What a stunning historic hotel! My wife and I stayed for the weekend and everything was wonderful. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and the rooms were beautiful! Make sure to get a lake view if you can! There are a bunch of ships and places to eat, so there is plenty to do. We will definitely be coming back, thank you!

FItger's Inn is a lovely, unique hotel that's centrally located. Its rooms are quiet and luxurious feeling, with a variety of layouts and views to choose from. I've been returning to Fitger's Inn for over 20 years whenever we stay in Duluth. They serve freshly brewed (and good tasting) coffee with real half and half in the morning, along with fruit or muffins. If you need more for breakfast, the Boathouse restaurant immediately downstairs serves delicious meals or you can choose room service. Fitger's has remodeled at least a couple times during the years we've been staying and keeps their rooms in good repair.

Management reserved us a perfect room. Earlier in the week we stayed at an Odyssey property and the room with a great lake view that we were promised had a great view of a parking lot and a tree. So I always trust Fitger’s to come through for me and all whom I recommend.

Google
A very beautiful hotel in a historic brewery. When you stay here you are staying in a bit of history. Our room was a double King Dulex (Handicapped) room. We had a nice view of the lake however the window was fairly small. The room, being a handicapped room, included a large shower but no tub. My wife enjoys relaxing in a bath so it was disappointing that a tub was not available. The room was very clean and nice but still what one would find in a lesser priced room. We paid 350 per night so definitely were paying for the historical and location aspect which my wife felt was totally worth it. They have free parking in a lot just south of the hotel. The entrance is just past, south, of the Pickwick Restaurant.

This is a fantastic place to stay!! ALL staff members are friendly and attentive. The rooms are well appointed and I really appreciate the Aveda products they have. They also offer free valet parking and coffee and fruit for breakfast. This hotel is obviously operated by someone who is well-versed in the hospitality industry! I already made a reservation for later in the year!! This is definitely our new go-to hotel in Duluth.

Google
We've stayed at Fitger's twice, both great experiences. They have several pet friendly rooms which allowed us to bring our dog along. Beautiful historic building and unique rooms that really add to the experience. Staff is very friendly too. The only breakfast is coffee with some packaged snacks, but the little breakfast room is very nice and overlooks the lake.

It's a good place to stay at an awesome location in Duluth, MN. You are right on the shore of Lake Superior and their is a walk along the shore that takes you into areas where there is other stuff to do (restaurants, tours, etc.). The rooms are cozy. Have a bit of an old school hotel vibe. There is a shuttle that takes you into places in town. The building itself can be kind of a maze. Their is a small strip mall like thing area in the building. The service was good for the most part. The guys that drove the shuttle were great. The one issue we had with service was a girl at the front desk. She just kind of rushed us through checking in and then we kind of got lost from the parking garage to our room. When we asked her any questions she rolled her eyes. That was the only service issue we had.

Google
We ate at the restaurant, the burgers were excellent and the Cherry beer was oh so tasty. Best of all was our waitress who took great care of us even though it was a packed house.😊😊😊

Chris N.

Yelp
Staff very friendly and attentive, clean rooms, free valet, lots of shops in the building.

Timothy J.

Yelp
If you like old school charm with a history then you will certainly enjoy the Fitgers Inn. My grandfather worked there when it was a brewery so I have a strong connection. Scott and his team will make you feel welcome at a great price. The Fitgers Mall has some very nice shops and dining which won't hurt your bank balance. Travel to Duluth, enjoy the lake and lake walk you won't regret the trip.

Kr G.

Yelp
Enjoyed it very much. Lovely old building, beautiful location, excellent service. Walking distance uphill to both hospitals. Shops and bookstore in the basement mall. Right on the shore of Lake Superior.

Nicole A.

