Room was very compact... but that is not the reason for the 2 star review. The mirrors to both wardrobes were cracked see photo. The bathroom was not very clean there was mould around sink and between shower tiles see photo.

Friendly check in, helpful with questions and directions. Due to a booking problem on our end we had to change rooms. The new room’s air conditioning was not working properly and employees onsite did not inform us of the problem until we inquired. During a heat wave, with temperatures reaching 102-103 degrees we were advised to OPEN THE WINDOWS. Management REFUSED any compensation for the inconvenience and even had the nerve to tell our credit card company that services were provided as advertised. Uh, no. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in this lovely city.

Rooms are very tiny, as is to be expected in Paris. Very comfortable though as a place to just sleep after a long day. Quiet area is really nice for those like me who are sensitive to night noise. There is a bar right on the corner, but didn't seem to big a issue on the weekdays that we were there. Good location if you're willing to walk a bit - 15 mins or so to restaurants and things nearby. Good shopping area, etc. Our only issue was the weird way they took the room deposit.... As a tourist, I really don't want to have to give 100 euros in cash to be given back to me on the day of departure... What am I supposed to do with 100 euros the day I'm leaving?? Tried to use several credit cards but they weren't working due to a strange way the guy at the front desk was entering them I think (cards worked fine literally everywhere else we used them... And worked fine to pay the room tax so..???). Overall, a nice stay, but we weren't at the hotel much anyway.

I very much enjoyed this hotel. The shower is small but I’m very small person so it didn’t matter much. Very nice people that work there and very nice bed and room. Great if you are exploring the city a lot and just need a really comfortable place to stay when you get back. Locations okie not the best not really near anywhere touristy.

We stayed in room 301. There were old, dried bloodstain drips from the side of the bed, under the bedside table all the way towards under the table even more blood drops. It kinda looked like a crime scene. We didnt say anything because it was 10pm and we were the last ones to check in. I KNOW the cleaners see the blood when they take out the trash that's next to the blood stains under the table! Im surprised they leave it like that. The room doesnt feel very clean.. like dusty. Decor is old. The closet size shower barely fits one person. Also the shower has black cracks/scratches all over the bottom and feels scratchy standing on it. The staircase outside the room is so narrow and close to the elevator, people can easily fall if not careful. The elevator sometimes doesnt work and it just flashes and stops. Had to keep pressing it. If the room decor was newer and cleaner, the room wouldn't be too bad. But for the price you get and what you recieve definitely not worth the value. Location-based, the neighborhood feels more local and its quiet most of the time. Like another reviewer said, it is near an hospital so expect sirens. It didnt bother us too much since it doesnt last very long and we pass out after a long day. We planned to walk to most attractions which wasnt so bad because there were many attractions along the way. For days we paid for the subway, we didnt want to pay again for the bus, so we walked 15-30mins back depending on which train you use. On a sunny day not too bad but when its raining, we dread it. Lots of restaurants around and grocery stores. Overall its an okay stay but definitely not 4 stars. Staff were nice tho but that's about it.

We liked our little room. Yes, ours was small, with a small stall shower and not much room to move around. But it's all we needed. It was clean, with a cute breakfast area. Friendly bilingual staff was very helpful. The best part is the location for us. We were able to easily take the bus or trains from there to all our spots to visit. The little restaurants and food stores were right around the corner. We enjoyed our stay, and it will forever be our little spot in Paris. Merci beaucou!🫶

The rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and there’s unlimited coffee any time you want downstairs. What more could you want?

Yelp
Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Hotel Five. I was visiting from the United States and was pleased that all of the staff I encountered spoke English. This made me feel welcomed to the hotel, and made my experience less stressful. When we checked into the hotel, the front desk staff offered us a map of the city of Paris. She also circled many tourist attractions that are near the hotel, and answered any questions we had about the area. The hotel was very clean, and I felt safe staying here. However, the rooms are very tiny and there is not much space. The entire room was about how big my closet is back home in the United States. There are small LED lights in the shower which gives a nice touch to the bathroom. If you plan to use public transportation the nearest stop is "Port-Royal" on the RER B line. This is about 40 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport. You can access the airport from the hotel via this line, but you will have to transfer trains one time. The station for "Port-Royal" is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The walk is not too bad, but it is not the best if you have a lot of luggage. Luckily for me, it was about 40 degrees and raining during my stay which made the walk even worse. I think the walk would be more bearable in better weather conditions. There are many places to eat within walking distance. If you are looking for an authentic French bakery on your trip I would suggest going to "Artisan Boulanger Patissier", it is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. You will pass it as you walk to the "Port-Royal" station. They have a great choice of French pastries, sandwiches, and baguettes. All of the items are at reasonable prices. There is also a McDonalds about 7 minutes away if you are missing the United States and want some familiar food. One last thing to add is that breakfast is not included with your stay. There is also a city tax that is added on, that you must pay at checkout. I stayed one night and the tax was around 3€. The hotel staff also held my bags before and after check in.

