Humiliated by an Elderly Waitress During the Meal
1. When serving the dishes, she said in a lecturing tone, "You need to help me clear the table." The diners were happy to assist, but there was no need for such rudeness.
2. While I was taking photos during the meal, she slammed two bowls of fish soup onto the table with excessive force, clearly showing her displeasure.
3. When serving again, she snapped aggressively, "Don’t take photos while I’m serving." I replied, "I wasn’t filming you—I was photographing the food." She retorted, "I just don’t like it when you take pictures while I’m serving," in a tone that was almost confrontational. When we suggested she could have asked politely, she shouted back, "I am being polite—you’re the rude ones!" Her yelling was so loud the entire restaurant could hear.
She was noticeably friendly toward Europeans. As tourists, taking photos is completely normal, and we didn’t interfere with her work. If she had any issues, she should have consulted her colleagues instead of taking it out on guests.
I even suspect she was racist and biased against us.
We came to this lakeside restaurant based on its reputation, only to encounter such hostility from this elderly waitress. As a service provider, any requests should be communicated respectfully, not with aggression.
The two younger waitstaff were very polite and attentive to diners’ needs throughout the meal.