Yelp
Lovely place to stay!!! Visited Duluth for the first time over the weekend and was welcomed by a friendly staff who was eager to help. The shuttle is so convenient and will take you anywhere you need to go after you schedule it, including the airport. The room was very cozy with a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The Inn is right on the lake walk and the 1st floor has local stores including a kitchen store, book store, and a cozy restaurant. I will definitely be staying here each time I visit Duluth!

Yelp
We came during the week when it was cold (for Texans) and rainy. The valet and front desk were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The lobby and room were beautiful and perfect for my history loving wife. We were surprised at the free valet and shuttle service (hotel taxi). We used it the whole 2 times we left. That brings me to the fact the whole complex is worth exploring. They have a good selection of shops and restaurants. Despite my 5 star rating, I will say that some Noises kinda took me by surprise during the night and the yard work in the morning ruined the sound of the waves. I understand that it's an old building and that yard work is necessary, but it's worth mentioning for those who might read this review. I was a little worried after reading a few of the older reviews but it seems they really took criticism seriously and improved greatly.

Yelp
Fabulous time in Duluth! Stayed in an elegant penthouse at Fitger's, and appreciated the spaciousness and cleanliness of the suite. The hotel elevators do not go up to the penthouse suites, so we had to take a small set of stairs up there. The young crew carried all of our bags/stroller up there and placed them according to our requests. They were so incredibly kind and welcoming. We dined at the Boat Dock downstairs the first night, and it was OK. We tried their hotel coffee, and dumped it for a better cup up the street. Service, room cleanliness, and location: 5+++

Yelp
I stayed at the Fitger's Inn for two nights on a recent weekend to Duluth and really enjoyed everything that the hotel had to offer. The room (whirlpool suite) was clean, spacious and comfortable. This place really has a lot going for it: - Clean hotel (this was during Covid) - Friendly staff - Comfortable room - Multiple restaurants (Boat Club and Fitger's Brewery were good, the Mexican restaurant wasn't) and stores all contained within the Fitger's complex - Free parking - Fairly short walk to the rest of downtown and Canal Park Other than a bit of noise from being situated right near highway 35, a skylight that couldn't be covered up when the sun rose at 5 AM and apparently limited hours for housekeeping I had no qualms with my stay. I'd certainly call Fitger's home base on a future trip to Duluth.

Yelp
We wanted somewhere special to stay on our one year wedding anniversary and my husband landed on Fitger's Inn. Despite coming to Duluth my entire life, I've never stayed here. Walking in, it is BEAUTIFUL. Truly an old hotel, the woodwork is gorgeous and there is a tiled skylight that overlooks the lobby. The room we booked was a city side room, but was HUGE. It was right by the elevator, but we didn't find that to be a problem as the only place you could hear it was right inside the door. We loved the exposed stone in the bedroom! Due to the hotel being a older, the AC is not super cold, not a huge deal to us just something to note :) The front desk sent up a bottle of champagne while we were out, which was very nice. We loved that it was close to multiple restaurants and shops. I am very happy we chose to spend our first anniversary here and would definitely stay again!

Yelp
If you want a Historical, special and romantic place, this is it....!!! Hotel personnel make it even greatest...!!!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary for four nights, just returned home yesterday. Our room (king-sized) was spacious and comfortable. Great location: the inn is near the lake walk and lots of cafes. We visited the Yellow Bike Coffee Shop every morning for good coffee; sometimes pastries were available as well. We loved the Bookstore. Very knowledgeable service there, and a great selection of books. The service at Fitger's Inn was fantastic. Everyone was really welcoming and helpful. A special thanks to Josh, who cheerfully helped us daily, and also immediately resolved the one small complaint we had. Thank you! We would definitely return.

