since it was a pretty sunny day, we opted to eat outdoors. It's a nice set up with heaters for cold nights and a wheelchair ramp. The main road was right there with all the accompanying traffic noise but it didn't bother us because we were focused on the delicious food! Happy hour is 1600-1700 so we took advantage of the prices. The appetizers were about $15-$16. Warm bread came out with what I thought was sweet potato hummus in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This was followed by our choices- we pretty much ordered everything on the happy hour menu except the ahi because bring from Hawaii, we can get ahi all the time. *Oysters on the half shell was $1.75 each with a 6 per person max- sweet meat. Made short work of those *ceviche $15- chunks of fish with roasted pine nuts and huge corn kernels. Perfectly marinated and the nuts added flavor *1 lb of clams $18- the broth was very good- we asked for more bread to sop it up. Clams were tender *seared scallops $16- four oh so tender scallops on eggplant strips. *crispy shrimp (2) and squid breaded in a light batter. Crispy not greasy or tough. Clam chowder $10- wasn't part of the happy hour menu but the 4 year old is a clam chowder fan. Judging by the way he ate, it was good. The grownups did manage to sample few spoonfuls and yes, it was creamy but not too thick. Lots of clams in it. * We also sampled the happy hour lager $5 for 16 oz The feast fed 4 adults and a preschooler and for what we had- well worth it! On top of that, we got complimentary dark chocolates in shape of fishes- house made. Oh so good-not too sweet and the dark chocolate was the perfect end of an amazing meal! Mahalo from some very happy diners from Hawaii! We will definitely come back when we're up here again!

Yelp
Always fresh and delicious with very reasonable pricing for the seafood tower and oysters. Drink menu isn't fancy, but the drinks are good and service is always great!

Yelp
Phenomenal! Had daily halibut special and loved the curry sauce! Our waiter, Io, wonderful and all his suggestions were perfect. It was a special meal as they celebrated my birthday by writing Happy Birthday on my dessert. Asked to speak with chef, Manuel, and he delighted us by telling he cooks from the heart. By our clean plates and happy smiles, we already knew that!

Kay K.

Yelp
One of the worst restaurant experience I have had in Vancouver. Went during Dine out Vancouver. It took over 45 minutes to get an appetizer another 45 minutes to get the main course. When we complained, the server told us we had a big group beforehand. I also complained to the manager through writing email but he didn't seem to care nonetheless. Will never go back. There's tons of great places elsewhere to go.

Yelp
I do love the salmon Wellington here with the pistachio crust, and the small fish chocolates at the end of your meal! Not sure I got the correct fish on a busy night once tho and service is a bit hot and miss in my opinion. I'd go back to give it another try tho!

Yelp
Very good service, nice atmosphere, decor and music. Food was delicious - had the seafood paella, partner had the salmon wellington (which was actually a little dry). The lobster bisque appy was terrific, as was the creme brûlée dessert. Overall wonderful experience.
google avatar

Charlie K.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour good options at a great price for the quality. really cute vibe but service is very pushy - I understand the restaurant is small but if you should never be made feel awkward while enjoying time out and spending money. All in all, great food and atmosphere - lower Lonsdale staple.

