Flame

We had an amazing meal in Flame after our City Hall wedding ceremony. Sarah Jane was so helpful from the very beginning, nothing was too much trouble and the whole day went without a hitch. The food was phenomenal, and everyone loved it. There are also lots of menu options for vegetarian a dietary requirements. Thank you to everyone in Flame that made it so special!

Really enjoyed our meal at Flame – it’s a solid choice for a night out in Belfast city centre! The ribeye and the wagyu burger were standouts. The atmosphere is buzzy and fun, with friendly staff who were attentive without being over the top. Good location near the main spots, making it easy for pre-theatre or casual dining. Overall though, great food, vibe, and service, we’d happily return and recommend it for steak lovers or anyone wanting a reliable grill spot in Belfast! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great dining experiance. Quality of food excellent service was 1st class espically the main lady who showed us to our table. Cocktails are wonderful . Would highly recommend and can't wait for are next day in belfast to get some dinner here

The food was very good overall. Loved the steak and it was cooked as told however the garlic butter sauce was average and also the sweet potato fries had a lot of salt on them. Salt should not be added on the fries, the customers can add as per their taste. The cheesecake slice was also good not too sweet and not too bland.

A really great lunch time venue and likely just as good later in the day. Quick service, delicious food (I had pasta, though friends loved their steaks too). Lovely atmosphere thanks to the open design and stylish and maybe slightly quirky furnishings. The open flame on entry is something I want in my own room!

Great atmosphere and interior design. Salmon was cooked to perfection; definitely one of the best I’ve had. My Partner was also very happy with his ribeye steak (cooked medium). Cocktails, dessert and starter were also unbelievable. Drinks menu is extensive to suit everyone’s tastes. Staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Where to start…. You walk into a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere surrounded by tasteful decor. The menu offers something for everyone whilst not being too extensive. I opted for the 8oz fillet cooked rare and to perfection, with the addition of garlic king prawns that were juicy and full of flavour. Chunky chips and a pepper sauce for a side. All delicious. Restrooms were clean and fresh which is a must for myself. The staff are very attentive and immaculately presented, keen to make sure your experience is the best it can be. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed. I would definitely dine here again.

It was over 40 years since I was in Belfast and was delighted to see the huge changes that have happened since that time. Flame is a perfect example of these changes. Received excellent service and was very happy with the quality, quantity and price of my meal. Best wishes for the future.

We dined here as part of a large group with limited menu options because of our group size. I started with the onion pakora . My wife had the chicken liver patee. We both enjoyed our starters. We both had had ribeye steaks. While not the most tender steaks we've ever had, they were cooked to order and quite flavorful. My wife loved her French Martini and I found the raspberry Gin Collin's very refreshing. The service we received was excellent especially for a very large group. I think the special grill they use kept the restaurant quite warm. It felt refreshing to get outside into the cool air after we left. Overall it was a very positive dining experience.

Stopped in here on a busy Monday night. The place was nicely decorated modern. The servers were pleasant. I ordered a ribeye medium rare with a shrimp add on and chimichurri sauce on the side. It was cooked adequately and the shrimp and sauce were good but The cut of meat was very poor with plenty of gristle. For the price, I expected better. My wife enjoyed her monkfish with rice. Meals and drinks were pricey for the overall experience.

Absolute rip off for the money the steaks were no where near as good as they should be and the chips were nice but 40 pound for steak and chips is in acceptable and not also that it would be good if the outside of my steak wasn't burnt to the crisp absolute disgrace

Our hotel, Grand Central Hotel - Belfast, recommended that we try this restaurant Flame. We read some of the reviews, but they are old. The menu and food are totally different from the previous review. The ambient is very lively, and the service was great and attentive. They did accommodate us, even though we do not have any reservations. I had fish and chips, while my wife had their pork belly. The fish was hugh as yiu can see the picture. The pork belly was very good, I provided you with the top and side view of the course. They also have a good selection of steak and vegan food see menu.

Not a bad spot on Belfast's main strip near city hall. I enjoyed my fish and chips, and the service was alright but the potatoes were very undercooked, which was rather fatal to the meal since they cut their chips so thick. I loved the cod and their rendition of tartar sauce though!

