Just eaten their Christmas menu - a truly delicious and beautifully prepared sea bream and profiterole desert. The waiter was attentive, gentle and so very welcoming. I can’t recommend it enough. I hope your experience is as good. Happy Sunday.

Amazing restaurant! I rarely submit reviews but I cannot help doing so with this restaurant. Very fresh and fine seafood.

It was my first visit in 8 years since 2017, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. This cozy restaurant has a great atmosphere and is the perfect place to enjoy a clean, seafood-focused meal when you're feeling a bit tired of meat dishes. The mussel stew, prawn dishes, and bread were all delicious. The wine list was also quite impressive. I’ll definitely visit again on my next trip to London!

FishWorks on Marylebone High Street is such a gem. The quality of the fish is consistently excellent, but what really makes this place special is the people. All the staff are always friendly and genuinely helpful, and Benny in particular always goes above and beyond. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and takes the time to guide you, make recommendations, and explain what’s best depending on what you’re cooking. Nothing ever feels rushed or transactional. It really feels like a proper community fishmonger — warm, welcoming, and personal. Popping in there is always a pleasure, and you leave feeling well looked after and confident in what you’re buying. Amazing produce, brilliant service, and such a lovely part of the Marylebone High Street community. Highly recommend.

Came here for my beautiful partners birthday and what a lush time at this restaurant, service was 5* and the food was superb. Oysters were amazing. Will defo recommend and 100% be back to sample some more of the lovey menu

Even though the place was quite empty it took forever to get our food. The salmon and halibut were very nice. The panna cotta...well I wouldn't call that a dessert. It was very, very bitter! The waitress and all the staff were very lovely

Best Fish & Chips ever, the batter had amazing flavor, great tartare sauce, yummy fries but the mushy peas were just ok. We also tried the Bouillabaise and it was outstanding

Oh yes, this was gorgeous 😍 I had in the past never tried oysters, but I really enjoyed this occasion. The oysters were really nice and flavoursome, as well as cool. Thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. I seriously can't fault anything here. So hey, this is my new go-to monthly treat! Update 03 June 2025 Still giving the best food and service possible.

Day three in London. It seems all three of us love seafood. We ended up here as it was close to our hotel. The recommendations were also quite good. Mo got his favorite Sea Bass. B and I got the Sea Food Combination. It is a magnicent specimen to behold (wait till you see the pic). Says it's for two but easily three with an appetizer could work. Speaking of appetizers we had some and they were good. I got the soup. The other two apps loooked amazing and they loved it. Check out the pics.

Great service! Thanks to Adrian who served us with great customer service. He was very caring and making sure we were happy. We ordered mackerel patte for the starter, it was their special of the day. It was very smooth. I had dinner for mussels which was perfectly seasoned. The restaurant was very cosy and cute atmosphere. I was there two years ago. I had great dinner then so I went back with my friends. They have pistachios gelato which is a killer dessert. I think they make their own maybe I'm wrong....

A very nice atmosphere. They also are a fishmonger so you could see the fresh fish. We came in the afternoon after a show a few blocks away. The service was excellent. we ordered scallops and bread as appetizers and were both delicious. The halibut fish and chips and tuna entree were ok, but not our favorites.

Service - 9/10 Friendly staff, well informed with the menu. Service was great. Food overall - 7/10 My favorite dish was the Tuna Carpaccio. The Asian inspired dish brought a nice blend of tang and umami with the soy base and topped mango. I also recommend the fish and chip. Can't go wrong with the Halibut or Cod. The other dishes were good. Seafoods fresh. My only issue was the minimal use of spices in the bouillabaisse and flavors from the condiment to elevate the seafood platter.

Our best meal in London this week after trying Lebanese, Greek, Irish, Italian and the traditional fish and chips. We both ordered the grilled seafood platter. The scallops were delicious in the white wine sauce. Two fillets of sea bass and sea bream and garlic prawns were very tender and perfectly seasoned. My apple crumble dessert needs some work. An Argentinian malbec did the rest. The service was very professional. Looking forward to a second try at Fishworks.