Yelp
My best friend H, told me about this place. She said we have to try their Happy Hour deal. So B, H and I came here for dinner. It was to celebrate H graduating and becoming a full fledge P.Eng. We are super happy for her. We ordered the following items off of their Happy Hour menu: 1) Mussels $15 2) Fish and Chips $15 3) Oysters $1.50 Each For the price, it was already a wow deal. Portion size was regular/ full meal size. The food was super delicious. Service was great. Our meal also came with complementary bread. Service was wonderful. The restaurant is not big. So you have to come early or prepare to wait. I made a reservation before hand so we didn't have to wait. At the end, when the bill came, we each got complementary truffle chocolate. We didn't drive our car down here. We actually walked here. Parking can be hard to find especially on a beautiful day. I highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Yelp
Fresh quality seafood in a modern but unfussy setting. The happy hour is every day not just the weekend but most of the items are still over 10 dollars. The oyster do go from $2.5 to $1.5 but there is a limit of six person person. We ended up chance eating at the bar during happy hour on a weekend. We got the seafood tower, crab cakes and a dozen oysters. We've been trying out every seafood tower in Vancouver since I realized the French spouse somehow had never heard of them. This was our sixth one and it was the first the was only cooked seafood. At 76 it was a generous amount of food, with probably a pound of mussels and close to that of clams. there was also 4 baked oysters, 2 scallops, 2 shrimp, two small lobster tails, a fritto misto and two king crab legs split. The only disappointing thing was the crab legs which were overcooked a bit and bland. But everything else was cooked beautifully. We ordered the crab cakes off the happy hour menu and found them dryer than we prefer and would not order them again. The oysters were local and beautiful, briny but not as much as East Coast oyster but no where near as sweet as a kusshi or marin miyagi. We were told we had 90 minutes for our meal at the bar but it took less time than that, I didn't feel rushed and was happy to not have to wait for food. The drink menu looked nice but we stuck to non-alcoholic cocktails and they were good and a large size. Plan on spending at least 30 per person here even if it's happy hour and you want a full meal and being very happy with the food. I would suggest doing reservation which they have even for the bar. Will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Yelp
My husband and I went to celebrate my Birthday on Saturday (noted on reservation). We ordered the seafood tower which got fumbled by server and we lost one prawn and my husband ended up with a lap full of coarse salt. The server left the top of the tower in shambles and after a quick apology, she headed back to serving others. The prawn was not replaced. The quality of the tower was mediocre. The lobster was overcooked, the crab legs had no crackers to open them, the scallops and mussels were the stars. We also split the paiella which was also quite bland and rice was random textures. Some overcooked, some under. The people beside us were now speaking to the chef regarding the substandard lobster mac and cheese. As the end of the meal approached, we hoped for a complimentary glass of wine or a desert, but nothing was offered, nor was there a discount on the bill. We paid $220 and my husband was gracious enough to tip 10%. Sad to say, we won't be back any time soon.

Yelp
Fresh oysters, strong cocktails, and a great Caesar salad. The crab cake special was also really delicious. Great place to have a relaxed yet elegant meal, and a quick walk from the ferry!

Yelp
Excellent service and wonderful food. Highly recommended in the North Store. Perfect for a romantic dinner

Yelp
First time coming here and so happy we came... and we were even more happy to get here early enough to try their fantastic happy hour. So we tried their crab cakes. Lots of meat without a lot of filler which was a good start. Tartar sauce was nice and tangy just like the way I like it. We then had the oysters. Nice and fresh! Not fishy at all and would definitely order more next time. Their calamari was solid although I think it could have used a touch more seasoning. And of course we had to have their fish and chips. Definitely very well done and super fresh. Almost forgot, had their lemon drop which was a nice start to the meal. Will definitely come back here again when I'm in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Came here with a couple girlfriends on the first day of dineout for the $35 menu. Ordered the scallop appy and it came with some quinoa chips which were quite interesting. We got some complimentary bread with chickpea dip a couple minutes after we arrived which were refillable (the bread only I believe). Service was great and our waiter (forgot his name) was especially attentive. The scallops were cooked perfectly and I saved one for last because it was so juicy. Two of my friends got the Dungeness crab soup which had a hit of wasabi flavoring that wasn't described on the menu, which they weren't too excited about. For the mains we all got the sablefish since our server mentioned it would be the best value when I asked which one he recommended. The fish was so flaky I couldn't get enough, but didn't care too much for the salad. The mash two of us got looked and tasted a little different. For dessert, we all got the ice cream which tasted delicious and was a very refreshing end to our meal.

Yelp
First time here the other day and it did not disappoint, happy hour leading to our scheduled dinner for a large party, staff was accommodating, we felt welcomed and noticed, of course the seafood was tremendous, and those oysters, wow!

Yelp
We love, the food and service has always been good and it does have a nice ambience! It's our go to restaurant when we have friends in town!

