The experience was absolutely incredible! We were treated like royalty. The place is like a dream, the food is beyond delightful (we tried almost everything on the menu :D), and the attention to detail was impeccable. Ben was our guy, and he did an absolutely amazing job. We will definitely be returning soon, no doubt about it!

Google
The food is amazing when it comes to flavour and presentation. I would only say the portions can be worked upon because they are quite small. Our server was amazing. The wine list is nice. The manager is I believe a sommelier so you can look for recommendations. Overall, it was a great experience ☺️

We’re visiting Annapolis and decided to stop by Flamant for an early dinner. Everything was exceptional. From the amazing and super attentive servers, to the exquisite food, and lovely ambiance. The place is stunning. We chose to sit outdoors and it was really peaceful and enjoyable. We ordered a charcuterie board, the shared cowboy steak, and crème brûlée tart. All were delicious. The cowboy steak was cooked to perfection, super tender and flavorful. Staff was very welcoming and opened the door for us. It was a refreshing experience. This will definitely be our go-to next time we stop by Annapolis.

We ate here on a weekend and had a fantastic time. Loved the atmosphere, fairly casual. We got a reservation same day. Our waitress was awesome and provided excellent recommendations. We got the charcuterie board, escargot, bavette steak, salmon, and the peach pie. I had a an elderflower gimlet, some wine (can’t remember which - I think it was recommended by our waitress), and an espresso martini. The food and drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to go back

Google
This a small Belgian bistro in an Annapolis neighborhood, and we decided to give it a try. The staff is very friendly and appear to be well trained, ambiance is quaint and welcoming, drink options were vast and ranged from classic to chic, menu options were amazing. We got the carrots as an appetizer....while I was skeptical, they did not disappoint as I could have eaten these as my meal. Sous vide salmon was incredible, as was the steak. Desserts were out of this world also. We topped the evening off with a cappuccino and it was so good I took a look at their machine to see what they were using. Definitely pricey, but well worth the trip!

Google
A unique restaurant in Annapolis. French country style with neighborhood vibes. The decor seemed impeccably styled, meticulous and felt clean. Staff was far above expectations. The focus seems to be on high quality, top chef style food. Everything was done well, technique and execution was good. Everything we had was delicious. Prices are not absurb but keep in mind portion sizes are rather small so drives up the overall price of the meal. I'd come back for the unique vibe and good food.

Google
Relatively new restaurant and you'd never know because they certainly have their act together! Fabulous meal start to finish! The escargot spread was phenomenal. Smaller bistro type vibe, reservations recommended.

Google
Good ambience. The snacks and appetizers had great presentation, looked like artwork. The restaurant apparently changes menus every 12 weeks. While it may be good for seasonal items, we did not get to order items we wanted based on older pictures we saw online. Food tastes okay, could be more flavorful, considering the price tag. The pea shrimp came without any shrimp at all, so had to ask for it. Overall a decent experience.

Yelp
This place has been on our to do list for a while. Made reservations and came on a Saturday night when the Navy game had just ended. Very small parking lot but plenty of street parking. We tend to go Spanish, Middle eastern and Asian in our off the beaten path choices. This place is what, new European? Whatever it is, it was great. Beautifully decorated space. The outdoor dining will be great in the fall. The service was top notch. Our server gave great recommendations. She was always prompt to check on us. We started with the summer corn salad. It was light and fresh. Just enough to get your appetite going. Hubby got the steak frites. He cleared his plate. Completely cleared it. I had the mussels. So delicious. The half protein was the perfect amount for dinner. Also got the focaccia bread. I'll be honest. I think my focaccia is better but it was still very tasty. Went with our servers recommendation for dessert. The summer pie. Peaches. Vanilla ice cream. Good lord. So delicious. Perfect end to dinner. And hey, they do wine dinners too!