Yelp
We had a really nice time staying at Fitger's on our most recent visit to Duluth. We'd been to the building before to visit the brewery and the shops but never stayed in the hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive. They were very helpful throughout our stay. They surprised us upon checkin with some coupons to use in the restaurants/stores in the attached building, which was nice. You certainly can't beat the location and the view is beautiful. We took a walk outside and on the little walking path that runs along the lake, which you should totally do if you stay here! The room was on the small side, but that's what you get in an older hotel. We were on the "first" floor, which is really floor 2, and our room had these kind of odd steel beams running along the ceiling in some places. But that's just an architectural note -- the beams didn't bother us or get in the way. On the plus side, the room had a huge closet for a hotel room, the bathroom was good and the bed was comfy. Bonus points for the cool ipod dock that you could use to charge your ipod and play music in the room. The water pressure in the shower was amazing, but the tub didn't drain very well (I mentioned to the desk staff on our way out and they promised to look at it and thanked me for telling them.) The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about, but it did the job. The coffee was good (mega bonus for having decent coffee). There were bagels, donuts, yogurt, fruit, etc. Juice, water, tea, etc. and that was about it. I had a bagel, which was fine and a couple of cups of coffee. The concierge/valet was great, and overall we were really pleased (free valet parking for hotel guests). We took a city-side room (not lake side) to save money and were still really pleased with everything, including the price. We would definitely come back again.

Yelp
This past week I had the pleasure to stay at Fitgers Inn Duluth's historic lakeside hotel. It's old school decadence, charmed and history mix well with comfort, luxury and excellent service. The hotel located in the Fitgers complex could be a retreat in and of itself. The complex has everything from bars, breweries, shop, and restaurants, to a salon and some of the best views of Duluth harbor and the Lift Bridge. Rates are reasonable. The service is next level, from the doorman, valet, front desk, wait staff, and housekeeping all are professional, and ready and willing to serve. I would recommend for those seeking a true Duluth visit. Located close to the highway getting to any of the other sites, parks, and destinations on the north shore is a breeze. And can we talk about comfort, the beds are a bit of Nirvana especially after a long day of sightseeing and adventures. You sink right in and don't want to leave. Picky about your pillows? They offer a pillow bar for your dreaming needs. Finally don't want to leave Fido home - take him with as they are dog friendly. Next north shore trip considering staying at Fitgers

Yelp
Awesome place! The Inn is clean and the staff is nice. Its in the same building as the brewhouse and the mall too so its so easy to get to everything especially in the winter so you dont have to go outside!! Free wifi, fitness center too!!

Amber W.

Yelp
Was an amazing experience! Love the little shops below! We will be coming back soon and bringing our dog with us before we did not know they were dog friendly. Cannot wait!

Karen K.

Yelp
Gorgeous view, quiet rooms, and excellent service!! We can't say enough about how kind and helpful every member of the staff were during our stay! They cheerfully jumped our car battery when we accidentally left a door ajar on the coldest night of the year. The free shuttle is such a great service. We took it to UMD and the hockey arena. The restaurants had good food and accommodated my food allergy. The menu has gluten free options. Thank you!! We will be back!

Yelp
Fitger's has got to be the classiest hotel I've ever stayed at and the best views bar none. I've stayed there half a dozen times over the last couple years and my experience has never been anything except stellar. The staff at the front desk are always kind and polite and in a genuine feeling way instead of when it feels like people are just reading from a script and trying to get you out of there like I've experienced at chain hotels. When they ask how your stay was it feels like they actually mean it and want to know you had a nice stay instead of being required to ask it. I've stayed in most of the types of rooms ranging from a simple queen bed facing city side to a beautiful king bed suite with a balcony or jacuzzi. The rooms have always been clean, fresh, and comfortable. The literal worst thing I've ever had to deal with in a room was a burned out light bulb that was replaced within minutes of notifying the front desk. The building that the hotel is in is a charming, historic shopping center with many excellent shops and restaurants. If you want to explore other things around the city, it takes maybe 15 minutes to walk into Canal park from the lakewalk or walk two blocks east on Superior Street and you're at the beginning of downtown with even more shops and restaurants. Overall, 10/10 experience every time and whenever I come to Duluth, I make sure to plan my stay around being able to book at Fitger's because I'd rather change my plans to come a different weekend than stay somewhere else. I always look forward to staying there and highly recommend anyone else do the same.

