We spent 5 days here and we did day trips from here. We love history so staying in this comfortable and beautifully kept home filled with history was an incredible treat. It was also wonderful to start the day with a tasty breakfast. Helen is a friendly and kind hostess. We were on the second floor and stayed in the Helen and Gordon room. It was quiet. Its location made it within walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. I would highly recommend this place.

This stunning old home is a short walk from shopping, plays, restaurants, and other historic sites. The hostess is charming and full of engaging stories and information about the island. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The prices are comparable to others, but it was the nicest place by far. The breakfast is fresh and delicious every morning, and Helen is happy to meet dietary needs.

This was such a charming stay! The family is very nice and welcoming. The grandson working here did such a good job of showing us around and letting us know about the property! Walk to downtown was not long - it is a great location. When we wanted some downtime we sat outside and enjoyed the quiet location.

We just spent five nights at Fitzroy and it was wonderful. I've never been inclined toward B & Bs but this wasn't a typical B & B - very private, had our own key to front door and room to come and go whenever we wanted. We stayed in the Alexander room on the first floor, complete with sunroom and private veranda. Helen and her staff are fantastic, always friendly and eager to please. The breakfasts that are included in the price are delicious! Highly recommend this beautiful inn!|

We stayed for 4 nights and we had a very pleasant experience. Right in the middle of town so your a walk away from almost everything. I would highly recommend visiting and taking a rest here for a few nights.

I waited a while to do this review. I want to be fair. It is a fair walk to downtown. Issue 1. Victorian down to dolls and buggies. It is museum like. That is not a plus. Breakfast was fair. The woman who owns the home is very very very chatty. We would never go back. I can’t recommend it as a good choice.

From the time we checked in until we left we were made to feel very welcome. Helen, the owner, met us at the door and told us she had upgraded our room to one on the main floor. Awesome room with its own sunroom for relaxing or reading. Her breakfasts were great with a chance to pick what you wanted. We were the only guests for the 3 nights we were there so we got lots of attention! We loved the whole feel of the house and I should mention that this was our 1st B&B experience but it won't be our last. We have already told Helen to expect us again next year.

Yelp
I'd give ZERO stars if I had the choice. The 'customer service' was the absolute WORST I've ever received. We booked our 400$ room for one night. We were told our check in would be between the hours of 2-6 but when we arrived at 2pm, we were greeted with a handwritten note saying 'EMERGENCY!!!!!! Will return at 4:30pm!!' Our afternoon plans were pretty much spoiled due to this. When we finally were able to check in, the woman in charge tried to completely brush past the check in fiasco by flippantly mentioning a "quick errand" and became short and quite rude when we pointed out the unprofessionalism of her timings, saying "no one EVER checks in that early!!!!" ........ as if WE were at fault for showing up on time. She was short with us, pointing out "you're obviously annoyed" at me because while she was showing us around, I was quiet. How uncomfortable. Who does that?? . We pointed out the ridiculousness of the situation but she would not back down. Fine. We had paid for the room so we were stuck with it- might as well enjoy Charlottetown. And we did, until we returned to our room. Personal items had been taken from our room and when I called down to the front desk, the 'innkeeper' was extremely aggressive- immediately threatening to call the police! I obviously called them myself and filed a report (my 20+ year military husband and I aren't exactly known for lying or or causing trouble so I wasn't concerned). The constable mentioned right away that no other call had been received about the incident so it just goes to show the innkeeper was full of it and we had clearly called her bluff. I would absolutely *******NOT RECOMMEND****** this sham of a bed and breakfast. I sincerely hope the innkeeper sees this review and feels ENDLESS SHAME for the GODAWFUL experience she provided us with..... SHAME ON YOU, FITZROY HALL.