This place was fun. A glass of Prosecco or pinot noir while slowly working your way through a shellfish tower (me) or grilled seafood platter (my husband) is a delightful way of spending the lunch hour. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere is both quaint and lively.

Great mussels！ The front is a bit smelly. The behind is a cozy restaurant. The service is good, and the dessert is even better, esp the coffee pana cota.

During our first night in London, we were looking for a fish and chips restaurant that wasn't in the typical pub. We were very happy that we came across Fishworks! Not only was it walking distance from the place we were staying at, it had such incredible food! What We Ordered 1. Sparkling Water 2. Two Course Meal. This is a must try! You have the opportunity to choose from 4 starters and 5 entrees and it is only 18 pounds! We chose the Brixham Fish Soup (4 stars) and the Fish and Chips (5 stars) as our main course. They were both incredibly delicious! My husband and I are from Los Angeles, so when you compare the fish and chips from London and LA, it doesn't even compare. The fish was tasty, moist and perfectly battered! 3. Dessert: Zesty Lemon Tart (5 stars) If I had the space to eat two, I would have. The combination of the lemon tart with the raspberry sorbet was a perfect match! 4. Dessert: Sticky Chocolate Brownie (4 stars) It was good, but not as good as their Zesty Lemon Tart. Overall, I would give this place 5 stars for the ambiance, quality of food, customer service, experience and location! If you are visiting London and are looking for an A++ fish and chips place, look no further! They also have a great selection of other fish, which you will see when you first walk into their establishment. They also have a good wine selection for those looking for a place to wind down and relax at a classy and well decorated restaurant!

A quaint restaurant in a nice part of town. Wasnt hungry but had craving for soup. I ordered their fish soup and a glass of 2015 Chablis, the soup came with two pieces of croutons. The fish soup was extremely tasty with a rich seafood taste and the croutons were just perfectly prepared. The service was very good and maître'd was very nice. It is amazing they managed to have a fishmonger at the front of the store and each time I passed by I was tempted to try their fresh collection. All in all, a great place and definitely recommend for a next visit with their large selection in their menu! Two thumbs up!

I am a bit torn: if I could, I would give Fishworks 3.5 stars. Fishworks is hidden behind a fish monger, smack in the middle of Marylebone High Street, which is one of my favorite areas of London. When I came here on a Sunday during lunch time, the place was deserted, typically an empty restaurant is a bad sign but I was craving some decent seafood so I went for it anyways. I ordered the Dressed Devon Crab which was amazing, I truly enjoyed the dish, the crab was delicious. I did not regret walking in at all! However the reason I am hesitant about a fourth star is that I didn't really warm up to the service. Obviously since it was crab I was paying a decent amount of money so I expect good service. I found that the staff was distant and not friendly at all - despite the restaurant being empty. It definitely spoiled the atmosphere and overall experience. Were they maybe annoyed that I interrupted their paid leisure time since the restaurant was empty? In any case, I was in a good mood as I enjoyed the food and overall they did what I needed so I guess it wasn't too bad but I just expect a bit more hospitality at this price point. Summary: Great seafood... I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and try again.

We just had an excellent meal here. Had the Seafood Bouillabaisse and it was fantastic. Great presentation in a copper pot, seafood was so fresh and the broth was amazing. Best I've had in years. We also had the fish and chips, very good. Fish was really great. The staff was so professional and friendly . Highly recommend.

Very solid eatery, with truly great fish soup--had a bowl last night and came back today for lunch and had another---YUM! Wife had the lobster thermadore (a bit undersized and not quite cheesy enough), my fish 'n chips were very good. Fair prices for this upscale area!!

Should be called "Fresh" Fishworks since their fish is so fresh they could still be swimming. Nice service, well timed, no promotion, dinner prices are very reasonable and include tax and all service charges. We both had the Dover sole, perfectly done with a minimum of fussiness (I.e. no special sauce, served bone-in etc). Will return!

