My first time here and willreturn often. It's always had a great reputation but my first dinner with friends and family. We had cocktails by the fireplace on a cold evening. Followed by an amazing dinner. The wine selection was good. We had a Spanish red that went perfect with everything. The Scallops were perfect. I should have passed on the dessert. Everyone had a great time and the service was spectacular! We live here and will be back often.

It doesn’t get any better than Flathead Lake Lodge. The best family vacation we’ve ever had. The perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, hospitality, beauty and absolute fun for the whole family! The lodge is gorgeous, the activities are numerous and well executed, the food is delicious and the staff is an absolute joy. We would return again and again!

As if the location (right on the lake), the views (breathtaking), the incredible variety of fun activities provided by the lodge, the gourmet meals, and the comfortable cabins were not enough - this is the friendliest, most sincerely hospitable staff I have ever had the pleasure to experience. High praise for the owners, managers, and staff who go out of there way to share their love of this extraordinary place.

Loads of fun! My family and I often go and as always, it exceeded our expectations. We met some amazing people and friends for the week. The food was amazing and I never went hungry, neither did the rest of my family for that matter. All the activities were loads of fun! Being a horse person, I spent most of my time riding horses. Breakfast & steak rides were a plus! I hope to be back soon! Everyone was very helpful and my cousins and I are begging to go back again. My cousins and I would disappear after breakfast and only show up for meal times and it would be hard to get up to stop because it was so fun. All of the staff were amazing. This is an amazing spot for families to hang out and do whatever you wish. You wont regret or forget it.

One of our favorite vacations. Beautiful. Delicious food. Excellent staff. Relaxing but plenty of options: boating, fishing, horseback riding, skeet, painting. Great for families. Book it!

Flathead lake lodge is such an incredible place. We were at one of the adults only weeks and it was wonderful! The staff is so friendly and everyone treats you like family. The lodge takes care of everything. From meals , drinks, activities, and anything else you can think of. The activities are endless! All of the guides had so much knowledge of the area and the wildlife. The elk tour was amazing!

Yelp
I'm still on cloud 9 from my visit so I think now is the perfect time to write this review. We opted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

Yelp
The grounds and property were beautiful. We had a cabin that was loaded with flies. We got rid of what we could it was not a good experience. The sit down dinners except for the steak fry were small in portion. The activity lists and sign up were way lacking in details. The distances, where you meet, and the duration of the activity should be stated to help in decisions. The staff in the office we thought should have some answers about the activities. The cost of the stay did not equal the low points of our stay

Yelp
I've been spending a week here for a few years. Rodeos, horseback trail rides, swimming, campfires and amazing food.. the staff is incredible. As long as I can still walk I'm gonna be spending a week at Flathead Lake Lodge in the summer!

Yelp
My company just spent a week at Flathead Lake Lodge and had a fantastic time. We do a company retreat every 6 months and this was by far our favorite ever. We were a bit nervous as it was our first time not having it in a big city where there were lots of bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues nearby. This actually worked massively in our favor: the time on the ranch together, and the myriad activities available for us, actually brought everyone closer together and made this a resounding success. We went out on the kayaks several times, used the heated pool, made campfires every night, drank the bar try, mingled with the staff, went horseback riding, played basketball, volleyball, and tennis, hung out by the fire playing guitar in the lodge, and ate delicious meals there. Everything worked perfectly and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate. While I can see how this place would be amazing for a family, we had a superb time as a company and definitely plan on returning for a future retreat.

Yelp
The most incredible family vacation destination anywhere in the world! The Averill family knows how to create an incredible experience for families on vacation. Terrific food, unforgettable memories, and a magical setting!

Yelp
Western lodge resort spot with stunning Flathead Lake location. Comfortable, modern cabins, excellent family-style meals and lots of recreation -- fishing, boating, horses. Super friendly staff makes you feel like family. Ranch dogs will lay down and let you scratch their bellies. Limited conference facilities -- you can do a casual meeting for 50 or so here, but only as a part of a getaway. Not the best spot for a straight-up business meeting. Bison tenderloin and broiled trout were both awesome dinners. Less than 1 hour from west entrance to Glacier National Park for hiking, biking, boating and fishing. Not a cheap place to spend a week, so take full advantage of all the recreation included. Call the office; they'll talk to you about what all you can do. Warning: no TV on site. W-Fi is OK, and cell service is spotty in some locations. Don't go if you are not ready to unplug.