Yelp
All around a very fine experience at Flamant. If I had to describe the experience in one sentence it would be "style over substance." We came here for lunch on a Saturday and were put outside without an option to sit inside or outside (luckily for us it was an unusually cool day in Maryland in June because I don't love sitting outside eating with bugs everywhere). The atmosphere is very cute and a nice place to hang on a Saturday afternoon- luckily we were in no rush because it took over 30 minutes to get the first part of our meal. The food was okay, we ordered the escargot donuts, the crab rolls, the Royale with cheese and grilled asparagus. The escargot donuts were a good savory donut, would never tell there was escargot in there but enjoyable to eat. Whatever you do DO NOT ORDER THE CRAB ROLLS. You can get better crab meat from any tourist trap marina restaurant and it will be a lot better and a lot cheaper (the 5 crab sticks we got were $16 and tasted like imitation crab). The rest of the meal was better food, nothing exceptional. Come here for the atmosphere and for a longer hang with friends, do not come for the food because that was the worst part of the experience.

Yelp
Magnificent menu offering tastings of different tapas, entrees, wines and desserts. The hospitality here was off the charts and I really enjoyed myself. It was my friends bday, and they even brought out a nice candle for him. The service was excellent and paired the wines to the dishes great. My compliments to the chef as everything was prepared wonderfully.

Yelp
What a gem, a treat, a capolavoro! We did the four course tasting and opted for a bottle of champagne as we needed to celebrate and boy did Flamant and Chef Brian deliver! Every bite was better than the one before. They started strong with the blue crab rolls (which I could feast on by the pound), a lamb meatball and a salmon lemon snack. Next the crawfish bao (dumpling) with big chunks of crawdaddies and a whole punch of flavor. The main was magical - LAMB BACON and SCALLOPS on fried greens. The best rendition of surf and turf I've seen in years. Great portions on the apps and mains. The desserts are not to be missed. My table had the miso pot du creme, chocolate crunchy bar and the fromage blanc with a pear glaze and nobody wanted to share. I've never had such inventive cuisine in Annapolis and you can tell by these other reviews complaining about the reservation fee that they've never been anywhere this nice before- you get it back on the check! We left full, satisfied and dying to come back.

Yelp
The restaurant is very beautiful inside. I was not really impressed by the server and the menu is very unique and I was not impressed by the it. The service was okay but I had to ask repeatedly for small condiments. I would say go for the experience and the scenery.

Yelp
I was shockingly disappointed with Flamant. From the outside, everything looks wonderful. There are fairy lights in an adorable covered outdoor space, the inside is a house that has been remodeled into a restaurant, and the decorative touches are unique and add to an overall great ambiance. Unfortunately for Flamant, concept and decor are not enough for a restaurant. The service was not good. I wouldn't say "bad," because the servers were not outright rude, but they were inattentive and slow, and overall every interaction was awkward. Our starter cheese board was expensive and tiny. There were two sad slices of average bread to go along with the tiniest hunks of cheese I have ever seen. Since this was the beginning of the meal and everything did TASTE good, we were happy at this point. Then we get to the main course. Not only did we wait 30min to order, but we were hoping to put in additional appetizers and salads before entrees. We ordered the Blue Crab Rolls, Potato Croquettes, two salads, and because of the timing, we put in our entrees as well: Steak Frites, the burger, the lamb entree, and the sweet potato noodle entree. Clearly, we ran the gamut of basic dishes to more inventive and unique options. I cannot emphasize enough that the service is not the reason for the one star. I know what it feels like to be a server and it is hard to know timing right when you start. The one star rating is because, after the LONG wait and having ALL of our food come out at the same time, the food was BAD. Objectively bad. We ordered something from every category and the only thing we liked was the potatoes with garlic sauce - and you can't go wrong with garlic! The lamb was soggy and 95% fat without meat. The sweet potato noodles were flaccid and tasteless. The crab rolls were hollowed out French fries less the potato. But I was with my in-laws. So. We had to get dessert despite the wait time to order. The cotton cake was not fluffy and the rice pudding was tasteless. Too bad because those are two of my favorites and I don't eat sugar often. The dessert added insult to injury and solidifies my single star review.

Yelp
We got a gift card and tried this place on a Saturday night. Got a reservation for the porch. So nice. Cool menu. Friendly and helpful server. Food was fresh, creative, and delicious! We will definitely go back!