The staff were very polite, but the services was incredibly slow. I had the scallops as a starter, wonderful! For an entree was the lobster thermidor, it was alright. The sauce lacked the rich texture expected and the meat was fairly tough to chew. The restaurant is very tight and they place high top tables next to the bar- if you are unfortunate to be sat there, most of your meal will consist of bumping and standing to let servers and clients alike pass.

We had just returned to London from a weekend in Paris and were in the mood for Fish & Chips. This restaurant showed up on Yelp, near our hotel, and with good reviews, (except for the review from the lady who arrived an hour before they opened and was unhappy that they wouldn't serve her in spite of the fact that the staff wasn't due in for another hour. If she had just told them that she was the Queen of England they might have rustled something up.) Anyway, we enjoyed the best Fish & Chips that we have ever had, fresh fish, hot, and delicious. The staff was helpful and courteous. I suggest getting there before 6 for a few specials including the Fish & Chips, but don't arrive before they open at 5.

Took the fish&chips for takeaway. Piping hot, lightly battered large piece of fresh cod. Yum! And for £10...quite a deal for probably the best I've had! They have a nice 2 and 3 course early dinner menu that looked interesting, but i did not have time to try it.

Was looking for the Mayfair Chippy and stumbled in here due to the rain. I was hankering for fish and chips and did not leave disappointed. Fish and chips here is a bit more gourmet. The quality of the fish here is excellent (they have a fish monger on premises) and the end product is nicely textured and flaky without being oily. The side of mint sauce was a nice touch and goes down much better than tarter sauce. Would definitely come back next time I'm in London.

Beautifully decorated and excellent food. Our party had a range of menu items from: seared tuna steak, to delicious cod, to the stew and tried-and-true fish and chips, all was delicious. The wine selection was excellent as well, as was the service. Great option for seafood lovers for lunch and likely for dinner as well.

Quite a lovely restaurant. I really like that they have the fishmonger at the front and then towards the back is the restaurant itself. They had a very delicious yellowfin tuna dish, and the grilled seabass was beautifully seasoned. The location is also in a very nice place- right off of Marylebone high street. We had the au gratin/scalloped potato dish as a side and man that baby is rich! Yummy though :)

The Golden Hind remains my Marylebone chippy of choice but for a posh rendition of fish and chips Fishworks Seafood Cafe does the trick. The fish is lightly breaded and lovingly fried, the chunky chips come in a tin pail and the mushy peas ans tartar are top notch. Four of us had Fishworks for lunch and were able to book a table and get in and out in about an hour.

It was good. It wasn't excellent, it didn't surpass my expectations, but it was good. The scallop starter, though, was excellent and did surpass my expectations. I came here last night with a party of four, happy to see that the front of the shop is a fishmonger, and the fish is all incredibly fresh. We started with scallops and the greek salad - the scallops, as I said, were great. For mains, we had lobster linguine, crab bisque special, fish & chips, and the cod special. The linguine was good, I just didn't like that there was so little lobster (and what lobster there was, was in tiny chunks). I was hoping for something meatier, especially from half a lobster. The crab bisque, too, was good but slightly disappointing because it wasn't what we expected. It was less of a bisque and more of a broth, and it was a bit spicy. The fish and chips were very good, especially the batter along the edges. It had the age-old problem of the middle being a bit soft and mushy, though. The cod was probably the best meal of the night, cooked simply and well, and a nice portion. The carrot side was very nice, too - honey roasted carrots with cumin. A bit nitpicky, but the bathrooms were a bit creepy and quite smelly. It's the smelly part that was a turn off, I'm not blaming them for the architecture that puts the bathrooms down stairs and down a further corridor.

Amazing good. Nice little spot with great food and service. We ordered the platter for two and were very satisfied. If you like fish this place is highly recommended.