Yelp
I came here during Dine Out upon a friend's recommendation. Unfortunately, I came away very disappointed in my meal, especially as I chose this restaurant among all the other fantastic ones that I feel I would have had a better experience. Fishworks featured a $35 dine out menu. The seared scallops with popcorn & cauliflower puree, quinoa soil was fine. The scallops were cooked nicely, but a little too salty for me. The quinoa soil was unpleasant - too chewy, a little bitter, and the quinoa stuck in between my teeth. The main was the sablefish with golden beet sesame emulsion, pickled butternut squash, frisee & shaved fennel. The sablefish was quite tender, but had many bones and had no taste. I thought it was a bit lazy that the main and the appetizer shared the same salad. For dessert, I chose the Bastani Sonnati, an Iranian ice cream. It had an interesting taste and the pistachio flavour shown through. My partner had white chocolate cheesecake raspberry coulis and we both found the graham cracker crust to be too thick and hard to break apart. The service and the ambience of the restaurant was fair. I didn't quite like that our bill was provided to us without prompt. Our water was refilled often and the service was polite. Overall, I don't think I will come here again, but now I know what my friend's taste and palate are like so I'll take his recommendations with a pinch of salt!

Cstherine A.

Yelp
Fish and seafood always fresh and consistently well cooked. The service is usually quick and the ambiance is clean lined, if not warm and cozy.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Wait a seafood restaurant that's only $$ on yelp. That can't be must be a mistake. Well it's reasonably priced but not sure it's $$. Low $$$ maybe. I dropped in for a late lunch and ordered the chowder (chunky good and large) and the salmon. I always get salmon when I'm in the Pacific Northwest because the salmon we get in the east is Atlantic salmon which is a rubbery bright orange thing. And I love the idea of asking "what kind of salmon is it?" (On this day it was Sockeye.) Well everything was great but the fish. Fish was a bit over cooked and dry. But it still tasted pretty good

Yelp
Kinda actually just stumbled here - no plan of where to eat - yelped this restaurant & said - why not!?! Fishworks was a short walk up from Lonsdale Quay after we arrived off the Seabus. It's been a fantastic Saturday. Started off going to church via Amazing Grace - Aretha Franklins concert movie shot in 1972. I tell you I had goosebumps! Her voice is second to none. Afterwards we walked about on 4th Ave window shopping & settled on going to North Vancouver for dinner. Fishworks has been going for about 9 years strong. We arrived at the right time (5pm) as they were fully booked for the evening. Make reservations if you're planning on coming as it's not a very big restaurant = limited seating & it was full house by 6pm. Our waiter Tom was informative & made great recommendations. We had the Crab Cakes, Scallops, White Sturgeon & Salmon Wellington. The Scallops & Salmon were a big hit! I'm hesitant to order salmon when I'm out (nothing beats BBQing salmon or a seasoned overnight fillet), but the way this dish was prepared was amazing & very delicious! So if you're visiting NorthVan & in the mood for seafood give Fishworks a try. Afterwards take a walk about & enjoy the ever transforming waterfront & shipyards.

Yelp
Top quality food and service at a reasonable price. Fishworks doesn't just stand out amongst North Vancouver, it's a noteworthy restaurant in the lower mainland. We had the seafood tower, oysters, the paella, and steak. The creme brule for dessert and wine that we paired with our food. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was above and beyond from start to finish. Certainly will be back for more. Make a reservation as it gets very busy.

Yelp
This place has a really good selection of food with nice location and nice service. I came here on Sunday afternoon right after my hiking at North Van. We were lucky to get a seat immediately for a group of four at 5pm Sunday. They have a wide range of wine selection so you can pair them with whatever main you are gonna get. Food were really good but I like the lobster mac and cheese the most! The appie bread with chickpeas tomato sauce is pretty different than other places and I highly recommend it! The atmosphere was not too noisy with soft music so you can hear each other well without raising your voice much.

Yelp
Excellent seafood, extremely excellent service! Have to put in a few more words,...highly recommend Fishworks

Brenda S.

