"Flattop is a popular hiking and running trail, minutes from downtown. It’s just over three miles round-trip and is moderate, save for the last 200 feet." - Bailey Berg
This is a great trek to the top. It’s not difficult, you can pace it according to your needs. The views are beautiful, patches of melting snow still around in summer, fog and dew everywhere.
Good family outing, even with small kids.

Nice, not very difficult hike which will get you slightly above 1000m elevation. Total ascend is about 400 meters and it took us about 1 hour to get to the top. There are stairs and right below the peak is steep section, but it's short.

Amazing view of the surrounding mountains and city of Anchorage. On a sunny day, you can see Denali that is 143 miles away with a good binoculars. We hiked in early June and some portion of the trail are still covered by snow.

Love this hike! It is not for beginners, especially when you get near the top and see the false peaks. My hiking partner and I did lots of scrambling to get up to the flag. We went on a super foggy day so couldn't always tell where we were going but luckily we've both done this hike a few times and keep coming back to it :)

One of the busiest hiking trail, its kinda challenging part in the upper side of the mountain.
It really worth it specially on the top with the flag..🇺🇸🏔️

It is always a pleasure to visit and hike the mountain. The last hundred feet is fairly technical, especially in the winter.

Easy beginning, moderate ending (depending on your physical condition). Definitely not ASA III, though the beginning could be ASA III. Last part has minor bouldering with some incline. Good athletes won't have a problem at all.