Great service and waiters were very professional and friendly in explaining the signature dishes and choice of today . The wish was mamamia and was done very well. Highly recommended and with great company , it will definitely be a great night out.

What a lovely surprise! Hidden behind the fishmonger's storefront, this gem of a place is just waiting to make you a fan! Lobster Thermidor -YUM! Fish and Chips -Divine! The setting is intimate and food is superb. Wine was excellent and desserts oh so tasty! Wish we had a place like this here in Key West!

Almost missed this place because they sell fresh fish just before the restaurant door. The cod special with a leek sauce was excellent. The lemon tart dessert was delicious too!! We can recommend this place! Also, there are two Pokestops here!

Situated on Marylebone's busy High Street, to the passer by, FishWorks Seafood Café Marylebone could be mistaken for just an exceptionally well-stocked fishmongers. Yet venture further inside and you'll find a cosy little restaurant hiding at the back. FishWorks emphasise the importance of seasonal and local produce adding the chain (there are eleven in total across London and the South West) to London's array of self-aware eateries. With growing concerns over depleting natural fish stocks FishWorks decision to offer special landings whilst adhering to a policy of avoiding certain fish during breeding periods is not only fantastically ethically aware, but coincidently the choice throws up a continually updated and interesting menu. Although unfortunately the lobster, oysters and sea bass were all a little surprisingly off the menu by the time of our 8pm booking, this was soon forgotten as the knowledgeable waiter suggested alternatives, detailing particulars for those who don't know their Fruits de Mer from their fish finger. We settled on the 'Mixed Seafood' and 'Shellfish Grill' and the 'Swordfish Milanese with Fennel' from the classic rather than overly adventurous menu. Simple desserts are just as tasty with fresh fruit flavours prevailing, from Lemon Tart to Eton Mess. A thoughtful and extensive selection of wines really is the icing on the cake, with a decent selection served by the glass or half bottle, beginning at £5.95 for a large glass and £15.95 a bottle. Overall, mouth watering food and impeccable service made the experience effortlessly enjoyable proving that the expanding FishWorks chain continue to successfully nurture a sustainable ethos and understanding of what one would expect from 'fresh fish', 'the catch of the day' and other such terms, which are unfortunately concepts often lost at sea for many fish restaurants of a similar price tag.

This little restaurant, tucked behind a little fish shop in Marylebone, was a great find. We were in search of a fish and chip lunch and had nothing against going a bit fancy. Adrian had the fish and chips with mushy peas and I had a salmon filet with lemon crushed peas. It might not sound so exciting but maybe you know the feeling when you get really good, really fresh fish: it's just not necessary to have it very fancy. This was awesome. There were many more things on their menu that I would have liked to try. They all sounded great. Next time...

A so-so experience. I enjoyed the food, but got a rather intense digestive post-dining experience out of it. I'll spare you the details, but there you are. Oysters were excellent. Also, the fish and chips my boyfriend ordered were A-grade, and far above the usual (at thrice the price of usual pub fare, they should be). My Ahi tuna was (what else) Ahi tuna. Tasted like sesame seeds and soy sauce, which, surprisingly, is what it was dressed with. Shocking, yeah? Anyhow, I did enjoy the meal, although next time, I'll come with Immodium in hand (and mouth, for that matter).

Well I am afraid we did not eat here as we were told they would not open until 5pm and we arrived at 4pm. Another patron said he had never heard of such a thing and when I asked a different person if I could leave my name for when we come back at 5pm she said they are open all day long. But the other person whom originally told us we could not be served shook his head at her. So she explained that in special circumstances they close in the afternoon. Well I was not sure if the special circumstance was that I was American or perhaps that I was wearing blue jeans. But I will not be going back as a result.

The only fish fresher is at the end of a hook. Extraordinary food, stupendous service and atmosphere galore.

