We went there with no reservations at 8:30pm, got lucky with the table. The food was great and love the design of Flash Flash and the service was great and fast. Absolutely love it.

The restaurant is a hit and miss. The staff themselves are very inviting, energetic and fun to be around. The Buñuelos are the best I’ve ever tasted, with a very airy, crisp outside, and a very smooth, creamy inside with a fantastic, not overwhelming cod flavour. The Falsas bravas were… okay. I mean who doesn’t like French fries? The sauce was a bit disappointing, it was a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise. I’ve also eaten better tortillas elsewhere. They’re not bad, but the onions in mine were a bit too sweet for my liking, and the eggs were a bit overdone. I like mine slightly runny inside. The dessert was a bit too rich for my taste. All in all, it’s an okay place to eat at. I’d go back just for the Buñuelos.

What a great restaurant! Founded in an era when people just wanted to have fun, Flash Flash has kept to this day its wonderful decorations and super comfy seats. The waiters are very professional and have a city attitude: attentive, fast and to the point. The food was just perfect. We shared 3 different types of omelette, which I highly recommend: potatos&iberico del bellota, sopressada&onions and the super good black truffle&cheese. All were creamy and delicious. We also had a portion of baked artichokes (alcachofas al horno) and one of slow cooked pork’s cheek (carrillera de cerdo) Excellent. This restaurant is a must go! Be careful, they don’t take reservations… so you have to try your luck.

You must go to this legendary restaurant bornes in Barcelona during the seventies. Time seems suspended, nothing changed since I’ve first been there in 2012. They have the best quality and variety of omelettes you can dream off. The waiters are beings from another world pretending to be humans but they won’t fool you, they’re all some kind of magical creature.

Went here to try their famous tortilla (egg omelettes) which is an authentic Catalan dish. This place was recommended to me by a local. We tried the Galician Omelette -not spicy at all- and the monty burger -ordered medium cooked but it looked rare. But over all tasty food but a bit pricey for a potato omelette. Very unique, 70’s aesthetic. We went an hour before closing ~4pm and there was no line and many available seating. The staff speak fluent Spanish and English. However she tried to tell us that the tap water isn’t good to drink in Barcelona which isn’t true!!

What a delightful place! We didn’t know what to expect and were not expecting what we got - in the best possible way. Everyone loved their meals: husband had a tortilla with jamon, teenage son had the cadillac burger, and I had a burrata salad from the specials menu. We also shared croquettes and some tomato bread with jamon. Every bite was delicious, service was friendly, atmosphere was fun. It was a fancier evening than we’d expected, but a neat, happy spot with a strong locals vibe. We loved it.

If you want to have something most similar to simulation that’s it. The worst looking food with the worst taste ever is served all over the place and everyone is acting like nothing weird is happening. Felt like a prank. It was so bizzarre that it was hilarious and we ended up having a great time. Cheers!

Google
Iconic restaurant with a page-long tortilla menu. Great for friend dinners as well as date nights. They don’t take reservations, but if you get there early, you get a seat! My recos: any croqueta (ceps, cheese, chicken or Spanish ham), coca con tomate, tortilla excursionista, and… their cheesecake

Yelp
Opened in 1970 by the catalan photographer Leopoldo Pomés this location is still the place to be for young and hip professionals. In its unique white setting with black photographers painted on the wall you have the choice of more than 80 tortillas (Spanish omlettes) and several other simple dishes, such as Hamburger with french fries. Though simple, all are cooked with great care and taste very well. You should also go for one of the homemade delicious desserts. As the prices are not expensive, different types of persons enjoy the place and its speedy service. In the meantime also a Flash Flash restaurant has opened in Madrid.