Liz N.

Yelp
We planned a 4-day weekend in Duluth and we are so happy that we found Fitger's Inn. The location is gorgeous, and the hotel itself is charming, clean, and super comfortable. It was so nice to stay in a room that isn't a cookie cutter hotel room, but it still had the amenities that we have grown used to; complimentary Aveda products; super cozy bed, pillows, and linens; desk clerks who were ALWAYS available, and helpful, and really nice; bars and restaurants right on premises....there are so many more things we enjoyed. The views from our room, and the convenient location are a couple more. We will be back! This was the best introduction to the Duluth area we could have imagined.

Vilay W.

Yelp
Loved my stay here. The view of the lake was absolutely beautiful from my room. Stayed in the penthouse suite. Nice and clean, was very comfortable, staff if extremely friendly and helpful, and their shuttle service is extremely convenient. I liked that we were able to valet our vehicle and travel or walk everywhere to explore. Would highly recommend staying here. Very nice building. Lots to do here!

Yelp
Impeccable service If you were to look at my average ratings, you would notice that I don't exactly hand 5-star ratings out like candy. Fitger's Inn went above and beyond during me and my partner's recent New Year's Eve stay. Echoing what others have said, the customer service here is outstanding. From the minute we arrived for check-in until our 5am check-out, every single person with whom we interacted, from the valet to room service was an absolute paragon of good service. My first impression was that of a classy, stately, old-fashioned inn with lots of dark, substantial furniture and furnishing. Check-in was painless and I was pleased with the value of our Lakeside Deluxe Queen - $152 (prepaid). Since we got some coupons to the hotel restaurant and were feeling lazy, we ordered room service which was incredibly delicious and was very timely. When the food arrived, my partner immediately noticed that the cheesecake we had ordered was not there. I called room service to inquire, and they stated that somehow it had somehow been missed, but that we were not charged for it. I said ok, and hung-up. Not five minutes later, in the midst of tucking into the delicious Reuben sliders, we heard a knock at the door. Our room service hostess was back with a complimentary slice of cheesecake and profuse apologies over the mix-up (like you need any when you show up with delicious cheesecake!). The total for our meal (with the $20 coupons) came to under $30, which was a great value. True, the room decor is a bit dated, but clean never goes out of style. Our room was quiet, the bed was soft, and I appreciated the Aveda toiletries - even the soap was an almost full-size bar, none of that dinky chip of soap like most places. This is a bar of soap worth saving and using for the next month. We had to check-out early the next morning, and the complimentary continental breakfast offered a wide variety of breakfast foods and snacks and was definitely better than average. Check-out was just as painless as check-in and I was happy to be able to print-out my flight tickets at the computer conveniently located in the lobby. There are so few places that offer true hospitality, and Fitger's Inn far exceeded my expectations and was an amazing value for the money. I strongly recommend this hotel, it is well worth your time and money.

Greg B.

Yelp
Paid nearly $300 for a lake-front room that turned out to be very cramped. Air conditioning did not work and windows were sealed shut so we were nearly stifled on a hot summer night. Rooms would be tons better if there were balconies--or if you could even open the windows for a cooling lake breeze! We called the front desk and they promptly sent us a friendly maintenance guy and his fix did help but not very much. And for $300 I would expect a damb good breakfast but it was the bare minimum. Other than that the hotel has a very nice historic lobby featuring images of Gambrinus and Fitger's memorabilia.

Tim M.

Yelp
We had a great time at the Fitzger Inn on 6/10/2021. The food and service was great. Duluth is awesome.

Ellen C.

