I don’t usually leave reviews unless the experience is either amazing or awful—fortunately, this was the former! I had a great time at Flakowitz Boynton and was especially impressed with the Rachel sandwich—absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, the ingredients fresh, and you could tell real care went into the food. It was packed as well. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

The House of Jane

Google
The food is always consistently good. Large portions of New York, Jewish deli food. Everything on the menu is delicious. The bread, rolls, and pickles are standard with your meals. I had the matzoh ball chicken soup, stuffed cabbage, and potato latkaes with applesauce. My mom had lean cornbeef on rye. Come here for the amazing food. There’s always a line but you’ll get seated. You can also buy food to go in the store; bagels, breads, cakes, cookies, and prepared soups and much more.

You’ll need to slip between the busy times or suffer a wait in line. No worries because it’s well managed and moves quickly. There is an abundance of food choices and very ample portions on everything. Service staff is doing a superb job with the heavy work load they have. This place was good enough for Guy and it was fine with us. Fairly priced, we’ll be back,

Google
Their Flagship Restaurant (I usually eat at their Boca Raton spot) - this restaurant is superb in every aspect! Delicious Chicken 🐔 Salad (real chicken) off the bird - Real Hellmans Mayonnaise, Carnegie Mustard & Heinz Ketchup too! BLT was... magnificent! I've enjoyed hearty breakfasts here as well. Food is top quality. Service staff is very attentive to customers needs. Fabulous Bakery inside restaurant.

I just spent $75 for 3 corned beef sandwiches and only one was made correctly. They were all cold, I asked for extra cheese and didn’t get that either. They fries were even soggy. Not crispy at all. I took one back and they corrected it, but none of them were edible. All of them were just FAT!!! It was disgusting. A total waste of money. I just threw it in the trash. So disappointing. I will never shop here again. One star is being generous! YUK! And I tipped them $12.00 for a carry out!! 😡

Google
The food was amazing, as always. We had breakfast and it was hot, fresh, and so tasty! The service was quick and friendly. Make sure to grab some goodies on the way out from the bakery.

Google
Really good cuts of meat. Great sandwiches and soup amazing deli. We just happened to be in the area and saw this before we got on to the turnpike and sat down and had lunch. My wife is from New York it's very traditional I'm not a fan of sour pickles but other than that this place was top-notch really good food.

Google
Great quality food and variety for a great price. Very kind counter lady who assisted us. Will definitely be coming back ! We had bagels with cream cheese they were fresh and some sweets. So many options

Yelp
Always crowded, for dinner; food has improved considerably, since my last review ! They must have gone back to Ist cut corned beef. (you can tell the difference!) I have Romanian steak, when I come for dinner, that is usually, very good! ( 3G's dropped it, from their menu, so, I will now be ordering that here!) My husband, likes to order, coconut crusted white fish.. he enjoys that!

Yelp
My kids wanted chicken soup, and I was thrilled to see Flakowitz pop up on my GrubHub search for chicken soup. I was even more thrilled to see they carry chicken noodle soup AND chicken matzo ball soup. I ordered both, and rounded it out with the salad trio: I chose whitefish, shrimp, and waldorf chicken salad. I would have prefered these to be in little containers but the only option on this ordering format was the salads smushed together, with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, coleslaw, and a choice of bread. My husband wolfed these down before I could even try them. I snagged the round of challah: it was awesome. The pickles were awesome too! Unfortunately, my kids rejected everything, even though both soups are incredible picky-kid-friendly because they have nothing visibly green floating in either! But that just meant I had no shame in enjoying the whole thing of matzo ball soup for lunch today - and it was delicious. Thank you!

Yelp
We took our great clients here for lunch about 1:30. We sat down right away even though it was busy. Table was set and we ordered. I had their famous Reuben sandwich with fries and coleslaw. They ordered kippered salmon and egg dishes. Paul had a corned beef sandwich. All the entrees were packed with meat and the fish and egg platters were overwhelming. Our clients said they loved this place over a fancy restaurant. You get what you want your way and everyone is satisfied and even have plenty to go home with.

Yelp
First time here. It looked like a good Jewish deli. My aunt took my mom and I here. Looking forward to it . It has rave reviews. It is incredibly crowded here but the pastries look good. It must be good because it's popular. the menu looked huge. We shared a Reuben and kasha and stuffed Derma.Everything is delicious.best lunch I ever had. Best mini linzer tart ever.