Yelp
Stay here once and you will never want to leave! This is a five star place: Food, staff, and owners all make you feel like your old friends that have come home to stay. The dining staff paid special attention to all of my children's' special dietary concerns and allergies. Love the whole pig roast for dinner!! We stayed in the lodge after dinner as a family and played Scrabble. It was like a post card, only better. We will definitely be back next year. kids can't wait to play with the dogs and go on another breakfast ride!

Yelp
I just returned from an amazing week at Flathead Lake Lodge. There were 13 of us in our family, ranging in ages from 3 to 74. We will all remember this vacation as one of the best we have ever taken. The setting is as beautiful as it gets, bordering a huge lake, with mountains and forest all around it. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and courteous. Kevin and Jody were standouts, and everyone else that we came into contact with couldn't have been nicer. There is a daily activity sheet, and you can pick and choose what you want to do. Standouts are Breakfast horseback rides, steak cook outs, all boating activities(canoeing, waterskiing, kayaking, sailing, to name a few), arts and crafts for kids, tennis courts, volleyball, fishing, biking, barn dance, mouse races, kids rodeo, slip n slide into lake, these are a few of the daily events we chose. There are cabins to stay in, we had 3 cabins one for each family. The cabins are basic, clean, and worked for our family, but they are not luxurious by any means. My kids and grandkids had a ball, and I would highly recommend this vacation to anyone who has a family and wants every age to have something fun to do.

Yelp
Read this completely to know if you should book this, for some people it will be perfect. Didn't work for us but would for the right people. Its right on the lake with beautiful views - horses and a large cruise boat in the summer - boat slips right there, heated pool, breakfast was included and was nice. Here is what you don't get: no phone, wifi in the lodge (did not work in our room though they said they just got new internet) no microwave, no tv, (no hot tub on site). when you ask they tell you about a nearby health club that has day passes. Room is cute rustic and clean - but we should not have stayed here as a couple with our needs. As I said the rooms themselves are clean and warm and O CRAP there is a bat in our room!!!! Lol we finally used coats to get it out and we then checked EVERY nook and cranny! Where is Buffy the Vampire Slayer when you need her? Now that I have stopped laughing and my wife stopped screaming - a bat could probably sneak into any room when it was being cleaned or something. I can tell there are rooms larger than ours so maybe some have more amenities so call and check the specifics of your room. If you are booking for a group (I book groups for a living) then it could be a fun getaway with lots to do - they have a nice volleyball court, lots of Tennis courts, and there is room to run around for kids. final note. The heater was nice (ours actually hit the base of the bed which was awesome), but I didn't see any AC. Probably don't need AC there? Living in PHX it is a must, but when I lived in Seattle we didn't have AC.

Yelp
We just took our kids and grandkids to this fabulous lodge to celebrate our 50 th Anniversary. It was fabulous!! The staff, food, services and activities were amazing. From horse activities, hiking, water sports and organized kids activities it was beyond our expectations. The beautiful setting on the lake was like our own waterfront property. Limited to 100 guests per week, nothing was crowded. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
This was the BEST family vacation we have EVER had! You must arrive and depart on Sunday. It is a bit like camp for families. You make dear friendships with the other guests and the ranch hands. This was our second year, and it was a delight to see many families are repeats. Kids have absolute freedom to roam as this is a safe, safe place. There are tons of opportunities to take horseback trail rides. It is fine if you are a novice, but you can a get a fast, long ride if you are more advanced. There is water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tennis, yoga, hiking, the MOST amazing outdoor laser tag, clay pigeon shooting, nightly volleyball, good food (and plenty of it). The most amazing parts are the kid and adult rodeo competitions. My wife and I have won team cattle penning two years in a row which a highlight of our time. The kids load up on firetrucks for ice cream after their rodeo competition. There is a steak fry in the woods (best steak ever) to and from which you can ride on horseback or one of their three firetrucks. This place has charm, charm, charm and there is activities galore. I was a wee bit tired at the end of my vacation, but it was a lot like being a kid again. There is magic on the lake! It is hard to describe its awesomeness.