Yelp
Okay, first of all, I'm a moron and didn't realize that "tortilleria" didn't mean tortillas (as we know them in America)...it meant omelets. So that was a surprise, but we didn't really mind. Read about Flash Flash in a Lonely Planet article (I think), and decided "Hey that sounds like a fun place to eat." It's super retro & 60s inside, lots of black & white paintings of women holding cameras on the walls. The waiters are super dressed up but they all speak pretty decent English to help out the gringos. The food was very good (not great but very good...we were happy) and we enjoyed the experience there. Would go back again upon a future visit to Barcelona.

Yelp
Its the place where old people go thinking that is where the young people hang out. Food was not great and really not that amazing, especially given the area and the cuisine. One person with us tried the four layer torilla cake, which was cold, covered in mayo and otherwise tasteless. I had a normal tortilla with choizo, onion and beans, which was ok, but nothing special. The nice thing was the service ( amazing service by typical Catalan standards). that, along with my tortilla prevented a complete failure (hence 2 stars) We will not be eating there again.

Yelp
What an incredible meal! And it's so nice to NOT be hovered over while eating. The staff allows you to enjoy your meal time and doesn't wait for a the tip.. as we learned, they don't expect a tip, but my sister being from NYC and myself from California.. tipping is second nature.. be trips end, we learned not to leave them.. how extremely hard that was. I guess they think it to be rude.. who knows. Since it being winter, it was so hot and steamy inside, for me.. my sister was completely content. The salad, tortilla, wine, peppers, well everything was perfect! Absolutely loved it. And such a wonderful menu for the vegetarians in you. If you are unable to read Spanish, they have menus in English, just ask, they are all to happy to assist. Would love to visit their swanky restaurant once again! The bathroom was super clean and just as swanky!

Yelp
The decor was cute. The seats are white leather, the walls and tables are white. There are black pictures of the owner (lady) holding a camera everywhere on the walls. The bulbs and lighting is the "FLASH" of the camera. Very cute theme. Bathrooms were bright red and very modern and nice. The food however was TERRIBLE! As husband and I were seated the server brought our olives for us and it was extremely salty. We ordered two "tortilla" (spanish omelets) One with iberian Ham & Cheese and the other was Mac and cheese. It was brought out to us very WATERY and dripping wet. So wet that our omelets were soggy and we were literally slurping. It was so gross we couldnt finish, paid our bill and left.

Yelp
Was greatly surprised by this restaurant. In a usually overpriced location, it offered really good "tortillas" at a very reasonable price. "Croquetes de ceps" and "tortilla de jamón" were also one of the best I've tried.

Yelp
My friend and I had lunch at Flash Flash and got a kick out of the mix of retro/minimalist interior. All black and white with a spot of red being the salt shaker on the table. The black figures painted on the walls "supported" the lighting in a very cool way. Red bathroom was clean and shiny. The service was excellent and friendly, professional and cool. We asked our waiter for his recommendations and he was enthusiastic with his suggestions. And right on! My friend didn't listen to his advice because she fell for the description of the layered omelet and ended up disappointed to find it was cold. (There's no mention of that on the menu.) However, she had no trouble eating the entire portion! My potato and ham omelet was cooked to perfection. Try the typical Catalanian starter of bread brushed with fresh tomato and olive oil - that something so simple can be so delicious!

Yelp
even with our limited diets, we were able to find plenty to eat and dined here three times during our stay. my husband wanted to try every marinated vegetable in the display case (they were mostly crudite style), but the tortillas are the main attraction. we were there around 4 in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. when we were there at lunch or late night, it was super busy. it is obviously a place were many regulars dine and we loved feeling like we were in on a local secret. the decor is 40 years old, but it's kept fresh and feels like a mod mod world. the woman who is depicted in the wall murals with her camera flash being the lights on the walls (brilliant) is the wife of the owner. one of the staff members was kind enough to answer our questions about the history of the restaurant. it's a fun place with great service, fantastic food, and one of a kind decor. even the bathrooms are fabulous. i loved our experience so much, i bought a tee shirt.

Yelp
This is a wonderful non-touristy place. Excellent food, very good service, and very reasonable prices. The street is almost like a back alley across from a parking garage, but don't let the location put you off.