Yelp
Everything was so fresh and delicious! Best liverwurst ever. Flavorful and good portions!

Yelp
Flakowitz is our favorite deli in the West Boynton Beach area! The menu has so many options, I still order new items with each visit. They were featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives so they get busy. They do not take reservations, so give yourself some time if coming on Saturday and Sunday morning. They are perfect for breakfast and lunch. You can also come in just for the bakery and walk up deli. We love that they bake on premise, the marble chiffon cake they give you when you dine in, is our family favorite. My other favorite is their bialy bagel, more like a bread roll consistency. The ambiance at Flakowitz makes you feel like you are in an old fashioned New York deli style restaurant. They have plenty of servers, so service is quick and efficient.

Yelp
Best bagels in south Florida Not even close Fifty stars Just had them delivered Why go anywhere else

Yelp
Food is very good. There are many choices of what to eat. It is setup like a deli or diner. The only negative is service is very SLOW because the place is always crowded mornings& evenings their baked goods are out of this world.
google avatar

Yelp
The only reason I didn't give this place a five star review is because the service was lacking. However, the food here is to die for. I would recommend this place to anyone. Even though the service wasn't great, we returned two days in a row because the food was stellar!!

Phyllis F.

Yelp
Won't be going back for a long time. 3pm. Not crowded. Seated immediately. Waited 15 minutes for someone to notice us. Said something and as told in loud voice that we "just" sat down. Had to remind waitress about things 2 or 3 times. Time for check, she was right there. Poor attitudes, poor service, food ok....... I hate going out where "they are doing you a favor".
google avatar

Yelp
Great sandwiches - smaller than on past visits which is the reason for only 4 stars - and fantastic service. We stopped in for early dinner at 4pm, Selena was friendly, efficient and gracious. I loved the challah rolls with butter (we took home the extras) and my brisket sandwich was delicious. The au jus was piping hot and the potato latke was fresh & crispy! Hubby loved his pastrami on rye & seasoned fries. We purchased some cookies at the bakery too. I love that this space is fully accessible and the staff make every effort to seat people and keep aisles clear for walkers/canes/etc. When we left at 5:30 the line was out the door so come early (they lock the doors promptly at 7:30pm). We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Cookies are excellent! Haven't had anything else here in a long time but my mom brought over a box of chocolate cookie mix last week. Nice and fresh!

Yelp
Flakowitz has expanded and now has a private event space next door; they opened this week. Our HOA Welcome Committee hosted a meet & greet brunch for 30 this morning. Mark, the sommelier prepared a lavish feast for our community. The room was beautifully decorated and the food and drinks were abundant & delicious. Service was impeccable & prices reasonable. We enjoyed our drink station with bloody Mary's, mimosa's and coffees. Bagels, cream cheese spreads, baked goods, fruit salad and quinoa salad were on the banquet table, we enjoyed these family style. Individually we had water and a plate with lox and vegetables. We enjoyed a hot buffet with French toast, cheese scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausages. There was so much food, we were given plastic containers to take some home. It was funny, this space just opened and many that walked past pressed up against the glass to peek inside. Those that passed asked those entering what was happening here?

Yelp
I would definitely go back here! The place is quite big, and does a booming business in both takeout and sit-down service. Be warned: there will likely be a lineup and wait. A lot of tasty Jewish food, like a trip down memory lane! Lots to choose from on the menu. The great thing was that we arrived close to closing time (7:00), but they still graciously seated and served us. We didn't leave until after 8:00pm.

Dawne A.

Yelp
Was here on Sunday around 12:30, we waited five minutes (not in season). We were greeted promptly by our server with coffee in hand. I had a Spinach and Feta omelette was delicious and nicely filled. My parents shared a lox platter was very well presented and more than enough for two with leftovers.. We did manage to buy takeout both from the deli side and bakery and everything was quite good! The place can be noisy but hey busy is good. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
I came to flakowitz today, and it was packed. So I decided to order to go. I had the pastrami on rye sandwich and also bought some lox to take to my daughter. The sandwich was pretty decent. Pastrami was juicy, and it had plenty of it. It brings a small side of coleslaw and will run you about 15 bucks. I would actually order that sandwich again. I wish I could have sit down and had it there for the whole experience, but had little time to wait. Cool place, good food.