Yelp
Love this place! The location is superb - it's close enough to other restaurants and shops on Superior Street that you can easily walk around and enjoy, and it's far enough that you don't get bothered by any noise. They're also attached to a small mall of sorts that has the Fitger's Brewery, the Red Star Lounge, and a few other stores including clothing stores, outfitter stores, souvenir stores, wine shop. Although on Fitger's website it says that the brewery has tours every Saturday 3 and 4pm, it's actually been changed to 2 and 3:30pm on Saturdays. Make sure to visit the Fitger's Brewery website to confirm hours. The staff is super friendly here, from the doormen, the bellmen, to the front desk people. You get complimentary valet parking and there is a small parking lot that says "permit parking only" to the left of the hotel that is free and doesn't actually require permit, just let the front desk know so they can write down your license plate. The place has free wifi and free continental breakfast (can't vouch for that since I didn't eat any). They have a generous check out time of noon, unlike so many other "modern" inns that require check out at 11am - that hour makes a difference! Their location is phenomenal - in addition to being close to everything, you can walk right outside and go for a stroll around Lake Superior. They didn't even tell us that we would have a partial lake view like it was no big deal, but it was beautiful. Rooms have high ceilings. They're a bit on the smaller side but they have everything you could possibly need and is well laid out. Things are a bit dated but everything works like a charm and they have some great products including Aveda body products. The S.O. does say that not all the rooms are small though, we just got one of the cheaper rooms which is smaller. I don't know if this is normal but they also gave $10 off $20 vouchers for Midi (not sure about the name), the restaurant that is attached to the hotel downstairs. We didn't eat there so we don't have any info about it. The lobby is a good, modest size. If you're looking for ultra-modern and 21st century chic you're probably not going to get it here. But if you're looking for a little piece of history and like vintage styles, you'll love this place. I believe it was a brewery and was converted into an inn. You can definitely feel the charm.

Trevor T.

Yelp
Great hotel on the shore of Lake Superior. I've stayed here twice now on business and have been impressed both times. The first stay I had a view of the lake from my 3rd floor room. The second stay I had a view of the city from my 4th floor room. The rooms are very neat and tidy. I had a king-size bed both times. They have tv with full cable, a desk and free high-speed Internet (wired and wireless). It's quaint that they give you an actual key to open the door, not a magnetic key card like most modern hotels do today. The service is great, the staff is friendly, the fitness room (on the 1st floor) has free weights, treadmills and step machines. Plus there is a "mall" attached to the hotel with 3 restaurants and some shops. A parking garage is located right next to the hotel. A walking path is steps away from the hotel and lets you exercise next to the lake.

Jim R.

Yelp
Classic waterfront hotel in downtown Duluth offers great service in a nice setting. I had stayed there a few times over the years and must say it hasn't changes much. Service is a distinguishing factor here - in fact they offer free valet parking, just pull up to the front door on Superior street. It is also nice that they are attached to a quaint shopping mall with a number of quality stores including wine store, kitchen store, outdoor store, book store and several others. Our room was on the 4th floor (one long flight of stairs above the lobby which is considered the 2nd floor) and was roomy with a king bed and a large sitting area. As an older hotel, the bathroom was on the older side and the hotel could probably due with a little upgrading here and there but we found it comfortable for our one night stay in May. Wish we would have spent a little more for the lake superior view - rooms across the hall.

Curtis S.

Yelp
Beautiful room, great staff, overall outstanding place to stay. We are from San Diego and happened to be in Duluth on our 40th anniversary due to a wedding and other family visits. Of course, we had planned a much different venue for our anniversary, but wouldn't have changed a thing. Everything was outstanding/perfect. First, we were upgraded to a Penthouse and found a bottle of champagne awaiting us - then, the view of Lake Superior, quality of the room, etc., etc. I don't know if this is a review or just a really heartfelt "THANK YOU!" We are already recommending your place to others and can't wait to visit again.

Matt E.