Yelp
4 of us had dinner last night and it was excellent. We love the room with the floor to ceiling windowed doors which they opened during our meal-beautiful evening for it! I started with the cucumber jalapeño margarita and I was disappointed that the rim was just salt and not a spicy or smoky salt, and also that there wasn't much spice to the drink. Maybe my particular jalapeño was unusually mild? I know they are know for their crab rolls, but I was also disappointed with those, the crab flavor was barely discernible, def needed more crab. It's basically a fried wrapper with a nice dip...which isn't bad but I was expecting more crab flavor lol. We ordered a nightly special appetizer which was fish (sorry can't remember which kind) served on romesco sauce with grilled asparagus. SO GOOD! For dinner I had a burger and thought it was excellent. I would go back for that. My husband had whole grilled branzino and oh man it was really really excellent (and we order this everywhere). I'm thinking Flamant does a great job with fish. As far as service, I did feel that there were times it had been too long without a check in from the server. We did find her delightful, and I believe they did not have many servers working (after all it was a Monday), so we didn't mind very much. She was busy, it's not like she was talking or checking her phone, probably just an unusually busy Monday and therefore slightly understaffed. Overall we would definitely go back to Flamant and had a great time.

Yelp
Great wine, well thought out menu and ambiance is lovely. West Annapolis has a go-to spot and we're pretty happy about this one.

Yelp
Learned about this restaurant from the 2019 Washingtonian 100 list - restaurant relatively new, been open for about two years. This not being anywhere near us we finally had a chance to go when returning from a trip to the Eastern shore. Location is in west Annapolis so more of a residential neighborhood, much easier to get to if driving as there is some parking on site as well as on street. We got there fairly early on a Saturday evening but it started to fill up around 6 pm. It's in a pretty house with big windows and a front patio with metal garden tables and fire pit circled by Adirondack chairs. There is also a large wooden table on the side that can accommodate 8. Inside the light filled small dining room is kind of L shaped, with a semi open kitchen facing the entrance. Spacing is good and the hard wood banquettes along the windows are comfortable - the corners for two are especially nice. Decor is contemporary, color scheme in light blue and white with light blond colored wooden furniture, providing a very pleasant, relaxed and casual feel. Menu is not extensive but has some interesting dishes, especially the starters and snacks. We had the zucchini flower which was excellent (it's probably one of the most popular as just about every other table ordered it), a sirloin steak which came in a cast iron pot with very tasty stewed veggies, and Arctic char - steamed wrapped in spinach - this one not as good as expected as it's very bland - Would have been better to just order a couple of appetizers and snacks rather than a disappointing entree. For dessert we had something which had the shape of a large flat donut and texture of profiterole filled with a smooth peanut butter cream, quite tasty although it was more like pastry for breakfast than dessert. Overall an attractive neighborhood restaurant with nice dining environment and atmosphere. A bit on the expensive side - easily $50/pp average before tip.

Yelp
I love this place. But the $25+ per person charge just to make a reservation is unwarranted. The $ is supposed to be reimbursed when you dine, but doesn't show up on your check. Their website says "100% of this charge is applied to your final tab." THIS IS NOT TRUE! You get a refund but it can take up to 7 days to be processed. This ruined an otherwise wonderful dining experience. Food was excellent. Service just adequate. 2 stars.

Yelp
Flamant is excellent! It's romantic, classy, welcoming, warm, homey, and so much more. We visited for dinner when we stayed in Annapolis for a weekend in May. It's not on the Main Street of Annapolis, as many of the popular restaurants in Annapolis are. It's a bit further away (about 10 minutes in an uber), but totally worth a visit! It's perfect for a date night for sure ;) Service was excellent from start to finish and our waiter was very helpful in assisting us select our dishes. The restaurant is small, but that makes it even more cozy. Between the two of us, we ordered the following dishes: -Maryland Blue Crab Rolls (old bay, gin dip). This was crispy, crunchy, and delicious -Burrata (kumata tomatoes, balsamic granita, kale foccaccia). This was an amazing explosion of flavors in each bite! -Seafood Board (oysters, clams, squid, soft shell crab, fingerling potato, fennel). I ordered this as my main course and absolutely loved the variety of seafood. The squid came in a calamari steak form and I LOVE that! So tender! I also loved the way the clams were seasoned. Everything about this dish was perfect. -Hangar Steak (olive stuffed, pepperade sauce, pearl onion, spinach). My husband was not in as much of a seafood mood, so he ordered this, but also really liked it. Very generous portion and full of flavor! All in all, we had an excellent experience at Flamant! We loved the food, the service, the ambiance, etc. It definitely is deserving of its place on the Washingtonian Top 100 list. I would certainly love to visit again and it's worth venturing away from the downtown Annapolis area to check this place out!