Yelp
Lines are too long + I paid for an item that never was placed in my bag. Made the mistake of not taking a receipt

Michele E.

Yelp
My husband and I went there in order from the delicatessen area. The person who took care of me was extremely rude and they had a sign for a piece of cake for 295 and she said she didn't know anything about it and I showed her the sign and she said she still didn't know about it. I said ask the manager. The manager said we no longer honor her that did not give us something in lieu of that and he said thank you have a nice day extremely rude to us before that we had ordered $40 worth of food we just walked out without the food. There's no reason anyone has to be that rude to us. Their food is very good but their customer service is terrible. Everyone looked at the situation and belief how we were treated. They were very rude and disrespectful . They should not be working where you're supposed to get excellent customer service.

Yelp
I was (sadly) attending a funeral for my 101 yr old aunt and after the ceremony nearby we all met for a late lunch and I ordered a pastrami sammie on rye bread with a potato pancake (more like a skinless knish) with cold slaw and pickles. It was a respectable pastrami sandwich for the price ($18) especially with the sides provided. I live in S.F. now and we really don't have old jewish deli options - let alone for under $20 ! This was a welcomed return to my New Yawk roots ! Solid service - complimentary marble cake on the table and staff that worked hard and kept us all well fed !! Wish they opened a branch in the Bay Area ! Highly recommended. Should have higher ratings IMHO !! Show some deli love !!!

Yelp
A staple when we come to visit Florida!! The service is great, the food is consistently good. You feel like you're transported to a New York deli when you walk in.

Yelp
The Rotting Knish: The sad demise of Jewish Deli in South Florida. I remember great south Florida delis like Rascal House and Wolfies and Pumpernicks. The food quality and service made them memorable. Great family moments were had there. No longer. I think people are desperate for those bygone days, because nothing else could explain how a less than mediocre bad representation of Jewish deli food like this - complete with awful, downright dismissive service - could survive. There must be nothing better to compete with this walking dead deli. The service staff said "no" more than they said "yes" - to the point of lunacy. They treat you like cattle, like you'd be lucky if they scrounge up one more muffin for you, or cook your meat to the requested temperature for a $28 entree (they treated my 86-year-old mom to medium lamb when she asked for rare and then refused to refire it to her request, just awful). The food was a waste of calories from soup to bland desserts. The whole meal was just sad in that you couldn't help but think how much this style of once vibrant cuisine has sunk. It breaks my heart. There are still good delis out there. This isn't one of them. What a massive disappointment. Sometimes it's time for the old to die to make way for the new. Flakowitz, your time is up.

Yelp
I wish I loved flakowitz as much as a I did 4 years ago, but the overall experience has just gone down hill. Today I ordered a turkey sandwich, that came with no toppings or dressing, it was about the driest sandwich I've ever had. The waiter often needed to go back into the kitchen due to forgetting items. Unfortunately, flakowitz is no longer on my go to spot for a sandwich.

Yelp
There was an episode of Star Trek in which an alien had been watching Earth through a telescope. He saw what humans ate. So, when Kirk and crew visited the alien, he wanted to prepare a feast. The food looked great. The problem was that the food had no flavor because the alien saw the food from a distance but had never tasted it. That is my view of Flakowitz. Everything looks like a New York Deli, but lacks the flavor. It is a great place if you want to remember New York deli after moving South. But, the food is just ok.

Steven K.

Yelp
Food quality is down prices way up definitely not what it used to be. I used to be a good customer now I haven't gone in over a year not worth it.

Yelp
Went for lunch for my sister birthday She had the corn beef Ruben n fries looked and tasted amazing I had brisket of beef n fries delicious If it was hot it would be been 5 stars

Yelp
Flakowitz is known for good food, large portions and great early bird specials! Now they also have a party room adjacent to the restaurant. We had an event there a few weeks ago and it was very lovely. The food was presented nicely - there was an abundance of food that was enjoyed by about 40 guests - Their bakery is excellent (but expensive). Next time you are hosting an event - consider Flakowitz.
google avatar

Yelp
Flakowitz is a local star in the world of deli. Always busy, bustling with people of all ages although the older crowd is dominant. Rightly so, as the dishes are traditional NY style deli. Service is usually very good, only once I had a not so great experience but I understand these things happen being a server myself. Breakfast was terrific, the specials they have are extremely reasonably priced and the portions are abundant. The deli is delicious, my favorite is the corned beef on rye. I think now this sandwich is about $20 but it's 2 meals worth for me and it's worth it in my opinion. I also like their matzo ball soup and knishes. Check it out for a bit of NY nostalgia, kinda feels like home for us transplanted NYers
google avatar

Janette M.