Yelp
I just returned from my first visit to Duluth. The Fitger's Inn is a spectacular place to stay. The facility is very well maintained and the views are breathtaking. If you are a beer enthusiast, I would place Fitger's Inn at the top of your list if you are visiting the area. The rooms were large clean and comfortable the the expected panache of a high-end hotel room. We were particularly impressed with the "pillow menu" that allowed you to select pillows of differing support for your stay We stayed on the lakeside and thoroughly enjoyed watching the enormous ore-frighters arrive in Duluth Harbor. Wifi was ubiquitous throughout the complex, albeit slow at times. Fitger's strength is the large number of services, shops and restaurant entertainment immediately located in the scenic lakefront complex. I particularly enjoyed the proximity to a large variety of craft beers produced on-site. There was some confusion about the pricing about the room at check-out time and we ended up spending a almost $700 on two-night stay that exceeds what I have spent in upscale hotels in much larger cities. It was highly enjoyable but in departing nothing beyond the view during our stay wowed us to the point where we thought it was worth the expense. Fitger's Inn gets a strong thumbs up, but I would say that Fitger's is destination hotel for those who are looking for something memorable and unique. I am glad I had the opportunity to stay at this historic hotel, and look forward to telling people about it but if I ever return to Duluth I could find similar accommodations nearby at a much more reasonable price.

April P.

Yelp
Beautiful rooms. Very roomy. Love the layout. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Has everything you need. Convenient location too. Lots of shops and restaurants inside the building if you don't feel like going too far from your room.

Sally G.

Yelp
I was hesitant when we looked at pictures online, I thought it was going to be dated and feel dirty. But I enjoyed the look they are going for even though I'm more into clean and modern hotel rooms. The room felt clean (with the exception of the shower). I liked their "pillow menu" and our view of the lake was pretty spectacular. The front desk staff, door man and valet were all friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was nothing to write home about but that's ok since we stuffed ourselves full of delicious food and beer at other Duluth hotspots the night before. Only 3 stars though because the walls are very VERY thin, I could hear someone sneeze down the hall and I could make out every word of the people talking in the room next to us. And don't even ask about the, um, late night activity going on upstairs. EVERYTHING could be heard. So with that if we stay there again I'd request the top floor. Also 3 stars because the heating units are very outdated, we were either sweating hot or freezing cold, it was hard to get the room to a comfortable temperature.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The hotel is neat and historical to look at. The prices for the rooms and what you get is outrageous. Our room was small and so hot with no air flow, the Continental breakfast was cheap, some muffins and rice Krispy cereal.

Dean K.

Yelp
We stayed a week in a suite while attending the Duluth Tall Ships festival in July, 2010. The hotel is a mile away from the harbor and the Lake district with its restaurants and nightlife. Almost any downtown Duluth hotel would have been more convenient. The room had 20 ft ceilings and a huge window looking out over Lake Superior. But (and here's a parable of the whole place) the window has been "fixed" so that it won't open. Air conditioning barely adequate for the summer. Old tube TVs in the suite. No refrigerator or mini-bar frig in the room. There is no ice machine anywhere in the hotel. They want you to call a bellman. This place advertises itself as a 4 star hotel and is priced accordingly. There is no concierge. . The restaurant choices are: (1) Fitger's Brew House, which is a noisy zoo with a line outside it at all times. Maybe the beer is good. We were never brave or patient enough to find out.; (2) Midi's -- overpriced, unexceptional food, bad service. Plenty of good seats available, but try to get them to notice you're there; (3) Mexico Lindo. Duluth Mexican, enough said. Great old building, stunning location. Two stars for character. Great bunch of Minnesota kids on the bell staff and behind the desk. But BAD management and ownership that won't invest in making this a good luxury hotel. With 60 rooms it probably just won't pencil. Avoid this place.

Justine L.

Yelp
We were accommodated with great service by Yohanna and a beautiful room to enjoy. You get more than what you pay for at Fitgers Inn, we will certainly be coming back!

Tanuki H.

