I’m a regular, but today I tried the chicken tenders again. Before, they were frozen and now they’re hand battered. So good! I got them buffalo style with a Caesar salad. So good! Bren, is the best and the best service and tunes. ❤️❤️❤️

The food is solid. Their wings are my favorite thing on the menu. I've noticed that the food isn't all that great when it's super busy. It becomes a hit or a miss when a game is on. Service was just okay. During a game, I only got one refill on my refillable drink. It was so long before I got a refill that the ice melted. I figured with the refill, it would be dumped out and new ice would be put in but my refilled drink tasted very much like 1/3 water and 2/3 soda.

Great bar, food was delicious. Food took a little longer then expected but it was worth the wait. Fish tacos were amazing!!

The drinks menu offers a standard selection of cocktails, beer, and spirits. There is nothing outstanding or memorable about the selection, but there were no obviously poor choices either. Prices are in line with the city average, not overpriced, but not particularly attractive either. The service is fairly prompt, the waiters are polite and attentive, but there is a lack of individual attention to customers. Orders are taken quickly, drinks are brought on time, but without any additional information or recommendations.

Great wings, amazing cocktails, and drink deals. The menu has something for everyone and every single item is great. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. They have great events where you can watch sports, do bar trivia, or sing karaoke. Lots of space for bigger parties.

Food was ok. Cheese steak sandwich was made with ground beef. Nice place though.

Bar smelled like bleach/cleaning products on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Did not enjoy that. Service was fast but perfunctory. Not warm or inviting. Korean tacos were super tasty! The grilled cheese and fries were disappointing. Nice beer choices. Seems like this place is most loved for late-night times, not every day times. There was no vibe on our visit. Lots of potential.

Bar food. Good and tasty. The sliders were good. Chicken sandwich was good as well. Their homemade guacamole was great and fresh with pisco de giallo... I don't drink but their drinks seems to be great I guess.

Great hole in the wall sports bar! The Buffalo wings were spicy and crispy and delicious! Reminded me of NY wings back home. The service was great!! Santiago was super friendly and attentive! Would highly recommend!! Also, Rebecca can eat a dick!! :)

We really enjoyed this place. We found it while visiting and wanted to watch games. It's a small bar in size but the excitement was electrifying in there. The main entrance room has a bar with seating, some side high top tables, some lower tables, and a high communal table. The next room has lower tables, 5 higher tables seating 4 people each, a larger table that had chairs and a booth side, lower large table. Lots of TVs around the entire place. The food is pretty good. We enjoyed a couple appetizers (bulgogi fries and chili lime cauliflower) and then their wings. Friends ordered nachos, but didn't finish them...the cheese was a cheese sauce so the chips were soggy. Our server was fantastic. She was very friendly, helpful, and very attentive despite having so many tables and it being packed. I'd go back here again, but I'd go earlier just to ensure a table.

This place is a beacon of evening food and service. When the rest of the San Rafael dining scene closes, the Flatiron continues feeding hungry customers. The food is hearty and homemade. We all liked the food- the standout for me was the bulgogi fries: salty, spicy, vinegary kimchi and cheesy. What a punch of flavor.

This is probably one of my most favorite places to eat in our area.. Today we went shopping, it was a good time. We decided to come here to eat, why?? Because it's a really cool atmosphere, the service is good..The food is outstanding! That's why!..LOL... We made sure to get in here at a good time though..Lesson learned.. We started with some drinks, I like their Margarita. We shared the Nachos they post about in front of the restaurant.. Its so much better than going to the Gym! O.K. All seriousness, We had another good meal here, we also decided it's one of our favs..The nachos..really really good!! Have them! You will not be sorry. We probably didn't need tacos too..We shared the Bulgogi tacos and the fish tacos..Also really good! This place in my book is an A plus..The food has consistently been 100% on point The service also, clean place..It checks all my boxes..I did need to learn to call first if it's late..This time we had no issues at all. Thankyou..

I really enjoy this place. Its fancier then a dive but not too nice to not get the bar feel. its always a fun place and the workers are so nice and fun. I use to work at the kaiser down the block and a co-worker and I would walk down and get apps and margaritas and enjoy the day. now I go with some friends and we have fun, they play the games and then really good music. we came once and there was a nat problem and that was a bit annoying and unfortunate but then we came for my birthday dinner and drinks and the waiter informed me that the kitchen was going to close in 30 min. So WE BOTH made a decision on food. as the food was coming out, the people started to show up. perfect amount of food. After being there for sometime drinks turn in to shots and cake. Such a fun spot to just enjoy drinks and a good bite. glad I kept this one on the list.