Yelp
Ordered breakfast off the specials- 2over easy eggs, sausage, and tomatoes just as ordered. Only thing the sausage was dry and rather bland. The waitress was wonderful she took great care of me we chatted and laughed. In general all staff took exceptional care of all clients. Many take care of the same clients they anticipate the needs ahead of time which truly is a winner. The environment was quiet and one table had the cutest elderly gentleman singing to his wife!
google avatar

Ana R.

Yelp
Good food but unfortunately I got cheated on my last order with the baked salmon salad platter. The platter came barely with a scoop of baked salmon salad and loaded with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and sour pickle. Had a small potato salad, but basically the $15.95 was for anything else other than what I eagerly anticipated: the baked salmon salad. I believe I got more when I ordered as a sandwich. They have a tasty menu and generally a busy establishment.
google avatar

Mitch R.

Yelp
Ordered matzoh ball chick noodle soup, container of chicken salad and a couple egg bagels. Matzoh balls are huge and tasty, good soup with nice amount of noodles. Chicken salad was just right with big chunks of chicken while egg bagels still fresh at 5pm. Service was quick and friendly

zeke h.

Yelp
Bakery is top notch both breads, bagels and pastries are as good as it gets here. Deli is hit or miss. Often crowded to the point of 40 minute waits. Soups are also excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, there are some things that are good, but there's a lot of chaos at this place. I wanted to try a new bagel place in the area and I walked in and like I said it felt very chaotic. There was a lot of workers but not a lot of organization. I ordered a toasted bagel with tuna on it that came with potato salad and a pickle. I had to remind the worker twice that I wanted cheese on it and that I wanted potato salad because he kept giving me coleslaw. When I got to the car, I realized he forgot the cheese. Also, the price for a bagel with tuna and three bagels on the side with cream cheese was $25. That is extremely expensive to me. I tried the tuna and it was very bland. Very little taste. The bagels are good and the cream cheese is good but honestly, I would probably never go there again. I also wanted to get iced coffee which they do have but they did not have any non-dairy milk so I couldn't order that.

Patrick R.

Yelp
Our server, Brenda is always so pleasant and ready with the coffee pot at the ready. Our food is always fresh and delicious. It is a pleasure to have a great little place for breakfast or lunch. There are plenty of tables and comfortable.

Jack S.

Yelp
Excellent deli restaurant. Food is very good. Service is very good. Note to Management. Please clean the bathrooms more often and the Deli counter runs out of food items often, at night Multiple nights that I have been there.. No rye bread left. No plain bagels left. No chocolate bobka left. These are deli staples. Please order more. Thanks.

Yelp
TripleD stop #112 The TripleD Trio of MatzoBall Soup, a Knish, and Cabbage Roll....mmmmm. My first taste of Knish and MatzoBall Soup...love them both! Terri got the Grilled Cheese and some bread from the bakery (to go). The complimentary cakes were chocolaty good.

Karen C.

Yelp
Went to exchange an item from the takeout department that was disappointing. When I went back , I was treated terribly. They threw the items on the counter and didn't put them in a bag . When I asked for a bag, another worker threw a bag at me. I came back a 1/2 hour later and the worker asked when did I buy this. I said you just helped me Very poor customer service. I won't be going back there.

Yelp
Excellent food Service Ambience And value Gets crowded early Jewish soul food Enjoy

Xina Z.

Yelp
Food is less than average, but service is horrible. Absolutely rude, and want to push you out the door before you even finish half your meal.
google avatar

Donna C.

Yelp
Great bagels! Great salt sticks!!!! Yummy. Definitely will go back here again. A must place.

Mark S.

