It is an amazing experience! The train by itself is so well-designed, having beautiful atmosphere, and takes you through the Norwegian countryside. The five minutes stops are perfect, you can see the waterfall, and all the way admire the landscape, the church, and typical Norwegian houses. Some about one fifth of the way you are going to spend in tunels, so don’t forget to make all the beautiful pictures before!

It's awesome! Just mind blowing. We had an amazing experience taking a ride Flam to Mardyl this December. Train looks old, but enough comfortable. Windows are wide and clear views can be enjoyable from the window. Both the sides are equally beautiful, and the train stop at a point fos 5 minutes. During our visit, this waterfall was frozen. Book your tickets in advance as it's the best option to reach Mardyl from Flam.

The trip fro Myrdal to flam and return 2 days laters, is definitely in the top three of all our train trip, is was so much fun sitting in the old style cabins, (there was plenty of room, we could constantly swap seats to take in all the views), we had a wonderful stop at the waterfall, we will treated to snow on the return trip. All in all a wonderful experience.

My group trip was planned all around the famous Flam Railway. We headed from Oslo to Myrdal to head to Flam, due to technical issue the train from Oslo to Myrdal got delayed by 2 hrs and we reached Myrdal late and took the next train rather the earlier one to Flam. It was turning dark so we got to enjoy the ride less, we stopped at the waterfall which was frozen....Elsa effect. Not sure if there are other stops too. The train ride was beautiful, breathtaking and I am surely planning another trip in summer.

IMO, an overrated train ride from Myrdal to Flam. The classic train goes up into the mountains and then goes down to the city of Flam. I had so much expectations from this supposedly scenic train journey, considered one of the most picturesque in the world. Unfortunately, with all the tunnels that the train had to pass, there was hardly anything to see. Sure, the train stopped for photos of the waterfall, the highlight of the trip, which in my opinion is just, meh. I didn’t even bother to get out as you can also see it from the train as you continue to move. Hence, don’t go in this train if you’re expecting loads of scenic views. Take the ride if you’re into marvelous engineering. After all, just imagine how they manage to carve out all those tunnels in the mountains.

The Flåm Train is definitely worth the price, even though everything in the area feels a bit overpriced. The beginning of the ride felt a little slow and didn’t quite live up to the hype at first, but it just kept getting better. The scenery becomes truly spectacular — especially when the train stops and you can step out near the waterfall. When we first stopped, the water was pouring down so heavily and loudly that we completely missed the little performance happening nearby! Luckily, on the return trip, the train stopped again, and we got to enjoy the icy mist and actually see the show. It was an unforgettable experience and well worth the journey — I’d love to go back someday.

Wonderful trip from Oslo up to Myrdal to take the Flamsbana to Flåm. The Oslo-Bergen railway was running late but thankfully the Flamsbana waited for us. The trip in each direction was beautiful. There was unreserved seating and a toilet on board. There are video and audio prompts for points of interest on the way.

It was a nice train ride. It’s a good way to get up into the mountains to appreciate the scenery. If you do t go you regret it. It’s too expensive to book through the cruise for what you get. We booked directly through the train and that was a little more reasonable. It was a relaxing ride and if was a pretty round trip tour. Picturesque. The water was low while we were there so no big rushing waterfalls but pretty.