Fun bar, great staff, friendly bartender food was legit. Everything was good. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I would give it a seven out of 10.

I wanted to like this place but highly doubt I'll be back after finding a hair in my sandwich that's definitely not mine or my husband's. There was a table of six adults and several children seated near us who spent our entire meal screaming and running past our table, hiding under the table next to us, and being loud and rambunctious like it was a playground. The restaurant refused to do a thing about it. It made for a very unpleasant atmosphere for a $100 dinner. Food was meh.

Such a great find. This is one of our Saturday afternoon favorites. Great staff, excellent food, positive vibe and lots of tv's. Rotating beer taps and full bar too. Kid friendly but definitely a sports bar, complete with various artifacts of sporting events gone by. My default is the Asian chicken salad. I crave it after long runs: I'm a good eater and this one (with added chicken) delivers on taste and portion. Hubby rotates through tacos, wings and taco salad while hungry teenagers enjoy burgers, chicken Caesar wrap and BLT. Parking is easy.

All thing great at flatiron. Very impressive people here and unique area fun for all except kids they can't come to bar but still fine music people and beer wtf is wrong with you get here

Ugh I love this place. Again, I come here whenever I'm in town I hope I can become a regular in their eyes! They have amazing food their potatoe skins or whatever they're loaded potatoes and they're the best food ever I crave them always and I wish they had a flatiron here in Sacramento it's delicious and it's always a good vibe whenever you go in, there's always other people having food and drinks and having a good time. Recently found out about their taco night and happy hour I'll hopefully be returning for that! Yum! Love this place to death

The food is good for a sports bar. The ambiance is a little rowdy and the service wasn't bad. There was a blonde bartender there last time I was in that wasn't very nice, but we still enjoyed the food. Order the Rick Ross wings naked with lemon pepper.

Place wrote me back and is trying to make it right. Credit where credit is due These are the best buffalo wings in the Bay and I stand by that having tried many many wings. If you like them THIS IS YOUR PLACE

Love the Flatty, for one reason the food! But lately their french fries game has gone down hill, consistently. This is an easy kitchen win, when focused on. I'm confident they can get back there, whoever runs the kitchen just needs to focus on it. Easy wins!!

I'm a huge fan of local bars, especially dive bars, and Flatiron did not disappoint. Although not really a dive bar you see a lot of locals coming here to watch the game and enjoy a quick bite a drink. We had lumpia (which I was shocked to see on the menu), and it was decently good. The waitress was super attentive and I can definitely see myself coming back here.

The food, service and ambience were great. Loved the old radio set embedded in the bar. Four stars!

Recently ate here and didn't at all have a positive food experience. I ordered an appetizer of loaded potato skins, which arrived after my entree, and were made up almost entirely of cheese. I guess technically they were "potato skins" as there was almost zero potato content. My entree was three shriveled, over cooked hotdog "sliders" topped with a mixture of tabasco and ketchup, on dried up mini hotdog buns. I could eat only one each of the potato skins and hotdogs. What was also very bad was the onion rings I ordered that had no flavor at all. My dinner companion ordered a hamburger that arrived at the table and wasn't what he ordered. I will never go to a bar for food again and certainly will not return here. Horrible. I guess if I was drunk the food might be good. Maybe.

Used to love the food here, but this week came by when it was fairly empty around 5 and got a very slow and crummy meal. Cold, unsalted waffle fries. and the sliders somehow went from some of my favorite around to very mediocre. New chef? New recipe? Dunno. Worse, I tried to send back a very flat, headless beer and the waitress oddly argued with me that there were plenty of bubbles (there were none...) And that the co2 was fine. And that nobody else had complained...no idea why she opted to argue, vs just serving me another beer. What do I have to gain by sending back a beer?

Flatiron is the original local sportsbar... but... the local sportsbar in Marin, meaning they have an awesome bar program and a great bar team. They can make you a craft cocktail that you'll love, all the classics, craft beers from all the local breweries, a Coors Lite or Fireball shots. The only thing I would hesitate to order would be wine? Food is great for a sports bar. I've been in for nachos a few times to watch football/basketball. Flat gets pretty crowded on game days, even for the World Cup, the bar was pretty packed. Huge thanks to Cindy for the exceptional service, extensive product knowledge, and genuine hospitality. I really enjoyed her down to earth approach and recommendations for what I should try next. Definitely a cool spot to visit, and Tuesdays they have Trivia AND Karaoke. I believe Trivia night moves back to Mondays after football season.