We went here because they vegan options . They were good but not the best . Pancakes were dry , no butter served with them or syrup . Service was just ok. Server never came back to see if we wanted a coffee refill . They were apparently getting ready for lunch crowd but we had a reservation and thought we'd be given better service since it wasn't that busy . I wouldn't give this establishment more than 3 stars over all.

I'm not a huge fan of Flame but returned yesterday, Thursday 19 May 2016 as some friends wished to try it. Five of us visited for an early dinner and availed of the £15 for two course Pre-Theatre Menu. Decor, service and wine was mostly good but both Pre-Theatre and Main Menu a big let down with only one Vegetarian main of gnocchi on offer. Sadly there was no separate Vegetarian menu. Even worse, my pet hate of not having Vegetarian options clearly marked was also present. I hate this - how difficult is it for a restaurant to put a (v) beside a few dishes on a menu?! Obviously it's too difficult for Flame or else they just can't be bothered. However our server advised of the couple of Vegetarian starters and one main available to me. I ordered potato and leek soup for starter which was tasty, although I didn't like the accompanying 'artisan' bread which did not compliment the soup at all (too spicy and a bit undercooked and doughy). My main of potato gnocchi with butternut squash, pine nuts, spinach, garlic cream and tomato tapenade wad good and a generous portion. Overall nice, filling food, just nothing amazing. Unfortunately one of our party had to wait over five minutes for her main after the rest of us had been served which was extremely poor. She was the one person who hadn't ordered a starter and was thus very hungry by the time we got our main meals. This was not good at all. It's a shame, as with a few small changes Flame could be a very good restaurant. Unfortunately they are currently making some glaring mistakes. I had previously reviewed Flame giving them 3 stars but am dropping them to 2 stars due to the extremely bad Vegetarian options and poorly timed serving of dishes. I doubt I'll return...

Utterly rude! I didn't have any reservations, but I walked into the restaurant where it was completely empty and the front desk hostess man didn't even attempt to try to look for a table. This restaurant was recommended by our private tour guide, but after that encounter, I wouldn't recommend others to even bother.

I stopped in while on a walk to just glance at the menu to see how different it was from the traditional Irish fare. I was encouraged when I saw that they appeared to be pushing the limits on the Irish Menu held so sacred on this island. So, tonight we went back and actually ate there. I was blown away! Not only did it offer a truly upscale, metropolitan menu, it was cooked and plated to perfection! My wife and I had the sea bass with basil risotto and beet pesto, and our friends had the pork chops. Both we to die for! The service was incredible as well! This is easily one of the finest restaurants in Belfast! Don't just treat yourself, treat yourself well with a meal at Flame!

Set along a stretch with several nice restaurants, it was my brother's choice to go here, and when you are being treated it's only fair to let them choose. The menu is varied, with a decent selection for vegetarians and Celiac, but as they pride themselves on their flame cooking, I thought it was only fair to go for a steak. Mine came served with triple cooked chips (which were flawless) and a lovely, creamy peppercorn sauce. The meat was cooked well, but it wasn't awesome quality, and while the whole thing was nice (especially the chips, did I mention the chips..!) I thought it was slightly pricey for what you get. But hey, I wasn't paying, the staff were lovely and the interior is pretty cool. All in all, while it didn't totally light my fire it didn't put it out, and I'll give it another go next time I'm about.

Conveniently located on Howard Street. Super nice setup, clean establishment and good options available if you are up for an authentic Irish meal. My wife ordered Chicken and Black Pudding and loved it. I got me some wings and a burger and it didn't disappoint. Fair prices and service was outstanding. We highly recommend Flame.

Surf and turf is just not worth the price. It was so disappointing to see tiny piece of steak with 3 tiny shrimp and 2 little potato balls. I've had better. If I was to return I would just have the burger next time. The sides were nice.

I dined here on 19th May with 4 friends and my first impressions were this would be a five star experience. However from such high hopes I was left somewhat deflated. They do a pre theatre menu which is good value but by good friend Ciara S was dismayed to find that there was only one vegetarian dish on the whole menu and that included the a la carte!! Very poor when you consider how many people are adopting the vegetarian diet. I had the chicken and bacon Caesar salad to start and it was good big chunks of bacon and chicken but also 2 massive croutons which had to be broken down otherwise you would not have JD that texture in every bite. My main of the bacon burger with caramelised onions was nice to start with but as I progressed the caramelised onion relish was a bit sickening and I soon discovered it hid an overly chargrilled burger underneath. Service was originally good with friendly chatty staff, however this too went downhill when one of our party who only ordered a starter to be brought with our main meals was left for almost 5 mins after our mains were brought before she had anything to eat. So much more could be done to bring this to 5 stars and such simple things to. On the plus side the wine is divine!!

