The Everglades Is One of America's Most Overlooked National Parks—Why You Should Visit

"The park-authorized concessionaire operates a lodge and restaurant, a set of glamping tents, houseboats and campsites, and also rents bikes, canoes and kayaks while offering boat rentals and tours—effectively providing on-site lodging, dining and watercraft access for exploring Florida Bay and nearby backcountry. Its operations anchor the developed cluster of visitor facilities at the park’s southern terminus, including a grocery and tackle store, and help facilitate trips into Whitewater Bay and the mangrove islands." - Stanley Stewart Stanley Stewart Stanley Stewart is a multi-award-winning travel writer and author of three acclaimed books. Did the ATV and snorkeling tour with Martin and although we didn't get to snorkel due to winds, we had an amazing time. Our guide taught us so much, showing up rubber trees and the different beaches. We swam, relaxed, and got to see so much of the area. He took photos for us and treated us like old friends. Highly recommend for any adventure they offer.

There was a brief moment of miscommunication when we arrived at La Leona Waterfalls about what our booking included, but after that was cleared up, we enjoyed the most magical adventure ever! Whether you decide to do just La Leona, or include the full day combo tour(which included zip lining, horseback riding, tubing, mud bath and hot springs!) you will not be disappointed! The falls are MAGNIFICENT and my family all agreed it was our favorite part of our entire week in Costa Rica! If you love a more private excursion, try to arrive first thing in the morning. We were the first group to arrive and felt like we had our own private experience, only passing other groups on our way out :)

Fun tour with Darwin! So glad we could change to the first tour of the day! Easy to find and everyone was so friendly!

We had an excellent ATV tour with Flamingo Adventures. We got to ride from the beach coast to the mountain and everywhere in between. We spent about 15 mins swimming in the Beach Cove, which is a nice break at midpoint. Our tour guide Martin (from Argentina) was excellent, very friendly and patient. I would recommend to anybody.

The tour itself was quite nice with some great views. The tour guide was unfortunately a bit dull and consistently on the phone. We missed the snorkeling part of the tour, that we were very much looking forward to. The ATVs were a bit worn. Would do it again with a different guide.

Booked online and communication through whatsapp was easy. We did the Top of the world tour with Edgar. He took us to some beautiful beaches that we hadn't seen yet. Lots of good trails on this adventure and monkeys. It was worth the price.

We had a great time with flamingo adventures despite it being so hot. We got to ride on the beach and because it was so hot our guide Martin let us swim a little to cool off. We then took our ATVs through lots of little towns and up the mountain to see some spectacular views of Guanacaste. We of course made it to the monkey sanctuary that had both caged and uncaged monkeys roaming around. The white face monkeys are so fun to watch. We used our hotel shuttle to get to the town of flamingo which was pricey. We stayed at the JW Marriott which is one hour away. I recommend booking Tamarindo Shuttles instead of using the hotel shuttle way less money and the drivers Rodolfo and Dennis are amazing. You do have to book them in advance to your trip not day of. We used Tamarindo Shuttles for our airport transfers and a day trip to Palo Verde National Park. I recommend flamingo adventures for a fun ride through the Costa Rican Jungle, beaches, and towns. I do think having previous experience driving at ATV is super helpful.

My wife and I really enjoyed this adventure! The guide was great, the horses were well behaved, and the scenery was beautiful. One word of advice, bring a towel or wear pants, especially if you’ve had a little sun on your legs.