Ok so I received a message from the bar owner asking to give them another chance and he'd chat with me. Not really me! I don't take advantage of a kind gesture so I popped in unannounced per say. Lol The food was great and so was the service. I'm big enough to admit when I'm wrong. As well as when food is good. Those cauliflower things...mmmm mmmm!!! And the wings were crispy and sauced just right. Thanks for reaching out, and thanks for talking me into giving the place another shot. It was well worth it.

This watering hole has been around a long time in San Rafael, sister restaurant to State Room. Surprisingly, the food is delicious for a bar. The drinks are strong, bartenders are friendly and attentive. Waitstaff are on point. Check out their calendar for Karaoke nights. This is a happening place on 2nd & B street. Highly recommend the blackened chicken sandwich, coconut shrimp, Korean bulgogi fries, etc. Great place to catch a game or two. Ample street parking up and down B street. It's one of my favorite places in San Rafael for so many reasons - but most recently I was this person (see picture) and not only did the sweet waitress take my order with out batting an eyelash, but the kitchen absolutely nailed it. Tuesday around 6:00 team was on point and it was the burger if my dreams.

We stopped in for a late bite after a college basketball game. The service was pleasant and prompt, our food order arrived quickly and the 1/2 lb special burger was tasty and the pork sliders were great too. It was a little breezy and slightly cold inside the bar where we were seated, and bistro seating seemed the only option, but that's an easy fix to get to five stars.

Love this little corner bar- great vibe and makes you feel like a local. Great service. Food was good. Choices were good. Loved the open doors and laid back feel. Would definitely come back and if we lived here, this would be our regular hangout. I bet they have a lot of regulars!

They actually answered the phone after 5pm! Kinda unheard of for a bar with kitchen hours. I have to say the Iron is the best of the relatively few choices for late night drinking base munchies in the safe, if not boring AF Marin enclave. The service/food came hella quick. Competitive burgers with a healthy draft selection. Who'd have thought?

Absolutely bomb. If your in san Rafael i highly recommend...open later, classic building wonderful service and excellent food. Just wish i was in san Rafael more to enjoy.

Grateful there is a latenight bar that serves food around these parts. A busy spot. Bar and table seating there. There is a definite dinner, evening and late night crowd here! They have pub grub and desserts. Lots of TV's to watch sports.

Came back! We loved our food so much that we came back for more! My salad was one of the best I've ever had and our server was great despite having a large group! Highly recommend!

Came here to grab a very late brunch at 5 pm. Very hungry. That was probably for the best, the food was not all that good. Fried calamari smelled great when they brought it but the corn breading left something to be desired. The signature burger was kind of basic, the best thing about it was the side salad that featured surprise celery. Our server Sean was of course the real hero, very attentive and brought everything very quick.

Good food: burgers, fish tacos, Mexican salad Good service, especially in the back Rules for where waitress would take food order from table as opposed to going up to bar was unclear. (In bar you go up to the bar.)

San Rafael is a town that shuts down EARLY on weeknights - my wife and I were looking for eats around 9pm after a work event, and nothing open. Only joint to grab a bite was Flatiron. Hmmm. Looks like a bar, but no other choices, so in we go. Great beer selection, good eats, friendly service that made us feel welcome, warm atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again - we found us a new hang, and one that stays open when we need it!

Overall I like this place. It's a standard bar but with good food and a great beer menu. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the inside feels more upscale than a dive bar, and as I said, the food is worth it. I took my wife here a few months ago and she wasn't a fan...namely because she thought we were going out for a nice dinner. That said, I tend to go when she's out of town. I tend to go with the Mexican salad with chicken but the tacos look super legit from what I've seen.