Yelp
Because you seduce me with your homemade veggie burger. Bravo all the way! Bonus points for friendly staff and great beer. Thanks for being THE stop on the way to the cabin.

LouAnn W.

Yelp
We loved the included valet service and the friendly and helpful front desk (was very evident she knew the history of the Fitgers building). The room itself had a great feel of it's history, yet very clean with nice amenities (Aveda products) . Bed and pillows were very comfortable! We had a lake-view room. Beautiful views of the lake and lift bridge! Just make sure to bring your own bottle of wine, or you'll pay $40+ for one to be sent via room service. (Dang, should have stopped at the liquor store.)

Kim R.

Yelp
On a recent weekend in Duluth we stayed at Fitger's Inn and I was very impressed. First of all, this building is amazing and has so much history! I loved the high ceilings and huge windows. Plus, our room even had a view of Lake Superior! The staff is wonderful and very helpful and accommodating. They are always on hand for valet parking and to open doors, plus they offer a free shuttle that takes you to Canal Park. One other great thing about this hotel: they offer a FREE pillow bar! You just need to call the front desk and they will bring you the pillow of your choice: feather, buckwheat, foam or body pillow! How sweet is that?? This hotel has an excellent location with lots of neat shops within the building (including Fitger's Brewhouse) and it's located right on the path that takes you to Canal Park. For the price, this hotel is a real winner! If you want to bring your pet, Fitger's has a pet floor.

Zachary A.

Yelp
Experienced extremely rude customer service from the front desk. I would never recommend for any business oriented man. They are concerned about nothing but profit and care nothing for their customers. Especially from the dirty blond kid with glasses that works at the front desk. They were nothing but unprofessional and inconvenient in their actions.

Yelp
2/22/2013 we stay here every year for the LSDR and like alway it was a great time.. the penthouse suites are great. The place is close to everything so you can drink and eat and dont have to go out in the snow. This year we took advantage of the free valet!

Yelp
This place has an old world German charm to it. The rooms are pretty small but comfortable. I was a little nervous because they use actual keys for the doors, I was worried I would lose it! They extended a checkout for a friend of ours who wasn't feeling well so that was really nice of them. They also have a continental breakfast which is a bonus!

Yelp
Not a bad place to stay, but not great either. Our room was over 200 bucks on a Thursday and id say my walk in closet at home is bigger than that room. The fitgers center there is pretty cool though and its close to downtown (5 min walk). So would I stay there again? No, waste of money in my opinion. Go to the holiday inn or sheridan downtown and walk over to the fitgers if you want to check out the shops

Yelp
I LOVE Fitger's. From the second I pulled up, I received excellent service. I felt so relaxed. It is a beautiful setting. My room was amazing, I can't say enough nice things about it. Clean, beautiful, wonderful amenities, comfy beds, quiet hallways, wonderful service. Fitger's is honestly an inn you could just stay at and never leave during your stay. There are excellent restaurants, fun shops and it is in a great location in Duluth along Lake Superior. I highly recommend Fitger's either as a destination or for a stop off on your way up the shore.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at Fitger's. It was the perfect winter getaway because there are restaurants, shops, a bookstore, and a coffee shop all within the hotel. And if you do want to venture out their compliment valet parking is definitely a plus! They warm up your car and have it waiting at the door. I had a minor issue and both the Manager Jim and Assistant Manager Kari were efficient, professional, and went above and beyond to assist me.

