Flattop Mountain

Flat top Mountain is a short drive from downtown Anchorage and offers majestic views of the city and surrounding landscape. Absolutely breathtaking views. Definitely not too difficult of a trek when you’re up there. Good atmosphere overall. Parking is five dollars. There are public restrooms as well as benches throughout the park. Great place overall. I recommend.

One of my favorite trails in the Anchorage bowl! Fun in all conditions. Rocks up high are slippery when wet. Know your abilities and be prepared for weather to come in. Well marked trail but the parking lot can fill up on sunny days.

So easy to get to from downtown Anchorage makes it easy to fit this in if you only have a couple hours. Lots of trails for longer excursions. Plenty accessible for those not interested in real hiking or with mobility issues. Worth the trip for sure!

This is a great trek to the top. It’s not difficult, you can pace it according to your needs. The views are beautiful, patches of melting snow still around in summer, fog and dew everywhere. Good family outing, even with small kids.

Amazing view of the surrounding mountains and city of Anchorage. On a sunny day, you can see Denali that is 143 miles away with a good binoculars. We hiked in early June and some portion of the trail are still covered by snow.

I wouldn’t take kids on the second half of this mountain trail. The trails aren’t really marked, it’s well worn and we ended up scrambling on our descent from the peak.

Definitely a tough place to hike but the views are simply amazing. Take your time to reach the peak of the mountain and enjoy the journey of this great hiking spot.

One of the busiest hiking trail, its kinda challenging part in the upper side of the mountain. It really worth it specially on the top with the flag..🇺🇸🏔️