Yelp
Read the WPost reviews and must have been there on a bad night. Service great. Atmosphere farmhouse fabulous. Food...not so. The escargot donuts were do-nots being bland and flavorless mush. There was no cohesiveness in flavor or function between the coating and filling. The sauce they were served with was sparse and stuck to the decorative greens and was the only real flavor. The entree menu seemed uninspired and flavors confusing when they arrived. The mussels were served in an inordinately deep pot that made it a chore to eat and lacking any flavor. Garlic bread would have been preferred over the fries. The steaks were over cooked and tough to cut and a salt bomb with the additional sauce. Why? Was it necessary? We were surprised that we all left disappointed.

Patrick F.

Yelp
The food was expensive and nothing special. Service was fine but again for the price was not exceptional. Everything was just ho hum. Not impressed would not return.

Lawry F.

Yelp
Another amazing meal. Chicken Wellington and moules frites. Just great. And the duaphine potatoes and crab rolls are out of this world. Back room is so warm. Service is great.

Dennis D.

Yelp
Amazing food. Fine dining in a chic casual location. The drinks were very generous and the staff was incredible.

Kari F.

Yelp
Fabulous dinner! Attentive, friendly and informative server (Christine). We've been out of Annapolis for awhile and happy to return and find Flamant flourishing. Love the ambiance here and how they have adapted over the years to continually perfect this neighborhood gem. Christine was spot on with her suggestions: the crab rolls where crisp and delicious. Loved the grilled squid with crispy kale. My husband ordered the sous vide salmon with spinach (so good) and though I intended to order another fish dish, Christine raved about the oven roasted carrot dish with tabbouleh. Wow! So good and I am so grateful for that suggestion. If I order something different next time I will order the carrot dish as a side for the table. If you are a foodie, this is the place to go in Annapolis.

Dan N.

Yelp
One of the worst dinners I've ever had. I and the party I hosted were gravelly disappointed in the dishes. Unenjoyable.

Margaret W.

Yelp
Excellent kitchen for Pub. We've been There only twice, but both times we we're impressed. Drink choices are wide and come quickly.A good choice for place near home. We sat last time outside, but in a very protected spot.

Marykate M.

Yelp
Amazing food, atmosphere, and drinks. But, most importantly, the service was AMAZING. Jules was so sweet and professional and knowledgeable. She made the experience one to remember and we will absolutely be going back and recommending her in the future!

Aaron K.

Yelp
July 2023, a nice restaurant with a laid back sensibility, in West Annapolis. Escape the typical tourist crowds and urban parking, for nice eurocentric menu with good service and a relaxed, cozy, bistro feel. The menu is 4 $$$$ pricey. The quality of food and service are consistent with the prices. A very good Anniversary Dinner evening. Had dinner last night and already have recommended it a friend.

Kathy G.

Yelp
Went here for our anniversary and they did not disappoint. Their outdoor patio is darling with lots of charm. Quiet, candles at each table, nice lighting. Inside has a lovely vibe as well, love that their kitchen is so open and beautiful. We order appetizers, entrees and desert. Everything was delicious, our server Austin was patient/informative and relatable. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I had no idea a place like this existed in Annapolis and I am elated to know it's here now!

Elaine F.

Yelp
Wow! This is the best food I have eaten in ages. Flamant is in a smaller house, but the space has been opened up and modernized so that it has a lovely ambience, around a central open kitchen. There are so many tasty things on the menu that it is very hard to choose. We tried several starters: the croquettes are to-die-for. The blue crab rolls are light and ethereal, with a good amount of crab and a heavenly sauce. We also tried the grilled oyster special (the best cooked oysters I have ever had), and the suckling pig tart. For my main, I had the chicken schnitzel and my friend had the grilled sardines. We watched other lovely dishes go by, and the presentation was outstanding for each item. We had wine by the glass (very reasonable) and we shared a raspberry cobbler-type dessert. They checked in on us frequently so both the food and the service are top notch. This is the kind of place one would be tempted to keep as a private secret, but they deserve the recognition. Amazing meal!