Yelp
I meant to try this restaurant for years.. finally.. a seafood loving gf and I went. It was fantastic. We had oysters for apps, mains and wine. I'm not a big eater but I love to try everything so I especially loved that with the bill they brought home made chocolates. That's something that after a great meal really puts a restaurant over the top for me. I wish they posted their happy hour menu/times on their website because I live near this place and saw the sign walking by but I never knew when it was, if they were open at that time or what they had so I never tried it.. I love happy hour because it gives me a chance to sample a restaurant before I decide to go and spend $200 on a 2 person meal w wine.. that way I have a chance to see what it's all about before I make that choice.

Yelp
My Husband & I came here for dinner one weekday. We made reservations online and ended up getting there 1/2 hour earlier as there wasn't any traffic. Luckily they were able to get us in earlier, which meant we were there for happy hour We ordered the following: Shucked Oysters ( Happy Hour Menu) Crab Cakes ( Happy Hour Menu) Scallop risotto Paella The only thing that we weren't a fan of was the scallop risotto, it was a little too salty but aside from that everything else was amazing! The staff were great and the restaurant was Covid friendly!
google avatar

Kay F.

Yelp
We came here for happy hour and certainly were not disappointed. A big highlight were the oysters but I did wish they offered more variety. Mussels were very large and in a delicious broth! Tables were socially distanced for covid. Menus were scanned on our phones with large menu boards also available. Would recommend coming here, especially for happy hour!

Yelp
We will return before going home!!!My husband I went here for dinner on a Thursday night were from N.Calif. The service was excellent clean & the food was amazing we had the Stergion it was a huge portion cooked perfectly presented beautiful. They have several glutten free items marked on there menu..wich I needed. Must try if you want amazing food.

Yelp
We dined here during happy hour and enjoyed an assortment of happy hour specials. We particularly loved the crabcakes and crispy squid & prawns. The shucked oysters were a little small but tasty! The cod & chips were disappointing. The fries were great but the fish & tartar sauce were bland. The atmosphere is very nice & we look forward to returning to try their other seafood dishes!
google avatar

Amy Z.

Yelp
Good happy hour deals! Had my niece with me and they accommodated with crayons and a coloring book! :)
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
So we had a seafood tower tonight at a West Van restaurant called Fishworks. The tower... tasty enough. But we started off with a few other items including a lobster bisque which was the absolute worst tasting soup of my life!Think vanilla bath and body works candle mixed with rice water. A distinct lack of cream, tomato or lobster taste. So awful in fact none of us could choke down this pricey soup which we naively ordered two of. (The server "told the kitchen" I'm not sure how that helps us?) So many other much better value options for restaurants if you're in the area; steer clear friends.
google avatar

K. S.

Yelp
Spot prawns were dreadful; way over cooked or old frozen or likely both. I didn't want to disrupt the table conversation to take a picture but should have as I was in disbelief when the plate was put down and the texture/taste was even worse. Even one else enjoyed their meal, so might consider going back, but unlikely as so many other places to get good seafood.

Yelp
Wonderful service as always. Consistently top quality food. North Vancouver favourite for dinner.

John W.

Yelp
Great food, great service and a wonderful experience. It is no longer open for lunch during weekdays so we go there as much as we would like.

Yelp
Service: 10/10! Friendly, quick to cater, socialize well with customers. Everyone that works there are active & roam the floor with pride. Food: 10/10! Their appetizer is unbelievably delicious... Extremely savoury & pleasantly readies your palette with a subtle mix of olive oil & balsamic vinegar with a mild soothing taste of the spread. Pasta - 10/10! Even if not much ingredients are used the level of flavours are actively changing. Layers of experiences in each bite. Oysters: 10/10 Need I say more?? Cocktail shooters of the ocean is the only way to describe them.

Yelp
Great dinner starting with the freshest seafood platter followed by delightful lobsta bisque and flavorful bouillibaiseand we couldn't make room for dessert but enjoyed their homemade truffles - perfect finish they also offer nice focaccia bread with chickpea and sesame oil - nice flavors!

Alexander P.

Yelp
Friendly service. Delicious fish dishes. Great options for the whole family. I'll be back.

Yelp
Shared the Wellington, poutine and Scallop Risotto, all were so delicious! Risotto was my favourite. Great wine pairing, the Cassini Pino Noir was lovely. These fish shaped chocolate truffles were a great ending to the eating. Will definitely be coming back again.