Yelp
The level of service and professionalism was simply amazing compared to the other hotels and B&B we have stayed at during our multiple visits to Duluth. This review is based on what my fiance told me (I stayed at a different hotel before the night of our wedding and ended up going to a historic B&B on our wedding night). 1) The valet service was great. My fiance needed to take something out from his car but they simply won't allow him to. Instead, they had the items taken out from his car and delivered it to him. The service was just great and you feel really "taken care of." 2) My fiance had his suit delivered to Fitgers the day before the wedding. He called to inform them about the suit and was just blown away by their level of service when the receptionist knew who he was, what it was about, and what room he was staying in even before he told them his name. They told him not to worry about the suit and that it will be delivered to his room. He went about his day and returned to see his suit in his room. He was just happy he had one less thing to worry about. 3) The room was on the small side but the view was nice. My fiance was impressed and really enjoyed his stay at Fitgers. We also received excellent service from Midi Restaurant and because of our positive experiences at Fitgers, we have decided that we will definitely be staying there when we visit Duluth again. Since our wedding was in Duluth (destination wedding), we made multiple trips up to Duluth and stayed at many different hotels. All I can say is that none of those hotels and B&B that we stayed at in Duluth even come close to the level of service we experienced at Fitgers. My family ended up staying at the Sheraton and was not happy with their level of service, which they thought was only sub-par and my family is used to staying at internationally five-star hotels and receiving the five-star hotel treatment, and they were equally impressed by Fitgers' professionalism and quality of service when we told them about the great experiences my fiance had.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful stay with one glaring execption. Rooms were clean, hotel staff were cordial and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was where we ran into problems. We served ourselves and went to sit down and were planning to join several others in the main dining room of the boat club. They had not yet arrived and we were looking to see where we might want to sit as a large group. Because we had the complimentary breakfast, the tall older gentleman working there with a beard panicked and ran over to me and made it very clear, very rudely that we were not welcome to sit in the main dining room that was for diners only and asked me pointedly did I not see the sign that said that we were not to dine in there. At that point we went and sat in the other part of the dining room that we were allowed to sit in, and I texted the rest of our group and told them not to meet us there. That we would find them later and have breakfast with them somewhere else.

Yelp
The Fitger's Inn in downtown Duluth was one of the best hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in in the Midwest. The room was well-appointed; the highlights being the enormous, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the highlights of downtown Duluth and is a short walk from an array of excellent restaurants and shops. I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
It's hard to beat waking up to the sun rising over Lake Superior as seen through the floor to ceiling windows in our room at Fitger's Inn. I've wanted to stay in this place since the hotel opened in '84 when i was a poor college student in Duluth. I'm glad I finally did it - great location, great ambiance, helpful staff. The hotel gives a feeling of the old shipping boomtown times. Yes, it's pretty darn expensive for a town like Duluth, but they were completely booked up, as they are for most of September (per their website), so I guess they are charging what the market will take. With most of the hotels in Duluth being generic chains, Fitger's charm added a special touch to our vacation.

Yelp
Two stars. Pillows suck. Steps between bed and bathroom. Room is New York small. Have stayed here 4 times in the past yet still get the "have you stayed here before" routine. 200 bucks a night? I don't think so. Will be moving on ...

Yelp
This place was very cool. Right when you walk in you know it's old and you can smell it, but it's the good kind of old if you know what I mean - I think it's been around for over 100 years. This place used to be an old brewery from what I was told. I was greeted by a friendly woman at the front desk then checked into my room. The room was very clean and had antique furniture. Got a great view of the lake and even though it looked old, the bed was very comfortable.

Yelp
Everyone at Fitgers was so nice. The services like free valet and free shuttle really were convenient. The room was so comfortable with the many pillows, luxury bed, bathrobes, and whirlpool tub. I loved the four floor-to-ceiling windows. It was so quiet with the brick and stone exterior. We sat out on the lakeside patio at night. It was a beautiful Inn with restaurants and shops in the adjoining mall. We will definitely be back. Great for honeymooners or adults. Not much for kids to do here.

Yelp
We chose Fitgers Inn for our honeymoon, and couldn't be happier with our decision! Right from the very beginning, the service was wonderful. The complimentary valet and continental breakfast were great touches, and the rooms were stunning. We've both done a fair amount of traveling, and both agreed the room we had a Fitgers was one of he most unique and beautiful rooms we've stayed in. Would recommend over and over again!