Sterling G.

Yelp
OMG! Amazing food! Lovely little place. Great staff. We were brought there by locals and the staff knew them! Bright, open restaurant, good wine list. Really fabulous food! Every thing we had was great!

Steven T.

Yelp
Excellent place to have a meal with great cocktails. The first time there our waiter was fairly new but energetic and was a lot of fun. The food and drinks were on point.

Harold Kent H.

Yelp
What a gem of a find in Annapolis. Went to celebrate my 30th birthday with my partner upon the strong recommendation of Annapolis Waterfront Hotel's concierge and boy they did not disappoint. The tasting menu was very balanced and wine pairings were very holistic. Worth the splurge

Michael S.

Yelp
Overpriced; desserts were burnt; food was under flavored; added mandatory 22% gratuity on a party of 2. Pretentious and underwhelming.

Sara E.

Yelp
Hands down, the best restaurant in Annapolis. As a business owner and patron to many restaurants in the area (my boyfriend and I LOVE good quality food) we probably come here once a month. We never feel bad about spending the money either, because it's created and made with great care. They always can make something gluten free for me as well, which is pretty awesome. I've had just about everything on each menu this year (with the exception of the new one!) and it's always good. Sure, not everything is always exactly my favorite BUT that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the experience of trying such great & creative dishes. For the most recent menu, I recommend the blue crab rolls, the meatballs (love the little egg inside!) lamb t-bone is to die for with the polenta! If they put the veal shank back on the menu in the fall, it's unreal and the marrow just melts in your mouth! The duck burger is for ANYONE! It's a show stopper and is beyond delish. I did read a review where it was stated that the food is bland- wrong. I don't think I've had a bland thing there! As for the staff, chef - always so accommodating and kind. We love them and know them by name! They always greet us and we usually get a wave from the open kitchen... which is my favorite part. I love watching them Make the food. The atmosphere is great. The lighting & music is just right. The back dining room is cozy and inviting. Just go, you won't be disappointed. Pro tip- make a reservation on Friday/Saturday nights.

Athena B.

Yelp
We went here for restaurant week, which is probably the only time I'll ever go here cuz I'm not a fancy eater and spending $50 a person could really put a dent in my wallet, but it's definitely a nice place with gorgeous decor, the friendliest staff and yummy food. I got the carrot-ginger risotto as my appetizer and that was probably my favorite course! I completely forgot it was carrot-ginger because it basically looked and tasted like Mac n cheese. I thought I was having some sort of cheese risotto. If you're not a fan of carrot or ginger, you definitely can't taste it in this dish! The bread thing in the center was also a great addition to this dish. I also ordered the Belgian fries, which honestly tasted like McDonald's to me, but I'm not complaining! And it was a very large serving of fries, more than I'd expect from a fancy place. And IT CAME WITH MAYO!! My absolute fave! I had it for the first time in Holland years ago, and wished that America would develop this way of serving fries. But I guess I'll just have to settle for dining at European restaurants to get this (cuz it tastes nothing like actual mayo, so I'm not just going to order mayonnaise at any restaurant). For my main course I got the cauliflower strudel, and while nothing about it wowed me as far as the flavor, it was still a great dish for a vegetarian and I was actually full by the time I finished it, which is not often the case of fancier restaurants because of the small servings. And I think the fries definitely helped with this. For dessert, I got the Dame Blanche, which was pretty small, but still good! You could taste the bourbon (or whatever alcohol it said it contained) and I think this combined with the chocolate mousse would've been the ultimate dessert. All in all, I won't be dining here much (mainly because of the price). But I was glad to try it out. This was the cutest restaurant, the decor was amazing. We were in the room with the real fireplace, and it felt so homey. Whoever decorated that place can come over and decorate my house! The only thing that wasn't amazing was the bathroom. I'm huge on bathrooms and when a place has nice decor, I expect the bathroom to be as nice. But the sink was dirty and looked like a basement laundry room sink. But I mean, you're not going here for the bathroom anyway, right? The last comment I want to give, is that the waiters are amazing! Very attentive, polite and deserving of a nice tip!

Michael M.