Food was generally very good. It is a bit pricey, but I didn't pay for the meal so I can't really complain about that. I liked the fish that I ordered. I tried the whitefish and other fishes my relatives ordered and I also liked them very much. The service is also very good. The waitress was very attentive and super nice. This restaurant was as good as I expected but it didn't absolutely blow me away. For that I'm giving it 4 stars.

Dinner w. Corina & P. 3.10.10 I love the entrance...it's odd but it's nice to know where your seafood is coming from! Just stand outside and look at how fresh it is! Decor inside = simple, dimly lit, quaint. Small. Service = friendly and efficient. I did not like the upselling though. Very, very pushy...alcohol, sides, appetizers. You name it. Food = good. Crabcakes = delicious. Small but jam-packed of REAL CRAB!! Bread with butter and pesto-like sauce was delicious. I was not happy with their sampler though... the seafood was marinated in very tart marinade of sorts, that the seafood was barely recognizeable, and the small shrimp salad...I have no idea what to even think about that, still! Nonetheless, for entree, I had the fish-and-chips, my first and only order of 'em in England! Fish was delicious, plenty of fish and not too much on the breading. Chips were okay, but they tasted a bit overdone. But otherwise I was pretty happy. Oh and their mashed peas were delicious and unexpected! B's tuna steak was delicious, fresh and just filling! The panfried haddock was the envy of the table...great smell, great color, and just so savory and flaky! Prices = reasonable for such fresh seafood!

Catch your fish and eat it too, literally! There is a fish market area in the front where there's fresh fish on the ice and a restaurant in the back. This place is a far cry from the typical fish and chips shop. As soon as you step inside, you'll realize the place seems familiar. Perhaps because it's reminiscent of a sea side seafood house. They serve a delicious organic salmon fillet. Along with fresh fish, they sell a ton of shrimp, shellfish and prawns. There's also a seafood club that you can join that will offer you perks such as 10% off. If you want to learn the ways of cooking fish properly, they offer classes in The Fish Works Cookery school. Little, intimate, fun restaurant with good service and delicious food. Small, but good, selection of oysters kicked off the meal. I tried the lobster, which was LOVELY (and very reasonably priced), and my friend tried fish and chips (which were done perfectly). The service and the ambience contributed to a pleasant dinner and I hope to return.

I bought a crab from the fish monger there. He could not have been more helpful, answering all my questions with detailed knowledge and experience I have never experienced elsewhere. He really cared and answered what for him were probably very basic questions, but for me really useful. As a result I put it above all other sea food vendors and they have won my loyalty.

Food: We ordered the crab toast to share, the dover sole, fish and chips, seafood soup, side of mash and a trio of sorbets. Everyone liked their dishes. The dover sole was the best of the three. Drinks: We ordered three bellinis. Price: For three people we paid 122.21 GBP. Ambiance: The restaurant is comfortable and neighbourhood friendly. Service: The service was good. Shop: If you're looking to buy good seafood they have a shop in the front. It's expensive, but the seafood is fresh and the guys are very knowledgable and helpful. Would I go back? Yes, but not too often because it is pricey.

Very fresh fish! Excellent customer service. Appetizers through entrees have clean and inspiring presentations. Every dish served is photo ready for foodies, but then the real treat -- enjoying the meal. Well balanced flavors, and lots of care had been spent to making sure everything is fresh, Fresh, FRESH!! Definitely go back.

I very rarely write a 5 star review and save them for places like this. Arrived via TopTable. First piece of advice: don't bother - it's a poor substitute for the a la carte menu. The one proviso is that you must love fish. I noticed a steak for non fish lovers but not sure how true vegetarians would fare. We had a mixed shellfish starter to share - lovely - and had fish and chips and swordfish each for mains. Delicious. Very non fussy service and good wine list - what's to fault? Unless you hate fish...