Yelp
If I could give it a zero. I would..wanted to share a sandwich, so waiter said there was a ten dollar sharing fee...the ten dollar fee was for a sandwich dinner, not a sandwich...spoke to the moron manager, who happens to also be the co owner, and he lied about who he was...said he was the manager, and that Flakowitz is a family owned business...he too, insisted that there was a ten dollar sharing charge..it was on the menu, yes, it was on the menu for the dinner, not the sandwich...there are hidden fees on your bill, they nickel and dime you, for everything...I will never go there again, and am thinking of giving the news stations some complaints, about Flakowitz...it's high time that someone complains about this clip joint. People are so desperate for good Jewish style food, that they go to Flakowitz, well, what they need down here is some competition...Flakowitz is overrated, and overpriced, and the food is adequate..so, if your thinking of going there, think again, and try some other deli's, in Delray..
google avatar

Tania P.

Yelp
I gave the restaurant a great review because the food & service is good & the owner chose to misinterpret my review. I have Long Covid now & am disabled & lost my health & my livelihood because of Covid. I don't go to indoor crowded places where there is no Far UVC Light. Only take out. Far UVC Light safely cleans the air of all viruses including Covid & all bacteria. There are grants for business owners through the EPA for clean air healthy bldgs. Until all restaurants have Far UVC light mandated like carbon monoxide detectors are mandated, I will only be doing take out.

Yelp
I was happy to find a NY style deli in the area that served up big hot pastrami and corned beef sandwiches. I went for brunch with a friend on a Friday. We were seated right away but It was quite busy. Our server brought out complimentary marble cake and we ordered a greek omelet with home fries and a bowl of matzo ball soup with half a sandwich. The only restriction was the half sandwich could not be grilled. They had many good options available. I decided on the brisket with some advice from our server. It came with a side of potato salad and pickles. The half sandwich was piled high with brisket although you cant see in this picture. I actually had to take some off the bread to bite into the sandwich. The rye bread was really good and i noticed a bakery with lots of bread, cookies and sweets at the front as we walked in. They also had many salads and deli meat options. Before the sandwich arrived I was served my bowl of soup. It was piled with chicken chinks and noodles with a big matzo ball in the center. It was really good and a meal in itself. My friends omelet was huge and the potatoes were big and looked really good. I noticed they also had knishes and soups to take home in the cold case. The prices were a little high but i would return and try more items on their extensive menu. I just think delis in general are great.

Yelp
I know I was an old Jew in my other life. What Puerto Rican brings her own cherry peppers so she can put it on a pastrami sandwich? Who drools over pasta and Kasha? I grew up in Williamsburg, and frequented all the great delis like Ratners and Katz's, 45 years here in Florida and we are still looking for a good pastrami sandwich until I got here. everything is old-school, including the Bialys the challah, the marble poundcake, Celray soda. One of my doctors is located down here and every time I go visit I stop at Flakowitz. Top shelf as we say in New York . The only complaint is that they don't have a big enough parking lot.

Clifford M.

Yelp
Service is outstanding and the food quality is just like the great NYC delis. Breakfast is also an excellent value.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
I don't know why I keep trying Flakowitz in Boynton. AND.... everytime I walk out feeling unfulfilled and my waitress I had to ask for her.. I was her only customer and she definately made me feel like I was invisible. When I wanted to get the bill no one could find her so they gave me a waiter that I never saw. I don't usually not tip no matter how bad the situation is. This woman just didn't give a crap. We'll if she couldn't give one than neither do I.
google avatar

Brian A.

Yelp
If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything, and this place was clearly determined to set an unparalleled standard of mediocrity. The sour pickles were sour-ish. Pastrami was the most pedestrian I've ever eaten. Cole slaw was incredibly meh. Rye bread was terrible, so they need to raise that bar a bit. The cake they give you when you sit down was a little bit better, so there's that. And service was perfectly paired with the food. It would appear that when you're one of the only delis for a hundred miles, people are not that picky. If you are, pick elsewhere.
google avatar

Cindy B.

Yelp
Always good. Had the turkey dinner with salad, mashed potatoes and homemade apple sauce. My friend had stuffed cabbage. Enough for two meals. Waitress very friendly. It's a deli so if you want ambience not the place.
google avatar

Mike U.

Yelp
20 minute wait for a table at lunchtime. Basically deli food. Ordered their pastrami sandwich which was a nice s8ze, they did not shortchange us on food by any means. French fries and potato salad including. Also a pound cake slice for dessert gratis. Service was quick and there wasn't a long wait for our food once we ordered. The food was good but not a wow hence the 4 rating. Would definitely go back.