Yelp
Flamant quietly underwent a transformation early this year and is now a full-fledged Bistro. We loved the "old" Flamant so were worried, but for no reason! The menu is more straight-forward, having moved away from the tasting menu format. That said, many of the items that took Flamant into the top tier of area restaurants are still available ala carte, and they continue to impress with several non traditional options (such as escargot donuts, Carbonade (Belgian beer and beef stew)) and more. Steak frites are de rigeur in a bistro and that is my fave entree on the menu so far (menu will change at least seasonally I'm told). They make excellent foie gras and pate and while the foie gras wasn't on the menu last time, there was a solid country pate. Give the new look a try; based on how busy it was last time we were there, your friends and neighbors apparently are already!

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful! Birthday celebration. I can't say enough. The food was wonderful, the service was exceptional! A very special night. Thank you.

Hannah S.

Yelp
Overpriced, underdeveloped flavors, poor service. Sat in covered add-on area, which they tried decorating nicely, but the ambiance is off (felt like a temporary structure). Major letdown.

Ocean F.

Yelp
If you like paying New York and London prices in a townhouse in Annapolis Maryland, then "Flamage" is your ticket, complete with heaping spoonfuls of delusionsal grandeur. If you have more money than taste, as many Annapolitans aspire to, then this is your place. Pretentious, mediocre, and disposable income absorbing.

Alison M.

Yelp
I was here on Saturday for lunch. It was Perfect! The decor, service and food exceeded my expectations which were pretty high! It's a lovely addition to the Annapolis dining options and is going to be my new go to. There is something about the height of the ceilings, the light and the natural elements that make it bright and airy while still feeling welcoming. The service was very attentive without feeling fake or overbearing. I highly recommend Flamant and am not sure what restaurant I could recommend over this.

Jennic M.

Yelp
Yum! We finally got around to trying Flamant and now wish we went sooner. Delicious, inventive food served in a cozy atmosphere. The menu has a range of selections, and the wine menu is very good. Flamant has an outdoor eating area with a fire pit which many people were enjoying on an early Fall night. Parking is on the street but there are plenty of spaces in this area of West Annapolis. We will definitely be adding Flamant into our restaurant rotation.

Rob B.

Yelp
Oh so cute and and anything looking to achieve higher caliber in Naptown should be encouraged and the hamlet of WANP is well deserving! It seems they space out the seating as I am sure the kitchen is very small. We tried a taste, the crab "sticks" WONDERFUL! Then tried the "smalls" the scallops and the duck confit which was far from small but GOOD. Then the mains the beef filet and the chicken, MIXED. The dishes seemed to be solidly a 10 and 8 or a 6. An uneven dinner but it hasn't been open long. Service was outstanding. We will be back. FYI very expensive for the portions.

Deirdre L.

Yelp
Flamant teleported us to the South of France. For a brief moment, we forgot that we were dining in Annapolis, Maryland. The dishes are well-balanced and made with the freshest ingredients. The Chef took great care in preparing our meal and that was evident in the taste, consistency and presentation. The service was outstanding. Almost worthy of a Michelin star.

Winfrey N.

Yelp
This is definitely a foodie's spot. We were warned upon entering by an exiting patron that the portions are small so order a lot if hungry (meaning extra $$$). The exhibition kitchen view from the dining area was a nice touch. However, we found the table intended for two was uncomfortable for our party of three. The tables also offer little to no leg/foot room for patrons-if you're tall, forget it. We had wine, starters, entrees, and dessert, so we were seated for a considerable amount of time, and spent a good chunk of money, so the cramped feeling was noted and unappreciated by all. The layout of the tables in the quaint location made the dining experience difficult as we struggled to converse while also overhearing other people's inappropriate dinner conversations. The flavors and presentation of the food was great! The whole dining experience will hopefully improve with time for this budding restaurant.

Natalie R.

Yelp
Flamant has very friendly staff and a great atmosphere, however the execution is lacking. Food looks beautiful, but the flavor falls short. It needs a few tweaks to make it taste as good as it looks. This place would benefit from one extra person on the wait staff plus a busser to tend to water and other little details. We found ourselves without water multiple times in one meal, while several old dishes sat on our table as new courses came out. I can enjoy better food at home and would only return out of curiosity to see if they've upped their game. If you are someone who is dazzled by looks and goes out to eat for atmosphere, then this place is for you. If you care about flavor over presentation, then enter at your own risk.

