If you’re after a relaxing coastal camping trip with a side of sleaze, then Flat Rock Tent Park in Ballina is the place for you. Otherwise — RUN.
The facilities were fine (if you like sharing showers with spiders), but the real issue here is Brent, the park manager. Instead of managing the park, he seems to think his job is to manage inappropriate sexual comments and creepy stares. My friend and I were just trying to enjoy our holiday, but Brent made the entire experience deeply uncomfortable with remarks that were gross, unwelcome, and flat-out disgusting.
We came for ocean views and peaceful vibes. We got sleazy innuendos and the kind of awkward encounters you normally need therapy for. If you’re a solo female traveler or with girlfriends — stay away.
Save your money, your sanity, and your dignity. There are plenty of other beautiful, non-predatory places to camp around Ballina.