Really great atmosphere and the food was really good. It's not the kind of place you shoukd go to for a romantic dinner date, but if you want a fun night out woth good affordable food, this place should be on your list. Staff were great too. We had a party of 12 and food came very quickly.

Visiting Belfast. Tried this place by walking by. Went in. Place was nice open kitchen. Started with a bread plate with olives. Nice touch. Then had a Hereford Ribeye. Was cooked perfect Medium Rare. Great flavor and tender. Don't walk by this place. Stop in and see Chef Paul. You will be glad you did. Oh chicken wings were also fresh and good.

I feel the food in here is rushed out without much thought. They aren't good at catering for larger groups of 8 plus and staff shout at each other on floor and I could hear the chef being rude to kitchen staff from our table. On the plus side it's a lovely venue and quite clean the food just isn't to my taste.

Great restaurant in the heat of the city. Excellent friendly service. Lamb was delicious as was the pumpkin ravioli. My friend had the rib eye which was also very good. Highly recommend.

Only restaurant opened after 9pm on a Monday night. Loved the eclectic atmosphere. Opened 8 months ago. Desserts looked fabulous will have to try another time. Had the fish and chips and The Platter. Very flavorful but chicken dry. The yogurt sauce was delicious.

It's a nice space. Hip. Welcoming. But the food doesn't match up. Tandoori prawns were overpriced at 9 pounds and didn't have much flavor at all. The fish and chips were stale. The portion of peas was miniscule. The tartar sauce was from the bottle, not homemade. Mediocre.

A friend brought us here during a visit to Belfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great food - especially the burgers - and excellent service. Hope we get to return soon.

Really good surf and turf!!!! We just wandered in while exploring Belfast and we are glad we did. Drinks and dessert were fab also.

Excellent food and service. We were 3 adults 2 kids.Adult meals were tasty and kid meals perfect. Service was also very good . Nice selection of beers and wines with full bar. Was busy but no waiting for table.

Absolutely awful experience last night. Who told these people they could cook !!! Lamb was inedible , tough and tasteless. Served on a bed of poorly cooked barley. Steak was tough and tasteless. So if you want to part with hard earned money for a very poor experience then go ahead. I certainly won't be back !!!

Can't tell if it was because I was extremely hungry or this place was really that good. "Comfort food" is the term that waiter used to describe the meal 3/4 chose to get. After a long flight across the pond I was hungry and ready to eat. Only a walks away from the hotel and a recommendation from the hotel desk clerk; we decided to give it a try. We were immediately seated and greeted the minute we stepped through that door. Dark pub feel when walking in. The kitchen is in view for everyone to sit and watch as they prepare the meals which is nice because you know there won't be any schneigans! The waiter was friendly and asked us what we would like to drink. I was in Ireland so of course I had to order a Guinness! Being the tourist that I am of course I had to get the special "Guinness Burger" that the waiter recommended. It was a sausage burger with caramelized onions and some sort of Guinness Sauce. Spectacular! Hit the spot and left me full and almost in a food coma. The fries were great as well and the service was friendly and attentive overall. Oh! And how could I forget about the Squid! Great fried appetizer with nothing but all around great flavor! Solid 4 star location and a great spot to come in grab a beer and a burger without having to worry about leaving hungry or dissatisfied.

Stayed close to flame and ate there for dinner twice. The service was very good and the food was served quickly and exactly as ordered. They have a decent wine selection and the atmosphere is great for a group of friends to enjoy a meal. If I return to Belfast, Ill probably return to Flame.

I attended as part of a group of 10 over the Christmas period when the restaurant was particularly busy - with the quality of service suffering as a result. The interior is beautiful and the food was satisfactory so we would be willing to try again and update another time.

Visited Flame at lunch time. Food was lovely but a bit on the expensive side compared to similar places. There were not very many customers there when we arrived but it took half an hour for someone to bring us a menu. I found the staff were not very friendly. A few English people were sitting at the table next to us and they also thought the service was terrible. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Great food lovely staff.we had a great night out in it.was a perfect night. Good value for money. We shall return.