Marissa O.

Yelp
Wow-wonderful! So many great things about Flamant. Very clean lines, simplistic vibe. I would say on the causal side as far as attire, yet elegant if that makes sense. The restaurant is small, but our small group didn't mind. We had an awesome table next to the window looking into the kitchen. That was a really fun touch to the place. We ended up trying quite a few things on the menu: Tuna Nicoise- table favorite Escargot spread- table favorite Asparagus Lobster- great flavors Crab rolls Sous vide (friend chicken)- absolutely fantastic! This dish was everything you could have wanted. There was a delicious sauce underneath that really added something extra to the fish that I loved. Veal shank- (I did not order) but the two sharing it could not stop raving about how great it was. Pineapple Coconut Ravioli- was demolished within minutes. Belgian chocolate- great flavors, a tad more rich than the other. The service was not lacking in any way. The staff was extremely helpful and paired the wines perfectly with the dishes. Don't skip out on the drinks- they have a great selection. We were all happy to make the drive from DC to try it out. We will certainly be back!

Bruce M.

Yelp
What an amazing find! I was in Annapolis for my girlfriend's birthday celebration weekend and it could not have been better! There was so much charm and ambiance, and phenomenal service! The welcome snacks (escargot tartlettes, rabbit terrine w/ plum, chicken croquettes) were out of this world! And the main courses ( I had the Moulard Duck w raspberry wine sauce) could easily have been served at a Michelin star. Loved the Watermelon Sugar cocktail! Perfect way to celebrate - the food and service tonight was so good I almost want to cry. I wish I lived closer. Will definitely be back! Hats off to the chefs, platers and our awesome server, Camilla!

Yelp
Wow. That's the review. Flamant has grown up, found its voice, the recent addition of a 4 course tasting menu has paid off, as the kitchen is no longer playing it safe, but instead is at the top of its game. The menu changes frequently, but the most recent menu, included standouts of a foie gras and prosciutto millefeuille and perfectly seared scallops aside of tomatillo laced sweetbreads. Desserts have also improved with the shift in focus, and the recent clafoutis was outstanding. Not only easily the best fine dining in Annapolis, but for many miles around.

Yelp
Very enjoyable romantic mid-week dinner, our first time at this Belgian bistro. Beautiful setting in a quiet location East of city center. The limited menu suggests focus and excellence and we were not disappointed. We started with some delicious hamachi, and a very good octopus dish, accompanied by prosecco, followed by a perfectly grilled branzino and a bavette (flank) steak, in combination with a stellar Pomerol. Our server was very professional, as was the reception. Already looking forward to returning for the good food, nice vibe and great wine list.

Yelp
We booked Flamant since it was advertising a Father's Day brunch, which never really materialized. The first disappointment was no breakfast tea, being English this was not a great start for us. The second disappointment was the pastry basket. The pastries were frozen on the inside and burnt on the outside. We politely informed a very lovely waitress who apologized (but still charged us for them). The third disappointment was the cold crepes and bacon. The kitchen hadn't bothered to heat the plates and so everything arrived slightly cold. We decided at this point that, despite the restaurants chic appearance, it wasn't a well managed kitchen and just to eat and go. (I also order a lavender yogurt parfait and couldn't taste the lavender...) The restaurants promised a good experience based on its appearance and pricing structure, but we were very disappointed with the quality of food. It probably survives on its convenience for the local community. Father's Day wasn't acknowledged at all.

