We had a very disappointing and disgusting dining experience here in July. We respectfully emailed the owner, we have waited for a reply for which we have not received. We decided to post our email to Mr Johnson for the public to read.
Mr. Greg Johnston ,
We live in Ronan, and often stop at your restaurant when in Big Fork, or on the way home from Kalispell. We like the food, beer, the friendly staff, and sitting out on the deck.
I'm writing to bring an incident to your attention, in case you don't learn of it otherwise. On 7/11/25, mid-afternoon, we dined on your patio. There were 9 of us including my parents who were visiting from Wisconsin, kids, son in law, sons girlfriend, of course my wife, and our 11 week pregnant daughter.
Our pregnant daughter and her husband shared a Greek pizza, and after eating a few slices, a worm wiggled out from INSIDE the pizza, then across the pan. My daughter screamed, then ran to the bathroom to vomit.
We brought it to the attention of our server, she apologized, and at first said it was because we were eating outside, but later said it must have been on the spinach. She took the pizza away and didn't mention the subject again.
Most of the family stopped eating at this time, and either asked for a to- go box, or just left their uneaten food. The check came swiftly, and there was no mention of the preceding worm event. I paid the bill with a 20% tip and we left.
On the way home we discussed what happened. We agreed that we were basically treated like tourists that you'd never have to see again. Instead, we were your Montana neighbors and repeat customers that you'll never GET to see again.
We didn't have to pay for worm pizza. That's it. That and an apology. Looking back on it, it seems like there is a lot more your staff could have done. We're disappointed because we liked your restaurant a lot.
