Lovely camping spot. Two amenities blocks and a camp kitchen. Some grassy sites, particularly nearest the beach. It's very quiet. Lots of birds - bush turkeys especially, and whip birds. Right on the bike path to Ballina & Lennox Head. We stayed mid week, not sure what weekends are like but it was quiet when we were there. The beach is beautiful, lots of whales close in. $45 a night unpowered.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Flat Rock Tent Campsite in Ballina is an absolute gem! The amenities are clean, well-maintained, and make camping super comfortable. You can’t beat the location — right on the beach with the soothing sound of waves and stunning sunrises. Nature is everywhere here, from the coastal views to the abundant wildlife. Perfect for anyone who loves camping in a peaceful, beautiful setting. Highly recommend for all campers, whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned adventurer!

Flat Rock tent site. The location is amazing. Right on the beach. The park could be amazing as it has decent facilities but it' was very dirty. Rubbish everywhere. No bins through the park. Only 4 general rubbish/Otto bins for whole park...14 recycling bins. The bathrooms were filthy as was camp kitchen. Staff were nice. Camp kitchen had 2 BBQ plates, microwave, toaster, kettle. No laundry facilities.

If you’re after a relaxing coastal camping trip with a side of sleaze, then Flat Rock Tent Park in Ballina is the place for you. Otherwise — RUN. The facilities were fine (if you like sharing showers with spiders), but the real issue here is Brent, the park manager. Instead of managing the park, he seems to think his job is to manage inappropriate sexual comments and creepy stares. My friend and I were just trying to enjoy our holiday, but Brent made the entire experience deeply uncomfortable with remarks that were gross, unwelcome, and flat-out disgusting. We came for ocean views and peaceful vibes. We got sleazy innuendos and the kind of awkward encounters you normally need therapy for. If you’re a solo female traveler or with girlfriends — stay away. Save your money, your sanity, and your dignity. There are plenty of other beautiful, non-predatory places to camp around Ballina.

Stayed here for only 2 nights, it is great for camping trips with family. The place is very clean and the amenities are great as well and there are several firepits as well Toilets and showers in good condition and you can easily walk to the beach. Lots of birds for birdwatching as well. It might get busy during holidays.

Yelp
The views from the look out to the beach are so perfect. You can hear the roar of the ocean from the tent park. Flat rock also has great facilities which are kept clean and tidy. They are also serviced twice a day. If you're looking for a cheap get away it's about $30 for two people per day and $10 per person after that. An excellent park with a big family feel to it where campers help each other out and are extremely friendly.