Yelp
We found this restaurant via recommendation. A small, Belgian restaurant, reservations are recommended. The decor is... I'd call it quaint. The seating in our room was a little uncomfortable on the benches, but the pillows helped a lot, and by the end of the meal it qas no longer a factor. (we sat in a corner, so no chairs) I like the bathroom design very much as well, especially the oversized sink. We had crafted cocktails the Framboise Fizz is recommended by my girlfriend, and it was tasty. I had the Elder Fashion and it was good. The bread was crusty and good, grilled only on one side, although for my pepper-loving palate, the olive oil was underseasoned. It is a high quality olive oil by the taste. Crab rolls were an appetizer - very good choice, if I say so myself. The gin sauce is interesting; I couldn't really taste it but I was drinking a gin drink... my girlfriend said the flavor was noticeable. The wrapping was stellar, whatever it is. My girlfriend ordered the warm egg and bacon salad, and it was excellent. I ordered the lacquered cornish hen and enjoyed it very much - still tender, and the mustard spaetzle was nicely flavored. The potato croquettes were fine - not spectacular, and a little filling, but tasty. Desserts - I had the flan, and I found it outstanding. The apple flavor was perfect, and the buckwheat puffs really enhanced the dish. My girlfriend had the goat cheese "tart" (ask your server to describe it before you order it) and it was good. I hope they move it to the menu, because we thought it would be better as an appetizer. Service was great, almost TOO good. Our server, Taylor, was incredibly attentive and made no noticeable mistakes. The host/owner was present without being overbearing. I thought food service was a mite slow but not unbearably slow. There was only one issue that was worth noting - for some reason, the salt was in the black-bottomed shaker, and the pepper was in the white-bottomed container. Overall, this was an excellent meal. A small note is that we came right at beginning of service; it may be a little tight during a rush. Also, since the menu rotates, this review may self-destruct in the spring. Definitely recommended, and will return.

Yelp
We recently visited Flamant for an anniversary dinner--tired of trekking to DC and Baltimore for special occasions, we found it to be an exceptional little restaurant. Really a hidden gem and worth the trip from Howard County. I wish there were a few more places of this caliber in Annapolis. Unfortunately, most of what's in this town-- which is also my hometown, so I feel OK saying this--is mediocre at best. We showed up a few minutes early and were promptly seated. The seating is a little tight but each of our neighboring tables were pleasant and we had a good time raving about each other's dishes throughout the meal. At one point, I was half expecting the couple on my left to offer us a bite of their suckling pig tart. Sadly, they did not. But it was that kind of vibe. Our server was on point. Don't remember her name, but she was super helpful when it came time to make selections, and we never felt as if we were forgotten about or left adrift. We don't drink, so we asked for a couple of mocktails instead, and she was happy to accommodate our nebulous descriptions of "something spicy" and "sweet and tart." ‍. When the desert menu came and my wife essentially told her to "show me the chocolate," she totally went off menu for us.. The food was equally stellar. I won't bother detailing each bite. They were all good, but I have to say the braised lamb was impressive. Served family style with crispy kale (we ordered croquets too), we devoured the whole dish. It was decadent. The pea and shrimp dish was also a highlight. Giving 5 stars because it is far superior to most other options in the city, and I'd totally go back.

Yelp
Came here for my Mother's birthday which the staff was informed of in advance. Took 1 hour to get drinks, another hour to get our food all the while our waitress barked at us continuously like a cafeteria lady. Insanely rude. Food finally arrived and it was all disgusting. Honestly the worst meal I have had in years. I have had better meals at food trucks. Save your $.

Yelp
The view from 10,000 feet: beautiful spot, kind servers, beautifully plated dishes, many of which didn't taste good. We wanted to love this place! After reading the reviews in Wapo and elsewhere, we were super excited to give it a try. Our waiter was awesome, as were the cocktails. The high notes were a gazpacho with sous vide watermelon that knocked our socks off and a garden vegetable salad that was the surprise, delightful highlight (despite its uninteresting menu description). There were *many* misses. The worst miss was the artichokes. They were so poorly prepared that we each had a small pile of too-grainy-to-chew refuse on our plates, despite having been counseled that it was all edible. The trout roe needs something to keep it from just being roe and egg on a potato chip. The house-made sausage came with lentils that tasted like lentils if you just boiled them and served them unseasoned. The tempura veggies on the squid ink risotto were delightful, but the risotto itself was so crunchy that we almost sent it back. We shared everything, and in each case, we ended up thinking, "if anyone back there actually tasted this dish, there's no way they would serve it." The desserts were **sensational**. I'd go back for that chocolate dessert and a cocktail anytime, and I'm rating Flamant at 3 stars because of these bright spots and the kind interactions we had with all of the staff. But they've gotta get quality under control in the kitchen.

Yelp
This was, hands-down, the best meal we have had in the area since we moved here 3 years ago. The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent. The Covid protocols on place were properly done and made me feel secure. We will come back soon!
