Five Sails changes their menu completely by their Head Chef Alex Kim, Top Chef winner of 2025. They are pleasantly surprised. Reservation requires a deposit to avoid no show. As we walked in the restaurant we were greeted by the host and take us to our usual table. The new restaurant manager Ellie also came to greet us at our table with explanations and introductions to their new menu. Overall the dishes are prepared with great attention to detail and gastronomy. They are well presented and pleasing to the eyes! I asked for low sodium diet and they have noted to offer in our future visits. There are some minor servicing details where the restaurant manager demonstrates the eagerness to listen and continue to improve and enhance the dinning experience. The restaurant decor is elegant and refined. The background music could be a little bit softer and I personally prefer music to songs. Overall we thoroughly enjoy tonight’s dinning experience and have made an upcoming reservation to celebrate my birthday next month. This restaurant is definitely back to our to-go lists in celebration.

We came to Five Sails to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The waterfront and mountain views were absolutely stunning, setting the perfect scene for a special evening. The food was Michelin-level – we had beef tartare to start, followed by filet mignon and lamb loin. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was attentive and professional, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary, which made us feel special. The price was fair for the quality and overall experience. A couple of things could be improved: we had to wait 15 minutes for our table, even though we arrived exactly on time for our reservation. Also, the music didn’t quite match the elegant setting – a more classic lounge vibe would be more fitting. That said, the volume was just right and didn’t interfere with conversation.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea experience with my friends here. It was our first time and we’re impressed. Highlights Great views- we had a window seat Good ambience - quiet atmosphere and great for chatting Good food - the pastries and items were so delicately made and delicious; you can tell a lot of thought and love were put into making them. I didn’t find anything too overly sweet; flavours were well balanced and rich. The buns were wrapped to keep warm and the chantilly cream was so good. Service was great, though in the beginning we had to ask our tea to be filled a couple times. Later on the servers came to check to see if we needed more hot water. We were running late but the host was very understanding and kept our seats; it wasn’t too busy at the time. They let us stay for as long as we like! Whereas other places we’ve been gave us 1.5-2 hrs dining time for afternoon tea and it felt a bit rushed especially when it takes time to select tea and for the pastries to arrive. This was amazing - we were so grateful to be able to sit and catchup; we ended up staying for 3 hrs lol. My only suggestion is for the teapots and cups to be a little fancier to match the afternoon tea theme, but no biggie. The tea selection and itself was great. Also, it was bright when we started dining at 2pm, so wait a bit later or bring some shades if you are sensitive. All in all, loved it and can’t wait to come back🥰 Thanks for the great experience!

We had a wonderful meal at Five Sails. They were serving a special tasting menu that consisted of dishes that Chef Alex Kim cooked to recently win the Canadian Culinary Championship. Those dishes were creative and delicious and were well worth the price of the tasting menu. The dessert, though not part of the award winning dishes, was also very memorable, being very tasty without being too sweet, and, at the same time, a fantastic delight to the eye. Service was impeccable -- very attentive but not intrusive. The various servers showed up at just the right moment to do what they needed to do. The place was close to full yet not too noisy so conversation was easy. Most enjoyable!

My partner and I celebrated our 3yr Anniversary and they made it Extra Special and memorable. Foods are on-point and delicious. Service is great and they explained each food very well. Ambiance is so relaxing especially they gave us the table with a nice view. My partner was craving to salad but there’s nothing on the menu so I asked if they have it available. Esther went to the kitchen to confirm with the chef and they made it possible. My partner was so happy. I’d like to acknowledge the Restaurant Director Alex, our waitress Esther who goes above and beyond - not sure where she’s getting her energy, Chris, the receptionist who called and confirmed my reservation forgot her name but she greeted us gracefully when my partner and I came in, and the Chefs for the job well done. Great job! 👏🏻 We will surely be coming back.

A first class dining experience. Not easy to find as the signs are few. Just go to Pan Pacific Hotel and head for the R - restaurant floor. Service impeccable. Food, delicious, well presented, complex flavours. My scallops and then the duck, perfectly cooked. The lobster main, also. Order the grand Marnier soufflé in advance as it takes some time to make. Overall a great meal for our last night in Vancouver

I was there a few days ago for my birthday celebration, and it was the best choice I made! The view and food were genuinely amazing, but what truly impressed me was the service. Every single staff member came to wish me a happy birthday, and they put so much effort into making my day special—I can’t appreciate it enough! Alex Kim came to explain the dishes, and I felt very welcomed. A special thanks to Martina and Kei, who took such good care of our table with genuine warmth definitely will be back for afternoon tea soon! thank you so much

Our server Michael D and the manager Kei Korrai were amazing. They would give me generous pours for my wine pairing with the new tasting menu. Michael even had the chef Juan Ruiz-Torres come out to do some explanations. Wonderful experience. 10/10. Our table felt like VIPs. Highlight from the menu was the oyster with edible shell. These chefs know what they’re doing. Thank you. I will definitely be back when I am in town.