There is no better establishment in Marin country. The staff is friendly and professional and the manager and bartender Jess makes every visit memorable! Food, atmosphere, service always delivers

The worst thing about the flat iron or the childish posts on their message board. They're so bad I don't even want to go in there. A few years ago they were great. I suggest the newbie look up some things on the Internet and he might be a little more witty. The bar is OK and so is the beer and food but the staff is Soso and overall the place is ehh

Stopped to meet an old friend on our way to Sonoma County. This place was on the corner and super chic inside. They had a few tvs as well for those of us who were trying to keep up with the World Cup. I ordered the Flat Iron cocktail and my friends had beer. The cocktail was really delicious, and I would have had a few more if I didn't have other things to do that night. We also ordered the sliders which were pretty good. Messy, but pretty good. The service was fine. It wasn't great and we felt like a burden more than anything, but I would give it a second chance if I lived in the area.

I've been back here a few times since that first visit and my impression has definitely improved! I don't know if they have new cook and bartenders or what but they've significantly upped their game. I've now had the burger, broccolini, cheesesteak, onion rings and, and at least four of their cocktails and all was above average, if not outright delicious. The sweet peppers on the burger and cheesesteak and the spicy aoli are going to get me back there within a month or so. I really like the casual, low key decor and our server was a doll with great recommendations. Only good vibes and good grub to report. I can't wait to try the bahn mí sandwich and bulgogi fries next time.

Wings were weak, super small, very greasy not crispy from the fry and not picture worthy. This happens when the fryer is overloaded with additional orders that make the oil temperature decrease.Just keep the fry boys in line to deliver a just product. Possibly the smallest 6 wings I have ever seen for $12. Positive points for the friendly service and the cold beer! Ciao for now

This classic San Rafael spot with its weirdly shaped interior has a full bar, great food, fast and friendly service.. During the day it's a family friendly place and at night it turns into more of a bar scene. If you're looking for food and or drinks this is the spot!

Stopped there for lunch. Cold and rainy outside. Delicious lentil soup with chucks of crispy bacon warmed me up. Great BLT (it's a bacon day). Friendly waiter. Old wood sports bar. Could get noisy. I'd give it five stars if the seats were padded.

I visited Flatiron for the first time last week. Starting to get my bearings on the places to hang out since I'm moving to San Rafael in a week. I'm so happy that my experience was amazing, the food was amazing the overall experience was amazing. The reason I say this...I'm taking over managing the property directly kitty corner to Flatiron. My dear friend Trish joined me and she felt the exact way. She could not shut up about how amazing the Mamas crunchy tacos were, loved them! I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was quite tasty. I'm looking forward to visiting often and getting to know this neighborhood spot. Thank you for a great first impression! That's what brings customers back. See you soon!

Love this place. Been coming here consistently for a few years and have never been disappointed. All the food on the menu is outstanding, the only thing I personally wouldn't order is salads, they are average. The pulled pork sliders are so juicy and flavorful. My dad says the cheesesteak is one of his favorites! Have also tried the wings which are delicious as well. Definitely loud inside, but that's expected for a sports bar. Great atmosphere. Service is good as well. Love this place.

Many many of these reviews are from drunk regulars so take that with a grain of salt. Reuben was good but not a TRUE Reuben w cooked meat. Was charged $5 for $4 NA beer but whatever. The thing that pissed me off is that I spent over $30 for one person and they CHARGE for ranch? I hate things like that, very cheap and ridiculous.

Great bar with good food options in San Rafael. One of the only places that is open late. We stopped by for a late dinner, service was quick and fast. Solid bar in the area!

Pleasantly surprised by the delicious burger! And they have gluten free buns! Decent beer/cider selection too. Went on a Saturday around 3PM - not too crowded but I could see it fill up with all the tvs for sports.

Bartender was not personable at all. She seemed annoyed, and we were very polite and not needy at all.

The tastiest and crunchiest Tator tots & sliders cooked to perfection (medium rare). The bartender "G" was friendly and courteous! Cool vibe. Highly recommend!

Yummy and lively and fun down home pub. We loved our dinner: crispy chicken dinner, calamari and a couple of margaritas! Francisco, our waiter is FUN.

UPDATED REVIEW: Okay Flatiron... well played. I just saw the sandwich board outside your doors and it's a masterclass in anti-trolling. I salute your response and as proof have made it my profile pic. I even added 2 stars to my review, which is probably the most gracious thing a Jets fan has ever done. Just wondering... next Monday will the big screen be showing MNF or The Bachelor? Please let us all know on the board! Thanks and here's to being able to hear the game and/or The Bachelor.

Great food... I ventured out and tried some new flavors and absolutely enjoyed it. You should give them a try.