Went for a late lunch at Fish Works on Sunday. A sunny weekend is definitely the perfect time to experience the quintessentially English, village feel of Marylebone high street. All chic boutiques and pavement cafes crowded with pretty young things. Heading into the restaurant the first thing you notice are the gorgeous, high piles of fish and crustacea by the entrance. Sadly they are also the first things you smell. Although striking, there is something unpleasant about walking through a pungent cloud of fish to get to your table. Would totally recommend booking through top table as there is currently a spectacular offer on the al a carte. All the mains were delicious tuna was perfect, as were garlicky prawns. Sadly sides were disappointing bland spinach and a peculiar side salad drenched in oil. Also, inattentive service marred the experience somewhat. No one manning front of house meant we had to walk to the back to find someone to seat us, and I practically had to rugby tackle a waiter to order desert and a coffee. However, would still recommend as the food definitely makes up for it. If you like fish.

Fish is good. Sides not so much. Lady with curly long hair has a bad attitude problem and always gives issues when she's there. Wish menu was updated.

Fantastic, very fresh fish, in fact the front of the restaurant is a fishmonger! The menu selection was excellent, something to please everyone, even my daughter. Although the menu first seemed expensive, our final tab was actually quite reasonable for this London location considering we had cocktails and wine. Definite repeat. The fish is fresh and the compositions are exquisite.

I went there with high expectations, and the food was good, but I'm not sure if I would go there again. I made a reservation for 9 people by phone, and asked if we would have to leave the place by certain time and the staff said no. But after we arrived, one of the staffs told us that our table is only booked for 2hrs. The table was really small so one of us had to sit between tables... Besides, we ordered fresh raw oysters but the waiter didn't take the order - and then it took time to confirm if we can get oysters or not we wasted the 2hr limit. In the end, we each ordered fish or meat plate. But that's it. We wanted to enjoy the time more without any rush. All the grilled fishes were good. But to be fair I felt they were a little pricey.

We wanted fish and chips and the Golden Hind did not open until dinner, bummer. Anyway, we came here. Take away fish & chips was £10, but when ordering inside it was £15. As tourists, we really didn't have a place to take our 'take away' to and it was a bit rainy to try and find a park. But it was fine, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.

Loved this place. I went there with my girlfriend for dinner and had a two course meal. As a bit of a foodie I must say it was a really good. We started with the fish soup and the smoked salmon. The soup was great and we really liked the little grill cheese toasters on the side for dipping. The smoked salmon was really nice with a generous helping of capers and bread, nothing too outstanding though. For the mains we had fish and chips and the seared tuna. We loved the fish and chips, especially the tartar sauce served with it. The tuna however wasn't to my liking as it was wrapped in a thick layer of pepper which overcame the delicious taste of fresh tuna. So all in all, loved it and I would recommend it. The portions are generous and the fish is really fresh, just don't expect anything other than simple.

A lot of fish, as expected. They have a fish monger in the front who I usually buy from, which also means that the fish you get in the restaurant is extremely fresh.

Enthusiastic and friendly greeting by host on arrival, with whom we had an amusing exchange as to what was covered by 50% off meal deal. Otherwise wait staff were efficient if not hugely personable. Prawn cocktail (starter) - Acceptable, neither bad nor mind-blowing. Skipper's Ocean Grill (main) - Sea Bass and Sea Bream completely over-cooked and as a result did not flake but instead resembled mush / paste. Prawns were also over-cooked and were also overly soft in their consistence. Hand-Dived solitary grilled scallop was only saving grace of whole dish. 21 Day Matured Sirloin of Beef (main) - Ordered due to not being in the mood for seafood, aware that it could be slightly risky ordering meat in a seafood restaurant. What I was subsequently served surpassed all expectations, in the worst possibly way. Requested medium rare, served a cut of beef that was over-cooked even if you had ordered it well done. The beef was one of toughest cuts I've ever had, and even if they would have given me a meat cleaver with my fork it would have still been a struggle to make headway. Poor quality in general, completely ruined by the seafood being totally over-cooked and a cut of beef not fit for human consumption. One star is for the passable prawn cocktail and the one solitary scallop.