Yelp
To be the first English reviewer for this place, I can say I felt overall satisfied of my stay here. Thanks to a New York Times recommendation, I found this place and was not let down. The staff also speaks English and they helped me with my bags after I was very tired from traveling. I explained that did not know my way around the city and wanted to explore. The Latin Quarter of Paris is beautiful! The front desk guy even drew on a map his favorite places and helped me orient where I was so that I could get to places by foot, train or bus. A big plus. For those of us used to BIG sleeping quarters, you will be a little (and I mean little) surprised to see just how small hotel rooms are in Paris. The 5 is a boutique hotel, more for looks than anything else. My suitcases were not even full-size and I almost felt the urge to put them out of the room onto the balcony, however, the suite itself was gorgeous! The toilet bowl was separate from the shower, which was really a novel idea. Literally it is housed in a small closet, hence the term 'water closet', with just enough room to sit inside for one. You have to be a small person at that. I am 5'4" and 126 lbs, hardly what you'd consider 'big' at all and I felt a little claustrophobic at first... but I forgot that feeling eventually. The shower was beautiful, as the reviewer below me says there are little 'stars' embedded in the tile grout of the shower. The lighting effect is from some cleverly placed fiber optics which I had never seen before and would like to replicate in my dream home one day, that's how nice it was. The shower heads even changed colors according to temperature, it seriously felt like I was having my own shower party! I took a few extra showers there during my stay just to experience the ambiance a little more. Breakfast was OK. I paid 12 euro for it by credit card prior to booking my trip, and then when I got to the hotel in the afternoon I was told it was okay to enjoy the offerings downstairs. So the next day, when I woke up to eat breakfast, someone else at the front desk says "No, you did not pay. You have to pay again." I did not think this was justifiable on their part. If I am going to pay 254 € for a room, this should not have happened. I went downstairs anyway to see what they had, and the maids were all complaining in French. One of them even told a blonde haired lady who looked like a manager that she was quitting the next week! Suddenly I didn't feel so hungry anymore. You are better off going out to eat for that price. I stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights. I would encourage anyone to try it, by all means. Since this was my first trip to Paris, I cannot say there are better hotels but my husband said that many Parisian hotels offer a lot less. The room I was in had a blow dryer, flat screen, wi-fi (which I didn't use because I didn't bring a laptop) and the bed was covered in faux rose petals upon arrival. I was by myself in the city but I wish I would have had him there with me since he speaks the language and knows the city. I got lost a couple times on foot but it is really easy to get to the Luxembourg gardens from here, and the CDG airport is easily accessible by train.

Yelp
This was a lovely little hotel in a quiet and comfortable neighborhood. The staff were warm and welcoming and the rooms were quite clean (although compact)

Yelp
This hotel is complete crap! after buying a non refundable stay, i tried to change the dates and was told that "non-refundable" means that one cannot change anything on the reservation. Honestly, either the hotel needs to get a better manager (as they were completely unaccommodating), or it needs to use a better online translator for their words. http://beta.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nonrefundable = means that a payment cannot be returned. it does NOT mean that it cannot be changed! Seriously - I strongly advise against staying at this hotel unless you want to experience the rude side of the country!

Yelp
Quiet. Very, very quiet. Two to three days before we were to stay at the Five Hotel we received a phone call from them advising us that due to "water problems" we would have to switch to another hotel for part of our stay (The Seven Hotel). The Seven Hotel was a more expensive hotel and just down the block which was nice. The staff took care of moving our luggage over for us. While it was an inconvenience they at least tried to lessen it on us. The Five Hotel itself is located on a very, very quiet street. It was so quiet that we didn't hear any street noise from our suite. In a busy city such as Paris this was great! What was most surprising is that at night there was a complete lack of people around. We felt extremely safe walking around very late at night. We ended up walking from the hotel to all the major attractions without any sort of issue so it didn't seem that far away from anything. The metro stops were close by and we were able to take the RER from CDG airport straight to it (without transferring) and it was a short walk to the hotel. The room itself was a little on the small side; it would be tough to spread out your luggage and that. This may be what some call "charming" but if you are used to typical North American hotel rooms it will definitely be smaller. Our room had a balcony which was definitely a plus. The fibre optic lighting effects are different, the neat factor wears off but I give them credit for trying something different. It was definitely clean however even though the "do not disturb" sign was put out the staff still came in on a daily basis. We didn't take in the breakfast since there is always so much around that we can try however they seemed to be renovating their breakfast room at the time of our visit so they were offering breakfast in their "love capsule". The WiFi was free for us however it was a little on the slow side. Perhaps being in North America I am used to high speed everywhere but I definitely noticed pages were slow to load. Overall I think the hotel is great: everything was within walking distance (to us), the staff were friendly and the price was really good (booking through a third party site rather than the hotel site). While there were some drawbacks, such as having to move hotels partway through our stay, we were pleased with how this was handled (well beforehand and not just surprising us when we arrive).

Yelp
Finished off our honeymoon with 7 nights in Paris at the Five Hotel. The hotel is nice, modern, and clean. Just a bit too far from most sights for my taste. We used Velib to get around Paris from this hotel, which made the city FAR more accessible than the Metro stations nearby.

Yelp
A very chic hotel with tiny, tiny rooms and funky mood lighting. The staff was excellent and happy to help me with various baggage & travel needs. It's also in a cool neighborhood and convenient location from the airport, Gare Lyon, etc. There is free wi-fi but I had problems staying connected just to check email; they need to upgrade their system. Minus being rudely awakened by drunk neighbors at 4AM (not the Hotel's fault!), I had an overall positive experience and would stay here again.
